I have been here probably around a dozen times, each time I have gone recently it has fallen more and more out of favor with me. Prices seem to go up and food quality seems to go down.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant: a large menu, reasonable prices, excellent authentic Mexican food, habanaro hot sauce on the table. Recommended.

We went to El Burrito Luco by Knapps Corners and loved it. Since this is part of the chain we thought it would be a similar experience and gave it a try on a Sunday night. It was a totally different experience. Ok fine you have out dated blue laws in Grandville that make it so you don't serve liquor on Sundays. So no margaritas. (For some reason though they served beer and wine, wasn't Holland the opposite?) Our food came out and it was ok. But just ok. We had a hard time getting refills of water and pop. Or even extra napkins. They weren't that busy either. I got up and went to the bathroom, went to wash my hands and no soap! There were women working with food! I could tell that the soap dispenser had been out for some time. The manager refused to do anything about it. Six days latter I came down with something.

Decent place for Mexican cuisine, they have decent rice and beans and Jarritos sodas plus Mexican coke and Sidral apple soda. Recommended are the chicken tacquitos. Minus one star for the use of white American plastic cheez. They have queso fresco but if your entree doesn't come with it they will slather the fake melty junk on your beans and entree.

Again, I am a fan of Mexian food - especially tacos. Their particular tacos are not up to my tastes ("American-ized" like many restaurants around West MI); however, their service was very prompt - although it was not busy during the times I have gone. I also don't like that the chips and salsa refills cost money (about $3 for both one-time refills)

Hate to give this only 3 stars because I like the food quite a bit. The last few times we haven't got very good service and I'm not too picky. Here's how it works about every time,, walk in and get seated promptly. The waiter takes your order fairly quickly but that will be the last time you see him until you get your bill. Somebody else brings your food and I think it's always very good. You wait around because you want a refill or something is missing (wife wanted sour cream). Nobody comes around until your waiter brings the bill. I'm always surprised a bit how expensive the food is because the portions are on the small side. I reluctantly leave a tip that I don't think the waiter deserves. Weeks/months go by before I return but it's always the same.

Went here tonight remembering it was good in the past. Was completely disappointed. The interior is a bit run down, but clean. The menu was MASSIVE so I figured the food would be pretty "meh" because I can't imagine the kitchen staff can cook every single menu item extremely well and consistently. And that's pretty much exactly what we got. My chorizo tacos were good, but bland (chorizo was not spicy at all). My boyfriend complained his chimichanga was only crispy on the very edges, and was more of a wet burrito than anything else. But it wasn't bad either. But the real downer was the service. The waiter came to our table to take our order and bring our drinks and we never saw him again. Halfway through the meal we had no drinks. When we finished, we waited almost 20 minutes for a check and boxes we finally got someone's attention, it was either the owner or the manager (not sure which, but he acted like he was in charge). He apologized and got us our check and boxes. Offered us a dessert or drink to go, but we really just wanted to get out of there at that point. He was very friendly and obviously took our service problems seriously, but it didn't make up for the inattentive server. I did really appreciate the care, though. All in all, I'd probably eat lunch here again and hope for a better server, but probably not dinner.

I was really excited to try this place. The food sounded good in reviews. Brought my mom and sister here on a Saturday night. There were customers, but it definitely wasn't busy. We were seated and given chips and salsa and then waited 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging our presence. Several staff members walked by (some more than once). We never even had our drink order taken. I've never walked out of a restaurant before, but we got up and walked out.

Service was horrible!!! Food was just ok. Probably not coming back for quite awhile! Was very disappointed all the way around. The only reason I gave it three stars and not two was that my husband said the guy serving us was just ok although we only saw him around once or twice and was pretty quick to bring the bill. However, I felt rushed.

Went here based on reviews. The waiter acted like he didn't want to help us. We were a group of 6 people. Ordered bean only burrito with rice and beans on the side for both my kids. Waiter brought them a beef burrito and a taco each...I got something other than I ordered too...after grumpy waiter threw our food to us we didn't see him until I walked back to get a bill. No chance to try to correct it. We are not picky so we just ate it. Not one of the 6 of us liked our food. Not even the 3 who got what they ordered. We like most all Mexican food too! Wouldn't go back here.

One of out favorite places to go! Their food is great, the quesadilla loca is absolutely delicious. They start with chips and a salsa that is spot on! They have great drink specials, including their HUGE margaritas. If you aren't huge on tequila, like me, they make a great piña colada as well. Service is always good, as is the food. I've not had a bad experience the many times I've gone.

Took my 3 year old son here for lunch. We got tortilla chips right when we sat down. We ordered drinks 1 minute later. Ordered our food 1 minute later. Chicken nuggets and fries for him. Received our food 6 minutes after that. They got us everything quickly and kept him happy the whole time. I should note they were really busy too but the speed of everything as well as the quality of food far exceeded my expectations. I'll be bringing him back often.

I've been going here pretty regularly since they opened, It's not quite authentic and it's not quite tex mex, more of an odd middle ground. But, what it is, is great food!

Update - we went here last Sunday (kids eat free after all). They've changed the place a bit - just moved some counters around to make a friendlier entrance. We had a fantastic waiter. I dare say he was one of the best waiters we have had anywhere. I can remember when he was bussing tables way back when. I'm glad they promoted him. He was attentive to our needs, understood how to relate to our boys, provided just enough attention and follow up to be efficient. And the food - always good!

I almost gave it 3 stars but opted for 4 just because the food is so good. I enjoy knapps corner location better too, the atmosphere is more cozy and it has a quieter setting. The Grandville location has nothing to deaden the sound, it can get VERY loud in there. Service is hit or miss, the female waitresses seem to do better than the males. The margaritas are awesome, as is their fajita cassadilla. Nothing fancy here, just great mexican food at resonable prices.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
