Came in this evening while passing through and although the restaurant got slammed with tables and a massive party of 30+ people, our food was prompt, accurate, fresh and hot. Our waitress Shae was very pleasant and you can tell the entire staff works very well together. Everyone works well as a team and it shows. The brunette manager who I would assume is the GM helped out with service, cooking, and anywhere she was needed. Even the cook in the back with a broken arm was doing everything he could to help. I would have to disagree on the other reviews bashing on the service because this has got to be the best ran steak and shake I have ever been too. Great job guys, thanks! Set the par for the rest of the chain ;-)

I try this place a couple times a year, and I am always disapointed....This latest visit i tried the chili footlong, as always, it took 25 mins to get the food...it was a little burned and fell apart when i tried to pick it up.....no water refills,,,no silverware....if you come here, make sure you have low expectations.

Service is sporadic. I've had great service here, and I've had astonishingly bad service as well. I get a vanilla shake and the ketchup-n-mustard sliders, with a side of fries. That's a pretty safe order.

As a red velvet cake enthusiast I was very excited to taste steak n shakes newest shake. I have tasted many a red velvet flavor and to be completely honest, this milkshake is subpar.

Having to wait 35 mins for these very thin things is unthinkable !!! Why you would not have burgers on the grill at all times would only make good business . Dirty dirty floors and tables. Would not go back to this dump again. There are too many other places on this road to have to pick this place. They don't care how long the wait is or how dirty the place is. There are to many bads here to go back and risk getting sick . And respect that people can't or shouldn't have to wait this long for burgers that take maybe 4 mins to cook. Going else where from now on if I could have given zero stars I would have. Order was not even right after the long wait . Guessing pickles take another 10 mins from the oh so busy cook who can't do her job.

This was my first time at a Steak and Shake. It was a weekend, so it was on a kids eat free day. It was very busy, but the staff was all but understaffed. Our waitress took forever just to get us our waters, and our food took a good 30 minutes to get to our table, on top of the long wait for our beverages. There was actually a couple that came in shortly after we had been seated that ended up leaving after waiting in their booth for about 20 minutes without having any server come to their table to ask for the basics(beverages). The floor manager ended up picking up the slack of the regular servers, and she kicked their ass. She handled double the tables, including our own, and got us the things we were unable to get from our regular server. Someone at our table actually had to tell our server that another table was really wanting their checks - her response was "What? Who?" All in all, the food was mediocre at best, and definitely not worth the wait and annoyance. I will end up giving a different building of this restaurant a chance at some point, but this experience wasn't very good.

The food taste like any other Steak 'n Shake. The woman working the drive-thru window should be washing dishes or something. She forgot to give us the fries and there were no napkins in the bag. Raise minimum wage?? Try putting the 4 items ordered in a bag with some ketchup and napkins.

The frisco melt is delicious as well as their shakes! Every time I come to Michigan (I'm from California) I have to stop here or else the trip isn't complete! :) you should definitely try this place if you haven't already!

I like to go here for lunch sometimes when i have the money since I work across the street. Usually perfect timing when shakes are 1/2 off. Employees are always nice and courteous and get my food to me quickly while it is fresh off the grill.

I LOVE breakfast! I have been to this Steak N Shake many times - mostly because they have several different hotdogs ( haven't found a hotdog joint in Lansing yet :-/ ) Since I found out they serve breakfast - Oh my!! A good breakfast menu and good prices too! I have only had one problem with service, but I think that was because of shift change and / or Sunday after church. Today, my breakfast was delish as always - 2 eggs, perfectly medium, bacon, hashbrowns and I think one of the best biscuits around - I'm a "Biscuit Snob"!! My server was GREAT - attentive and always right there to fill my coffee. I think breakfast at this Steak N Shake - could become a habit!

Visited on Sunday evening around 9pm. Service was slow to take order, and very slow to receive food. When we did get our food, it had the wrong items on the steak burger. Food tasted ok, but very dissatisfied with service. Seemed as though they were understaffed, while servers off the clock were loitering around the cash register.

Service was horrible. Waitress kept forgetting about us. Bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. Our food was fine, but seriously we will never return.

I'm not really sure why, but I'm actually a fan of this place. I don't eat beef, so can't comment on their steak burgers. I love their chicken sandwiches though, and of course the fries! The shakes are the best though. Especially the seasonal "'caramel apple" shake! Delicious! It's pretty cheap and is open late, which is helpful for when you catch a late movie at Celebration right down the road and want to get something to eat afterward other than taco bell.

Still not my favorite place but it's close to work. Stopped in to try the new breakfast taco for .99 cents. Overall it's a 5 out of 10. The McDonald's breakfast burrito has nothing to fear and is still king of the one dollar breakfast items. The steak and shake breakfast taco is good for the price. First of all the size is very good, nice portion. It has a few onions in it but they're not listed as one of the contents. The amount of cheese they use is way too little. If you're sliding through a steak and shake it's probably still worth the buck.

I love Steak N Shake! I was very lucky to have it in the town where I went to college. It's a great place to get a good meal with one person or a group. No fancy dishes or expensive choices, just good ol' American food and affordable prices! My husband had never been to a Steak N Shake before and one time he was visiting me at MSU I took him there. Needless to say, he's a fan as well. I love their hamburgers and I especially love their milkshakes. They have great salads, sides, and other great choices for a meal. You get a lot for your money so expect to leave satisfied!

Food is cheap but extremely greasy, the buns are so soggy that they fall apart trying to eat it. I gave this place a second chance just to see if it was a one time thing and was just as bad both times. I left with a stomach ache from all the grease.

Steak 'n Shake is awesome. I remember the day this place opened, I ate 4 meals there (4, you ask? Remember the old TBS promotion for "Dinner and a Movie"? Well, sometimes you just need "Dinner and a Dinner.") Awesome I say. Makes me miss living in the Midwest.

Breakfast is a disaster here. I should restate ... If there are more than 2 people in your dining group your breakfast will be wrong and cold. My wife and I tried this one time and no special orders and it came out much better. So we decided to try it this morning with our family of four adults and two kids. We had to go up to get water, and hunt down a waitress for coffee. Some meals came out ok but others we had to get fixed cause they came out wrong and the biscuits and gravy all came out cold. Simple things like getting a biscuit instead of a slider and not getting pico de gallo on a skillet. There were at tops four or five tables at the same time and at least 6 waitstaff.
