Great relaxing Dinner!!! Chicken Piccata was very good! Jerry had Chicken Parmigiana which was very tasty! Waiter was friendly and we didn't have to wait for good service!

The bartenders were great, the food was good. I was only here for a group event, but would like to come back to try the regular menu. And I will!

Today my sister and I decided to stop into this Andiamo after her Dr. Appointment. We were greeted by Daniel and helped into the restaurant by him we were offered our choice of tables and given a rundown of the specials by our fantastic server Brittany. She informed us of the Pasta Amore special which has a lovely selection of starters, entrees and dessert starting at $15.95. There were two of us today so we ordered the greens salad with kale instead of mixed greens the Italian wedding soup the spinach ravioli and raspberry sorbet paired with an Andiamo specialty cannoli. To drink I ordered a warm water with lemon and a Atwater Blonde beer in a chilled glass. My sister had the same minus the beer. The staff and retiring exceeded all expectations and we will defiantly be coming back to visit our new friend Brittany who does a great job and has only been here for a few shifts after training. The food, atmosphere and staff have made this a must visit for days that we need a little bit of cheering up. Best~Robert

My husband recently surprised me for my birthday and took me here for dinner. I had been wanting to try it for quite some time. I'm so glad that he did! The food was delicious and the staff was extremely kind. Our waiter Daniel, was by far the best waiter I've ever had at any restaurant I've been to. He was kind, attentive, funny and skilled at his craft. He deserves major praise for doing a fantastic job with customers. We tipped him 30% and I only wish we could have done more. He made the experience here top notch. I would definitely recommend.

Where to start? I love andiamo's. In Rochester Hills. In St Clair Shores. Their other locations... Just not this one! Which is a shame, as we live very nearby. The food seems one dimensional, thus plain. Even though many choices on the menu are similar to the other restaurants - the execution is totally different. I like the modern, classy, "upscale" feel of the dining room, but unfortunately I feel the service is cold and distant, a far cry from warm and attentive. If you have never been to an Andiamo restaurant, I suggest to try a different location, as most likely your opinion will be tainted visiting this particular one.

My sister and her husband made an impromptu visit to the area. They wanted Italian for dinner so Andiamo was the only place I could think of. I don't usually eat Italian and if I'm going to eat it, I'll just make my own at home because it's usually superior to any restaurant. Not to brag but if you use fresh ingredients instead of canned and boxed goods, it will be tasty. We walked in and asked for a table. The hostess seemed flustered even though it wasn't busy. She asked for a last name for our party and for a minute I thought she was going to make us wait (the restaurant was maybe 20% full). Then she asked for a first name. Then she grabbed menus (only two and there were three of us) and seated us. First off, I know it's cold outside but damn it was freezing! My sister wore her coat the whole time and I wish I could have. It literally felt like we were sitting outside. Our waiter came over after about minutes and asked if we wanted something to drink. He was horrifically slow, really awkward, and just all around a poor server. I got the crab stuffed shrimp for dinner. It came with a salad. To start, the salad was full of browning lettuce. Okay, if you are trying to make yourself seem upscale and you serve nasty lettuce, game over. The dressing was pretty bland. They served complimentary bread which was pretty good, not spectacular but fine. My dinner was....well, it was. Three shrimp. That's it. All of three shrimp for $30. I was still really hungry when I finished my entrée. My sister and I split the tuxedo cake for dessert. I typically do not eat dessert but because I was nowhere near full, I ate it. It was pretty good, again, nothing spectacular. It took over 20 minutes to come out from the kitchen even though I'm sure it was prepared beforehand. The total bill came out to be $130 for three entrées, wine, and beer. The server set the check in front of my sister's husband even though my name was on the table and I had made it clear from the beginning that I was the one paying. It was just awkward.

I would give this restaurant a 3.5 if I could. For the price I was expecting better quality food. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great either. Came here for my moms birthday and it's a great ambiance to have a nice dinner with the family. We ordered calamari to share and I ordered the soup of the day and the mushroom risotto. The calamari was probably the best part of my meal. It was breaded perfectly and I would suggest getting the sauce on the side because it was nice to be able to dip it in. The soup of the day was a chicken and shiitake mushroom soup with corn. It tasted like a cream of chicken soup and it was good, but again not great. The risotto tasted good, but it was a little too heavy for me. I feel it would be better offered as a side rather than a meal.

