I don't live in michigan any longer but usually when I come home I hit up this spot or their competitors which I will not list. The service is quick but quality. You can seem them cooking your meals over tye counter. I only come for tacos but I love them. If you want authenticity, you must come here. The only issue I had today was that my tacos were under filled.

The best I've found near downtown Flint. Great service and the food is always both fast and delicious. The only reason I don't rate them 4 Stars is the menu is frankly a bit limited.

The fish tacos are delicious! The beef is steaming, hot and flavorful. I love the choice of soft, medium, and hard shell tacos.

This is everything you would expect, and want, from a local Mexican restaurant. Its good and basic. The people knocking it are expecting it to be something it's not or have some other axe to grind, they are not based in reality though. The serving sizes are very generous and the staff is attentive. I orderer my kids chicken strips with fries and I have to say this place has the art of deep frying down! Exceptional taste. My wife and I both enjoyed our meals. We would very happily eat here again. The place was busy but never over crowded the whole time we were there.

Always stop to get these when I'm in town. They're cheap, they're solid, and convenient. Can I make better tacos at home? Absolutely (my husband agrees) but I always have to get these when I'm in town and it sure beats Taco Bell.

Nothing fancy but one of my "must haves" when I visit my hometown. The Mexicans are authentic but the cuisine is more American. I'm sorry I love these greasy tacos and fresh made foods.

This place is a disappointment. The food was bland, the chicken wasn't fresh, the lettuce wasn't even green, and the tomato sauce tasted like it was canned. To get the best Mexican food in Flint go to La Azteca Taco House on Court St. Avoid this place!

That I find myself looking forward to going to Flint is almost 100% because of the tacos at this unique place. Authentic? Sort of. Delicious? Yes. Everyone orders the tacos medium which means the corn tortilla shell has spent some extra time in the fryer = puffy. With cheese 1.00 each for beef, 1.30 for chicken. It is a hybrid of Mexican and Michigan, and it works for me. Vegetarians will find the version with frijoles instead of meat to be equally satisfactory. Maybe this would be 3 stars somewhere else, in fact I know it would be. But in the relative absence of food options that is Flint, La Familia Morales stands out. Oh, and it is adored by locals for dine-in and carryout so it can be busy at lunch. I have always been able to find a table though. Great deals on lots of tacos to go (12 for 10.50 with cheese etc.) The hot sauce is their own and I find myself loading up everything I can with it. The one time I tried something other than tacos I had a mexican plate and it was all really tasty.

This is a family owned restaurant that is so good, if you run into someone from Flint and mention it, they will drool right in front of you. It happened today at work, actually, and it made me want to drive all the way over there for some La Familia's lovin'. I'm a hot sauce fiend, and the hot sauce here is excellent. Partner that with something as simple and delicious as their tacos with cheese, and you're all set. That's it. That's all you need to eat to be satisfied. This place is not a "miss" at all, and the fact that it is in Flint only enhances its greatness. People call this place a hole-in-the-wall, and I know the best food places are usually holes-in-the-wall, but I think it deserves something grander than that because they are such great business owners and chefs!

If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, please do not go here. I weep for the people who go here and think that this is what Mexican food should taste like. Everything tasted like it was fresh out of a can, nothing seemed fresh-made at all. I could go on, but personally I would prefer to forget the entire experience, except to warn people about this place. It is truly the most disgusting food I have ever had the displeasure to eat.

Not bad at all. Overall the food has been pretty good, but call ahead first for takeout. You might have to wait a few minutes.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
