Very good Middle Eastern food in a small strip mall on Southfield Road. This is very close to where I live, and has never disappointed. The service is always very friendly and quick. Very fresh tasting food. I would recommend calling ahead if you do not want to wait. The hummous is one of favorites from around the area, as well as the garlic sauce. The sandwiches are great, as well as the dinners. The kabob dinner is a generous portion and is enough for several meals. I usually stick with the chicken kabob, but have also tried other dishes. The lentil soup has a unique taste, and I prefer other places.
Had the chicken shawarma and lentil soup and they're falefel Sandwich...... I must say 5 stars!!!!!!
We love, love, LOVE this place! They have the best garlic sauce I've ever eaten. Their crushed lentil soup is amazing. The prices are reasonable. In short, go eat here!!!

Worst location by a mile. I travel a lot for work and love Panera. Its great to know what your going to get, their always clean, free wifi (when you can connect) etc etc. This location is AWFUL. I've been to it twice now. Never again. Horribly managed. The 2nd time I went in, they were so disorganized, I waited 20 minutes for my order before finally getting mad and just walking out. Hopefully someone else enjoyed the Sierra Turkey! It's so sad to see a store like this. People always ask why better establishments don't set up in certain locations. This is a prime example why. Go to 14 and 75 if you need a Panera fix. I WISH they would put one in Royal Oak. But I know for sure, I'll never go to this one again.
Walk in to order bagels and coffee for a client morning mingle. I tell the young lady Shawntel I'd like 3 bagel packs and she gasps and rolls her eyes. I ask her point plank did my order upset you and she says "it's a lot of work packing them up". She the asks what type of bagels would I like and I stated mix them up she says " I had to be more specific". If I had more time this morning I'd walk out that door and never look back. I'm so sorry my order inconvenienced you! #neveragain
Stopped in for a for a quick salad! Very friendly greeting from behind the counter. Shayla was quick to engage me in conversation asking what I was looking for and suggesting the new salads on the menu. My whole experience from ordering to pickup was met with enthusiasm and efficiency!

Hellenic Restaurant

27150 Evergreen Rd
Lathrup Village, 48076
Reviews:
Hellenic Coney Island moved to this location from their spot on Evergreen and Twelve Mile and in doing so they dropped the "Coney Island" part of the name in lieu of the more broad "Restaurant." But don't let the name change fool you, their coney's are still where it's at. Two coneys and a plate of their legendary fries are the gut busting special here and they are quite delicious. The dogs are sturdy and meaty and they've got a hearty beef flavor. Top them with their quality chili, a load of mustard and a heaping helping of onions and you've got yourself a meal! But don't just stop with the dogs, you gotta add their secret weapon--their fries. I don't know if this is on the menu or not (honestly when you know what you want you don't need to order) but they've got two kinds of fries here--their standard fry, and their special "old" fries made like they cooked em up at their last location. Not sure what they do differently but please--do yourselves a favor and get the old fry. These are delicious. A little under-salted for me (I like it salty!) but a few passes of the old shaker make them pretty much perfect. Great, friendly service (they'll definitely encourage you to up your coney order) and a comfy space with plenty of seating and large booths if you come in for lunch with a big group. I'll admit that while they're not the best coney's I've ever had in my life (the downtown joints take the cake for me) these definitely rank up there with some of the better dogs I've had. I honestly cannot comment on anything else on the menu because when you've got coneys and fries as tasty as these it's hard to deviate and try anything else.
I stumbled onto this place while looking for another restaurant and decided to pop in. It was bustling with activity, which is usually a good sign. I ended up waiting a long time at what I would have considered off-peak lunch time (after 1:00 p.m.). When I finally got the food, it was a real disappointment. The spinach pie was microwave city: two tough hockey pucks of spinach, pastry and a little feta cheese on the top. The Greek salad had an OK dressing but it wasn't good enough to hide ingredients decidedly not fresh. With a name like Hellenic Restaurant, you might think that there would be more than 5 - 7 dishes on a large menu that are Greek. Sometimes, though, expectations are not met. As a result, I expect that I won't be coming here again.
My ratings skew high so this 2 star should tell you something. They serve some sort of taco hot dog thing. I ordered the gyro pita and it was solid enough. The gyro greek salad looked promising. I'll order that next time and adjust my rating up if it delivers. Tangentially, I'm getting tired of tipping people in Detroit. Is it some sort of union thing that requires restaurants to have waiters? There is no reason for this place to have waiters. I subsequently raised this place to 3 stars after visiting the competition.
