My 1st time here - I tried a "1/3 lb. Burger with a handful of fries". It was listed as one of the $5 meals on the menu. I think my buddy had the same. Anyway, the meals came out pretty quick and mine was devoured before I had a chance to take a picture. I can't speak to the beer prices, because we each had uncarbonated soft drinks. Danielle did a great job keeping everything going. She was the bartender/waitress/cook all wrapped into one. When we walked in, there were no other patrons. Then two, then two more and pretty soon there were nearly a dozen guys, all having lunch before heading off on their merry way. The brick building has been there for as long as I can remember, way back in the days of two-lane Hall Road and two-lane Romeo Plank Road. Inside, the decor reminded me of the oldtime bars that used to be out this way - old wood ceilings, wood paneled walls, wooden floors. The bar can seat a dozen or so, but there are plenty of tables and booths to handle everyone else. TVs are mounted in various locations to take in sports and local news. A decent place to have lunch - I'll have to stop in again and perhaps order a beer.

I visited this place once about a year and a half ago with my friend Kelly, and was pleasantly surprised by how laid back the joint was. Kelly and I had been working out a lot during that time period, and we both were watching what we out in our bodies (insert dirty joke here). I was coming home late from work (somewhere between 11-12), when Kelly called and asked if I wanted to hang for an hour or so bc she couldn't sleep. Because I hadn't eaten in over 7 hours, I used Yelp to find somewhere and Goldie's popped up. While the crowd was not the type I like to spend time with (white trash meets Farmer Jack), I have to admit that my prejudices were quickly subsided by how pleasant everyone was. First off the kitchen had officially been closed for nearly 10 mins, but the woman behind the counter made sure that I still received a cheeseburger, onion rings and coleslaw. Was it the best? No. Was it good? Yes; especially when you factor in the location and time. While the decor sucked, the guests and staff were great. I'm not often proven wrong, but when I am I admit to it, and Goldie's definitely deserves a look if you are in the area (particularly if your options are limited).

DDD..Dive right in... We settled on Goldies, after hitting 4 (FOUR!!) other places that were either, completey empty (where was everyone on Saturday!), Completely stupid (Amstel was their only beer on tap!! - new waitress!), Uber expensive (I'm paying how much for that beer??), Wrong (all together), or any combination of the four! Goldies was cheap, there were people there and we ended up having a great time! I don't think I'd set out for the night planning on going to Goldies, but it's not a bad place to settle in for when all else fails! We had appetizers and a burger and all hit the spot. Goldies had been around FOREVER....check it out for a no frills night.

Walking or stumbling distance to my front door, yes it has been handy at times. But seriously, the fish is the best! Four stars

Goldies is just what the doctor ordered to survive the winter. I have to admit, I had low expectations for this bar when my fella wanted to meet some friends for drinks the other night. However, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The inside is all wood paneling and stocked with plenty of hockey games. Cozy! This is the kind of bar where people of all ages go to just kick back, probably after a long day of work. I could come here with my girlfriends or my parents and I like that. We all need more options right? They have your typical bar food. Mostly fried things and burgers. Great prices though... think $5 for a whole meal. I didn't get any food but my companions did. Everyone ordered chicken strips and fries, which they gobbled down in record time. I was assured that each plate was exactly what they wanted. I just had a few PBR's with lime. They were cheap at $3.50 a bottle. The staff were all warm and friendly and some reunion of sorts was happening at several tables in the middle. AWe had an excellent time and spent less money than we would have if we'd gone somewhere else. I will most certainly be a returning customer!

Great dive bar. Seems sketchy from the outside but there is nothing to be afraid of. Helpful staff, good burgers, cold beer. What else can you ask for?

Probably one of the WORST burgers I have ever had... I dont know if they ran out of the good ones, but this one tasted like a crappy frozen burger that had been in the freezer for a year. I was VERY dissapointed, especially since the sign outside reads 'great burgers' or 'best burgers in the world'.. i dont know exactly what it said, but whatever it did say was a lie. To top it off, the burger w/ fries was like $8.00? WTF! On a positive note, the atmosphere is pretty neat in there. The decor makes it feel like your in someones basement, so, that was pretty cool... If you are going to go there, eat somewhere else... go there to hang out and drink...

Service is slow if you're not a guy! Good appetizers and the drinks are 'liberal' in the booze dept. The surroundings are basement like...crowded tables, not much room to move. Parking is poor... Overall a good dive bar!

Great Bar Burger... Great Bar Burger... did I mention Great Bar Burger? Darn good Onion Rings too... Decore? Reminds me of my Uncle's basement from 1956. Real Knotty Pine wood paneling and trophies. Same two curmudgeons sitting at the bar everytime I'm there... One even looks like my Uncle...

Food is awesome as dive bar food goes. I'm leaving two stars for the horrible young brunette bartender/waitress/nazi we've dealt with twice now...
