Oily fries and over price burger. I don't mean to lower down their grades since I see bunch a good reviews they posted on the wall inside the restaurant. The staff was friendly but they need to work on the food especially the burger. It just not juice enough and has no flavor.

My first time at a Five Guys and it was good! I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews on here but the burger & fries was really good. I ordered the small single cheese burger with grilled onions, mushrooms & mayo. As another reviewer noted the mushrooms are definitely canned but it was still good. I got the Cajun style fries and they were delish. I was totally impressed with the digital pop machine and the fact that you can flavor your pop anyway you want! I'll definitely be back!

Been tasty every time I have eaten their! So far! They call back to put patties on the grill as you come in. The free peanut's are always a bonus! The single, is more than enough! Burger's are juicy, not dry and tasty! This location has been tasty, so far! As of date!! The location on 12 mile and telegraph is also very good! Price of a single is less than Burger King whopper's! And, much more filling! Looking for a good burger, quick, this is the place!

I love the fact that I can get a burger cooked to order here. The big burger chains don't have that. I love the fact that the burgers are juicy and flavorful with a nice crisp char on it. The big burger chains have bland tasteless burgers that you really need the sauces to give them flavor. I love how you can choose any combination of toppings for your burger for free. A lot of the big burger chains don't give you that kind of selection; in fact, some of them charge you extra for certain toppings. I love how you can choose not only the size of your fries order, but the seasoning on it as well. The Five Guy's seasoning is good. The Cajun style seasoning is awesome. The heat builds on you, but it isn't overpowering. And it is always nice that the fries come in a cup which overflows into the bag. They give you so much for what you pay. And I love how they have the soda machines which allow you to select the flavors of soft drink that you want from a much larger list of flavors than what most of the big chain burger joints will offer you. They even have an ice tea machine which gives you a larger selection of ice teas than what most of the large burger chains chains offer. And the last time that I was there, there was a really long line which the staff was able to clear in a surprisingly short time. And all the while, the cashier was friendly and pleasant.

I haven't been to 5guys in months. Losing weight after being told you're a week away from a heart attack has made me change the way I eat. After a 53 pound weight loss it was time to venture out on the burger culinary joint crawl. I ordered the small with the works. This is the first time I've ordered a burger with mushrooms. I sure have been missing out. The burger was fantastic. Only complaint is the overly enthusiastic cashier. It as a bit much.

I've always heard good things from other, so I had to try it out for myself. I'm a potatoe head and I just love fries -- The burgers are OK which seem like homemade burgers. (Pricy too but it's a very large burger) The burger junk does have combo meals or anything like that; everything is purchase separately. ***Remember this isn't McD's or Burger King -- it actually reminds me of "Steak N' Shake. I highly suggest not taking little kids here because sizes are larger than normal and this would be burgers and fries you wouldn't want to waste. I purchase a "Little bacon burger" and "Cajun fries" (small which is really like a large which came up to an estimate of $8.00. I agree with Chris L. review regarding rating... "Probably really a 3.5 if you wanna be anal about it". If I had to go again -- I'll probably only get the fries. (Yummy potatoes!) The large fries can server up to 3 people -- OH YEAH!!!

The burgers are great. I think it's to over priced to pay $38 for 3 burgers for me and the kids with 3 drinks and a fry.

Five Guys are OK, but a little too noisy and pricey for my taste. The staff shouting the orders and the manager yelling at the prep people is a little over the top. The burgers are over cooked and not that impressive. i like the fries and the extra bunch they throw in the sack and the Pop machine has a great selection. It's close to twenty bucks for a window served lunch of 2 burgers, 1 fry and a Pop. I can onhly go 3 stars.

I could have went to the one that opened up by me but nooo I had to try one in Michigan. We had heard bad things about the one that opened up by us so we had never tried Five Guys before but have seen them showing up nearly everywhere. With time to kill and hunger pangs coming on, we went. Not bad. Not bad at all. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Loved the peanuts and loved the options for a burger. Not that I frequent the golden arches for a burger that often but I would totally come to this chain before I went thru the arches. Got the cajun fries and a cheeseburger -- over all not that greasy. I'm brave enough now to try the ones back home!

Only went the one time, and the food was gross. Far too greasy and messy. It's far overpriced, and it's simply not worth it. We won't be going back.

