Took my friend for a birthday lunch her choice was Bahama Breeze. I have been here before so I was happy with the choice also. Our waiter Alex T recommended the Shrimp St Martin which was amazing. Happy with our experience from start to finish. Our waiter Alex T was awesome.

We came to dine with a group of four after seeing a movie. Unfortunately, the power went out after we ordered but we were drinking our diet cokes waiting for a power resurrection. After about 25 minutes, the power was still not on and everyone was still sitting in the dark. The waiter saunters over with two of the meals I stated, we prefer to eat with our guests and we'll wait until the power comes back on. Well, after awhile, it was obvious that the power outage was going to last awhile so we decided to leave. I have two complaints that warrant a two star rating. (1) - The waiter should have asked if we wanted to wait and serve all four meals together. (2) - They actually charged us for the two soft drinks. I understand the power outage had nothing to do with Bahama Breeze. However, I also know the cost of fountain pop. Come on Bahama Breeze....you really couldn't afford to comp the diet cokes? When you're with a group of four, isn't it expected that all four people want to eat together? These are rookie mistakes that screams of a cheap establishment. That, I'm afraid is unacceptable to this reviewer.

NEVER coming back here again. A cockroach ran up my legs and through my dress, and it ended up crawling up my chest. I was moved to a different table where I found a dead cockroach at the corner of the booth. Service was terrible as well. The manager didn't even come to apologize, and I paid full price for my meal. Needs health inspection. Didn't even take a bite of my food. So disgusting!!

Food was great and the atmosphere is good. The only thing is we dined on the closed in patio and there were too many flies and bees.

A group of us gathered at Bb for happy hour/ girls night. We started out in the gazebo and it was sooooooooo freaking hot/ muggy. The place has tons of windows and yet the breeze wasn't coming through- they had an industrial sized fan blowing and it wasn't doing anything. I wish we had turned right around and gone inside. For 2 hours we sweated and lost our appetite for food and drinks our server did a good job at taking our orders and getting our checks, but had the personality of a rock we then went inside to continue our celebratory mood and cool off. They have a great happy hour 4-6 and again 9-11. Our second server did a good job at managing our drink and food orders- The manager was great at accommodating us.

The crab appetizer has got to be one of the best in the country. Prior to Bahama Breeze my favorite crab appetizer was in West Palm Beach at the Avocado Crab. Every one of the appetizers that we've tried are just amazing, we still have a few to go and can't wait to try it the last few remaining.

Bahama breeze has never disappointed me. I've celebrated numerous birthdays here, dinners & other casual events. Last night I came here for my 21st birthday.. And I'm so glad I did! Our waitress was so polite and came around enough but wasn't annoying. I had ordered the ultimate piña colada (frozen) and it was delicious! Really made me feel like I was in the Caribbean with the way the drink was presented. Appetizer was spinach dip w/ chips.. Spinach dip jus came out and it jus melted in ur mouth. My entree was the 4Pc Jamaican wing.. I got them well done which I wish I didn't.. I feel like I would of tasted more of the chicken if I hadn't got it so cooked. But it was still so good. And then came the dessert- the caramel cheesecake w/ fruit! The fruit was real.. Nowadays ppl use that fake fruit out of the jar. When she brought out my cheesecake it also had lit candles on it! I thought that was neat too. Everything was great. I've never had a bad time @ bahama breeze & they'll always have my business.

The food was ok, but not extraordinary. I thought the wood grilled chicken was very tender and tasty, and the calypso shrimp linguine dish was flavorful. The coconut shrimp was good, and so was the conch fritters. The lemonade was way too sweet, but we diluted it with ice water. The seafood paella, jerk chicken and the Mahi & Shrimp with Lemongrass Sauce were just ok. I guess I'm not a fan of Carribean food. Overall I'm not impressed.

There's just something about Bahama Breeze that keeps me wanting to come back. I've only been to this location once so far, but it didn't seem that different from the one I've been to multiple times in the Chicago suburbs. I'm not usually a fan of chains, but I am a huge fan of tiki drinks and while the drinks here aren't the best I've had, I haven't managed to find much competition. I appreciate that the recipes for many of the drinks are pretty authentic, albeit on the somewhat sweet side. It does make me sad that the mai tai has pineapple juice in it, but the rum runners are fantastic, among many others of the drinks. Prices aren't great, but I'm never going to be drinking too much here anyway since it's a long trek from Ann Arbor. If you come here expecting chain quality food, you won't be disappointed. That makes it sound worse than it is, though. I've never had a meal here that I haven't liked. Not the greatest food I've ever had, but again, that's to be expected. The menu's a nice change of pace from the usual burger or chicken fingers or poorly cooked steak that you'll find at a typical chain. Some of the menu options are pretty pricey, but there's also several which are more reasonable. I appreciate that many of the dishes have the option for a smaller portion, but that said, I think charging over $12 for a small portion of pasta is a little ridiculous. Service was fine. No complaints, but nothing above and beyond what I expect either. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd be more than happy to stop in.

Three stars for the food, four stars for service. We had quite a large group for our dinner party and the staff was quite accommodating. The waiter was able to split all the checks accordingly which is a rare act to find in many restaurants these days. I only ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and it was pretty tasty. It was a bit weird finding imitation crab meat in it but with a few squirts of hot sauce, this soup was downed in a couple of minutes. The dinner guests all seemed to enjoy what they ordered, but I can't say much on the food quality bc I only ordered a soup.

I've been here many times over the years, but I guess only checked in once on Yelp. The better half and I had lunch here while visiting with an old friend. I guess I was lucky as some other reviewers have complained about the waitstaff. Our waitress was fantastic and seemed to visit just the right number of times without making you feel like you had a mouthful of food every time they appeared. Granted, it was lunch and this could be why it wasn't as busy. I've always had good, if not great, food here, but the fact that I live in Nashville now limits my overall visits (the closest one to me is in Memphis). I recommend it if you are in the area and looking for a nice restaurant.

I go to the Caribbean for one week every year... Dining at Bahama Breeze helps me through the other 51. Pros: Great atmosphere, live entertainment, value, service, jerk wings, fire cracker shrimp, lobster quesadilla. Cons: the patio bar has some drain issues which makes sitting there unbearable at times. This place is awesome! If your going to a Caribbean themed restaurant your going for frozen girly drinks, the ambiance, and the food. The drinks are awesome. They aren't craft cocktails, but they are really tasty and don't completely put you into diabetic shock. The bartenders are really nice too. Particularly Dean and the middle aged guy with the ponytail (he's been there forever, you 'll know him.) Food- we always raid them at happy hour time. You get half priced apps and they are awesome. Big fan of the jerk chicken wings, fire cracker shrimp, and lobster quesadilla. Now, I'm really picky with seafood but must say this tastes much better than other chain seafood. The Caribbean food is definitely crafted for the American palate, so it really isn't authentic but still delicious. Atmosphere- If your lucky enough to go on a day that Jonathan is playing definitely give him your attention. He's a good musician and creates the ambiance your looking for. He's not the best musician in the world or anything but seeing a guy with dreds play his pans definitely sets the mood. The patio room is awesome because the light shines in and it gives you the feeling of being outside. Beware that bar sometimes has a bit of a stench. The inside is darker, but the bar is bigger and also is decorated to be consistent with the theme. In closing, I absolutely love Bahama Breeze for their happy hour. While I'd still go here when it isn't hh, I don't think I'd hold it in as high of regards. This is one of my favorite chains and it is so much better than similar ones like margaritaville. Highly recommend you scope it out.

