My husband and l really like this bar. It's always a good time, t.vs on the one side and always fun dancing, darts, and water pong on the other. We'll go back for sure!
I went to school with a couple of the Prestons, and I am basing this review exclusively on the awesomeness of the kids... Dave and Nick, you know who you are.
Great family-owned establishment - the landmark bar in Grand Ledge. Say hello to Kebe when you go.

This. Is. Italian. I was brought by my roommate. She bragged and this place earned the rights. I will be back. I had fettechini (sp.) marinara florentine. I'm saying this with an Italian American accent with all the hand motions. My intro salad was blah and no bread was brought out prior to the meal. That was disappointing. I wanted a more festive salad. My Mark West Pinot noir was preserved well. Great balance and flavor. It was crowded with families. I believe I was the only brown face in the building. I didn't get many looks though. Our service was great. The staff was young and underdressed. The place looks Italian swanky but the atmosphere was relaxed. My pasta was al dente, my sauce was full of flavor and thick. No watered down tomato paste. The spinach was chopped, bright green and tasteful. The cheese blended well and the chicken atop was tender. The flavor of the chicken was very on point but never took over the flavor of the sauce. (I have this problem at home.) the bread stick accompanying my dish was a great compliment. I could not finish my dish and I'm not a light eater. I cannot wait to return. It's a ways off the beaten path but the right person will make it worth the trip. I'm excited to return and try the other dishes.
Life-time pizza lover. This IS the best pizza in the area! Nicely decorated, too. Prices very reasonable. Absolutely going back!
Came in from out of town for a family event. Was seated pretty quickly with my sister and her family. We all ordered something different. I ordered the lasagna and we all shared an order of 8 cheese sticks (Note! They're HUGE!) we each only ate one. Now with lasagna I am a HUGE snob, no one makes it like mom and I rarely even give places the chance due to multiple disappointments. This lasagna was AMAZING!! The sauce, the cheese and the pasta was just delicious. Add the sausage it's worth it! Everyone else's meals were enjoyed just as much! Of course none of us could finish the giant portions so we had lunch the next day. Will be going back my next trip to town.

I absolutely love their food. Mon-Sat they offer $5 lunch combos. Tonight we ordered take out and they were phenomenal and in such huge dinner portions. The potstickers are especially out of this world, the lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, egg drop soup and the orange beef were just AMAZING. Came up to about $35 and worth every penny. The ingredients and fresh and the meals are delicious. I highly recommend it. I do also recommend calling ahead because u will wait. Miam miam!!
Been getting take out from here for 2 years now and have not been disappointed yet. Beef and mushrooms is loaded both items in a wonderful spicy savory sauce. The pork and veg is also loaded with tender delicious pork and cooked perfect vegetables. Twice cooked pork is divine, just spicy enough to get your attention without overwhelming the dishes components. Two in the family like things very spicy and have been happy with the level of heat in every extra spicy request ordered. Family owned and operated with well deserved pride. Orders almost always take longer than the time told but it's always worth the wait.
Always consistent great American Chinese food! Been eating take out from there for a few years now. Everything we've tried has been excellent!

I was in Grand Ledge for a business meeting and the Log Jam was suggested to me as a good lunch/informal meeting place. We had a party of 5 and showed up around noon on a Thursday. The waitress placed us in a quiet place and was very friendly and professional. For a small town restaurant the Log Jam had an extensive menu and some pretty innovative specials. A good majority of my party had the catfish and hush puppies which they raved about. I ordered a French Dip, and while it's hard to screw that up...I thoroughly enjoyed it. Best of all this place has perfect fries (IMO). Golden, crispy but not burnt with a hint of salt and of a decent size. Overall I had no expectations entering this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. I'd return again if I am ever in Grand Ledge.
I love this restaurant. We dine here all the time, the service is almost never good but the food is always perfect!
Nice variety of well priced food. Small, but adequate portions. Thankful it is nonsmoking. Can imagine what it was like in the day. Would recommend.

