High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. In town for a baseball tournament and my son and I had dinner in the bar area. The service was great, loved our waiter and the food was good as always. All of the employees looked like they love their job!

Phanum Music in the last week The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Went with my wife's entire family. My wife, 28 years old at the time, asked for an alcoholic beverage and of course the nice waitress carded her to make sure she was of age. Since my wife and I live in Florida the waitress had to talk to a manager because she was not familiar with how the florida ID is supposed to look. So after five minutes, three employees looked stumped. Let's remember, it is 2015, and a smart phone can almost answer anything. So, finally a heavy set manager named Ashley decided to come to our table and tell my wife, "your ID looks fake to me, but I am still going to LET you drink." The heated debate started, and she even admitted to living in Florida before and she still could not find out what a Florida ID is supposed to look like. Instead of providing calm customer service, she engaged in the heated debate with us, showing her arrogance and ignorance. Overall, the 2 major problems: she was going to let someone drink and she was unclear of the person's age, which is illegal on her part. Secondly, if Ashley was going to LET my wife drink, she could have just let it happen instead of walking over to our table and opening her ignorant mouth.

Thought it was a slow night so it would be a quick dinner... WRONG!! Melissa must have been having a bad night. 15 minutes for drinks and had to flag down a server to notice us.. Last time I'm coming here to the Applebee's in Grand Rapids!!

Applebee's is a trusted favorite. Food is consistent and I enjoy the 2 for $20 menu. A great value, and Tuesday night kid's night makes it an even better value. I would definitely ask to sit in Hannah's section if she's there. She's very attentive and helpful with suggestions!

Pretty bad.. I ordered the Thai shrimp salad (which I've had before at a different applebees) which was excellent. This salad was AWFUL!! The shrimp tasted like it was soaked in salt, plus the portion was tiny, it tasted nothing like the salad I had a couple months ago at a different applebees. I did send the salad back and ordered the oriental chicken salad instead, big mistake, the chicken was super dry and the greens were really bitter. My husband who very rarely complains said his fish and chips were terrible. Needless to say I will never return to this location again.

Lunch last Thursday was totally unacceptable. Dried out chicken wontons and our cedar grilled chicken tasted like leftovers. Very dirty booths. Not a usual applebees hopping staff. These guys appeared to be just going through the motions. No manager in sight. Terrible.

Just moved to the GR area...We were looking for a quick lunch and figured this to be a safe bet. The place was almost empty, we were the only ones our server had. We ordered 2 soup and salad lunch combos, and a kids meal for our little guy. The server, who was new (Jamie) was superb. We couldn't believe she was new. However, the kitchen messed up something with our order, and it took almost 20 minutes to get what I would consider lunch staples. Soup is pre-made, salads only take a few minutes to make, and dropping chicken and fries in a fryer shouldn't take more than 10 minutes tops. We didn't say anything, but the manager came over and explained the kitchen had made a mistake, and partially discounted our meal. We appreciated the attention to detail of the manager to correct the situation and to offer to adjust the bill. That's the kind of service that is lost in the food industry. Too many servers and manager turn their heads to issues...then servers complain about getting bad tips. Jamie was great, and we will be back, and request her specifically. Thank you Applebees!

My friend and I had lunch here on 4/26/15. By the time we left I was quite livid. When we arrived the hostess said she would have to clean a table for us, As we were seated I noticed there was still food scraps on the table. Our server Kelston D. arrived about five (5) minutes after we were seated. I pointed out the scraps still on the table and he just laughed and just brushed them onto the floor. Not surprising to note the floor was littered with food and paper scraps. We ordered our meal and when our salads were served I actually had to chase down a waitress to get silverware so we could proceed with our meal. About ten (10) minutes later our meals arrived. I again had to ask for silverware as mine was removed with my salad plate. My friend ordered the 2/$20 steak and requested it be done "MEDIUM RARE". When he cut into it, it was "VERY VERY RARE", not at all what he had requested. He sent it back and it took about five (5) minutes for it to return. It was still way underdone, but he ate it anyway, along with potatoes and a vegetable medley that was COLD. It seems like they could have at least microwaved his sides before returning the steak so all was hot. We did not see Kelston D, again until he brought our check. I ask how many tables he was servicing and he waved his arm and said "all of these". I mentioned to him that only three (3) of those tables in that area had people at them, [There were a total of eight tables in the area he had gestured at.] I was wondering if he has such a large area that he was so busy he couldn't stop by a couple of times to see how we were doing. I also asked if his name would be on our receipt and he indicated it would. When I arrived home I immediately completed the survey explaining all that is stated here. I am curious as too just how Applebee's will handle this matter. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND PROBABLY LAST VISIT TO APPLEBEE'S. Very disappointing experience for both my friend and myself.

Service was great, the food was really good and Macy was fantastic, it has a great family atmosphere. There are a lot of TVs in the bar with a different sport on every Channel. Great place.

Applebee's has been able to reinvent itself from being a high sodium content food, highly processed food restaurant to a better than fast food meals with reasonable prices and a better atmosphere for casual diners. Unfortunately, the location at Caledonia, MI has poor management that shows from slow service to food that can make you sick. We had to report a food poisoning from red meat which the manager did not show an effort to follow up. Dining in the area? better options: Qdoba or Panera.

My first visit here was ok. The fries were very salty and cold. But I will say the visit after that was great. The service is average and the inside is quite nice and has some tv's for people that want to view some games going on. I would recommend this place for casual eaters and as a place to go with your friends. Also don't forget the half off appetizers. They're delicious.

I love that Applebee's is open until 12am! Locals love it here and it is usually packed in the evenings, even on Thursday. The waiters are nice, and the service tends to be quick (unless it is just stuffed with people!). Great place catch a game, or to catch up with friends. The food itself is, well, ehh. I come here a lot because appetizers are half-off after 9pm, and a student with the munchies (and on a budget) wont find very many alternatives in Grand Rapids at this hour. The food is generally decent, and the portions are large for the queso Blanco and the artichoke dip (lots of chips). The quesadillas are filling and practically a single meal if you eat it by yourself. The green bean crispers, however, are DISGUSTING. I don't know who in the right mind would come up with the idea to deep fry green beans and serve them with barbecue sauce. Green beans are wet and soggy, people! It doesn't taste good to bite into a deep fried piece of watery wetness....

It's Applebee's, what do you expect? The pretzel appetizer is really great, and the chimi cheesecake is as well. Cherry lime-aide is good but mostly ice.

In the restaurant industry which I have worked in the past, service is everything. I placed an order for curbside pick-up. When I arrived at the time they told me it would be ready, I waited 5 minutes in the car and no one came out. I finally went in and waited another 10 minutes by the pick-up area before I was able to speak with someone about my meal. The waitress told me they would bring the food right out. Well, after two other cars pulled up and received their food and left I finally went back after waiting in my car an additional 15 minutes. The Manager said they had given my dinner to someone one else and was remaking the entire order because my wife's and kids meals were cold. Finally when they brought out the meal the manager apologized and said the meal would be be covered by the restaurant because of the 45 minute delay from the time I was told the food would be ready. Well wrong again!!!! After 3 weeks my charge is still on my credit card. POOR SERVICE and management at this location!!!