Not as good as the Detroit location! We dropped in at 11:30am Sunday morning, and, surprise, no lines. When we left there were at least a dozen people standing in line to order, so we must have gotten there at the perfect time. Tried the regular flavored fries this time, and we liked them better. I must admit I missed the cajun spice a bit, but they were still nice and hot. Needed to add salt. I had what I'm now calling 'the Liz' = double cheeseburger with mayo and grilled mushrooms. These mushrooms looked more canned than the Detroit ones (I bet they're no different though). Waaaay too much mayo. I wiped off what equated to 3T of mayo and the bun still slip slid around. The cheese wasn't melted (and at the D location, the whole burger was a melted masterpiece). Ken tried a single cheeseburger, also 'the Liz'zed up. His had less mayo, and I think I actually liked the single patty better than the double. He also got a hotdog with mustard and onions. They split the hotdog, and the bun was not attached at the bottom, so this was a hot mess on tinfoil.

Probably one of the best burgers I've eaten. The staff is always nice there and the food is great. You'll spend a bit more than eating at Burger King, but it's worth every penny. Try it, you'll love it.

Burger was overcooked, "Well done and juicy" slogan had me thinking "yeah right". Fries were over seasoned for my liking.

So I heard great things about this place so I was expecting great things when I went here. First off if you have a peanut allergy (I don't) you can't eat anything fried here because it's all done with peanut oil. Second, it's unnecessarily greasy. Third, for what you get it's waaaay overpriced. For four people each getting a burger (single patty), fries, and a drink -our bill was almost fifty bucks. Not cool for fast food. They gave us our fries heaped together in a big paper bag and they were soggy and gross with oil, not crispy or even thoroughly cooked. My burger had the normal toppings on it and then - surprise - some greasy mushrooms from a can dumped on top that once I took one bite began shooting out of the bun and all over the table. The burger was greasier than Brays and that should tell you something... We all left with stomach aches and by the time I got home I was running for the bathroom. I could have saved myself the pain and money and not eaten at all. I don't know if all the Five Guys are like this, but if they are- I cannot for the life of me figure out why everyone gives them such great reviews.

Stopped in for the first time a couple of nights ago with my wife. Each had the single patty burger and we split a regular fry. Did not get a greasy burger as others have stated and our fries were out of this world. Like the fact that burgers are cooked fresh when ordered. Little bit more of a wait then a "fast food" joint but much better food. Like the peanuts you can eat while you wait. Do not think they are the best burger I have ever had and they are a little pricey but we will be back soon.

Over rated on all counts. Walking in, the immediate impression was that a Big Boy threw up in a tile bathroom. It was very noisy, with employees yelling order information both to customers and to each other, and a continuous cat call announcing the number of people entering each time the door entered. I was watching their production system, and it looked OK, but that didn't identify the bottleneck that made it take 15 minutes to get a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and grilled mushrooms. Something obviously needs to be tweaked. For the burger, a large fries, and a large soda I paid over $13.00! Could it be that good...really??? In Short. NO. It wasn't. I felt almost immediate buyers remorse as I bit into the overdone slab of beef that had absolutely nothing special or unique about it. Bland. Ordinary. Where is all the hype???? Not on my burger, that's for sure. The fries were plentiful and fresh, but otherwise uninspired and again, not worth the cost. I left feeling a bit "ripped off", but to the buyer beware. I went, I tried it, I'll check it off my list and never go back...

Well we went to Five Guys for lunch today (which just opened). After hearing much positive feedback about FGB&F this was my first visit to one, so I did not know what to expect. First thing I noticed was it was very busy, which is to be expected, after all it is new. The next thing that stood out was the noise level, we were met by a greeter that gave us a slip of paper and screamed out some info about how to order. I looked over at my colleague and almost in stereo we both said...what the heck did she say? The next part of noisy was the people behind the counter screeching out (NUMBER FIFTY ONE, FIFTY TWO...). There was music playing at a pretty decent volume, and with all the masses dropping by to see the new shiny spanking new place, the noise level was higher than what I like my lunch hour to be. So I ordered the regular burger, small fries and small drink and guess what...more than 10 bucks! I think this is just ridiculous, $10 bucks for fast food is unacceptable! Ok ok enough griping...now for the good: They offered peanuts while in line. The burger was VERY VERY GOOD The fries (which should have been shared between two people) were very good as well, but I threw away half of them...was too full! So the bottom line...a regular cheeseburger (two patties) with the works (all toppings included in the same price) was 5.50, the small fries were $2.70 and the drink was just under $2, provided a meal that was plentiful and tasty, but simply too expensive! I may go back, but it will not be a regular thing! I give 7 stars for flavor I subtract 1 for noise, and 3 for crazy price...leaving us with 3 stars for Five Guys!

This is one of those places that's never quite as good as you want it to be. The burgers are just ok - a little too pricey for what you get in terms of flavor, quality and quantity. It's not bad, but I don't understand why people rave about the burgers. The Cajun fries are usually pretty damned good, though. And they give you so many of them... it's one of the only saving graces to this place, and it earns them an extra star. They also have malt vinegar for the fries, which is a bonus. The short of it is, if you want a burger and a big carb fix and you want to pay too much and wait too long, this is as good a place as any.

