They have the best donuts. Made fresh daily. The sprinkle donuts sell out by mid morning... If not sooner. Get there early while they're still hot. Placing an order the day before is not a bad idea for larger orders.

Awesome hot dogs I can't explain how good they are, best I've ever eaten! Great fresh cut fries too. Ice cream is great and they have a huge selection to choose from. The only thing is the service is a bit slow, not the best place if your in a hurry.

Just comfort food - but done very well And the wait staff are the friendliest you'll ever meet. For the price - yes 5 stars
The food was good, but the decor, cleanliness and service were missing big time. The carpet is DIRTY, and it looks ugly inside and is laid out poorly for a restaurant. It took forever to get a server, and then we had to wait an eternity for our check which is unacceptable.
The service was fine and the food just okay. The fried chicken was mediocre and seemed more deep fried batter than meat. The "green" beans that came with it were obviously from a can. My beef and barley soup was lacking any real pieces of beef. My wife's scrambled eggs were overcooked and her sausages looked burnt. While cheaper, whoever said the price was half that of Bob Evans was clearly exaggerating. Who pays $4.50 for a fruit bowl?

Small restaurant near the new Kroger Marketplace. There are only four tables in a clean storefront, so this place does mostly carryout. There are chairs to wait on and even a table to get some free hot Chinese tea. The owner does everything and most of it is made fresh. He tells me he has been there six years, so he has had a time to develop the menu and learn what his clientele likes. Prices are good for the lunch menu-most dishes are $4.95 and include soup and friend rice. I got there too late for the lunch menu but did order some shrimp with lobster sauce, my standard comfort food. As i was nursing a head cold I can't really comment on the nuances of flavor, but did find that what I got was fresh and mildly seasoned.Crab ragoons were enormous, more like dumplings and filled with a ricotta/cream cheese mix that was tasty. I will have to come back and try more when my cold is finally over!

The other day I was making the long drive to southeast Michigan to drop some presents off under the family Christmas tree. Not having slept in the last thirty hours my mind was a bit foggy when I first heard a rumbling in belly. Bleary eyed, I quickly took note of my surroundings. Fast Food? Nah! Grocery Store? Negative. Liquor Store? Maybe... No, there was driving to be done. It was then that the clouds in the sky parted for, but a moment, releasing a solitary beam of sunlight onto Bedford Coney Island. Now, I am not a religious person, but they say it is best that one does not ignore these things. I pulled into the parking lot. As I walked, bleary eyed, into the establishment I took note of a few things. Firstly, this place was pretty clean. Secondly, it was larger inside than I had originally suspected. Lastly, this place was damn busy. I steeled myself for what might be a moderate wait by the "Please wait to be seated" sign. I was wrong about the wait, in less than half a moment a waitress zipped up to me and welcomed to me to the diner and directed me to my seat. My coffee was on my table almost before I ordered it. I confess I did not peruse the entire menu, but it was fairly large and seemed to consist of your typical Coney Island fare. I asked my waitress what she would recommend and placed that order. While enjoying my coffee during the short wait for my food, I took notice of the restaurant patrons. Old, young, families, people recovering from hangovers, the waitstaff daftly zipped from table to table fulfilling orders and engaging in friendly small talk. It looked so..... exhausting. When my spinach and feta omelet arrived it was delicious as it was generous in proportion. I was unable to finish enjoying it due to the limitations of my stomach's size. Coffee refills came almost as soon as I took the last sip, and after several cups, I began to believe that my friendly waitress must possess clairvoyant abilities that the CIA could use more than Bedford Coney Island. As it turns out, she just had a system, and the system was good. There is nothing remarkable or quirky about the Bedford Coney Island. There are not walls covered with Mark Twain quotes like like the Double Eagle Coney Island in Ypsilanti. Nor will you find the quint 1950's style decor or Abe's Coney Island in the same city either. What you will find is quality food, reasonable prices, and a fast and friendly waitstaff. As Lavar Burton would say, "But you don't have to take my word for it!" If you ever find yourself in the Lambertville area, or even just cruising past it on US 23, take a detour to this little gem, you won't regret it.
Great place. The food is good bit the service is even better. Usually go for lunch and it's always good. Get the gyro wrap !!! It's kid friendly also. All around food food.
Whenever I'm in from Texas I stop here. Coney Dog, soups , cheesecake are delicious. Nice friendly service! Great prices.

