My first time to Paula's Cafe was a delight! Good food, good atmosphere and the most adorable, retro waitresses! Bonus: free pocket constitutions are available!
Popped in for a quick breakfast in the middle of the Great Lakes Relay race. Service was fast and the food was excellent ! I had the Dave's way breakfast. It was a heart attack on a platter but right up my alley. Loved it. If I'm ever in Indian River again I'll go back.
Saw this place on my way home from Mackinac Island, I normally do not stop at diners near travel stops, but i am really glad I did. The outside is nothing remarkable, but the inside is decorated completely with tea pots very cute. My wife loved it. This is a definitely a place were the locals come to always a good sign. For breakfast, I ordered the chicken fried steak which was one of the best, pI had their sauce is a little more brown than most white sausage gravies. The meat was real tender and fried to perfection. Their sausages are made in house and it would not surprise if they got the eggs from a local farm, very light and fluffy. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict she said it was one of the best she had the hollandaise sauce tasted great. The portions are huge there was enough to split with my son. The service was wonderful, just like you would expect from a mom and pop diner, definitely will make a pit stop here to come have breakfast on my way to Mackinac.

As a gal from Chicago I can sometimes be picky about my food. We have so many delish options, that sometimes it's hard to imagine a small town can do it up right. But, when my boyfriend and I were in Indian River staying at his uncle's cabin, we came here twice for breakfast. WOWSA! I wish they'd open a location here in Chicago! The first day we came here we shared the nutty camper and something with "heart attack" in the name. The second day we returned and my beau got an omlett and I got the nutty camper again. Let's start with the nutty camper. OMG. We actually loved it so much that we called our waitress over 3 times to write down how to recreate this at home. It's french toast. Only they dont dip the bread in egg or milk. They dip it in pancake batter. And top it with walnuts. It was crusty and carmalized on the outside and heaven on the inside. I honestly would have licked the plate had I been eating it in the privacy of my own home. I can't even tell you how delish this was. I got it 2 days in a row and honestly would have eaten more of it had we been in town longer (and also had my jeans not started to fit a tad too tight). The heart attack menu item was delish. Eggs with chili and onions and sour cream... it was so tasty. Talk about comfort food! I would also recreate this at home with some leftover chili on a cold snowy stay-in-on-the-couch type of day. All in all 5 stars! Bravo! DELISH!!! :)
Friendly staff!! Outdoor seating available and most importantly, great food! I had the beef sliders, and they were the tastiest little burgers I've ever had! Someone sitting next to us has these awesome looking strawberry pancakes! Will definitely go back!
We went to Wilson's for the first time a year ago on our camping trip to Burt Lake State Park. We went again this year, and ended up going 4 or 5 times. The restaurant is on the river, right outside Burt Lake State Park. It doesn't have a whole lot of seating, but we got there early enough we didn't have to wait. The service is your typical homegrown breakfast joint service... friendly, fast, and genuine. The food is excellent. I've gotten the blueberry pancakes (awesome and fill the plate), northern omelet (huge and also very delicious), nutty campers (french toast dipped in syrup and walnuts--probably my favorite, but a little sweet), and Lynn's scrambled delight (eggs with onion, green pepper, and ham). All the serving sizes are huge -- you won't go home hungry! Prices are pretty reasonable. Some stuff seems really inexpensive ($3-4), while most meals are around $6-8. But, like I said, they're huge portions. They leave a pot of coffee, which I always prefer because then I can fill it up myself. Overall, I'm a very big fan of Wilson's and will probably return next year!

I love The Inn Between. We stop there every time we go to Burt Lake or Indian River. The setting/location is hard to beat... right on the river, outside, watching the boats go by. It's also fun to dock and get out for dinner. The perch and walleye are always very fresh and always excellent. The fries and coleslaw are also very good and complement the fish. The service is usually very good, but can sometimes be slow if they're busy. No free refills on pop is the biggest downside. Otherwise, a very nice restaurant!
Bad on every level. It took 40 minutes for half of our party to get food and another 15 minutes for the rest of us to get food. Our drinks were never refilled. The blt wrap was made with bacon bits. The perch was served cold. The mini grilled cheese was made with upside-down burger buns. The Coney Island pizza is a fun idea but it tastes awful. The other pizzas were ok but one was not sliced and served with a slotted spoon. If you are boating down the river, pack your lunch.
Its a great view and a cool location to stop if you are on a boat. The food and beer selection are average at best but its still an affordable place to get a decent meal on the inland waterway. If you are expecting fine dining, go somewhere else. If you want a burger and a beer while taking a break from the water, the Inn Between will suffice.

We were in Indian River last week, and went to 310 BBQ for BBQ pork unfortunately there was no BBQ pork they were out and this is at 5 o'clock. So we decided to stop at McDonalds to try their sirloin burger. when we received our food through the drive thru the burgers were barely warm and the fries were so nasty you couldn't even eat them. I left A review with McDonalds and ask for them to contact me, guess what nobody contacted me, so now I'm putting it on Yelp.
