We love Mexican food and good margaritas so we were excited to try a new place. Restaurant was decorated terribly. We decided to sit at the bar since it was just my husband and myself. I asked for a margarita menu and was told they don't have one yet, just a standard margarita. They were terrible. Full of generic syrup and weak on the tequila. We were offered chips and salsa with an option of extra spicy which we chose. That was the one great thing. Very fresh, spicy, good flavor. Sadly it didn't extend to our entrees, I ordered chicken fajitas. Bland. Weren't even sizzling when they came out. My husband ordered tacos. Also bland. Rice and beans the same. To top it all off we waited over 20 minutes for our food and sat with empty glasses for most if the meal and we were SITTING AT THE BAR! We definitely won't go back,

Went with a friend for lunch on Tuesday. I was hesitant after reading the negative reviews, but decided to try it myself. I'm certainly not sorry . We had very efficient service, not to mention friendly. The food was served in a very timely manner and was very good. Definitely will go again!

Decided to try out the New Mexican place in town. Was seated promptly (slow Tuesday) and received chips and salsa right away with drinks. Waitress was very nice . Sweet bland salsa (not a fan of sweet salsa), chips are supposedly made fresh but reminded me of baked lays chips. Ordered beef tacos and veggie burrito. No taste to either, again very bland. The only saving grace to eating some of the food was the over priced 99 cent tablespoon of sour cream you get. Decor is very Quaker Steak & Lube. Should have put more into the decor. Owner was working the room again tonight but did not visit our table.

Former location of a few other restaurants. Not a great sign when chains can't make it here. Some remnants of the last chain still lingered... Chips and salsa were brought to our table. Salsa was pretty bland and they did not offer a hot version. We asked for refills of the chips and salsa for our party of six and they brought out one round of less chips and smaller sized salsa - had to remind the server to bring us that round. For lunch I tried the chicken mole. That too was pretty bland. The chicken was done nicely and the portion size was appropriate for lunch - however it was priced as a dinner. They do not have a lunch menu yet. Ordered a side of house made guacamole. It came out cold - obviously refrigerated and not made table side / made to order. Disappointing for the up charge and that too was bland. I'm all for local places, but unless they make some some major changes I won't be coming back.

This was our first time to Paulina's and we will definitely be back. The service was great, and the food was quite good. There is an extensive menu, but it's not overwhelming. We had the Chile Rellenos and a chicken burrito, both were great. Hope this place is here for awhile..beats Cantina any day.

As other have mentioned the food was bland and pricey given portion sizes. Our server was well intentioned but poorly trained forgetting several promised items and struggled with details of the menu. As other have mentioned the decor was distracting (very Quaker steak) and a bit too cavernous for the homey feel they seem to be going for. Unfortunately we won't be back...

You'll be disappointed. Restaurant opened about two weeks ago, we thought we'd give it a try. We're seated promptly as restaurant was 1/3 to 1/2 full. Took fully 10 minutes to be greeted. Another 10 minutes to get two soft drinks and chips. Got one drink wrong. Salsa tasted of sweetened tomato paste, very bland. Ordered a chicken burrito and veggie enchalda. Took 45 minutes to come out and enchalada was full of meat. Guacamole was very good but tiny serving size. After another 30 minutes had to leave without ever seeing the veggie enchalda. The owner was working the room but did nothing to encourage the servers or the kitchen. Good luck if you decide to give this mediocre tasting mexican food a try.

Just opened but I won't be back. Food (steak tacos) not hot. No drink menu. Waitress wanted to read us drinks they had with no prices. Ordered a "vegan" taco brought out tortilla with lettuce and tomato. Not what was on menu. Waitress and owner seemed to be confused as to what it even was. Ended up eating after everyone else was done. Expensive for Mexican. Eh.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