I have been to Bahama Breeze regularly for the past 14 years, and I usually go there for just for the Tostones. The service is usually pretty gone, but I had two horrible experiences where I waited over 30 minutes before I finally got service.

Normally, I really enjoy Bahama Breeze. Average food, but I am not expecting chef quality meals. Unfortunately, their new menu leaves a bit to be desired. We tried two of the "bowls". Chicken curry and Maui shrimp. Definitely below average meals. Stick to something you know you like. And the live music is pretty horrible. Terrible sound system and sings miserably.

Cuban sandwich...decent. Waitstaff...absent for long stretches of time. Prices...acceptable. I used to come here a lot when I worked close-by to it, so this was my first trip there in a couple years. Not really impressed, and certainly not as good as I remember it being.

Bahamas Breeze is a restaurant that consistently flies under my radar probably due to the fact that it's on Haggerty Road which has so many delish food joints it's hard to choose most days. I've been to this location less than a handful of times and it is always a satisfying, dining experience. My most recent outing there was the day after Mother's Day which was a brilliant idea since it wasn't busy and we practically had a section of the place to ourselves. Also, my mom and I happened to be there just in time for half priced appetizers and drinks! What a deal! For our shared appetizer, we ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sliders. They are officially one of my favorite dishes! The citrus mustard they come served with has such an unique taste, slightly sweet and tangy nonetheless very flavorful. After stuffing my face with a few of those, I wanted to try something different for my entree. Decided on the Key West Fish Tacos, I wasn't letdown in the slightest. The Mahi Mahi was amazing and made me wish I tried this dish sooner. Came with a side of fruit salad and guacamole (for added flavor). Opted out on dessert but next time the Banana Nut Bread will be mine! Bahama Breeze will never slip from my radar again. Half priced appetizers, live music in the Cabana area and beautiful Caribbean themed decor, what more do I need.

Pros: $4 Mojitos & other yummy cocktails during Happy Hour $4 queso dip & other fantastic appetizers Friendly servers & bartenders Cons: I don't really like much else on the menu

  • Sajeeb A.

Get the coconut shrimp! If nothing else get the coconut shrimp. Everything else is good Caribbean food wise and other. The drinks are good, I mean as good as ridiculously sweet drinks can be. I can't give it 5 starts because the quack on the guitar there is just awful. I personally am all up for live music but this guy butchered even a simple happy birthday.

So this Bahama Breeze is nothing like the one in Troy. This one is extremely loud, not generous with their portions, and very crowded especially on the weekends. Groups that are dining there are very loud and obnoxious. It's not the restaurants fault of course, but I'm trying to paint the atmospheric picture for you guys. The lighting was very annoying and they couldn't close the window, just bright sun blasted onto your face and I'm not very comfortable with that. The prices are great and the servers were very nice to us. The portions were clearly smaller than the Troy restaurant which was weird also. Just not a fun experience, probably won't go to this one again.

Spent $50 on app, entree, dessert, and two cocktails. Paella was bland. I nibbled, and took the remainder in a container home. The next day, i heated it up and was eating it. There was a big ole strand of brown HAIR in it. It was definitely not mine, I have very curly dark hair. Couldve come from the kitchen or maybe was in the aluminum containers they use. Either way, it was effing gross.

Always love this place, but I went their last night and to my horror they did not have the stacked onion rings! But they do still have onion rings and they might be better than the old ones. I liked them stacked better though. My friends dinner was also great. Great place and great service!

Very large space. Ample seating. Decent Service. I am inclined to visit Bahama Breeze when I have a coupon or during Happy Hour. The food is good, but the Bahamarita is the main reason for my multiple visits. It is sooooo good. On our recent visit, I was not feeling well and still could not pass it up. Definitely recommend it frozen!!

I've been here so many times that I've lost count. My mom and I came here for lunch a few weeks ago, and she was not disappointed with her food (it was her first time here). I had the Calypso Shrimp Pasta, and it was delicious per usual. If you're into tropical fruity girly drinks, they make awesome ones here. Their Key Lime Pie is heavenly! The ambience definitely makes you feel like you're in the Caribbean, even if its just for a few hrs.

In my sister's neighborhood, she suggested Bahama Breeze. I knew it was a chain, but I hadn't had it before, and decided to not bother opposing it. I'm feeling extremely lazy right now, so I'm going to go ahead and try to just hit some points. 1.) The building itself is really cool looking. We went at night for dinner time, and it just has a nice aesthetic. I figure all of their restaurants look like this, but it doesn't make it any less interesting. 2.) The service is alright, though the waitress could have come by a bit more often. 3.) I got the Creole Rice Bowl and thought it was alright. When I got it, it wasn't *hot*, and it was a pricey $13, but it DID have probably a dozen decently sized shrimp in it. The rice at the bottom was cooked properly (though I didn't realize it was there until I had eaten almost all of my shrimp) as well. Problem I have is that... it's just alright. Salt seems to be the most popular seasoning, and while there was a good portion of shrimp and sausage, the portion as a whole just isn't filling enough for the price. The experience was decent enough that I wouldn't mind going and trying something else, but it's not all that great. Apparently their drinks are worth having, but we had already gotten some beer to have later on! I may try one next time I'm in. In short, it is what it is -- a decent chain.

1st time at Bahama Breeze and it was an enjoyable experience. We were seated rather quickly, got to sit and listen to live entertainment and our waitress looked exactly like Taylor Swift! I had the jerk chicken pasta - which was super yummy! My husband tried the Jamaican jerk chicken and wasn't impressed with it, the chicken itself was good it just didn't have the Caribbean spice that he expected. Next time we are in the area, we will eat here again!

We had not been to Bahama Breeze in a few years. Last night we went to the show, it was a lousy night and Bahama Breeze was right next door. So we went there. It was a great decision. The special that evening was Key West shrimp on a bed of cheesy grits. I started with a cup of their black bean soup , which was very good, and got the Key West shrimp special. It was perfect. The grits were as good as any I have ever had and the shrimp were prepared just right. Even the side of green beans were well prepared--- cooked to a perfect tender point as vegetables should be. My wife ordered the paella with shrimp. The seasoning was terrific and she loved it. The Yellow Tale shiraz and Monkey Bay sauvignon. blanc were good at a fair price. Service by Natalie S was really good. This place is within millimeters of being a four star.

My wife and I LOVE this place...and with good reason. Tonight, we celebrated our 4 year anniversary. We choose BB for occasions like this because the food is great, it's moderately priced, and the waitstaff work together seamlessly to take care of us every time. Our experience was made more pleasant tonight because, with the addition of a baby, it's often difficult for folks to accommodate us. The hostess got us a sling for our car seat and we were able to put the baby right next to us at the table. A DEFINITE plus. We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer to begin. This is a great starter for 2 people. You get 6 jumbo shrimp with their honey-mustard dip. The shrimp is always crunchy and fresh. To drink, my wife had the pineapple coconut martini and I had their house red beer. These drinks never disappoint and they were tasty and cold. Another gold star. Our meals were served promptly and the food was hot. I will always recommend this place because it's cheap enough to afford yet pricy enough to make you feel like a baller. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!

