There was a time when this was a great place to eat. Seems the last several years have not been kind to this old girl. Changes in management and cooking style seem evident. Hard to find and in the winter never seemed quite safe to me to drive down an incey one lane slot in the road immediate to the lake. Beautiful lakefront views and ample seating. The food isnt bad but it was better years ago. Service wasnt the best and everyone seemed to be in a negative mood. Never like eating anywhere people dont seem happy to work at. Maybe the new owner should castaway everything and start over.

I'm glad I didn't see these negative reviews before coming, as an avid Yelper, I would have suggested another restaurant. However, I did not and my family has enjoyed Castaways on many occasions. Service was great, especially when dealing with a rowdy group of 10 scattered across two booths (that was one negative, it would be nice if they were capable of having a larger group at one table). The cocktails were amazing and I see why everyone enjoys the Castaway's Cabo Wabo or as I call it "Tasty Windex". All the food was tasty and well prepared from when we were adventurous trying out frog legs to the amazing orange pound cake croutons on my salad. I am still dreaming about those croutons... Great view, I would love to come back and enjoy the outdoor seating with a Cabo Wabo...or two.

Cocktails were good. Food is bad. They also run out of everything! Good view. Service is harassed on account of the food; management and the kitchen seem rude to the waitresses. It turned me off.

Not impressed at all . The view of the lake is nice but service was average , food was average & just seemed like could have been sooo much better. Charged us for a second basket of bread ! Weird

What a treat to eat by the lake. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and its extremely friendly staff. The food was fantastic, but slightly overpriced for the portion size. Small price to pay to eat in such a scenic environment. Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience that will ensure my repeat visits in the future.
