The loss of two stars is simply because of the long line wait time and the commonly nonstocked shelves. The prices at meijer are awesome. Can't be beat by any competitor in my opinion. And I very rarely find anything expired on the shelves. The meat is fresh, prepared salads are fresh and the baked items are fresh. The complaints come at the line. Very very frequently I have been here and waited anywhere from 20-35 minutes. Just recently I shopped here on a Saturday night around 10pm. Not a common shopping time. I waited in line for 30 minutes!!!!!' When I got home all my cold food wasn't cold anymore. Good thing I didn't have ice cream... They only had one employee run line open and 2 no limit uscan line. I refuse to believe a manager didn't see the issue and open another line. I've contacted meijer many times complaining about the long lines on Twitter. They reply and nothing ever changes. Extremely frustrating!!!! The employees are also rude and just not friendly. Perhaps the issue is the employees at the lines have no desire to move quickly and this trickles down? No idea. So if you have time to burn have fun at this meijer!

This is my go-to Meijer. During the week, it's great. Trying to go on the weekends is usually ridiculous. If you are going on the first day of a sale - prepare for some items to be already out of stock. After you've spent so much time shopping, prepare for there to be minimal lanes open. It's not uncommon to see people abandon full shopping carts because line is too long. Yes - all the self scan lanes may be open, but if you are by yourself that can be a time consuming option in itself. On the plus side, mperks rewards are great.

I was in Livonia, running some errands and thought I would stop at this Meijer to get some groceries before returning home. Pros: The shelves were well stocked Store was clean Cons: The deli - I was going to get some lunch meat, but the deli was packed and wasn't moving quick... The check out! Like others have said, the lines are painfully slow! I was there at about 2:30 on a Saturday and people were lined up five or six carts, deep. I will say, they had almost all of the aisles open, but the lines were still huge. Thankfully a lane had opened after I stood in line for quite awhile and I was able to check out relatively quickly. Overall, because of the long lines, I wouldn't shop here often. There are plenty of other grocery stores near by!

Disappointed! I received a coupon in the mail for $10 off of a $30 purchase so I decided to try shopping at Meijer. While their store was huge and had a big selection I was not impressed with their customer service. I asked a floor associate where the bug spray was at and she told me it's in seasonal. I explained that it was my first time in the store and I had no idea where seasonal was at. She then said just go down the main aisle until you see grills. After searching for awhile and not seeing anyone else to ask I finally found it. Then at the checkout the cashier never said a word to me. I said hello she didn't even look at me. Another cashier came over and they started talking. At the end of the transaction she handed me my receipt and never said a word. They made my decision very easy. Won't be shopping here again.

This Meijer is like any other Meijer in the area. It's large, there is a lot of variety when it comes to what you can buy, and there is never enough cashiers open to handle the amount of customers that come in. The meat department is overly expensive, with very little deals to be had. "Manager Specials" are scattered throughout the store in a Where's Waldo? sort of way, and are easy to miss if you are not looking. However, there is a rack near the cheese/dairy department where reduced baked goods can be found - I snagged some stale but yummy prune paczki for $1.80something the other day. I come to Meijers for certain things, and go to other stores for others. It's your typical grocery store, really. It does have a great wine selection, and that's Meijer's crowning glory.

This location is close to my home, but I'd rather drive to one further away. They never have actual registers open, just the do it yourself ones. This is fine when you've got 4 items but when I'm doing the big trip to restock our cabinets, this is a huge pain in the butt. The cashier who runs this area usually is having a very in depth conversation with another cashier and doesn't offer to help you at all. I had a few coupons and asked for assistance last time. I'd clearly confused her with an actual employee. Got the feeling of How dare I ask for help. But the young man on the lane next to me, she tripped over herself to ring all of his stuff and bag it for him. Guess if I looked more like baby daddy material she would want to assist. Store is usually quite clean and well stocked. The customer service isn't there, and when I'm dropping a large sum of money, it's nice to have help bagging and ringing it up.

This is my store and I loved it...at first. The cashier's are less then friendly (when there actually are cashier's) and the employees working on the floor are extremely rude. However, the ladies in customer service had always been very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. ..kudos to them! The meat prices are great, which is the only reason for me to shop there anymore, and the Pharmacy personal are quick and knowledgeable. The store itself is rather clean but I would appreciate it if they would replenish the sanitary wipes at the entrance more often.

This Meijer location is definitely subpar. They consistently have extremely long lines due to not opening enough lanes, and they also waste the resources they do have available by letting employees stand around doing nothing. They do have some food items that I can't get at Kroger, and their pricing is usually decent. However, after spending 45 minutes in line a few months ago, I will never return to this location.

Doing late night shopping and only 1 cashier. This is typical for this location. Only 5 self scans open. But the staff is friendly.

The Meijer in Livonia is located south of I-96 in the Millennium Center Shopping Plaza. Staff is helpful and friendly, and I get in and out quickly.

I usually shop at this meijer often. Today the bottle return room was so disgusting I had to leave. There was what looked like kitty litter all over the floor soaking up something, the smell was horrible. There was standing water or some kind of liquid all over the whole floor. There was dog food all over the wet floor my son slipped in it so we left to come home and clean him up. I stopped to grab some green peppers for dinner on the way out and they had dirt all over them not cleaned up at all. I seriously don't think I will go back to this store simply because of how disgusting it was today.

I think the below reviews are a bit outdated. This particular location as it currently sits has been updated throughout. I'm used to the Meijer at 8 and Haggerty and that location can be a bit of a sh*tshow. This is now my neighborhood Meijer and I have to say I'm impressed. The deli is clean and efficient. The produce is clean, affordable, and fresh. The meat section is well organized and offers more organic, hormone free, nitrate free, grass fed products than any other location I've been to. I will say that the seafood department needs some work- but it's hard to surpass Joes Produce quality and prices. This location tends to be less crowded than the others I've been to. Which I enjoy because I don't have to dodge Soccer Moms speeding through the aisles as if they are the only people in the world with sh*t to do.

Rating Meijer for about the morning experience at 6:30am.... I'm usually not greeted that early -- maybe because it's too early or someone is ready to go home but when I leave, their is someone that tells me "good-bye". The store is pretty clean -- you might find a couple of pallets laying around from night staff restocking the shelves but employees usually make sure it doesn't block it totally. Never really buy a lot from there because the register usually are backed up due the fact they never open all the register. (I believe it's just for show) I always use the self checkout which seems to be extremely faster.

This has to be one of the worst Meijer's that I've ever stepped foot inside of. I went in looking to buy baby formula and a Father's Day card. I walked all over the store looking for the fomula. It wasn't with the other baby items, such as clothes, and cribs, etc. I finally found the baby food with the diapers and baby toys after literally walking all over the store. A five minute trip turned into 40 because I couldn't find what I needed, and there was no one there to help! The check out lanes were all closed, which left three at the very end open, and super long lines in each. I will not go back to this location!