Years ago this place was always busy, with a line out the door. Based on our experience last week, I can see why that has changed. The service was not so hot. The waitstaff seemed disorganized and / or disinterested. We had to wait quite awhile for water refills a couple of times during our meal. The food is still fairly bland. While they serve some items that are harder to find around Detroit (fried plantains, fresh lemonade with sugarcane), the flavors are just too mild to be truly Caribbean.

The worst experience i ever had. I just left this place i called several days ahead to make a reservation and i was told that there was no need and to come on right in, Thinking everything was fine my wife, children and I walk into the restaurant and were told the wait was 3 hours. I understand its mothers day but when. I called to make a reservation several days before. why did they give me incorrect information. This is very inconsiderate and to add insult to injury, I was appalled at the way they told minorities different times than Caucasian Americans of the same party size. I will be informing the news and my attorney about this terrible experience.

Bahama Breeze is part of the Darden Restaurant chain that owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Longhorn (as well as Capital Grille and Eddie V's). It focuses on the Caribbean flavors while taking our American taste buds into consideration. For lunch, I tasted the jumbo lump crab stack. This dish comprises of crab meat, chilled shrimp, and avocado. Salsa added flavor as does the sweet chili sauce that formed rings around the stack and two thin crackers that decorated the plate. Sharing several appetizers or even make an entire meal of them (beef empanadas, coconut shrimp, spinach dip, etc.) is always fun but that day, I was in the mood for fish tacos. This lunch combo consists of sautéed mahi-mahi in soft tortilla shells with crisp, shredded lettuce, avocado and spicy ancho-chili sour cream on the side. You may order a soup or salad as part of the combo; I like fruit salad with mango sorbet (not specifically called out on the menu) with the tacos. It is a refreshing taste for a warm summer day. Service was great: efficient and friendly.

I used to frequent this location, but recently moved to Troy so I use that one instead now. They're very similar except at Troy, their bathroom is on the 2nd floor so I have to climb a bit to get to it. Food is always delicious here, I got my usual - oak-grilled chicken sandwich, minus the avocado. Ask for the mashed sweet potato, you can have it as your side for no charge. My friend and I split chips and salsa too and it was delicious - a little spicier than I remembered though. LOVE their salsa, tastes more like homemade (chopped tomatoes) rather than the chunky stuff. Our wait service was a little slow even though it was St. Patty's and empty, but our waiter was also manning the bar, so I suppose that's why. They have a great happy hour here too (4-6pm, or "late night" 9-close, Sun-Thurs) where all apps are 50% off, and they have $4 specialty drinks too. I like their Bahamaritas. Sign up for their email club and you'll get coupons occasionally, I had a $10 off $20 one we used.

After having a nice dinner we decided to Move from the covered patio area to the outside patio and were completely ignored for over 15 mins. Between the 2 servers neither would even acknowledge us. Asked a food runner if he would please send our server over and she still didn't come over. Too bad our ending was a downer. Felt like we were an inconvenience to them for being there. When we were waited on very little interaction with server in regards to beverages or needing anything. Party of 5 visiting with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Dinner would be 4 stars, reason I am not able to give 5 is mostly because the music was to loud and we weren't able to hear our conversation. This was the reason we moved to the outdoor patio to have dessert. Was here for lunch last month and had a wonderful experience.

I don't know how you can not like this place. It's the Caribbean away from the Caribbean... GREAT drinks, Awesome happy hour prices on appetizers and drinks/beer. You won't be disappointed with their jerk chicken wings; lobster quesadilla; and fire cracker shrimp. Top notch mojitos and ultimate piña colada. Great, personable service and entertainment.

Mojito cubano, is ridiculously great and one is enough! For my veggie self, I ordered the chicken quesadilla...minus the chicken as an appetizer. Was filling enough for me. The next time I ordered the black bean burger which was huge, was only able to eat half. Came with fries. The burger had some type of sauce on it, was very tasty. And the best area to sit in, is the warm patio. Feels amazing in there.

The food was amazing. The service was top notch. Shout out to our waiter Russell. Ordered the jerk wings on the recommendation of Russell and was not disappointed. Their Bahama mama was a nice compliment to the other delicacies before us. My wife said the strawberry lemonade was out of the world. Not too pricey either. This is by far my favorite restaurant ever.

My fiancé and I went in there for dinner of 4th of July. The staff was friendly and on spot with their service. For being a holiday I wasn't expecting to see so much staff and their positive attitudes. The good was bar far much better than we had expected from a chain restaurant. We will be going back that is for sure! I had the jerk chicken and my fiancé had the papaya. Both huge portions with lots of flavor.

  • Sarah M.

I am giving this place 4 stars mostly for the absolutely delicious jerk chicken pasta. It is one of my all time favorites. All in all this place is a great stop for a girls night out dinner and drinks. There are plenty of fruity drink options and the few I have tried have all been good. Service is usually on the slower side, however, so I would not suggest this place if you are in any sort of time crunch but if you have time to kill it has a great atmosphere, good food, and good drinks.

A change of pace. Now i have been to Bahama breeze quite a few times now and here are my conclusions. First, for starters, i have had the Jamaican wings, which are grilled and well done and great. Now they give you a side of jerk sauce, which is sweet instead of its traditional spiciness. Also i had their spinach dip, which taste like an exact copy of applebee's, which to me is nasty. Now the last time i went there, i had the jerk chicken pasta which was real good and a side of fries, which also was real good. Also a plus, is that there drinks are excellent and they run from $4 to $6, which is better than majority of restaurants. The only negative i really have is that the menu is real small and don't have enough selections.

My hand was forced into visiting Bahama Breeze earlier this summer. My brother needed me to accompany him at the bar while his fiance's wedding shower was going on. I was sort of dreading the scene, girly cocktails like flirtini's and neon colored rum drinks - but was soon impressed. The bar was strangely well-staffed for a noon on a Saturday and although I felt like a deadbeat, I ordered the largest beer I could find. The mug was cold, the beer selection was good and I couldn't complain. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was huge. I'll also go on record saying it was the second-best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. Can't remember where the first best sandwich was - so maybe we will call it a tie. Anyway, I couldn't finish the sandwich which is a pretty monumental statement. I once ate two pounds of tater tots in an eating contest and also made a 6-pound bacon log for the 2009 Super Bowl. This sandwich was epic. The only reason I will give Bahama Breeze a four-star rating instead of a five-star rating is because the floor was sticky. Like the entire floor. Like, someone seriously spilled Kool-Aid everywhere or something because it felt like I was at a bo-jank movie theatre.

Terrible service... we asked the manager to move us to a booth which he did but then we sat as wait staff walked by for twenty minutes never once asking if we wanted drinks plus they never brought us water. Most irritating thing was the table we moved from was being served their drinks and having orders taken. Lost out on a four person table and $80 check. Not going back and telling friends to avoid.

