If you are looking for the best BBQ ribs around 7 Mile and Middlebelt, then be sure to stop at Chicken Shack. I have ordered their Rib Snack for dinner about half a dozen times and it never disappoints. The ribs are perfectly cooked so that the meat falls off the bone and the BBQ sauce is finger lickin good! A "rib snack" includes a 1/3 rack of ribs (about 5-6 ribs) and comes with one side (broasted potatoes, corn, or coleslaw) and one dinner roll. The potatoes are typically very buttery and probably not at all healthy, but mighty good and plenty of them. My husband loves their "Chicken Bite Snack", which includes about 10 pieces of fried breaded chicken, as well as one side and a dinner roll. Expect your order to take about 15 minutes to prepare. I would recommend calling ahead. The staff has always been friendly and the restaurant is very clean. The food can be a little on the expensive side, but it's always quality food. And as someone else mentioned, if you get the lunch special the price is hard to beat. Enjoy!

Second time there and second bad meal. The first time I had the chicken which was only fair and the fries not very good. This last time I had Cod which was okay but the fries were very bad. They weren't throughly cooked and cold.

After driving by this place a hundred times and seeing the good reviews on TV I decided to go in. Very disappointed. I bought a 12 piece w/2 sides. The fries and corn were good. The chicken was well cooked, seasoned BUT very tiny, not small. Out of the 12 pieces I would say about 6-7 of the pieces were a little bigger then the size of a golf ball! This 12 piece wouldn't have fed more then 3 people. I paid $22 for for a very pathetic box of chicken that was maybe a notch above the fried chicken you can get at Krogers or Walmart. The quality is not enough to justify the cost, plus with the tiny pieces, you better off going somewhere else.

This review is mainly for the customer service. The service was awesome! Greet you upon entering, smiles and tells you to have a good day. I'm big on great service and this place certainly takes the gold star for service.

I suppose this location is fast food but they have the best fried chicken I've had in the area. I usually get one of their chicken dinners with breast, thigh's, leg's and wing's. I like their seasoning and they have been cooked exactly like I like them every time I've been here. I usually get them chicken with Shacken Potatoes which is also pretty good. I'd prefer more seasoning on their potatoes but you can always add some yourself when you get home. Their corn is pretty good, seems to have lot's of butter but at least add's good flavor. Their coleslaw is decent, not one of my favorite items at this location though.

I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this place as I've been here more then a 1/2 dozen times. No complaints other then an incorrect order once. The staff is decent and friendly, the food is ready when promised after a call to order ahead, and the chicken is good, not dry, and I especially like the cod dinner. I'm glad to have them in the neighborhood.

I have witnessed the quality of food go down hill. The last few times the meat has been extremely over cooked. Returned one dinner only to have the replacement not much better. Man turn down the heat...crunchy hard chicken is not what for dinner. After this last visit I think I'll have to give this place a rest.

This place is awesome. So much better than any other chicken place. GET THE POTATO WEDGES! Garlic and buttery... Mmmmmm. The only thing I was disappointed about was the coleslaw. It seemed to have been in a blender and didn't really taste right.

I was excited to try out Chicken Shack because of the positive reviews. I'm a bit of a fried chicken connoisseur, ever since I was a wee babe when my parents would take us to Penguin Point or Don's Truck Stop for dinner. I was not bowled over by the Chicken Shack. It was just okay to me. I got the four-piece dinner and found the smaller pieces to be quite dry. The breading tasted very homemade to me, but there was something missing in the spice department. I found the breading to be salty and not much else. The potatoes were very tasty though - slightly crisp and just greasy enough. I would eat there again, but wouldn't go out of my way.

Ok, so not all Chicken Shacks are the same....but this one is pretty darn good! We all LOVE the fish here. Good portions and its never greasy. Have the broasted potatoes WITHOUT the butter topping if you don't want a greasy feeling in your stomach! Oh,and the coleslaw is seriously addictive. :) So why only 4 stars??? Service is slow....very slow. Takes 10 minutes to get acknowledged at the door. But it is something that we can live with, as the fish is THAT good. Yummy!

I ate here a couple of weeks ago. Fried chicken dinner to go, and I'm sorry, but it was pretty bad. Pieces were small and meat was dry inside but very greasy outside. I was very disappointed since I love fried chicken and this place is close to me. Didn't have the ribs, but probably won't go back. Too bad.