A meal at Andiamo's is always a treat, a place to mark special moments for dinner or to catch up with a good friend at lunch. This occasion was no different. The meal was well-prepared and, from start to finish, service was polished, helpful and friendly. The restaurant is divided into several rooms: a bar area with live entertainment on certain nights, a dining area decorated in rich jewel tones, and a more private area for larger groups. There were many appetizing items on the menu. But when I'm here, I plan my meal around dessert, the Kit Kat bar, a chocolate mousse creation with thin crunchy chocolate layer and a chocolate ganache coating. This dessert is absolutely divine. My friend and I typically check in with the restaurant at the start of the meal to ensure that this dessert is waiting for us. But I'm getting ahead of myself. To start, I enjoyed the calamari which was coated in a light, crunchy and seasoned batter and was served with three different dipping sauces. Each was delicious: a room-temperature sauce with chunks of tomatoes, a warm lemon butter emulsion with capers, and a warm and spicy tomato sauce. The entrée featured sea scallops, a cheesy corn mixture, and wilted spinach. The scallops were seared but did not have the crunchy crust that searing usually produces. The sweet scallops nicely complemented the sweet and savory cheesy corn mixture. In other words: deliciousness on a plate. Note: soup or salad is also available with the meal. Pasta also comes with most entrées so I got to sample some (Gemelli) in a meat sauce. Since it bears repeating, service was polished, helpful and friendly. The wait staff anticipated each request and orchestrated a delightful dining experience.

There are many wonderful dishes on the menu, and I've never been disappointed . The filet with zip sauce is delicious but I think I love the scallops the most. Everything is always plated beautifully. As someone who has eaten my way through the dessert menu at nearly every nice restaurant in Detroit, I still can't find anything better than the KitKat with raspberry sauce. Their knowledge of wine has been very helpful because I am a novice but I know what I like when I taste it. This evening, I went into the bar area because there was live music. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and he seemed to know everyone around the bar quite well. Younger and older couples alike, seem to enjoy the experience. I was by myself but I didn't feel alone, everyone was very friendly. The live music was good, and wasn't intrusive or excessive.

I've been to probably all of the Andiamo's in the area including to the concert venue in Warren. The Bloomfield one is the one I wont return to as they did not honor a reservation when we were there on time because they had a high profile athlete wanted where we were being placed. Anyway, I got a gift card for Christmas and thought OK, lets go to the one in Livonia. The food was excellent, I had the Rib Eye steak cooked in their Sicilian way. You have to ask for it, it is not on their menu. It was delicious! My mother had a pasta dish and she really enjoyed it. I probably will return to Andiamo's Livonia again, I will just stay clear of Bloomfield where the beautiful people hang. Very good service and food.

This past Tuesday, April 7th, my husband and I were celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We had originally gone to Gauchos Brazilian Steakhouse across the street. We arrived at Gauchos over an hour before closing time, but the female assistant manager made us feel very unwelcome and was very vocal to the host who seated us, so we decided to leave, we did not want to feel rushed. We drove across the street to Andiamo's. We were greeted very warmly by the friendly hostess, who seated us. Our waitress, Sarah, was amazing!! She was sweet and friendly, so attentive and she provided us with a wonderful dining experience. She knew I was lactose intolerant and after dinner surprised us with a bowl of raspberry sorbet with strawberries and raspberries. She found a dessert I could enjoy, I was touched by her thoughtfulness!!Our wedding anniversary was memorable due her fantastic service.

Tonight my husband and I came to Andiamo because we received a gift card and wanted to use it. I have been to this location several times prior and although it always has been pretty good, today was exceptional. The meals, veal Marsala and filet were excellent. Large portions, fresh salad, delicious Manhatten clam chowder. The best part about it was our waiter, Chris. He was a very attentive, polite and professional waiter. He was always there when we needed something, yet not hovering, as perfect as a waiter could be. As a middle aged woman, a birthday is not very eventful any longer, but this was as nice an experience as I could ever expect to make for a great evening.

