We are visiting from out of town and was looking for good breakfast. This place didn't have very many reviews but what they did were positive. We were seated right away. Water on the table in seconds. Wait staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They have gluten free bread and gf muffins. They also have hand sanitizer on the tables which is a cool touch. Ask for their home made hash browns instead of the processed ones. I got the breakfast bagel and hash browns and it was great. They always kept my coffee full and were very accommodating and attentive. For the price and location this is a great spot.

We showed up - first two people of our group and asked if they could accommodate 9 + a baby, they instantly had no less than 4 employees rearranging and combining a couple of tables and setting them like a well-oiled machine. Also had a high chair. The speed and smoothness was impressive. Service was quick and they were Johnny-on-the-spot with coffee or anything we needed but not overly-intrusive. Everybody in our group had something different. We had eggs Benedict and a Spinach Omelette and both were excellent. Everyone else liked their food. We had a couple of two year olds that started to have meltdowns by the end of our visit, had an adult have a coffee accident and we cannot say enough about the staff and how friendly, courteous, professional and efficient they were through everything. Very nice folks. We would definitely recommend and will come back in the future.

Not sure why this place has such a high rating. Went there for breakfast and we both got omelets. They were nothing special at all--maybe there is something better for breakfast on the menu? We probably won't go back.

Closes at 2:00 but no hours on the door. Did not try the food because I was asked to leave.

Here for Memorial Day weekend and found this awesome breakfast place! The food reminded me of a great home cooked meal. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. The biscuit was homemade and the gravy was creamy and flavorful. It was delivered quickly so we could continue our day enjoying the area. The staff was very friendly and this Colorado girl loved the atmosphere! Lighthouses, ships, and more! We found our breakfast place for the rest of the weekend!

Had a great breakfast and although we weren't locals we were treated as such, with great service. Breakfast was just what we wanted after a party night attending a wedding. Loved this spot.

Best place for breakfast/ lunch in town. Service and food is so good and quick. My husband and I go during and 1/2 hour lunch break and are back at work with time to spare!

OK folks, this is not a a premier gourmet restaurant. However, this is great breakfast place complete with colorful waitresses, fresh coffee and substantive portions. And yes, Brenda's is known for their Eggs Benedict! While James Street is not off the beaten path, this is where the locals and frequent visitors eat breakfast. Good breakfasts, grandma's nautical decor is what Brenda's offers. If you are looking for Mimosas' , drive 100 miles north to Traverse City.

Horrible staff attitude. We wanted to come here for a late breakfast on our way home from our vacation which was around 12pm. It was stated that they were open till 2pm and when we arrived, there was a sign on the door stating they were closed as we observed people still eating inside. We kindly asked the worker there if they were closed and if there was any other place in the area that she would recommend. She rudely sneered at us stating that they are closed and stated "No" about any other recommendations. Other customers that were leaving witnessed this rude behavior and shook their heads with disbelief. Low and behold, we found 3 other great restaurants right around the corner with the help of some passer-by's. Just for this reason, it is implanted in my head to never step foot in your establishment. Can't judge a book by it's cover? This throws that logic out the window.

Ok. Coffee was good and cup was always full. We had the eggs Benedict, omelette special and a fruit cup. Fruit cup was canned oranges and pineapple (in July!), hollandaise on the Benedict was salty and heavy, and omelette was average. Service was a little slow, but it was packed and our server was so pleasant that she deserves a little grace.

This place hustles and had good food! The food is fresh and everyone liked what they got to eat. Also they accommodated out huge party at the last minute! Both times I've eaten here the food was good and the service was good! Get the eggs Benedict!

Extremely slow service. Waited 10 minutes for a server to come to our table after we were seated. Waited another 10 for drinks. 30 minutes later no drink refills. It took an hour to get our food. The hashbrowns were burnt on the bottom and undercooked on the top. The omelet had very thin eggs. Toast was good though.

Left the highway on the way back to Chicago for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by this place. Tasty, plate sized, Swedish pancakes (no lingonberrys available) as well as the more usual omelettes, benedicts, regular pancakes, etc. Good coffee and they left a carafe for refills at the table- always a nice touch so you don't have to wait for refills. Lots of photos of ships on the walls. Seems to draw mostly locals. Prompt service by pleasant waitresses. Free wifi and good food. What more can you ask? Bring cash tho since they don't take credit or debit cards.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
