Try a triple cheeseburger, it's so bad for you. But so good..... They haven't messed up a single order! And the employees are very kind, unusually ; for the fast food industry. I'm in love with the jalapeno mcdouble. That is a must try! I was floored..And it's a great value.

Their Bloody Mary is excellent! I get it a tad spicy and am always nervous that a place will 'over' spice but they keep it tame. I'm not a huge fan of my mouth being on fire so this works for me. The server asked all of us what spice level we preferred, if any. There were about 10 of us on this last occasion and I swear, everyone ordered their Mary's slightly different. Waitress and bartender nailed them all! Kudos for that. Onto the food...they have some juicy burgers. All with interesting names referencing the area. I am not a fancy gal so I just snag the bacon cheeseburger. They cook this as ordered and the bacon isn't burnt or soggy. They get another kudos. Oh, and guess what?!!??!! They have fried Mac and Cheese balls!! Woo-Hoo! Love them. Do I dare say, "Another kudos?!" Why yes, I dare. One negative mention though....the waitress we started with (on this last occasion) was awesome, per the usual at this local joint. BUT her shift ended and a new girl came on. This woman walked in and said, "I think I'm still drunk from last night." I thought she was a patron just being obnoxious. Then she proceeds to grab our empty plates. Ummmm....who the hell are you? I had to ask. She was our server! Very unprofessional of her as she made no announcement to us that she even worked there. Not to mention....she was still drunk! This isn't a deal breaker by any means because their food and drinks overrule AND this was an isolated incident. However, it was still off putting. Hopefully, her behavior is noticed and corrected by management. Anyhoo...if you are looking for delicious munchie food, go here! You won't regret it! Oh yeah, grab a Mary too!
Came here late Christmas Day with a couple old friends from high school. Had some beers and some food. Suprisingly tasty bar food for Downriver. Server was friendly and attentive. I would reccomend they turn the blaring top 40 music down a tad though.
By far the absolute best long island ice tea in the entire country. Ches is a great bartender. The food is good bar food. ..Tell them to burn the kielbasa a bit, it is even better. Mini tacos are good. Great brews on draft.

I've ordered from this place a couple times now and they have consistently impressed me. I've had pizza probably 2-3 times a month my entire life and this is the best pizza I've ever had. I often order this salad called a Michigan greek salad which has a raspberry vinaigrette and dried cherries and I've never thought I would like a sweet salad but this place has had me craving salad which if you knew me is insane. The only downside I can think of is they don't have online ordering and I hate making orders over the phone but I do it anyway because this place is so good. Here's a link to their menu bcpizza.com/New%20Menu%2…
The best pizza my stomach will ever consume. I drive an hour long just to get this pizza. If your satisfied with little Caesars pizza this pizza will blow your mind
I haven't had BC Pizza in years. I don't remember it being this good. I got a coupon in the mail for a free large pizza and I am glad I did. Food was good, service not so good. Can't have it all I guess

I was in a hurry and this location delivered in a BIG way. Not only was Dori's service quick but she couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. I'm a huge big boy classic fan (you know, the better big mac...lol) but I always get it "Ohio style" with the tarter sauce instead of special sauce. It's homemade and amazing! Normally it's made with very little sauce and the meat is dry. Well I wish I would've taken a photo because their cook (Cortez) made my burger juicy, delicious and just as beautiful as the menu photo. How many times can you truly say that? I was very happy with my meal and was out of there in 25 minutes, I made it back to work in enough time to write this before my lunch was over.
Okay...I am only reviewing their desserts. I say this now so you are not mislead regarding their actual meals/apps. To me, their dinner items are standard American fare. Not terrible but nothing to write home about. That said.... The desserts here are fabulous (and fattening!). I HIGHLY recommend their pecan roll sundae. It is ridiculous. They have rotating seasonal desserts too which are always divine. They do dessert well. Never a disappointment with this location. Now go splurge on the calories. I won't tell ;)
Big Boy was always that go-to place when I was growing up. It's always been a family favorite. The salad bar was superb, the desserts were delectable, the breakfast bar was the best! But now... *price is right losing horn music* The salad bar is like the red headed step child of Ruby Tuesday. I was so disappointed the last time I went there. I really wanted a nice salad and everything looked wilted and upset. How does food look upset?? I'll give them a nod on their breakfast food. But the dinners are more like tv dinners. Meh. I've experienced better. They can do much better than this.

I just happened to drive by and decided to try out the place. Authentic home cooked food with very reasonable prices. The wait after ordering is a while since they cook it fresh after you order but the food is delicious. The pupusas and tamales are really good.

Hey if you like good pasta and you don't have time to do make it yourself, not to worry here is the answer. Pierino's. You can find it at any of the major super market and good produce market like Randazzo's. The best pasta that you buy and it's a locally made. Save yourself time and money and still get the best.