I found the Paglia e Fieno very tasty. My wife found Linguine Trattoria to be bland, the dish didn't contain enough of the advertised roasted peppers and onions.

Sorry Andiamo, I really would like to love you but I think we must part ways. We have given you several tries. You are in our neighborhood. We enjoy the ambience and the wine list but the service is unpredictable and the food is not what we find acceptable. The pasta is obviously precooked and warmed in hot water and the food never seems to be hot. I ordered shrimp scampi and three pieces of shrimp, really? Needless to say, arrivederci.

We booked a reservation on Open Table and it was so easy. We were seated 15 min prior to our reservation time. The food was good, hot and as expected. However, we were ther on Valentine's Day (one of the biggest dinner nights of the year) and we felt a little rushed by the staff. Everyone was prompt to serve us but we could've been in and out in an hour had we not taken our time. Anyways, service was excellent as was the food. great romantic ambiance

Not very good and over priced .My steak was cold and not tender . My husbands twin lobster tail dinner tasted like someone poured a cup of salt over the tails.Paid a lot of money for a small plate of food. Will not go back. DONT GO!!!

My wife has been bugging me to go there since her friend raved about the zip sauce. So we just ate there and I will report a pretty darn good meal. A solid 4 star indeed. First I will say our server was terrific, great personality and on the ball. The bread was homemade and fresh (still warm) and the marinara was excellent. I had the crab cake for an app and was very pleased, I will order this again for sure. The house salad dressing was a creamy Parmesan over mixed greens again very tasty. My entree was the filet with their famous zip sauce. The steak was served as perfect as can be with a great broiled crust cooked medium, as I asked. Now as I mentioned my wife was looking for the Holy Grail zip sauce and it was not found. Understand though, my wife is a big fan of the Classic "Mario's" of Detroit zip sauce. Mario's is quite a bit more pronounced in the saltiness department whereas Andiamos has a more savory flavor. I for one enjoyed it a lot. But as a child raised on Mario's I must give them the title in this bout. But This does not mean that Andiamos isn't great as well, because it is. I guess different palates have different preferences. All in all I would go back and I would tell others to as well. They have not been so successful in metro Detroit for so many years by chance. Nice job guys.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants so far. I had the surf and turf and a rigotoni appetizer. The steak was one of the best that I've ever had and I've been to Ruth's Chris, Flemings, Capital Grill etc. Good service and nice atmosphere a well.

May I be honest with you? Of course I can! I was not a fan of Andiamo. I had been to the Bloomfield Hills and Royal Oak locations and I just felt like it was overrated. I never got anything that I was head over heels for. The steak was good, the lasagna was tasty, the creme brulee delighted, but nothing to really come back and spend that much money on....that was until my trip to Italy. After Italy, I knew exactly what to order. So that Friday evening when we visited Andiamo, the Spaghetti Con Fruitti De Mare did not disappoint. The succulent shrimp and scallops, the delicious sauce...I was in heaven. I wanted a red wine from the Burnello region but they were sold out! I got one from Chianti and it did not disappoint! Did I mention the bread and butter??? The bread and butter was awesome. I was only disappointed when my waitress did not put my bread in the to-go box with my pasta. Nobody's perfect right? Whether you love Andiamo or just want to give it a try, check out this location for beautiful decor, great ambiance, and genuine Italian fare.

First time we came here in June 2014 the food was excellent and so was the service - our recent visit on Aug 14, 2014 however, was a major fail! First of all, the clam chowder was horrible... too salty. I generally like salty but this was excessive. Waitress never came and asked how my soup tasted. Also, waitress never told me it was going to be tomato-based... next the meatball appetizer was raw in the middle. Waitress initially tried to argue with me saying that the sauce gave it the raw appearance... I sent it back and got another one to take home. Next, both the risotto and the scottish salmon entrees were huge disappointments. The risotto my wife ordered just tasted bad... nothing else to describe it. The scottish salmon was a bit smaller than a pack of cards and was very bland. Not going here again... no consistency... guess I'm going back to the italian chain on big beaver for good italian

Unimpressive. The food was decent, maybe just slightly overpriced. Here are the downers: * Had reservations for six; they attempted to seat us at a table of five. Nope, gonna need six chairs, sorry. * Asked about beers on draft; got the (short) list. Selected a beer. Also selected a wine. Waiter returned and told us that the beer keg had already run out AND they were out of the wine as well. Revised our orders. * Service dropped way off after the dinners were delivered to the table. It was all we could do to get the leftovers boxed up and get out. Bottom line: in this region of metro Detroit you have many, many dining options, including multiple Italian places. I'll be going elsewhere next time.