FIRST TIME - LAST TIME. I was compelled to get some food there after a friend uptalked them. We went on-line to see the menu and saw the on-line order feature. We made our selection and placed the order. I received the email confirming the order and that it would be ready within 15 minutes - just "walk right in to the pick-up window and get your order". I wen to the location which is 5 minutes from my home at the appointed time. I "walked right in to the pick-up window" to get my order. Mine was the only one sitting on the shelf... I could see my name. The cashier rung up the 3 people in line and then the cooks started calling out their names and getting them their orders. Looking directly at me and ignoring me. I stood there silently through two crappy muzak songs while awaiting someone - ANYONE - to acknowledge my presence. Finally after 6 minutes of being ignored, I asked the kitchen staff - all 8 of them - if anybody was going to help me as I had been standing at the counter for over 5 minutes. One person came over and asked "What do you need?" I need my order that I was told to come in and pick up. "Your name?" It's the only one sitting there on the shelf 3 feet away from us. They say nothing and drop the fries into the deep-fryer. Sure enough... they pull them out early to get me out of there - can you say "greasy undercooked fries"? I get my food and a "Sorry"... nothing more. I get home, unpack the 30.00 order for 2 burgers, 2 hot dogs, and 2 fries. BURGERS- greasy to a point where the bottom bun is a sopping mess and inedible; HOT DOGS - kids won't eat a split hot dog that is split down the middle and fried on a grill top; FRIES - as stated before, greasy and undercooked - frozen in the center. Don't waste your time... this business will be gone within a year at this rate. Michiganders want quality for the $$ - not shoddy food that is overpriced. Like I said... FIRST TIME - LAST TIME.

Been back a few times and they got the grill/staff fired up properly now! Burgers are tender and juicy as they should be!

The reason for the 2 stars is the prices for the burgers, tooooooo expensive. They try and make up for it by giving you TONS and I mean TONS of fries. In fact a small order of fries is enough for 3-4 people! The burgers are TASTY and you can get a lot of toppings

Five Guys in general have great tasting burgers. I've always had a good experience here. Only thing is that it's a little pricy considering that it's technically fast food- just a cheese burger gets you to $5, and that's not including a drink/fries. But the superior taste and quality makes up for the price and makes it worth it everytime. If you like burgers, and have never been here, def. check it out.

Probably really a 3.5 if you wanna be anal about it. Bittersweet trip because my primary emotion after eating here was just to wish that much more we had an In-N-Out burger out here. I almost walked right back out as there were 30+ people in line. But I had managed to order and finish eating my burger in less than 25 minutes so that turned out not to be a real problem. The cheeseburger I had on the whole was very good. I like the variety of toppings for the burgers. My first combo was grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, tomatoes, green peppers, with A-1and hot sauce. Can't get that combo at any other burger joint and it turned out to be great. The patties were juicy and tasty and really hit the spot. Sorry Masons this burger was way better than yours and would have been so with just the cheese and the meat on it alone. One thing I didn't care for was the bun seemed a little doughy to me which should have been difficult to get that sensation on a double patty burger. But even with all that meat it seemed a little too bread-y and starchy bite after bite. The fries were totally schizophrenic for me. I ordered a sm Cajun fries and the quantity was huge and the fries very well cooked and obviously freshly made. Problem was the Cajun crap they put on them sucked balls. The Cajun salt is basically Lawrys seasoning salt with a hint of Cajun spices. It was super salty and nasty with the Cajun accents coming out in the worst way possible. I would have been 10 times happier just getting regular fries and putting vinegar on them. It's pricier than BK and McD's but that's the exact theme of the place (and In-N-Out) so take it for what it is. If you save a few bucks by just ordering a water the price for a meal here is totally worth it IMHO. What would seriously power up my orgasmotron would be to get a Double Double Animal style at In-N-Out with the fries from Five Guys. Do they exist across the street from each other anywhere? If so I need to make that my personal church for burger and fries worship.

The burgers are like Paul Simon. And the fries are like Art Garfunkel, overly oily and unnecessary. Added up, you have a very one-sided partnership, but a decent enough meal.

Lots of food! My roommate and I split a small fry and we didn't even finish it! The soda machine was cool

Burgers and fries are good stuff here...the pop machine was real cool and i hope others get them. they have about 50 choices from flavored water to van. rootbeer.

Burger was decent. Fries were horrible. Beyond greasy. Overpriced. Just paying for the hype. It's noisy inside. Not that I don't appreciate the open area where the average tasting burgers are prepared. What's with the peanuts? You're allegedly about to eat a badass, killer burger. Why the nuts? Ohhhhh to help fill you up so you don't notice you just paid WAY too much for a blah burger. Go get a Whopper and fries.