Since we have been coming to Mikes for the past year the food has gotten better and more consistent. The margaritas are wonderful and they carry the newest beer. Not your fathers root beer!
Meh... we came back here to try it again after it changed from Tres amigos. We really did not care for Tres amigos but wanted to see the difference. It certainly is an improvement, but not enough to make it a regular thing. The chorizo dip was runny and not very flavorful the sangria had enough cherry flavor that it reminded me slightly of cough medicine. The highlight was the burger. We had the drunken pig burger and it was quite good. The fries that came with it were way too greasy (I think the oil was not hot enough) our server was friendly and attentive and nicely dressed. I did notice one of the other servers that looked like she was trying to dress 20 years younger than her age. Her hair was unkempt. She did seem quite friendly though. We really felt that the lack of any music the room made us feel like we were in a library and had to keep quiet because we could hear everyone else's conversation.
There is very little "southwest" about this place other than the name, and a menu of margaritas does not make a Mexican restaurant. The place is clean but bland with little decoration to create a southwest atmosphere. The main room features a large bar, but not much else. Additionally a number of HD televisions are above the bar, but none with an HD signal. Service was fine, but the food was poor. The chips were clearly food service basics, nothing special and little flavor. The salsa was either canned or made from over processed canned diced tomatoes and chilies. There was no attempt to add spices and flavoring. A "hot" version simply had liquid from a picked pepper to add heat. I tried a "Tex-Mex" offering, Tacos with Rice and Beans. Again food service taco shells and ground beef with little flavor. The rice and beans were both dry and were not scratch made. Disabled access is ok. Location does not accept American Express. There are plenty of Mexican, southwest or Tex-Mex joints in the area that overall offer a better experience. This is one that should be avoided.

This place is real small and busy. Parking was plenty. I enjoy the patio in warmer months. Tables can be crowded too close to each other because of limited space inside. Our visit was Monday where Margaritas were $2.00. Regulars were strong but so so on taste, Mixed Reg/Straw was decent, BUT Strawberry Margs were STRONG and tasty. My food was good average. Good/average is my rating for a Mexican Restaurant that is not remarkable either good or bad... since we have so many EVERYWHERE now. Good/average means that the food was worth the money spent and we would return sometime in the future. Acoustics are poor and when the bar regulars start talking "DrunK- LOUD" it travels. Have a few Margaritas to filter this. I want to sit at the bar for once but all the damn regulars are taking up the seats everytime we go. Even Monday at 7pm. Service was good. 3 1/2 stars total.
My wife and I went there because we were out and it was close and Mexican food sounded good at the time. We took our children also. We sat out on the patio but unfortunately sat at a table and chairs that were very wobbly and unlevel, although looking at other tables and listening to other customers we found out we weren't the only ones. We ordered our food from the waitress, whom was very pleasant and helpful, and waited for our kids to simmer down. Before our food arrived I took my son to the bathroom. The door handle was missing and when we got inside the toilet paper holder was broken and the roll was shoved into the remaining holder handle. Upon lifting my son against the basin to wash his hands I turned around to grab a towel and there was none so we had to use toilet paper. Before we exited I noticed the sink had left some kind of rust colored stain on both his shirt and pants, which highly angered me. Back at the table our food had already arrived so I flagged the waitress and told her about the hand towels missing, which she thanked me for telling her. My wife and I finished eating and talked about our experience. We tipped the waitress because she was very good at her job, but agreed we will not be eating there again.
Relative to most Mexican Restaurants: 1} Food = D (the re-fried beans an oily mess) 2) Atmosphere = C (Nothing remarkable) 3) Staff = B (Fast and attentive ) 4) Dining room = D (packed in like sardines)

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here. The food, drink, and service were great and the band Last Born Sons topped the evening off just right. I never knew this place was nestled here until I was informed by someone. Cozy too!
Some friends & I got kicked out for being too drunk about a month ago. What kind of "Irish" tavern is this??? I've been to Ireland and can say this is no true Irish bar/tavern. Drunkenness & Irish taverns go hand-in-hand. Anyone that's ever been to the Emerald aisle know this. Deceitful name. P.S. Your horseradish penis poppers appetizers, whatever suck also. Could taste the freezer burn a mile away!
Good food, a bit expensive for the quality but the service is terrible. Usually they are very understaffed which means it takes much longer to get your food out to you.

Tried the drive thru service today. With no one else there in the morning, I figured service would be on par with the service one would come to expect with Tim Hortons. The drive thru server was short and abrupt, almost obnoxious while trying to place a three item order. They managed to get donuts in a box, which was the only up side to the experience. The donuts, however, were stale as if they were left out too long, they were the wrong type (Powdered Jelly Filled, rather than glazed), and the Ice Capp was watery and bland. Overall, the experience would not steer me away from Tim Hortons, but if I had a choice, I would keep rolling right into Toledo to the next Tim Hortons.