I went here for an event sponsored by an outside entity called a 'wine tasting'. While it's not Andiamo's fault necessarily (although it was stated this is the 7th or 8th year hosting said event), calling it a "wine tasting" was sorely misleading. The wine was Andiamo's own label (house wine - ewh) and no info beyond, for example - "cabernet' (clearly it was a blend and a cool climate at that). But if you're hosting an event, don't you want to impress the guests with the great food you offer? The (supposed to be) hot food was some cheese ball of sorts and calamari. The cold was an assortment of bad cheese and fruit that quickly disappeared. Maybe people knew you couldn't go wrong with fruit. It was disappointing. Since the wine was so bad we got mixed drinks at the bar. Holy moly -- $12 for an Old Fashioned with Maker's Mark. Yowza. Impress me with an event you host to make me want to come back, don't take the cheapo route and make potential guests never want to return.

Birthday Buddy Time! I haven't been to an Andiamo's in several years. Salesmen used to entertain our company here all the time at the Sterling Heights location. All I remembered is how much I liked their Fillet Mignon, drizzled in their famous zip sauce. When Kenny suggested this restaurant my mouth started to water....mmmmm zip sauce. Okay, so I ordered the twelve ounce Fillet, prepared medium well with mashed potatoes. Ya, I know, not very creative. So what, I love meat, Fillet to be exact. Before our dinner came we chilled off our throats from a long day at work with a couple of microbrews(sorry don't remember which ones). Our salads arrived, nice house vinaigrette dressing. Not too much vinegar. Not bad with beer. Then our side of pasta arrived next. I forgot how good this pasta was. The sauce had some Parmesan cheese mixed in with a pinch of sugar to kill the acid taste. It had a nice sweet tomatoey taste. The pasta was aldante', perfect. I could have eaten a couple more plates of the pasta, but the best was yet to come. THE Fillet, oozing in zip sauce....wow, my mouth is watering again as I write this. It was nothing but perfect. Perfect grilled coating on the outside, perfect pink on the inside. Melt in my mouth. I read all of the reviews before me and not a single person mentioned the fillet. This is their signature steak. Excellent service! Our beer was cold and in chilled glasses. Our food was fairly fast as Kenny and I got caught up on the family happenings since last September(his birthday). Maybe because Kenny and I talk and kid around with the waitstaff they were very friendly and pleasant to us. Decor, dark. Bathrooms, clean. I wonder if I can get Kenny to back here again for my next birthday in one year.

2 words: horrible service. We arrived on a Sunday a couple minutes after 4pm. They open at 4pm on Sundays. When we arrived, we were seated and about 15 minutes later our server finally came over and asked us what we would like to drink. We gave him our drink order, and informed him that this was the firs time that we visited the restaurant. He never told us what appetizers were available, or explained their menu offerings. They opened at 4 but seemed very disorganized. If your restaurant opens at 4, then you should be ready to provide quality service....at 4. I should not be walking in right behind other servers as they arrive at work. Everyone should be there about 15-30 minutes early setting up. The food took a long time to come out. I did not get the spinach in my pasta like I asked to be added, but they still charged me $3.00. When I told them that there was no spinach, he told me there was. There was not. Also ordered a Kale Salad. Not once piece of kale in the salad. When we informed the server that there was no kale, he said he would ask the chef. He came back and said there was kale in the salad, and pointed to clearly obvious romaine lettuce. When we got the bill, it was listed as "Traverse City Salad"...which I believe was more expensive than the kale salad. When we told the waiter, he said he rang it up that way because the Kale Salad was not listed in their system...wtf? As a waiter you should explain this to customers, not the customer having to ask why you are being charged for something you did not order. We were never offered dessert. The manager also never checked to see how we were doing. He just stood by the doorway of the kitchen...staring. Also...ordered a Linguine Pasta dish and Fettucine Alfredo---both of which had ABSOLUTELY no flavor. The only reason I give this place one star is because 1) I had no other choice of stars lower than this and 2) because the gnocchi pasta was very good.

