If you live or are vacationing in the vicinity of Lawton, Michigan, this is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch. They aren't open for dinner. We love going there for breakfast. As breakfast places in this area go, this one is the family favorite. The food is good and cooked to order. Some of the other places have weak coffee, but theirs is good. my husband likes the biscuits and gravy, in part because you can tell that the biscuits are made from scratch. Another sign that it must be good: on a recent weekday morning, all of the tables were full of customers and newly arrived had to either wait or sadly go elsewhere.
We stopped in for lunch. It is a typical small town diner. Very friendly service. The food was excellent. We had a tuna melt, biscuits and gravy, broccoli soup, baked beans and a cheeseburger. The beans were outstanding. The burger was good and the biscuits as well. We topped it off with some delicious cherry pie. Everything was home made, everything. The cook came out to ask us how things were. We told him how much we liked the beans. He came and gave us the recipe!! How nice is that!
Best breakfast around!! Love the Sausage Gravy, and Skillets. Waitstaff is phenomenal!
I usually come here specifically for the eggs benedict. It's really good and they are not stingy with the hollandaise sauce! I always get hash browns on the side because I love them, too! Today I thought I'd save a buck and try the Benny Skillet. It was tasty and filling, but I missed the whole eggs benedict experience. Their coffee is good and my cup was filled often.
Tried to checkin while eating breakfast. At&t cannot pull it off. Great breakfast though! Skillets and omelets. Great service!
Great food and atmosphere. We hit it whenever we're in town. Always look forward to the bread. Great Ribs and burgers!
I just had a salad but it was fresh and crisp. My girls asked for fried pickles because it wasn't on their menu and they did make them. They said they were okay. Very friendly staff . Service was good.I would go back.
Still great food. Someone tried to drive through the front of the building. But the food is unaffected. Service is always good. Cold beer hot food.
Been going here for years and always enjoyed it. Love all the recent renovations. Now for the reason for 2 stars. Terrible service. Our server Mandy just didn't care. Seemed annoyed by the world and especially by people taking up her time. Same experience with the bartender. Couldn't care how long I stood there. Had people she cared about and I wasn't one. Might not go back because why would I waste my time with mean people.
I just wanted lunch and a reasonable price. The fact that the "boiled chicken and garlic broccoli" is the best meal I've had in months is an utter shock and delight. Give it a try, you don't regret it!
My wife and I had about twenty minutes to stop for a drink. Sat at the bar for 15 minutes before the bartender actually saw us and said, "sorry I'm so busy." Then instead of taking our order she served beers to her three friends across the bar. So needless to say I don't know if the food or drinks are good or not since I never got the chance.
My main review is for the pizza. It is lower only due to the fact that I recently moved from the Chicago area and the bar for good pizza is very high. It is a slightly 'fast food' type of pizza, but I feel the best one in the area. When they say it will be 1/2 hr.- 45 min. to be ready, they are always punctual with the assessment. Price is also reasonable but they do not deliver. Although the rest of the store is rustic, they have a decent selection for a store of such a small size. The shelves could use a dust cleaning from time to time but the smoked bacon is a great choice. Nice little store, pretty decent pizza.