We ordered several apps, and I got burger. They use some kind of chemical liquid smoke to give it a just off the grill beach taste. I couldn't eat it. It tasted more like an apartment fire than a BBQ. My wife had a chicken salad and the chicken had the same taste, but not as strong. It was my last visit.

I came here with my sister and mom on a Saturday evening. There was an estimated 35minute wait so we headed over to the bar to grab a drink and wait. There are a lot of tropical drink options to choose from, albeit mostly sugary concoctions. Yummy, but I don't know if the sugar content or alcohol content got to me first! So, 4 minutes later, the table buzzer starts lighting up to let us know our table is ready to be seated. I would normally be pleased with this, but how do you go from 35min to under 5min? I was already nicely settled in at the bar. There needs to be better communication at the hostess stand. I ended up ordering the grilled Jamaican chicken which was pretty good. My favorite part was the cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes. Our server seemed busy, but he was very polite and nice, so he did a good job. Good place to go before or after the movies across the parking lot.

Went here for dinner tonight for the first time. Overall, very good. All of us in the party ordered drinks. Everyone seemed to like theirs except for myself. I ordered the Mojito Cubano and I all I could taste was cane sugar. I had to ask for extra limes to squeeze in myself. Really was the only down point of the meal. Appetizers: We ordered the chips and salsa and the Peruvian corn cakes. Both were excellent. Entrees: I ordered the fresh salmon pan sauteed with almond crusting, served with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. It was honestly the best preparation of salmon that I've had. Other entrees in our party included the Jerk Chicken Pasta, Curry Chicken Rice bowl, and Carnitas. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The star gets taken away for my drink and the slightly odd, but overall acceptable, service.

So my sister-in-law was looking for a venue for her Wedding Shower. I suggested she have it at Bahama Breeze in Livonia. Its close to 2 express ways and they have a large parking lot so parking would not be an issue :) And what better place to lift the winter blues??? Our party was quite large (76 people) and we had it on the enclosed heated deck. It was a sit down event. The atmosphere was great and the service and food was even better! We all had a salad and an entrée. I chose the Coconut Shrimp (to DIE for!). The servers were all very good, prompt and courteous. The manager stopped by every table to check on us. We brought our own cake and the staff even cut and served it ! After the party a bunch of us stayed and moved to the bar and had some drinks and enjoyed the live entertainment...It was just lovely! This was a couple of months ago and we still talk about how great everything was! I am going to book them for my fathers retirement party in the summer for sure!

Appetizers were good. Fish tacos were yummy. Drinks were too sweet. Overpriced all around. Our waiter was a stoner, but cute. Overall mediocre.

This was the second time I had been to a Bahama Breeze. I went to one in Orlando FL years ago, but honestly didn't remember much about it. I picked this one due to its proximity to my hotel. I was seated right away on the enclosed heated deck - it looks like they can open it up for al fresco dining in warmer months. The service was quite friendly and attentive the whole time; even though they were moderately busy the wait staff did not seem at all harried or overworked. The food was tasty - I had the West Indies Curry Rice Bowl which has just the right amount of spiciness without being overbearing. The Key Lime pie was a good attempt but could have done without the meringue topping. I'd be happy to come back again.

If I could give this place "no star" I would. I typically avoid "chain" restaurants, and going to Bahama Breeze supports my decision. Attended a business luncheon there on a Thursday afternoon and the place was empty. Food was awful...had the penne jerk chicken...chicken was sparse and sauce was from a "mix with water and stir" package. Customer's chicken ceasar salad was lettuce dumped from a bag and frozen chicken slices on top. Water was never offered or served. The worst part....we sat in the enclosed patio which was infested with flies. We spent our entire lunch swatting flies and eating really bad food. This place needs to close down.

Run the other way!! Our server had half of the patio section so they were way understaffed but you would expect to be greeted at least within 5 minutes of sitting down. We waited for a good 10 minutes and had to involve another server who was getting to her tables just fine! And can they do something with that uniform? As far as the food, meh. I would definitely go to J.Alexanders, a restaurant over next time!!

I've been to Bahama Breeze a few times with girlfriends, and my issue generally falls with their service. For as pricy as the food is, I would assume that they would be staffed appropriately. On Saturday, my husband and I stopped at Bahama Breeze before heading over to the movies. This was during the U of M-Ohio State game, so the place was practically a dead zone. We were sat at a booth by the bar, and one of the bartenders was our server. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu, but he didn't notice when we were ready. We had stacked our menus at the end of the table, etc. and he was carrying on a long conversation with the other bartender before coming to take our order. We got the white bean hummus as an appetizer, which was tasty. Not a bad value for a few dollars. We got a couple crackers, some cucumber, celery, carrots, and red peppers to dip with. For dinner, I always order from the fresh fish menu. I love the fish with the shrimp sautee, which is paired with the green beans and mashed sweet potatoes. Tony got a braised beef dish, which tastes better than it looks. I would say that they're not the greatest fish place in the world, but for being next to the movie theater, wasn't too shabby.

2.5 stars actually (I'd say 2 and Ken said 3... but his choices were a little better than mine) The highlight of my entire trip was the Pineapple-Coconut Martini (and how much of a lush do I sound like, right?). Dangerous combo of 'can't taste the liquor' and 'can't feel my face after 5 sips'! Ken tried their Aruba Red house beer and thought it was pretty good. Apps were Fire-Roasted Jerk Shrimp for me (bland peeled shrimp in semi-spicy butter sauce with some toast for dipping. I didn't taste anything resembling jerk seasoning) and Jamaican Grilled Wings for Ken (whole wings, marinated in jerk seasoning, and served with a BBQ-type sauce for dipping. He liked them). Entrees were the Ahi Tuna Salad special for me (meh! Nothing special to me, and Ken and I switched entrees pretty early in) and Coconut Shrimp for Ken (also meh, to me, but a ton better than the dull salad). We haven't been to Bahama Breeze since we returned from our Jamaican honeymoon in 2002 (we were disappointed then too). The $10 coupon in the mail drew us in. Dumb coupon. No need to go back, unless Ken wants to go on his own, sit in the bar, and drink red beer and eat wings.

Meh food. Good if it were 20 percent cheaper. Waiter sucked. Served our food then returned 40 min later with the cheque, no refills at all. If you think this is Bahamas experience you need to drown yourself in the lake. Our wonder-free service was brought to us by our waiter - mr dan G.

Coconut Shrimp and seafood paella is our favorite in this restaurant. They have unbeatable coconut shrimp and it is so yummy. Being back here on a Sunday night. No wait at all which is good. We ordered the same things as usual. The shrimp is still good, but the seafood paella was downsized (portion wise). It was used to served in a black iron pan. But now they changed to a regular plate. Temp wise is still hot enough. But the portion is smaller. One good thing though is it still comes with plenty of seafood.

This place is my new favorite restaurant, we have visited 5 times in the last month and a half, we originally went because a friend of mine gave me a giftcard, it was fun to try something new, each time I have gone I have ordered the same thing, the Filet Minon, med rare, with there garlic mashed potatoes, we have also ordered there Roasted cuban bread, its amazing, hubby has ordered the wood grilled top sirloin med rare, and my son has had the ribs, all perfect everytime. Hubby has also ordered the chicken tortilla soup and loved it, the ambience is awesome, its fun, and a great place to eat. The drink the Milimbo is soo good, definately a good place to eat.