We have been several times and have had decent service. This last time was completely unacceptable. I made reservations for 6:15, we got there at 6. Seated right away, but it was about 20 minutes until we even ordered a drink, after my annoying hint to our hostess that we hadn't had a server. Our salads took another 25 minutes. Our waiter seemed good about it but the manager NEVER came over to check on us. I called tonight after our dining experience to give him a "chance" to be honorable and he said his "homecoming crowd for our local catholic HS threw them off". Ok...we are adults actually paying for one on one service and you are catering to teens...the food isn't that good, the service sucks and clearly management is not where I would expect it...time for a change Andiamo Livonia.

This is spendy but delicious. During the month of July they ran a buy one dinner get one free deal here. Of course I had to take advantage of that! We decided to go big and get the top of the line stuff. I love doing that with a half off deal because it gives you a chance to eat things you normally would not order because they are too spendy. Besides I am a risotto girl and I wanted the Risotto Fruitti Di Mare. My husband had the Filetto Di Manza. We both got soups which is common with us. A good soup will trump a salad selection every time. I had the special of the day, Mushroom aka Funghi, a delicious earthy dream. My husband had the Brodo Di Pollastra, a very light chicken broth with tiny pasta. I loved his, he liked it but said it was a bit too salty (perhaps from the two heaping spoonfuls of fresh parmesan he added). The bread that went with was perfect, crusty with a soft yet dense middle. It is served with an olive oil, herb and parmesan dip sauce that is heavenly. Then my husband had a small plate of rigatoni with meat sauce that precedes any meat based entree. The rigatoni was nicely al dente and the sauce was quite nice indeed. If you fall in love with it I believe they sell jars of it here as they do at some of the local upscale markets. I am not a huge meat sauce fan but this was very nice and James was quite fond of it too. My Risotto Fruitti Di Mare was filled with seafood. There were two extra large gulf shrimp, two gigantic diver scallops, three fresh mussels and a ton of calamari. It had lovely notes of basil and garlic in a marinara type style rice. It was the perfect texture, creamy and rich. The seafood was top notch as well. James ate the shrimp because there was no way I was eating all of that. His Filetto Di Manza was lovely, a quality filet with Andiamo zip sauce. It came with obviously homemade mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans. It was not huge but was perfect after soup and pasta. The steak was the correct doneness and had a good flavorful sear to it. James quite enjoyed it, but was really into my shrimp as well. The service was so very friendly and attentive. This is a white tablecloth, elegant place despite the yowza pimp purple color scheme. The waiter pulls your chair and puts a napkin on your lap kind of affair. Every note of service lives up to that atmosphere. The manager stops by to check on tables and is very warm and charming. You definitely feel cared for. A dropped fork is shortly followed by a replacement, tea and water glasses are kept full. At the end of our lovely meal, my leftovers are wrapped in a flash and we are treated to a look at the dessert tray. Tempting, so very tempting but definitely not happening after Risotto. The Cannoli looked lovely, there were several cakes, Tiramisu and the like but neither one of us could fit another bite. I highly recommend joining their e club and they will notify you off special deals, including buy one get one free some Monday nights, a real bargain. I would come back that or for a special occasion but this place is way out of my league for everyday dining. A small tip: dress nicely as you will feel more comfortable in dressy casual than short or t-shirts. My husband had on nice khakis and a button up and was appropriate for the crowd, the man in a beer t-shirt and wrinkled shorts looked quite awkward for the setting.

This location has a fabulous decor and ambiance. We were seated in a room that appeared to possibly be a room used for bigger groups. There was a door to the outside there, and it opened twice, causing us to be COLD. We were promised the door would not be open again and the manager joked we could have free drinks if it did. Later in the night, the door was opened, and we got our free drinks! :) Food was amazing. The pasta tasted homemade and the salad was perfect sized. Bread was awesome. Service was very friendly and attentive. No wait for a table with our reservation, valet parking was free and super fast. I really liked this location, may be my fav Andiamo's. Highly recommend.

