Not fond of McAlister's at all. There's nothing tasty or special about soggy sandwiches and half warm soups. I had a baked potato here once and wasn't very impressed with that either. I'd rather just go to Quiznos or Subway.

Whoa, I'm surprised by all the low reviews. I'm a fan and only wish there was one in the Detroit area. I look forward to this deli for a quick, pretty healthy and fairly inexpensive bite when I'm at Eastwood rather than a heavy-sit down restaurant/sports bar that surround the area. I've tried many items on the menu and can only recall once or twice where I wasn't a fan of what I ate. My favorite is the chicken tortilla soup, but during my most recent visit, had the half club and the half savannah chopped salad. I particularly liked how the mustard and mayo weren't overpowering the turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, lettuce and tomatoes. It was a neat sandwich, one that I could pull apart to eat half at a time instead of all at once. The salad was supposed to have grilled chicken breast but came meatless. It was fine, but I wonder if their half portions are sans meat. Loved the combination of dried cranberries, gorgonzola, almonds, tomatoes and cucumbers with a light sherry shallot vinaigrette. Other pluses: They bring out the food to you and you don't have to clean up after yourself.

Set inside a mall strip. Food is OK but worth only One Try. You will know how bad it is after the first bite. Similar to Panera, but decor is good, service is good BUT food is not even close to that description. Worst is the Chili. So bland! Not again at this or any other locations.

I'm at fan and eat here occasionally. A colleague of mine eats there on a much more regular basis. McAlister's sends out gifts for birthday and has "kids eat free" every Tuesday. Descent for a fast casual food deli. Sometimes it does take longer than expected but I would still consider it reasonable. Today was a special event, it was packed and the whole crew was on top of everything. This is not something you want to pick up and eat in the car; you should eat there or at your destination. I think the food does vary a little from time to time but for the most part it is a dependable and healthy place with lots of options for everyone. I love the Savannah Chicken salad!

Service screw-up left me waiting for 15 minutes on a simple veggie sandwich order (while numerous other patrons ordered and left with their food) and when I received it, I drove away and began consuming it only to find their 'special sauce' dripped all over me and the sandwich itself fell apart in my hands. I also didn't realize this was a chain, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why it does as well as it does. The food is subpar and the prices are rather high for what you get. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stab my eyes out with a dull pencil than go to Subway, but this place isn't much better. Note to McAlister's Deli: make your sandwiches tasty and delicious (regardless of size) and people will come back and even pay more than they might normally.

They were out of 3 things that we ordered but didn't tell us about 2 of them until they brought out the order for the whole table. We asked very politely for a substitute or compensation and were treated rudely. The staff didn't think it was out of the ordinary to be out of several things on the menu. I like the McAlister's chain in general but wouldn't recommend this poorly managed location.

Delicious salads and soups. Will try a sandwich next time. Very busy. I can see why with how good this place is. Surprised.

If you are gluten-free: They claim to have a dedicated kitchen area to GF, but while ordering, I was asked if I needed them to change gloves. SERIOUSLY?? If that's not an automatic, you might as well not offer GF options! I was ok that time, the next visit (take out order) had me close to the bathroom (sick from cross contamination). NOT worth the risk!

Great lunch! I had a cranberry orange club sandwich with a side of mac & cheese, and it was OMG good. My friend had a salad that looked wonderful. Very casual but clean and well kept.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Huge menu, baked goods, drink refills, kids choices with organic milk, and kids eat free Tuesday nights. We moved away from the area in 2007, and every time we come through now, this is where we eat. My favorite is their club with no mayo with Cole slaw. The slaw was a bit peppery this last visit but still great. The potato salad is also a good side choice, as is the tortilla soup, and applesauce for the kids. You order at the counter then they bring out their food. The staff walks around to refill drinks, bring extra napkins, boxes, etc. Overall, a family favorite!

Best chicken tortilla soup I've ever had... it's just phenomenal! And I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on the sweet tea, but I find it to be the best in the area. It's not over-powerfully sweet and it tastes fresh. No brown floaties! I work very close to this McAlister's, so I frequent it often if I'm in a rush for lunch or want to pick something up on the way home and I've never had bad service. Every one is extremely competent and friendly, and even though the restaurant may looked packed sometimes, the food comes out pretty fast. They've always gotten my order exactly right. My only negative advice toward McAlister's is to stay away from their loaded baked spud that has turkey on it... I threw it away after a few bites. I'm not sure how the other spuds are.

I should have quit while I was ahead. The place was empty at dinner on a Monday night. I ordered the club and it took quite a wile to come out given the ratio of employees to guests. It was fab though. Nice and fresh and the potato salad was better than moms. The sweet tea hit the spot. So I came back the next night. Big mistake. I got the appropriately named "Big Nasty. It was sliced beef on an open bun with the crappiest gravey poured over it. I wanted another tea, but the containers were open and where were dirty rags hanging over them. The employees were not as jovial as the day before. Probably because the place actually had people in it. The cheese cake was nothing to write home about and for the prices I should have just gone to Subway.

Good Food. Horrible service. Over 20 minutes for two sandwiches when the place was 10% full.

Utterly utterly unimpressive. The sandwiches are less than spectacular, and even though they have a big selection, for as many sandwiches as I've tried (my mom used to bring home sandwiches from her office), I haven't found one that has ever wowed me. The thing that bothers me most about McAlister's- their sweet tea. I lived down south for a hot minute, and Sweet Tea is like water out there. Now you really can't get it around EL too much, so when I saw it here I was super excited. However the inconsistency here kills me. Sometimes it's like syrup, and other times its like they barely put in any sugar. I think they're using lipton (yes, the type of tea bags you use does make a difference). I'd give them an extra dollar to use some Luzianne. Skip this place.

Very basic sandwich. Wish I had yelped before stopping. Good Iced Tea.

I had good experiences here at this location so my review is different than the other ones. This location is in the Eastwood outdoor shopping center so it's got plently of parking and is around lots of stores. I enjoyed the sandwiches and chips I got here. I am not a fan of sweet tea but some friends of mine who like it really liked McAlisters version. It's a pretty good deli and a nice place to eat that's not fast food when you need a break from shopping.