Decent food, decent service, and you get way more food than you pay for! I really like this place! It's a breakfast food menu, but why does breakfast food only have to be for breakfast? You won't be able to finish your food! You'll leave with enough to reheat for your next meal for sure! The best breakfast food in my opinion!
Passing through town, I needed some breakfast. I certainly could have gone to Cracker Barrel, despite its politics and corny kitsch general store (whoopie pies) and enjoyed their great cakes. In fact I usually grab a box to take home cause we don't have this Fox News Channel of food chains back in wheat-germ and sandals California. Anyways, this place popped up on a leisurely drive down the Saginaw Highway and it looked good enough. Emphasis on the "house of pancakes" --that is always a big selling point when you can tell people what your specialty is. And who doesn't love cakes? It was pleasant enough, and the service friendly as well. Don't go expecting something fancy cause it isn't --it's basically a decent coffee shop that has blue hairs occupying tables ordering refills after refills of their brew (was OK). I had my carb load for the day with the simple order of scrambled eggs, easy, served with home fries and two buttermilk cakes. The eggs came in a real skillet and all looked great and tasted good. The eggs were actually somewhat seasoned too and the taters had a crunchy softness. The cakes were fine, though not spectacular, and paled in comparison to the ones at CB. But amid this quiet, pleasant coffee shop that apparently used to be a Bob's Big Boy back in its heyday, I'll gladly take this place next time I'm in the area. Oh yeah, all this and coffee for just about $6. Can't beat that either.
All I can say is- AMAZING waffles. I love breakfast at Sophia's but you better get their early or you'll be waiting for a table. The portions are large, price is reasonable, and the atmosphere is pretty much what you'd expect from a breakfast place. If you're on the West side of Lansing, this is a good place to check out!

(I haven't worked here for six months--and I've spent a lot longer eating here--so I think I'm safe.) Always good before the ownership change, the new owners have made things just a little better. A few tweaks to tried and true recipes are always welcome. My favorite is the Princess chicken (known as Kung Pao in other places) and an order of potstickers, but there are so many good dishes that it's hard to choose. By the way: I marked "I'm not sure" on the wifi, because the former owner never had it, but I've heard rumors that wifi is available now.
Dropped in for lunch on Sunday with the family. A nice restaurant that looks better inside than out. Had the Sizzling Rice soup which was okay, although the broth was a little bland. The Curry Chicken, however, was very nice indeed and the portion was generous. One complaint, and it's one that I have for several Chinese restaurants, is that there's no kids menu and no desire to offer smaller portions, which leaves us with the rather bizarre scene of a 5 year old being overwhelmed by an adult plate of chicken lo mein. That said, she ate half of it. Overall, decent quality, belly filling portions at a reasonable price.
I've been eating at House of Hsu for as long as I can remember and 85% of the time the food has been consistently on point. Occasionally our take out orders get messed up or I find the sweet and sour shrimp is totally lacking veggies. The service, however, is always consistently bad and unfriendly. I've also experienced unnecessarily long waits for food after ordering. The atmosphere is straight out if the 70s which in a way is totally endearing. They still have Christmas light up in July. Overall, it's a good choice for Asian food on the west side of Lansing, as long as you hit them on a good night.