The food ranged from blah to pretty good. My pasta (at an Italian restaurant!) was not very good. My steak was pretty good, but there was little consistency from one steak to the next for what it meant to be medium. The person sitting next to me ordered the exact same thing, and she couldn't eat hers. (We traded after they said they might be able to do something about it. "Might.") The service was a few rungs below the food. It was painfully slow at first, and several drink orders never arrived at all, or they were completely wrong (and late). Servers had to be reminded at least once for most drinks ordered. I want to say more nice things, but I can't really pick out the good from all the bad or mediocre. All in all, when a restaurant costs as much as this place does, you should expect - and they should deliver - a much better experience than what you will likely get if you go any time soon.

This is the last time...the last time I'm going to be suckered into thinking that "this time, it's going to be better" when it comes to Andiamo's. I haven't visited an Andiamo's establishment in at least 18 months, when one day last month an email from "Joe" arrives inviting me to come back with my Mille Gratzie Card and enjoy a $20 credit "with no strings attached". Well, I know better (at least I should know better) than to believe it so when I ventured into the Livonia location after work for Happy Hour I mentioned to the bartender my credit from "Joe". She proceeds to tell me that the credit won't apply to Happy Hour prices...I can order apps at full price and use the credit but I'll be charged full price. So much for "no strings attached". This is not welcomed news, but since I'm already seated at the bar, I figured what the Hell and I decide to have a steak dinner and I order a glass of House red. She proceeds to pour me about 1/4th of a glass of wine into an admittedly over sized wine glass (skimpy pour by any bar or restaurant standards). With pours like that, I decide one glass will be it for me. Bread and salad arrive and it's what you'd expect from a salad, no complaints. Crisp lettuce with vinegar and oil dressing, fresh ground pepper and parmesan cheese. Next comes a side of pasta. Bow tie pasta (is this even considered Italian..by anyone?) with a very, very greasy meat sauce. Awful! They couldn't manage to get the one Italian part of my meal right! Dinner arrives, large NY strip (asked for medium, a bit overcooked but no big deal), not the most tender steak I've ever had but ok, green beans cooked to perfection and their special potatoes that are burnt black on top. Average at best. Andiamo's misses the mark on many fronts. The place is empty yet they offer few deals (hey, it's Detroit and times are tough..we want deals!) and the offers they do promote come with too many strings attached. (Can't use your Mille Gratzie card, can't use your Costco gift card, can't can't can't). The Italian food, for the most part, is ok but so is the food at my local favorite family owned joint-at much more reasonable prices. Happy Hour pours are questionable (have you seen the pours at Roast? NICE!) and with Flemings just around the corner, it's "ciao" to Andiamo's for the last time...and this time I mean it!

Went last night. Group of 8. Waitress was attentive, and most of the group thought she was very good. We were all over the menu with what we ordered, and everyone was very happy with their choice. I did the chicken with Procuitto(sp)....very good. Prepared perfect. If I could change anything about the place, it is the size of the "side pasta" that comes with the meal. It is terribly small, and the pasta is soooo good, you want much more. We ordered wine, and found out it was 1/2 price Wednesdays, so that was a real nice surprise. Desserts were good. A bit pricey, but good. A manager and I assume an assistant both stopped by to make sure everything was good. I appreciate that. I would say that Andiamo Livonia is similar to Compari's in Plymouth and just a bit below Gratzi in AA and Lelli's in Auburn Hills.

I played it safe and ordered lasagna-- it was delicious. My husband ordered a veal entree and he was not so lucky. He claimed to enjoy it but my bite was disappointing. Our soups, minestrone and corn were average. The creme brulee was also average. Service was slow but pretty friendly. We probably won't return unless we have a discount or other offer to entice us. I would rather have Compari's.

