I judge a Chinese food place by two things: its sesame chicken and its crab rangoon. I've had places where the sesame chicken is bright red, stringy, and extra sweet and where the rangoons have zero crab flavor and all bland cream cheese. With this place, I got the lunch special with sesame chicken and chicken fried rice, and an order of the rangoons. I would say they did a good job with flavor! The chicken is only a little sweet with more soy flavor, and they come in nice-sized pieces. Everyone says sesame chicken is supposed to be spicy, but I've never had one that was, nonetheless the warning is there. The rangoons surprised me- there was a lot of cheese mixture, but it tasted infused with crab, plus there were a few hearty chunks of it. It was sweet and not overcooked. Not the best I've had, but will cure my craving. The chicken fried rice was a little plain and had a small amount of bland chicken. Also, the sauce they served with the rangoons tasted like they dumped a ton of pineapple juice in it. Other than that, the people are nice and the food was prepared fresh and hot. Also, fourteen bucks got me two lunch specials and an order of rangoons. This will be my go-to place around me unless I find something more awesome!

Considering I worked at a Chinese restaurant for 6 years while growing up I have always been very particular about Chinese food. In general nothing has ever compared for me but China Inn comes just about as close as it gets! I have ordered from them twice now and was very happy with both their sesame chicken and their almond chicken. Their won ton soup is also great although the chips I got for the soup were stale this last time. My boyfriend has also had their sweet and sour chicken which he was a fan. Im definitely looking forward to ordering from them again.

Good food, menu variety, friendly staff, fast service. Best of all, they are one of the FEW chinese restaurants that offer DELIVERY to the Livonia/Plymouth area!!!!!!!

For some reason the lunch specials are just Ok, but when it comes to apps or soup this place can't be beat! the wonton egg drop soup is so good! The steamed dumplings are great and the teriyaki chicken is something special! And man of man the prices are so cheap!

The food here is good. It's not great, but good. However, the portions are enormous! For $4.75, you can get a "Lunch Special" selection (which is a slimmed down version of the dinner menu) that comes with fried rice and an egg roll or soup. The "lunch" plate is smaller than the "dinner" plate, but they're both stuffed TO THE ROOF with food. Their place is small with only a few tables, so I'd recommend takeout if you live close by. Food is prepped fast and the staff are friendly. The egg roll is on the greasy side but good. Just don't let it sit. So far, we're fans of the moo goo gai pan and sesame chicken. The orange chicken was good as well, but just be warned there are strips of orange rind for flavor. If you're not a fan, you can pick them out. I do agree with a previous poster that said the almond chicken might not have been thoroughly cooked with a few soft spots in the bigger pieces. All in all, if you're looking for a really nice place to go out on a first date, skip this place. But if you're looking for inexpensive chinese food, love leftovers, and want to save money to buy gas, this is the place to go.

I tried this place today for lunch after a very long workout, I was famished! This is your typical take out chinese joint although they do have two booths not so much a dine in place. I really didn't know what I was in the mood for today. After reading a few places in the area and feeling sick from hunger, I settled on this place..I needed replenishment asap and this was on my course of direction...I was hoping for the best... I was really surprised it was very good! I ordered a lunch special Hunan chichen it came with soup or egg roll. I got the hot and sour soup it was excellent and they give a good bowl size portion. The hunan chicken was also a massive portion I now also have dinner. The chicken was good spicy but not to much, the veggies cooked perfect and I really liked the rice not overally seasoned like many places. This place is solid and super reasonable cost less then most fast food places! Two thumbs up definitely would go back !

Service fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The crab Rangoon too sweet lots of cream cheese, but didn't taste crab. Hot sour soup was good but not as peppery as the first time( looking for consistency) Bourbon chicken served with lots of veggies and not veggies that I like. I know next time to ask them to omit some of them. They also need to cut them into smaller bite sized pieces. Dark meat chicken in a sweet sauce. Most pieces were perfect but there were a few that were like chewing beef jerky. Not great it you need a toothpick to get out the shredded pieces between your teeth. Lol Veggie fried rice was perfect but again veggies that I should have omitted . I have enough for 3 meals. I definitely will go back. I like watching them cook up the food

Finally broke down and tried it and I wish I had not. Let me start by saying the im writing this review based on the Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo. I have never eaten anything else here. I ordered carry out and it was fast. It was ready in less than 5 minutes. Too fast??? Probably means it isn't made to order. When picking up my food I noticed there was no plum sauce and no fortune cookie in my bag. I asked if the dinner combo came with plum sauce and she said yes and got me one. I asked if it came with fortune cookie and she said yes and got me one. If I would not have asked I wouldn't of had either when I returned to work and started to eat. This is either lack of care or being cheap and in this case I think it was cheapness. The food itself was poor quality to me. Luckily I ordered an extra sweet and sour sauce because what it come with it not nearly enough for most. The sauce itself was just orange and not very tasteful. No pineapple, green pepper, red pepper, onion, or anything else. Just plain sauce that had a chemical taste to it. Rice was very plain and supposedly had pork in it but I didn't see any. Sad excuse for Chinese rice. Egg roll was very small, made with cabbage and not sprouts!!! Big bummer!! They are egg rolls they need sprouts not cabbage. Cabbage is cheaper so i'm sure that's why they sell those. Big disappointment because you can always justify a meal if they have a good egg roll :) Overall: Would I go back: NO Why: poor food and lack of attention pros: large amount of food.