Have been here several times now, both in groups and alone. I like this place. The decor is bright and shiny, some might like it. To me, it's a little off-putting. But no big deal, really. The menu is HUGE - almost too huge. Hard to decide what to have. But each dish is described in detail, which I appreciate. There is a large selection of lunch specials, and most come with either guacamole, sour cream, or both, so you don't have to pay for a lot of extras. The Fajitas Cancun is their signature dish, with steak, chicken, and TONS of shrimp. It's a large meal and quite delicious. Speedy service with two exceptions: checking on me after I receive my meal, and on bringing the check upon finishing. However, the wait was not significant to cause me any problems and so I consider this a non-issue. The food is f*&king DELICIOUS. I have not yet been disappointed in ANYTHING ordered. Full, extensive bar. Try Cancun, you will like it. I can't wait to go back again.
Don't go here unless you want to experience terrible service and mediocre food. Atmosphere is your run of the mill Mexican place with bright colors to distract from the run down furnishings. Food is just ok. Service is laughable. We went there with friends for drinks and apps before an event, when we were seated we waited at least 20 min for him to come over to take an order. There was a sign advertising mojitios for $4.99. Two people ordered those, while the rest ordered other drinks. When the mojitios were ordered the server said he didn't know if they had those. We mentioned they were a special drink for the day per the sign. They were ordered, absolutely disgusting, and we were overcharged for them. Each person ordered their own app and most of us ordered some type of cheese dip or guacamole. He brought them out and when we asked for chips to eat them with he said they were extra. We clarified that when you order guacamole or cheese dip they do not COME with chips, but you charge people $2 extra for them?! He said yes so we, of course, had to pay for it or eat the queso with a spoon. One person ordered a la cart tacos and they were Taco Bell quality with a little meat and a few sprinkles of cheese and lettuce. Our bills were wrong as he was trying to overcharge us for random things. We all paid with cash as this is the type of place/guy who would probably fill in a little extra for a tip. Upon correcting him and paying our bill, it was mentioned that the mojitios (which sat on the table after one sip ) were unlike any we've ever had and not good, he said "well this is a Mexican restaurant, I don't know what to tell you". Rudest service I have ever experienced. There's isn't enough room here to list it all. At one point we were all laughing because of how terrible he was acting and we felt like we must be getting punked. Go there if you must but you have been warned.
Excellent Mexican food in large portions. I easily split a meal with another person. Very reasonable prices. There are a few different seating areas, but I recommend the basement, it seems cozier. Great selection of food. Even my Dad, who hates Mexican food, found something on the menu to suit.

Great little spot for beer lovers. Local beers on tap and home to the delicious white boy wheat. If you are ever in downtown grand ledge stop by.
Very very bad. Maybe they don't serve bad food to everyone, all the time, but they did our family so we won't be going back.
Omg! Thank you Suri!! Asked that apple b**** for the closest bar while in town staying at my sisters. Walked in and immediately felt I should walk out. Decided to grab at least one drink, at 2.75 I ordered 2. That gets then the one star. Totally rude staff, couldn't care less. The customers matched the name... Right out of a freakin barn. Left after watching some a-hole scream and berate his wife/gf with not a single person thinking it was out of place. He should have been cut off and removed, but no, was continued to be served. The place needs dimmers. It was like a hospital hallway in there. Way too bright for that crowed and that time of night. Paid my tab and split.

Taco Bell

Reviews:
During my visit at this location I witness things I've never seen before. Its one thing to rush around and serve sloppy and skimpy food but at one point I actually seen a girl using her hands to measure out portions. She went from chunks of chicken, put them in one taco, to handfuls of steak and put them in another then proceed to use those same dirty fingers to roll mine..(a potato taco) which was especially tasteful considering I'm a vegetarian. I will not be coming here again.
Went into this Taco Bell for the first time tonight and was very disappointed....this is definitely one of the more run down Taco Bell's, which never matters to me as long as the service and food is good. In this case the food was terrible. My nacho bell grande was under half full, everything tasted stale and burned. It might have tasted burned because from the moment I walked in the store it was all smokey from them burning food. I have NEVER been to a Taco Bell and not liked the food. I will not be craving Taco Bell anytime soon because it was disgusting, and when I do want Taco Bell again, I'm gonna go out of my way to drive 12 miles in the opposite direction to a nicer Taco Bell. On top of this Taco Bell being run down, the food is terrible and the people that work their were unprofessional and bad at cooking the simplest things. Won't be returning to this Taco Bell ever again.
I have never been to a fast food restaurant and left with a smile on my face and thinking.. "wow, that was awesome." (lt's face it, that NEVER happens) I have been to this location several times in the last month..(its close to work when my tum -tum starts to grumble.) Each and every time the drive thru of course... (I am a speed eater) and the employees have consistently been friendly. They ask how my day is going, always have a smile on their face (never looks forced) make jokes and definitely brighten my day after a sometimes insane morning. I always complete the little online surveys they hand out (to show my gratitude and.. well yes,, to try to win that $1,000) and make sure they know just how awesome they are.. The icing on the cake was Halloween week, they were all dressed up.. (head pieces) and offered me Halloween candy! I was pretty excited about that... so to all you XXL Chalupa peeps out there( my main reason for going this particular day) .. stop by the Grand Ledge TB... and leave with a smile on your face.... and a lovely smell in the car :)