I tried this once in Texas and hated it then but decided to give it a 2nd try in Michigan a few months ago ... mistake, never again! My husband and I ordered the Lobster seafood Paella special for 2. Yes it said for TWO. It was over $30.00 so we definitely expected it for 2. I wondered why the waitress asked us if we were sure that we only wanted one. We soon found out why she asked that. The paella rice was a serving for 1, there was 2 small pieces of deep fried lobster that we thought was fish (didn't even taste like lobster), about 6 teeny tiny (smallest I've ever seen) scallops, and a few tiny shrimp. I had to ask the waitress where the lobster was and she then explained that what we thought was fish was lobster. My husband and I kept digging around in the paella looking for seafood. Really? It shouldn't have been called "FOR 2" when the serving was so small. We really felt ripped off walking out of there after paying over $30 for enough food for one and hungry.

Only great things to say. I have always seen this restaurant but this is the first time we decided to try (as P.F. Chang's accross the street had 1.25 hr wait). We arrived and it was packed, really crazy and busy, they also told us there is about 1 hr wait but we were lucky and found some tables free at the bar. So we got table right away, it was very close to the kitchen, which at first I thought is a minus (very loud) but then we really enjoyed watching all the dishes getting ready, all the drinks mixed up - it was lots of fun. They have so delicious drinks (great prices), must try! We ordered salad with fish and chicken curry dish. The food was really good, except for 2 things: my salad contained marinated/grilled pepper (I do not like marinated vegetables, it could have been freshly grilled). And the other dish had a piece of chicken that was raw. So it was a little dissapintment. But otherwise, just watching all stuff so super busy but so friendly was nice surprise. At the end we ordered "Chocolate Pineapple Upside Down Cake" (for 5.99 USD) that was the best cake I have ever had in my life! Will definately return here!

Paella was ok. Not extraordinary. Lots if shrimp and scallops. Cheesecake was good, but tasted just like any ordinary cheesecake. Nothing special. Decent meal I would recommend trying one of their speciality dishes instead. Not a bad place, but nothing that really WOWed me.

This place is a complete piece of garbage. I didn't read the reviews of this place until after we tried to go there, apparently we're not the only ones that think that way. Had an estimate of a 15 min. wait, and ended up waiting 90 min. before throwing in the towel. The entire staff was moving slow and not at all concerned with our experience. Almost made it in but "the Manager" told the hostesses to stop seating the place, there were plenty of open tables but they were not being sat. I've worked in the restaurant business for a long time (25 + years off & on). This place was a total shit show. Never again.

Definitely meh chain overall but there is some tastyish food to be found in there if you look hard enough. First off the mojtos and non alcoholic lemon breezes are awesomely good. I also quite like the capirinhas. Mmmm I do love sugar cane juice and citrus, lime in particular. They never mess up these items thank goodness. They also carry red stripe which sort of puts me in a Jamaican reminisce. As far as food... apps and soups for my money are the best way to go. Most apps are big enough to be sharable. Tasty fire roasted jerk shrimp in garlic thyme butter with cuban bread for dipping works, misnamed as it is not really jerk but I am not quibbling. I also like the spicy habanero wings but I had a bad batch on my last visit which makes me sad. I like the goat cheese and the crab, mango and avocado stack ok too. I had crab claws in there which were truly awful though, they were cold with tasteless congealed sauce. The brothy chicken tortilla, creamy seafood chowder and the black bean soups are all generally tasty. I am usually inclined to like black bean, but I ask for some finely diced onion and hot sauce to jazz it up though as sometimes it is not as seasoned as I like. I can also do a tropical fruit and grilled chicken salad here but I do really want to know what is so exotic about strawberries, red grapes, mandarin oranges and grocery store type pineapple. It will do but I would hardly call it island flair. They add goat cheese which always makes me happier so I refrain from harrassing the waitstaff about their poor naming of the creation. I had a couple bites of warm chocolate pineapple upside down cake I really liked in there one night too. I thought the dulce de leche cheesecake another night was meh. Every other dinner or lunch item I have tried off the regular menu has just not hit my tastebuds. It is a rather bland dumbed down version of island food as a general rule. I agree with the person who cited Florida. It definitely feels more like that. Mostly we come in with friends who love it here, I don't mind terribly but it is not what I would pick.

For a carribean restaurant they should have better carribean food. It feels like who ever makes the menu knows nothing about cooking carribean foods. It's compared to the taco bell of Mexican food. This is the fast food carribean at fancy place with expensive prices. They need balck beans, they need fried plantains they need real paella. They use the same rice for every dish and the rice is very generic and bland. The appetizers are the best thing on the menu. The atmosphere is great but the food is junk.

I'm not even sure why I gave it 2 stars. I guess it was the groovy music and the Avocado in my soup. My husband and I each ordered a beer. When the waitress dropped them off we ordered a couple appetizers. I picked up my beer and it was slimey. Like someone greased it with olive oil or something. I though it was weird but we wiped them off with our napkins and went on with our dinner. She did drop off the wrong beer for my husband but we didn't see her again until after the apps were brought out. The waitress ran by our table and tossed two small plates on our table for the appetizers. They had food all over them. Not the kind that the dishwasher missed but fresh food. Cheese and crumbs. She ran by our table so quick that we couldn't stop her. She came back with our appetizers and was going to drop them off and run until we stopped her. My husband asked for another beer but asked her to bring the right one this time. She said they don't have it anymore and thats why she brought the other one. She also told us they took it off tap. (we ordered bottles) She said she would check and started to run off again. I stopped her and asked for some clean plates. She looked confused and then realized she dropped off dirty ones. She snached them up and said she would get clean ones and check on the beer. I stopped her AGAIN and asked if she could also take our dinner orders. She was confused like she didn't realize we wanted dinner. She took our order and then yelled at another waitress across the room while standing at our table to ask about the beer. The girl was so far away that she couldn't understand so the waitress walked away from our table to talk with her. She came back several minutes later to tell us that they ran out of my husbands beer and would he like something else. He ordered a different drink and she left. Now ALL this time our appetizers are sitting on the table with no plates getting cold. We waited another 5 minutes and just started picking at them off the plates. Not that big of a deal usually but the service to this point had been so bad that I was a little grumpy about it. She finally delivered the clean plates along with my husband new beer. We ordered some fried Yucca and the pieces were so randomly seasoned that it was kind of a crap shoot. Some were so salty that they were inedible. The chorizo sliders were tasty but the mustard aoli was haphazardly squirted on half the bun. Our dinner came out and it was just okay. Nothing special. Nothing to race back and have again. After writing this review I'm pretty sure we won't be back for dinner again. I hate chains anyway.

I love the food, but the service leaves something to be desired. The jerk chicken is especially good. Service is decently timely but the staff seems uninterested. On our most recent visit our server was too busy chatting with the other staff to get our salads, so we got them at the same time as our meal.

I love the size and the overall theme of this place. The location is great and it's in the mist of several other eateries. The restaurant has a built in fire place. The service and hostess are great. They were very informative on the menu. Coupled service with the food made me want to go back and I did. They truly invested in their Caribbean theme.