Ordered almond chicken with fried rice and egg roll plus wonton soup. The chicken tasted as though the breast was precooked then breaded and fried when ordered. Very bland. The gravy was just horrible and the fried rice was tasteless. The wonton soup didn't get eaten. I have never seen brown broth in wonton soup and the filling was a dark brown and tasted very strange. Had one small taste and was disgusted. Will never order here again.

Pros: Portions are quite large for the money. I have not had a bad experience with the food. Delivery is always prompt even when busy. Cons: Not open 24 hours a day... because sometimes, I just need an egg roll. Bonus: Carryout menu has been known to sport "Engrish" as it says "We Delivery" on the menu... which by the way, has become the nickname for this establishment with my housemates and I. I recommend the house special fried rice, the coconut chicken, and the mei fun... I also really like the Chicken and Broccoli

The meat in my food had a weird consistency. The almond chicken was hard and had a crunch to it, as if the chicken breast was gristle all the way through. The gravy had curry in it, which I'd never had before. The pepper steak was chewy and didn't taste right. The only thing that was good was the egg roll.

If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. TERRIBLE!!!!! I've been craving a good egg roll for a few weeks, so against my better judgement we did not order from our usual spot (Tenyen) and ordered from here because it is literally around the block. I will never do so again. The almond chicken was all breading (which tasted as though it was from a frozen school lunch). Once pulled from the breading and doused in ranch, my boyfriend claims it was edible. The almond sauce was nothing more than brown beef gravy and was again, disgusting. The rice was ok, sadly the best part of the meal. Like I said, I was crazing egg rolls, so I ordered an extra. To my extreme dismay, they opt to make their egg rolls with cheap cabbage rather than bean sprouts. Absolutely the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. I ended up eating pizza rolls instead.

It looks like a clean place and friendly staff! The food is very reasonable and it was all good to me. I recommend the Kung pao shrimp. It tasted amazing!

This place was an awesome discovery. We had food delivered. The people on the phone were very nice. I asked for a menu and they stuck one in. As a note, they have the ability to take credit cards over the phone, which was a major plus for me! We had the general tsos chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and crab rangoon. Two sides of rice & 2 fortune cookies came with our order. The crab rangoon was over-stuffed and delicious. 6 came (we kind of ordered blindly, so this was a nice surprise!). Both entrees were HUGE and amazing. The General Tsos Chicken came with broccoli. I am not a huge fan, but my husband is. The Sweet and Sour Chicken had the sauce on the side, so it was not messy or overly soaked. There was enough food for us to make three decent meals (for 2!) out of this!!! We will definitely be ordering again!

Portions are large, but lacking in flavor. Almond Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken portions are huge, but more breading than chicken and the gravy for the Almond Chicken was not good. Pork Fried Rice and Egg Rolls also were blanc.

Seafood king and house fried rice is my favorite, and their soup is better than any other Chinese carry out. Most important, their price is decent.

GROSS!!! Almond Chicken not cooked all the way through. the sauce tasted like a thick chicken/beef gravy. Veggie Chop Suey bland. They forgot our soup. No plum sauce for the egg rolls. White rice was crunchy and even the fried rice was gross. We threw all the food away. Stay away and Don't eat here.

This is my new favorite fast food Chinese restaurant in Livonia. So far, I'm happy with their sweet and sour pork (they give sauce on the side), hot and sour soup, chicken lo-mein, and Mongolian beef (my husband's favorite dish from there). As others have mentioned, their portions are huge!

This is not the best Chinese place I have ever visited, but the service is really fast and the portions are HUGE. I get a dinner portion, and can easily make it last two meals for under $8 bucks, and its right down the street from my house, so I call it in and immediately leave to get it and its usually ready before I get there. Big fan of the sweet and sour chicken. They don't cover the chicken in sweet and sour sauce here, instead choosing to give you the container of it on the side. I don't know about you, but when I reach into the bag and get some of that sauce on my hand because it is almost leaking out of the box of food, i get a little upset. Container makes it nice, easy, and no mess. I don't know, maybe its just me. The food is pretty great, again HUGE portions. No idea how they make money this way. I got a couple lbs. of chicken last visit for the under 8 price tag, not to mention an egg roll, and a plethora of rice. So maybe not every order is perfect, its a smaller shop. But every time I visit, it is fast and pretty darn good bang for your buck. I will recommend it.
