I come from the West Coast, so in reality we don't have as much Middle Eastern food options like here in the East. Which is a pity, because it's quite delicious, and Aladdin's is a great primer. I have stopped pretty consistently at least once or twice a month, mainly for the shwarma, but also their various spicy meats and pita bread. Love their rice and salads too. Great food at a great value, and the staff are always very friendly.
You know there's going to be issues when you show up at 1:30pm on a Friday to an empty restaurant. And then when you ask for 2 orders of Chicken Kabobs and are told that they only have enough chicken for 1 order. Really? On a Friday? At 1:30pm?
Nicely decorated restaurant, the indoor waterfall is a nice touch. I ordered lamb kabob over rice and a surfing dude smoothie... or so I thought. I've been craving lamb all day which brought me to this restaurant, but when I received my dish, I realized it was chicken a bite in. When I expressed my concern, the girl at the cashier told me I had ordered chicken, and said it was too late for me to change it. Yet a lady came in while I was waiting for food returning her food, because a mixup as well. Must happen often. I ate all of my food anyways, but was turned off by the customer service. The food was pretty good regardless (in Lansing terms I guess), and I probably would have generously given 4 stars, had it not been for the mix up situation.

Heavenly Ham is a wonderful little shop where you can shop and eat. (I love those!) They will make your sandwich to order, your choice of meats, or perhaps veggie is more your style, your choice of bread, toppings, and condiments. I personally love the ham on white with honey mustard, no toppings. Simple yet filling and delicious. They also cater and will accept phoned-in or faxed orders and can make boxed lunches. I do not care for the pasta salad but I'm not a pasta salad type of person. For Christmas I ordered (reserved) a 3-lb. honey baked ham that was presliced, no bone. Had a choice of bone-in or no bone. They also do whole turkeys and sell all the fixings, like stuffing, gravy, sweet potato casserole -- the Works! No deposit required, just let them know when you want to pick it up. Try this place for Delicious ham, simply mouth-watering and Oh So Yummy.

my mom & i did like The Pizza it Was disappointing I will not be going back!!
I am on the fence as to how many stars to give this place. I am only giving it 3 stars because our server was great, the food, was mediocre at best. The prices were very reasonable, but I am used to paying NYC prices. We had 2 pizzas, some appetizers, and salads. Apps and salads were standard, run of the mill generic Italian food. The issue was the pizza. First off, you may have a 1000 degree oven, but the crust certainly doesn't taste like it. There was no charring, the edges were lightly done, and the middle was limp and soggy. When I bend a slice in half to eat, it is not supposed to collapse under its own weight. I have been to plenty of pizza places that feature wood or coal burning ovens and this didn't live up to what I expect. Also, the food was bland. The sauce on the pizzas was far too sweet and yet flavorless at the same time. It could have been greatly improved if someone used a lot more garlic and added some salt. Obviously, whoever made this sauce was not familiar with adding seasoning. I can't be a judge of how this compares to other Lansing area pizza places, but it would not survive in the NYC area. Maybe they can add some seasoning and cook the pies a little longer and things might be better.
I feel bad for Tony's, they're stuck behind the Eastwood Shopping Plaza, and I wasn't aware they were even there until my boyfriend pointed it out. The pizza was excellent. We had the Marco Polo and it was absolutely delicious. A small is enough to feed two people if you aren't that hungry, and a large will go a long way. The thin crust was great and perfectly cooked. I really appreciated the wait staff too. Our first pizza apparently came out burned, and they comped us by giving us some breadsticks to munch on while others in our party enjoyed their pizza (which were ALSO delicious). My only complaint is that it was a little bit loud, and my grandfather who was hard of hearing couldn't really understand what was going on. If you can, sit outside. Otherwise, I would definitely come back here!

Totally fine pizza that fills the niche of: quick, cheap, acceptable. The crust isn't good. It is nothing.
They have great customer service and super fast delivery. Their good taste so much better than many chain pizza restaurants. They also donate free pizza to homeless people. Def 5 stars.
messed up my incredibly easy orders 3 times in a row. will not be back.

Had a very wholesome and filling Breakfast. In a re-purposed ponderosa restaurant staff (only 2 including the cook) did a wonderful job keeping the orders flowing and hot. If I lived locally I would be visiting more often.
Good food, if you can get seated at one of the many empty tables, if you can get a server to come to your table. If you don't mind waiting for the food that you order from the menu. I didn't order the buffet because it didn't look very appetizing. The fake plants hanging everywhere are dust-catchers and they obviously were very dirty. The table also needed a good scrubbing. The service in this place completely breaks down during a rush.
My boyfriend suggested trying this new location when our favorite breakfast spot was spilling out customers into the parking lot. Jackie's is a grease spoon with the classic middle-aged tired waitress to boot. The interior was spacious and probably very clean, but I somehow felt dirty dining there... My boyfriend opted for the breakfast buffet - which is rarely a good choice at any restaurant, IMO. After trying several items, he regretted his decision. The buffet offers a lot of variety, but most of the items are on the cool side and turned cold very quickly on his plate. He thought the sausage was noticeably fatty and a little strange tasting, and the buttermilk pancakes were dense and flavorless. The scrambled eggs, the only egg choice on the buffet, were greasy and rubbery. Normally my boyfriend scarfs down two full plates on a buffet, but he left Jackie's having only eaten about half a plate. I felt bad! I had some sort of skillet dish which had scrambled eggs, hashbrowns (I always tell the waitress to make mine extra-extra-crispy), bacon, and cheese. I enjoyed my meal, and the hashbrowns were some of the better crispier ones I've had in Lansing. It wouldn't keep me coming back to Jackie's though, because the cheese tasted processed and again the eggs were a little too greasy for my taste, and I wish that the concoction was actually served on a skillet. What WOULD have me return to Jackie's again, and allowed for a two-star rating, is their unbelievably extensive pancake menu. They seem to have every type of pancake topping combo! I'd go back to try the banana-chocolate chip pancakes if I have a sweettooth in the morning one of these days. But if those pancakes fail, I probably wouldn't have any reason to go back to Jackie's

Fans of local businesses, take note. This is one of the good ones. Today I bought one of their cherry coffee cakes for an office party. It was moist, dense and flavorful. I also bought some cute butterfly cookies because I couldn't resist. Those cookies were ok. I've had others from this bakery that were outstanding. Another fun option are the filled muffins and cupcakes. This bakery is a long-standing supporter of the MSU Museum Chocolate party and the first time I had the filled cupcakes was at that event. Heaven, absolute heaven!
My wife went in recently to speak with a cake decorator. As my wife was sitting down, the decorator showed up and just stood hovering over her. She was not pleasant at all and was in no way, shape, or form helpful. She was not interested in speaking to my wife. We may come here to buy standard cakes but will never have something custom made. The rest of the staff was very pleasant but how easy it is for one person to ruin your business.
My experience today makes me see why they have low ratings. I wish I had paid attention to this before ordering my daughter's birthday cake. They made a mistake on a frosting decoration--not a big deal, it happens. But instead of owning the mistake of making amends they insisted on charging me seven dollars for a director ration it would take no more than a minute to create. Disappointingly bad business.