It was my first time being at this restaurant in quite some time and I think it will be quite a while before I'll have the want to run back. We met some friends here for dinner and I was grossly underwhelmed. We chose to sit in the patio area, which is seat yourself style. We started with their house beer, the "Aruba Red.' Either they had just changed the keg, or they need to start keeping their beer coolers at a lower temperature. Then we had the island spinach dip, which was pretty run of the mill. Not bad, but nothing special. The true disappointment were the island ribs. These ribs were VERY overcooked, very dry and actually unappetizing. There was definitely not enough sauce and I was grossly disappointed. Didn't help that the full rack was 18.99. Service was ok and from what I understand my dining companions had better meals. I won't be back soon.

Found this place to be average. I ordered the pulled pork sliders. I wish the pork had been dipped in the sauce. I poured it on but it was pretty bland. I really like their menu of non-alcoholic drinks. I went for lunch at 11:30 and place was empty on a Thursday. But by the time we left it was pretty full. Parking was adequate. If you go in the evening on a weekend parking is difficult.

Love the tropical theme of Bahama Breeze and the food is even better. Salmon was cooked perfectly with lemon-garlic butter. Had pulled pork as an appetizer and it reminded me of the pulled pork I had during my Hawaii honeymoon. Also tried the coconut crusted onion rings that were enormous and full of flavor. Servers were very prompt and refilled our drinks before they were even half gone. Definitely will be going back!

I'd first gone here a few years ago and was in no hurry to go back. It just hadn't impressed me much. I took my daughter and headed out during a blizzard a couple days before Christmas to meet a few friends, and everything was fabulous! I started off with a Bahama-rita, and the waitress was even kind enough to ask if she could get food started for my daughter (happy toddler = happy mama!). While I was waiting for my friends, several of the wait staff stopped to say a few words to my daughter, and she was kept pleasantly entertained. This really adds points in mom-land! Once everyone arrived, we had the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was wonderful! Not sure exactly what made it different than most, but it was super-yummy. I had the shrimp and lobster pasta for dinner and loved every bite. The serving was large enough that I also had it for lunch the next day and there was still plenty of meat left (I'm notorious for picking the meat out over dinner, and then having pasta left over...). The only thing I could possibly think to change would be the kids' menu. It was very sparse. I think they had chicken fingers, mac and cheese and one other thing that I've forgotten. I ended up ordering cheese quesadillas for my little monster. She loved them, but I ended up paying over $7 for the appetizer instead of a $4 kids' meal - yikes! Good thing she's cute :) I regret that I didn't catch her name, but our waitress was fantastic. She left her cool light up pens for my daughter to play with for a while and kept checking back to see if she needed anything. And she never set a hot dish in front of the toddler. I hope when we go back we have such great service again.

I like Bahama Breeze, even when it's still a bit chilly outside. They have a solid menu and lots of tropical foo-foo drinks. For us manly men they offer a good selection of about 6 draft beers and many more brands as bottles. As Jackie said, perfect place for dinner and a movie. I last visited this restaurant on a Friday night during Lent. Since they do feature a large seafood menu it was quite busy as expected. You can do call-ahead reservations and so I tried this for the first time. The person on the phone said it was a 45-minute wait so we waited about 30 minutes and arrived to check in. We were told at that point it would still be another 20 minutes or so which was accurate. If you've never been to this place there are two distinct sections of the building, each with their own bar. If you want to find a place to sit down go through the other set of front doors to the left and you might find open seats at the bar there and/or on the couches and chairs in the lobby on that side. Despite the place being very busy we still had good service. The spinach dip with nacho chips was a delicious appetizer. My wife had the fresh fish of the day and thought it was well prepared and very tasty (she got it jerk style in honor of me, LOL). I had the "smaller portion" of the Chicken Santiago which actually was the perfect size for me. I really liked the red pepper sauce it came with. This place is even better in the summer time on a warm day. The food is always good but it sure feels nice (and more justified) to have a frosty foo-foo drink with all the sunshine streaming in and a nice breeze to carry all the excellent smells of summer throughout the restaurant!

We were a party of 6, just after work (6pm) on a Thursday. With one exception (see below), service was prompt, attentive & friendly. I had one of their signature dishes: the Jerk Chicken Pasta, and truly enjoyed it. The chicken was spicy enough for the desired 'kick', but not overpowering. The mushrooms and pasta were properly cooked - and the server questioned if I wanted the dish without asparagus before I asked (this must be a frequent request). There may have been a little too much cream sauce, but I add this comment pretty much as an afterthought. This is not the restaurant for a hungry vegetarian. When asked about vegetarian options, our server pointed out some appetizers and side dishes. Even after being asked about rice dishes, our server had no suggestions, and didn't offer to check with the kitchen for a meatless alternative. (This is the service fault mentioned in the opening paragraph.) Our friend ended up with 2 apps and a side of rice/beans, none of which appeared substantive, or even yummy. Our table also ordered Ribs (the lean slabs were larger than the plate, came with extra sauce on the side), Coconut Shrimp, and another pasta dish (with shrimp). Everyone was happy with their order, and some ribs were boxed up for a hungry spouse at home.

The reviews on this place are very hit and miss...some over seasoned, some bland, some too much, some not enough...I sure hope the management take the time to review and make the necessary adjustments! My experience has always been very good at Bahama Breeze, and at least helped to make me feel I was somewhere tropical and warmer. The service we experienced was ok, nothing to write home about but decent. We got what we ordered as we ordered it, and in a fairly reasonable amount of time. The pseudo calypso/Reggie performer was pretty good, but the poor guy looked like he wanted to off himself if he had to "sing that darn song" one more time. I looked at him and wondered if the dreads were real, or clip on. I sat wondering if this guy was actually an engineer by day who moonlighted as an islander by evening! The prices were on the high side, but the food flavorful. The Aruba Red beer was ok, but did have some odd metallic taste. But like the trooper I am, drank it all and ordered another, just to be sure. The appetizers are huge, one of the diners at my table ordered that one and WOW, enough for two, really! The ultimate pina colada's are pretty amazing too, but you better like coconut! I will be back!

On a trip to Detroit, our friends invited us to join them at Bahama Breeze. It was lunch time and Summer so we tried out some of their cool, fruity drinks. Yum! The food was not memorable and high in calorie counts, so it is not really that healthy. The atmosphere is definitely calypso island style, which is nice but gets old quick. Try getting a salad

Atmosphere Yes, it's kitschy, but it's fun. I really like eating out in the screened in porch-esque area. The humidity, music and temperature really made me think I was somewhere tropical and touristy, maybe Florida, but not quite The Bahamas. Both times I've eaten there have been in the summer, so it may be a different experience in the winter. There is only a wait-list for the dining room, though, and the porch-thing is every group for themselves. We scoped the scene and there were no open tables so my parents and I hung out and stalked the area. I felt like a vulture and I was staring people down who looked like they were finishing their meal. There has to be a better, fairer way to seat that area. I'm not sure why they don't just treat it like the rest of the establishment. Food I had the salmon pasta and it was actually really good! I was pleasantly surprised. The salmon was VERY moist and, dare I say, the best mid-priced salmon dish I had a in a long time. My father tried some of the fish and wished he had ordered it. He had some sort of shiskabob meal that he liked, but my father is not difficult to please. My mom had the Smothered Pork Tenderloin and said it was a little dry, but otherwise good. Evidently, I had the best dish and the other two were good, but not great. Drinks They seemed to have a wide selection, but it was almost difficult to differentiate between them all. There are only so many tropical, mainstream drinks you can offer before the difference only becomes a splash of OJ or a pineapple garnish. Good drinks, but nothing special. Staff Both times our servers were good. The first time, the food was really slow, but the second was much better. The live musicians out on the porch-thing were very talented, but the music was a bit too loud and it was hard to hold a conversation.