Pizza King

Pizza King is conveniently located around the block from me, so whenever I'm lazy or in a hurry I'll order from here. My two favorite things are the pizza rolls and cheese bread, I don't really think you'll find better of either anywhere else in the vicinity. The pizza is pretty good too, although not my favorite. My girlfriend likes it because they'll make a quarter of it all veggie for her and meat on the rest for me! Most places we call won't do half and half.
What can I say, it is the best Pizza Downriver (Including Detroit). PK's pizza has that chewy crust created by expert pizza makers who understand their craft. The cheese is not oily like most other places, and the sauce they use is quality. They have pizza rolls (calzones) as big as your arm and their garlic pizza sticks (with sauce for dipping) is a must! The bridge between Goddard and Harrison is closed so you'll have to get to them via Fort Street turning on to Harrison - well worthwhile!
Picture this. It's your last night living in the Detroit area. You've been packing your stuff for hours, the fridge has been moved, you have no food in the house. My friend (who will go nameless) recommends "Pizza King". Never ordered before, now I know why. Ordered a steak sub and 2 pizza rolls and it shows up and the driver says $40. I ask, "what did you say?" and the 12 year old driver says it again. Long story even longer, the steak sub tasted like horse meat and because I hadn't eaten anything all day, they got my money. I ate half of my $40 meal and my wife found a hair in her sandwich. I was on the toilet for the next 2 days from what I did eat. Next call is to the health inspector from Wayne County. This place should be burned down.

Hop Sheing Noodle House

Reviews:
Against my better judgment I tried this noodle dive again. I tried the Pho soup. It was a bland salty broth. That's all I will say. I'm trying to be nice. I don't wish for any business to go under; this place will do so all on their own. The only way they can succeed is by cutting their prices in half. Nice size portions of sub standard food. Go elsewhere.
Tried this place for the first time last night. I had pho with beef and my husband had chow mien with chicken. I'm not sure how they can call this pho when the broth tastes nothing like traditional pho broth and they do not offer typical pho garnishes. Needless to say, I did not care for my soup. The chow mien wasn't too bad. The sauce was pretty good as well as the chicken. Vegetables were a little scarce. We had carry out so I'm not sure about their service, but the restaurant appeared clean.
You get a gigantic portion of noodles for a great price. The flavor is really good and you will always leave incredibly full with at least 2 meals worth of leftovers. I got the pacific noodles and they were amazing. I also tried the mocha coffee bubble tea and the flavor was great. The service was good and all employees were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place.

Dix Coney Island

Lincoln Park, 48146
Reviews:
If I was tasked with providing a foreigner an authentic American meal, I'd skip steak or ribs and bring them to Dix Coney Island. DCI is a hole-in-the-wall diner in the hood end of Lincoln Park. It's a place where seats are repaired with duct tape, waitresses sport tattoos of reptiles wrapped around medieval weapons, and ceiling tiles are stained a greasy orange. The cook would be perfect for a movie titled "Uncle Buck 2: End of Humanity". I swear I saw Gollum stirring the vat of chili in the back. Ron Jeremy's less-attractive brother is usually perched like a gargoyle on the first barstool. The dishwasher resembles The Crypt Keeper wearing a toupee made from a mushroom pizza. If the plot of "Men in Black" were real, half the patrons would be extraterrestrials posing as humans. It's that awesome. Yes, a couple years back, a cook was shot seven times while putting the finishing touches on a reuben. I heard the closest waitress was shot twice and came to work the next morning to mop up her own blood. I've had to dash out a couple times when the drunk thugs started getting all "Stomp the Yard" inside, but no worries, it doesn't happen all the time. Thing is, when the surrounding dives and topless bars empty out at 2 AM, DCI fills up, so get there early unless you're a Shaolin Kung Fu master. Trust that the chili-cheese fries are worth the risk of being mugged, stabbed, and contracting gonorrhea. Here's why: 1) Thick cut, crispy, ridged fries maximize chili-cheese cling. 2) Tastiest chili known to man or beast. 3) Grated cheddar melted under chili (Not some lame liquid nacho cheese). 4) They're less than three bucks and done in three minutes. 5) No charge for adding "caramelized" onions. 6) Fun to decorate with old-school ketchup squirter. To wash it down, they proudly serve crushed ice in your fountain pop. They have a jukebox which plays three types of music: Toby Keith, Eminem, and Toby Keith-Eminem duets. And, oddly enough, the girls working the rowdy late shift aren't bad looking. In summary, other coney islands aren't worthy of wiping the anus of Dix Coney Island, it's that good.
In Detroit for my sons hockey tourney. On way to airport, decided to grab chili cheese fries and coneys. Yelp pulled up Dix and we stopped in. Place is like an old local diner. The chili cheese fries were outstanding and the Reuben was Off the chart. Best food we had all weekend. Friendly staff and very inexpensive! Also accepted credit cards. SO from Dallas.
Okay, I know. 5 stars for a coney. If you grew up in Lincoln Park, this is the REAL DCI, unlike some people who call Downriver Coney "DCI" I love the way they grill their pita bread. Sometimes I will just order that. I've never had a disappointing meal here and the portions are right. As some other people mentioned before, it is cash only, and there is usually only a server or two working, so patience is a virtue. The good news is that everything they make cooks fast so you don't have to wait long :)