I had been wanting to eat at an Andiamo for awhile now and finally got a chance. Unfortunately, my stop at Andiamo was after drinking wine all day (at the Michigan Wine Expo) and I could have eaten anything, including Taco Bell, and thought that it was amazing. Even if I was buzzed eating, the dinner was still amazing. We got there at 9 pm on a Saturday and were sat quickly. My boyfriend ordered me a pitcher of water and gave the waitress back the wine menu immediately. Then came the delicious bread and olive oil -- it was gone and refilled in less than 3 minutes. Next was our appetizer, Portabella Alla Griglia -- marinated portabella mushrooms in Andiamo's famous zip sauce. The zip sauce was amazing, as was the appetizer. After that we had salads and before your entree, you get a side of pasta. Lots of food consumed before your meal gets out. For our entree, I ordered the NY strip steak and my boyfriend had the lobster alfredo. My boyfriend mentioned that he liked his dish but wished that he had ordered a steak instead. His loss. My dish was amazing. The steak was covered in and cooked in zip sauce -- is it weird to have dreams about that sauce? Had the courses before the entree not sobered me up a bit, I would probably have done the "slurp the plate clean" move just to make sure there was no zip sauce left. Our total bill was just over $100 + tip; not bad considering a stinking meal at the Melting Pot costs about the same. Add a bottle of wine, though, and you're looking at $150-$200.

My meal at Andiamo's was filled with a lot of negatives but one good plate. I called ahead to check on vegan menu items and I was told there were several sauces and they could make an egg plant dish. When we were seated for our early dinner in the empty restaurant we had to suffer though smelly cigar from a lone individual in the lounge despite the fact that we were going to drop some serious cash with a party of 8. We were told they couldn't move us but would put on a fan. When talking to the wait staff about the menu we were told that the egg plant was all ready prepared and could not be done vegan. On the plus side I had a olive oil & garlic pasta with sautéed mushrooms that was divine. Our waitress was also great and was very helpful getting us cups of hot water to heat bottles. They also did not mind dealing with a table of 4 children under the age of 4. In the end if someone else wanted to go to Andiamos I wouldn't put up much a fight because I would love some more of the pasta I had but if it was up to me there are much better choices to dine at in the area.

Why, oh why, do I have to get suckered in to eating at these restaurants that other people in the group love and I don't. It's because I feel that "it must be me and it really wasn't that bad.". Wrong....it really was. This place is so depressingly decorated...black and purple? For a location which has plenty of windows, their decorator went out of their way to make it as cave-like as possible. The food is overpriced for the quality. Because I was pouting that I had to be here, I ordered the most inexpensive menu item, which is basically a plate of pasta for 14.00. Oh yes you get the bread basket and salad. The bread has a nice flavor, homemade with hint of rosemary, but it is so doughy, you can bloat before you start. The salad comes and it is so tiny and it was the best part of the meal. The house dressing which is a creamy garlic Parmesan, is very good, but order it on the side as it was swimming in a sea of it. I ordered the penne pasta with the blush sauce and the waiter asked if I would like Italian sausage with it, sounded good, so yes. Here comes the entree, again loaded with sauce and two FULL links of Italian sausage on either side. Not an appetizing sight...I figured it might be at least cut up to make a nice presentation. Bland sausage, ok mushy pasta with sauce. Our waiter, Bobby, was the best part of the evening and I felt sorry for him trying to hawk the specials at 30-35.00. Are you crazy? For this food! I hope that putting this into print I will never again make my palate suffer at Andiamo's and I don't care what location it is! Ok, this will positively be the last time...

I was pretty excited about going to a non-chain restaurant since almost every single chain restaurant co-exists within a 1 mile radius of Livonia, but I'll just get to the point here. This place was not good. The bison tenderloin was extremely overcooked and left a $35 hole in my pocket. My husband's pasta was mushy and and bland. On a positive note, they did have a decent tasting appetizer, but it was a deep fried ball of cheese. I think that is pretty hard to mess up. If you want a Italian, then you're better off just going to the Bucca di Beppo on 6 mile or cooking up some spaghetti at home and throwing some prego sauce on it.