The ambiance is very fun and airy. It's a solid spot to change it up as long as you don't mind the long wait for the so so tasting , not-so-healthy cuisine. The coconut shrimp is great though. Additonally, the drink menu is very nice, mon. I consider it an asset to have this place in close proximity for whenever I get that carribean craving; however, I won't be remiss if I don't make there frequently. Also it helps if you've been to the caribean to appreciate some of the menu items and decor.

5 star food but spotty service and tired atmosphere. The food here is delicious. We've tried a number of things on several visits and been satisfied with the majority of them. They are somewhat inconsistent in their delivery though of menu staples (which we've also ordered several times), which is sad. Their specialty drinks are phenomenal in terms of deliciousness - (with added note that mixed alcohol concentration is usually average, even still, drinks=delicious). Especially the Ultimate Pina Colada. The service is friendly but sparse. They have a ton of people on staff, but they are almost never around and seem to forget about you after your food is delivered, and ESPECIALLY when you are ready to leave and waiting on your check. It never fails. Every time you are done with your meal it is at least ten more minutes before your server shows back up with the check. The atmosphere is tired. They haven't updated their look in over a decade. In colder months, it is always freezing in there, no matter where you sit. The fire on the patio is nice, but it's usually been reserved for private parties the times we've been there that it's been in operation. In warmer months, it runs hot in the restaurant (they don't use the A/C much). If they could just deliver a little more consistently with their food quality, they'd instantly gain another star (which would offset the service star loss).

Unless you're hankerin' to eat at a salt lick, give this place a miss. I've tried them on three different occasions, and all three times, one or more people in my party had to return food that was so salty it was literally inedible. Couple the horrible cooking with indifferent and poorly trained wait staff and you've got the worst restaurant in the Livonia area.

Going into this place, especially when it was novel, felt like entering an amusement park. The lay-out was exciting and conceptually unique. The problem with Bahama Breeze is that it's all substance, with little form. There is some decent food, but the drinks are weak and the service slow. Worst of all, if you go on the weekend, you're likely to have to listen to some Jimmy Buffet impostor that will make you feel like you've really stepped on a pop-top. Me? I wanna just cruise on back home.

Service was remarkably bad. It took over 10 minutes to get our drink order taken, then another 10-15 minutes for two waters and one tea to come to our table. The waiter forgot our appetizer as well. My soup came out with my meal. The seafood chowder was really good though. Fish tacos were also delicious. My friends ordered braised beef and they seemed to like it, but imho it looked to me like someone already ate it lol.

All I wanted was a decent Paella. Not a great one. Just something passable for seafood here in the midwest. One like I have actually managed to get at this particular establishment up until, apparently, tonight. First thing I noticed upon sitting down is that the menu is a bit streamlined. No more Ahi tuna dishes for "quality problems" per the server. I am glad they have standards - they need to enforce them in other areas too. The paella I am used to from Bahama Breeze is full of perfectly done chicken, sausage, mouthful sized scallops and shrimp, and good mussels, all served in a nearly creamy, flavorful, rice with peas, etc. The paella I got tonight was flatlined on the flavo-meter. Just salty, fishy, runny broth on some suspectly orange rice (When I say fishy here, I mean bad fishy, not the bouquet of fresh ocean fare). All the proteins were way overdone. The scallops were not much bigger than pencil erasers, and the shrimp were bite sized at best. The sausage was hard little cuboids that had the consistency of my dog's Beggin' Strips. For all the different pieces-parts going in, this dish was remarkably one-dimensional on the business end: Bad. Redemption came in the form of some excellent soups on the front end of our meal. The chicken tortilla soup is NOT the creamy processed cheese-food product stuff you get at a chain mexican restaurant. It was great - hints of lime accenting the aromatic broth full of potatoes, carrots, and nicely prepared grilled chicken. Garnished with an avacado, and lots of tortilla strips. A little heat worked its way into the mix via some medium-hot peppers (poblano?). The seafood chowder was great too. Shrimp and clams in a rich potato cream base. Great flavor mix and texture. The service was excellent - I actually saw a server run into the parking lot following customers out to their car with their forgotten leftover boxes (Have you ever?)!!! Our server cheerfully helped replace the top bun of a co-diner's sandwich with fresh toasted baguette (my co-diner neglected to decline the default mustard application to her short-lived dismay). Said server kept my seive-like ice tea glass full despite my best efforts to the contrary. She also did the little things I like, such as grabbing up little bits of garbage like used sugar envelopes on her way by. 1 star for the paella - never again. 5 stars each for the soup and service. Busting out my slide rule again, and applying a weighting factor (I did go there for paella, after all), we come to an average of 3 stars for the visit. Cheers.

Coconut shrimp brings me in. 9 delicious morsels on top of a bed of yellow rice with a side of broccoli. You can't beat that on a hot day when it feels like the Caribbean but sure doesn't look it. My husband and I enjoyed a couple of fruity cocktails, an appetizer of chicken wings that were quite large and flavorful, and a dessert of Island Chocolate. The dessert deserves a review of 5 stars on its own. Our server, Melissa, was attentive and professional and made the evening a joy. I loved the music too. Just because it's a chain, doesn't mean it can't be good.

Come here for two things: the onion rings and the drinks. The food is overpriced and not that great, but the drinks and the atmosphere is worth a stop!

Ok food but too expensive for the quality. Been there a couple times and the server experience is hit or miss. Sitting at the bar is much better and drinks are well made as well.

Pretty good food. I really love shrimp so this is a good place to come, the coconut shrimp is really good. They also have really fun tropical drinks. A little light on the vegetarian options.

My husband and I went on a recent trip to Jamaica for our honeymoon, so we decided to go here last Sunday as this is the closest we're going to get to anything Caribbean for a while! It was nice that day and we wanted to sit outside, but they had not opened up the porch area yet. We also had to wait about 30 minutes for a table though the restaurant was half empty on one side and no one was out on the porch yet ~ I assume this was due to lack of staff then. We sat at the bar to get a drink while we waited for our table. He had Red Stripe (like I said, we were pretending we were in Jamaica again!) and I had a regular margarita on the rocks. Our bartender was attentive anyway. At the table we got the spinach dip/chip appetizer (very yummy!). I had the jerk chicken pasta and husband had the rice piaya (eek, spelling?) with all the meats. I tried his and it was tasty. I was disappointed with the jerk chicken pasta...it just didn't have that slight spicy bite I was looking for. I generally don't like spicy foods, but jerk seasoning seems to have a slight and tolerable bite which I like occasionally. Maybe the cream sauce in the pasta drowned it out. I don't know. Our waitress was a bit blah and unattentive....seemed like she just wanted us to get out of there. To me there's no excuse not to check on a table at least once and see how things are tasting, but maybe that's just me. I contemplated tipping very little but I just can't bring myself to do it, even when the service is that sucky. We'll go back, as BB is right near our house, and hopefully just not get that same server.

