Great afternoon lunch stop for a margaritas with the ladies, on a Saturday afternoon. Very easy to find, just off the road, though the front door was another story. Oops. We were seated by the friendly host and tended to by our waiter immediately. Everyone was all smiles and the place wasn't too busy, but something kept delaying our waiter. He kept forgetting things like when we would ask for water, or didn't bring enough rolled flatware and couldn't remember to bring another when he came back. He was a little spacey, but it was a good experience, overall. The food was good - nothing stood out good or bad. We had lunch specials that were as expected. Margaritas were tasty and the menu offered many different options, though we stuck with the original lime. Great family restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves.

We go to Los Tres often for lunch. Prices are modest and the food is excellent. I love their salsa- near perfect and the lunch special with a taco, chile relenos and guac salad is super. Beers are nice too. Take home some salsa in a styrofoan cup, brown some chicken fingers rolled in flour or cornstarch, drain, put them in a deep dish with some peppers and the salsa (add a little extra cilantro or ask for it at the restaurant), sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20-30 mins at 400. Yum!

Had the shrimp chimichanga and it is sooo good! Grilled onions, tomatoes and shrimp with a delicious white sauce. Served with beans, rice, sour cream, guacomole and pico de gallo. Yummy! My teen loves the Burrito Nacho Cheese.

The service is not great. The food however is pretty dang good. We had a party of 7 this time and everyone like their dish. I had the shrimp chimi and it was awesome. The decor is decent and clean. Not a bad choice for Howell.

This was my first experience at a LTA, and I can say it was a great first experience! Everyone's food came out fresh and hot, and very tasty. I'm pretty sure the salsa and chips were the best I've had since moving back to Michigan... Fresh and garlicky, just the way I like it! The $3.99 ritas are great too! Well done, LTA- Howell!

Always a good meal at Los Tres. Salsa and chips are fresh. Meals are consistently yummy. Good margaritas, enough tequila that you feel like you're getting your money's worth, not too much either!!

The first time my husband and I went here I remember liking my dish, but we've been there a few times since and I've had nothing but mediocre to terrible dishes. The last time we went I got steak tacos, the steak was very VERY salty yet completely lacking any flavor, it was also REALLY tough and I got several cartilage-nodes. There was a lot of meat in the shell, but I would hands down take less of a better quality meat that was prepared tastefully. The pico de gallo was fresh, but most everything else seemed to come out of a can.

Everyone enjoyed their meals...I had a simple beef Chimichanga that was jammed with chunks of beef. The tacos got great reviews. The only slight negative was our server...she was new and I think afraid to be friendly... but after an hour of us she had no choice! We left her laughing...

Loved it! The fajitas and the chimichanga was phenomenal. The food filled us up completely, at a reasonable price around $10 per person including tax and tip. We were too full to try their desserts though, but I'm definitely coming back and saving room for fried ice cream!

This was the worst meal I have ever had. I have never sent my food back to the kitchen, let alone declined to eat it after trying it. This evening out was doomed from the second we walked through the door. The waitress was friendly enough, but took over 20 min to come back to take our order after dropping off drinks. Our chips had a hair in them (but the salsa was good). Once I got my food I was disappointed to say the least. I was delivered a plate of unappetizing slop. My chicken was tough and rubbery, rice was overcooked into oblivion, my tortillas were dried out, and the refried beans were, well, refried beans. My meal was taken off our bill but I will NEVER set foot into this place again. If I could give this place no stars I would.

They've never heard of horchata here. Do I need to say more?

Well I know one thing for sure, all the people who like this place love canned food. I knew it was not going to be a great meal when I tasted the salsa made with canned tomato paste. The "burrito sauce", which is enchilada sauce was so nasty, and straight from a can. The cheese in the relleno was so processed that it coated my mouth and teeth so I could hardly move my lips. The beef was slow cooked but again when you add canned ingredients it makes a good effort go bad. The only thing that was fresh were the beans. I am new to the area and I sure hope that there is good Mexican somewhere.

We have only been once. It was just after it opened. Just weren't impressed. We didn't like the chips or salsa. We are really into Mexican food so maybe that is the issue? Just didn't give me a good impression and we won't likely go back. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the area, it isn't funny. Not sure why. So I think it is hard because everyone picks their favorites and sticks with it. We drive to Brighton for even carryout, passing by the 4 places we could have stopped at on the way.

Food and service are consistently good. Sometimes the service can suffer a little when they are extremely busy. Try the Tacos de Carne Asada or Enchiladas Suizas.

a visit back in 2007 had us coming back to the Howell location this time, it was busy, we were seated fast, and the chips and salsa brought out quickly, service was fast, we had the double beef fajitas for three people, it was more then enough and requests for extra flatbread were quickly filled, we all agreed we enjoyed it and would return!! the price was very reasonable but we're canadians and accustomed to higher prices at home.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