Disclaimer - I have never been to any other Andiamo location but, because of this location I probably never will either. I have been to this location a couple of times - each time for family dinners. Which, in theory, would be the perfect place - Italian, allegedly fine dining, with great service. The only thing that is true about this place is the Italian part. I have never been wowed or even satisfied with anything I have had here except the dirty martinis at the bar...even if we did have to wait 10 minutes to even be greeted by the bartender. *Gluten-free note: their blue cheese stuffed olives are gluten-free :) The hostess was rude, she must think she's at a different restaurant in New York, the way she acts. The servers we have had there are slow and seemingly care little about their customers - maybe you have to be a regular or something. Most recently I dined from the new Lean Menu which I think is a great idea for restaurants to have - this one is gluten-free and the whole deal is less than 600 calories! I started with the Roasted Beet Salad with Orange Supremes and Citrus-Sour Crème Dressing. It was good but bland, the reality of the situation is they were roasted yellow beets on a plate with splatters of some sort of flavorless creme and a couple of supremes. I think I would have been happier with the starter if the rest of the ordeal was better. For my entree I had Salmone con Granturco e Funghi which was an overcooked piece of salmon on a more basil than anything broth. There were 2 small mushrooms in the dish that I would guess were dried (I'm mostly ok with that) and not well re hydrated (really not ok with that). The plate was scorching hot and the micro greens were wilted. Other dishes in my party included two Trancia Di Salmone Al Granchio - both on ridiculously hot plates but one was inexcusably raw and the other was overcooked. There was also Scaloppine Di Vitello Al Marsala which you literally have to pay to have mushrooms with - ridiculous! The panna cotta that came with my Lean meal (again nice in theory) was off and the fruit with it was extremely lacking - seriously I have better fruit in my garden. The other diners said the bread was delicious and the pasta course was quite nice. I couldn't partake in either so I can't really comment. My water and iced tea was usually empty and the meal took longer than necessary. I don't mind higher priced leisurely meals, in fact I adore them but, this was not in that category. For my money, I would go somewhere else and spend $25-30 per plate and enjoy a MUCH better meal and overall dining experience. I know they have a buy one get one free deal going in July - if you dare to try them I guess it's a good month. Still I recommend elsewhere - or maybe a different Andiamo location.

Great food, they are consistently one of the best around for pasta dishes. The fried risotto (stuffed with mozarella) appetizer is decadent but delicious. We nearly always eat at the bar, which is conveniently located next to live music. The bar scene is fascinating, too, with cougars on the prowl, bored moms on a night out, preening posing singles and awkward first-daters.

If you honestly think that a restaurant can provide a tasty 3-course meal for under 600 calories, think again. Although I commend Andiamo for its ambition in providing a Lean Menu offering, the actual dishes were possibly less than perfect. The service was somewhat debatable, as there were highlights and lowlights throughout the evening. I came here with a group of friends who just wanted a nice sit-down meal. Our service was significantly delayed, as our waitress returned to our table 3 times before actually taking our order, despite the fact that our menus were closed after she had returned the first time. However, the kitchen did send a complimentary appetizer (Suppli Al Telefono: Seasoned Italian risotto rolled and filled with mozzarella cheese and topped with tomato sauce) which was quite tasty but significantly oilier mozzarella than I had been used to. For my 3-course Lean Menu, I chose the Roasted Beet Salad with Orange Supremes and Citrus-Sour Crème Dressing and Grilled chicken breast with roasted tomato fillets and fresh herbs accompanied with roasted peppers, mushrooms and onions. The Salad had an interesting type of green which was quite peppery/bitter/licorice-y all at once. But the beets were good, and the entree was fairly decent. Being a carb-ophile, I should have known that starch would be missing with the 600-calorie limit, so I definitely missed that. The dessert, a Fruit infused panna cotta surrounded by fresh cut fruits and berries, sounded much more delicious than it actually was, as I'm fairly certain the heavy cream was replaced by strawberry flavored yogurt, which was quite sad. I also tried a piece of the Bison sirloin steak, and, despite being told that it would be tough, was shocked at how unflavored and unseasoned it turned out to be.

What a bummer! My family and I used to visit this restaurant quite often. Gave it up for a while and decided to give it another try about 2 months ago. We were pleasantly surprised. Decided to try it again with our extended family last night and it was a huge disappointment! The service was slow. Everyone's food was very bland. My husband sent his food back and There was no visit from a manager. We will not be going back! Also, we used to go for the filets and zip sauce. The price went up several dollars and the quality went down.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