We ate here last night. It was our second trip to this restaurant. The service was good and the food was great! The cocktails were excellent too.

Oh Bahama Breeze! From fab decorations to great food and everything in between, this place is something I miss! It's location is great. It's in the same parking lot as the AMC 20 so it makes for a good evening of dinner and a movie. They do have valet, but c'mon! It's Livonia, not LA. Plus the parking lot is right there. It's one of the more unique places around the area and can be seen from the road. The food is unique and in a good way. Jerk chicken is a must try for anyone who hasnt been or have yet to try it. They have other good dishes for reasonable prices and their fries are delicious. Their drink selection is another reason I come here. They have a variety of great non-alocoholic drinks and a book full of fun tropical alcholic drinks. The Bahamarita is their most famous and definatly recommend trying it! The decorations are great and the covered patio with music is nice for waiting for a seat. They have outdoor seating but honestly cannot be used for most of the year due to Michigan's weather. Overall, a nice place for food and drinks with a group and close to the movies and a short distance from the mall. I enjoy coming here because of the memories (Paco our waiter at homecoming in high school, ect) and the appeal of food that isnt just a hamburger.

Bahama Breeze, like other reviewers before me have pointed out, is a Caribbean themed restaurant that seems to specialize in... what else? Seafood. Of course, they do have other things on the menu so if you're not instantly enticed to go there - don't worry. Overall this place seemed to set a nice tone and atmosphere. I was digging the dark lighting and the kind of upscale setting. However, not so upscale that people felt inclined to remove their baseball hats. You could see a wide range of people dining here - the old couple on a date trying to rekindle their relationship, the family gathering of generations that haven't even met yet, and the high-school set with the dudes trying to impress the chicks by their fine selection of an eatery. It's all here, and I think that says a good thing about a place. Service was EXTREMELY friendly on all counts and seemed to be pretty attentive. It seemed that every person I interacted with was happy to be there and enjoying their job. My guess is that these people must be paid pretty well or they have a big dude with whips and chains in the back so they don't get out of line. Even as the dinner crowd started to pick up (we arrived shortly before the real dinner rush), service stayed on point and our table was never left looking for our server or someone to bring us something. These folks are on top of their game. The food came out nice and still warm, it seemed like it was decently fresh because it did take a little while for it to come out. The other two people I was with ordered some seafood stuff (tilapia and coconut shrimp) while I ordered the smaller portion of Jamaican Chicken. I am happy that I ordered the smaller portion, because it was still pretty friggin' huge. I had to take home my side items to finish later. The other dishes, not the smaller portions, were absolutely monstrous and I can't fathom someone eating it all in one sitting. Well, then again, yes I can. Apparently it was all good though. My dish was nice and seemed to be expertly prepared. The mashed sweet potatoes on the side were really good the first couple bites and then they lost some of their luster... the chicken was perfectly cooked, seasoned well, and not drowned in sauce to cover it up - so big props. Considering the amount of food you get for the prices here, I'd call this place a decent value. It's definitely not along the lines of frugal living, but unless you ordered something and hated it, you shouldn't feel ripped off at all. Bahama Breeze is a nice switch up from the typical chain restaurants. They have great service, an appealing menu, strong drinks, and an appealing interior. I'd flip the script every once in a while and pop in here when I know it's going to be slow.

On more recent visits I've now fallen in love with their Coconut Shrimp and the Citrus-Mustard dipping sauce is a wonderful accompaniment.

I don't know how anyone can give this place less than 4 stars at least. Out of all the restaurants I've been to this is my favorite. Excellent food and you get a lot of bang for your buck, at very reasonable prices, compared to other restaurants that serve similar items.

A good change of pace. Enjoyable environment. The food being unique is the strength. No one in our group was amazed by the cooking quality. The recipes deserve a 4 star but execution was not up to the level of the idea.

Just went here for my first time a couple weeks ago. I ordered the fish tacos, which were excellent. Service was ok, had to flag someone down to get a re-fill. Looking forward to going there once it warms up for some food and drinks.

The food is good. It's a fun place, live entertainer singing in one room, and the decor is really cool (island vibe). Last trip had awful service, though, Asked for a Bloody Mary made spicey. I was served an expensive top-shelf, pepper-infused vodka, when all I asked for was extra spices. Waitress said sorry but didn't change the bill. Bartender said I was right and apologized but did not adjust the bill. For a couple of bucks, I did not demand money back, but clearly they should have offered. Good help can be hard to find, but this is still a cool place.

I am going to keep this review short and sweet. My friend just mentioned this restaurant today, and I literally started salivating at the mouth. I am absolutely in love with the drinks at Bahama Breeze. The meals are good, but honestly I only attempt to head out this way when I am craving a Bahamarita. *sigh*. It is excellent! I don't even know what type of alcohol is in it, but after two I feel like I am in a sweet heaven. I would also recommend the mojito's as well.

I love the food and I love the environment (it really cheers me up in the winter). But I have no idea why these people have a bar in the middle of the restaurant...because if you have more than one drink they treat you like you're a raging alcoholic. I decided to go here with my friends for my 21st birthday...big mistake. The bar staff is horrible. I'm not a drinker and neither are my friends, and we were quiet and respectable. I was kind of shy to order my first drink so I asked my friend to call over the bar tender and ask for me. The bar tender looked at me and said "What are you, 4?" in a really cold way. I had 3 drinks in 2 hours, and I was just having a good time with my friends, we were just talking amongst ourselves and we weren't loud or rowdy at all, and the rest of the bar was empty, it was just us. When I ordered another drink, the bartender nodded her head and acted like she was going to fix me a drink. 20 minutes went by, no drink. I asked her a second time, she did the same thing. 10 more minutes went by, no drink. My fiance then asked for the third time, she nodded her head yes and went to the other side of the bar. After 15 more minutes, my friend decided to call over another bar tender and ask her what was going on. She turned to me and told me "One of my staff members said that you are acting intoxicated and we can't serve you anymore drinks, sorry". Everyone who was with me was shocked. I wasn't even close to being intoxicated, all I was doing was sitting there and having a conversation with my friends at the bar on my birthday. Nobody could believe it. So my friend (who is experienced in bar tending, waitressing, and general customer service) said "this is ridiculous, let's get out of here". We went down the street to TGI Friday's, and I had a great time from there on. The bar tenders at Bahama Breeze were so rude and snobby. When we first walked in there my friend asked if they did anything special for birthdays, since it was my 21st, and they gave her such a dirty and nasty look just for asking. I wouldn't recommend going there to celebrate anything because their sour attitude will ruin it, but if you just want to get a meal, they're good (expensive, but good).

Bland everything. Bland food, bland service. Tired decor. Overpriced for lunch. If you want good fish in the same price range as this dump, go down the street about a mile and visit Mitchells, you will not be disappointed.
