Can't go wrong with a classic Arby's roast beef sammich. Arby's has gotten a little pricey with the times, but seemingly so have all the fast food establishments. This location was clean, served us quickly, and seemed grateful when we rung the "job well done" bell as we exited.

Excellent. Great breakfast food--biscuits and sausage gravy was delicious, omelet was great, sunflower toast from homemade bread extremely tasty. Have not tried the homemade pies as it was too early in the morning to indulge, but they looked really good.
Breakfast at Kate's is a treat. The biscuits and gravy are delicious, the country ham salty enough to dehydrate you for the rest of the day, the eggs fresh and cooked to perfection, but who are we kidding? If you're at Kate's, you're there for pie. Delicious, homemade pies, in a variety of flavors. All with a thick, flaky, light as air crust that can only be created by using lard. Your grandma knew this, and so do the cooks at Kate's. Very reasonable prices, particularly given the quality of the pies. Get one to go!
Good service, great food. Restaurant was busy when we got there (9AM on a Tuesday). Friend and I ordered coffees and two orders of biscuits and gravy. Coffee was good (nothing special), and refilled promptly. Our food order took 45 minutes, but was well worth the wait. If chef Gordon Ramsey were to eat biscuits and gravy, he would eat here. If musician David Grohl was in town, I would take him here. If Jesus had a breakfast hankering, he would try the biscuits and gravy. If...well, you get the point. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Did not try the baked goods, but will have to in the future.

Salute Special Events

Reviews:
We had a great experience at Salute for their Mother's Day brunch buffet. It was only $21 a person, kids were $11, and kids under 5 were free. That included coffee, tea and soft drinks, with optional mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar. We were seated in the basement wine bar and the ambiance was excellent. It was a little difficult to make our way through the tables and chairs but it was cozy and intimate. On to the food! I was most impressed with the appetizer table. The highlights were spinach and strawberry salad, smoked salmon, artichoke dip, cheese filled sweet peppers, and the most amazing rip apart garlic bread! Plus a few differently topped pizza squares; I would try a return visit to their cafe for pizza. The entrée table included chicken, beef, ham and maple glazed salmon with two types of potatoes, two types of pasta and mixed veggies. The salmon was quite tasty. The dessert table was INSANE and just inside the entryway. We're talking magic cookie bars, multiple types of brownies, two Italian cakes, pecan bars, etc. Next to the pastries was dark chocolate fondue with fresh fruit, cookies and pretzels for dipping. Go down to Flat Rock for your next special occasion, you won't regret it!
We booked this venue for a luncheon to follow my father in laws funeral. Janelle was very helpful with setting everything up. The buffet menu has several options - roasted chicken, beef, cordon bleu, ham, etc. For a flat fee ($15.00), you can choose one entree', pasta, veggie, and salad. Potatoes, bread, and dessert is included. I was pretty excited that on the menu they offered honey baked ham. I was extremely disappointed to see the ham in person. I would equate the slices to a bologna slice. Honey baked ham, maybe, but The Honey Baked ham with crunchies, it was not.. :-( So on to the beef burgundy, I'd rather not. It was horrible, I opted not to even finish it. The roasted chicken was good, full of a variety of herbs. The redskin potatoes would have been great had they not been undercooked. The Caesar salad had the right amount of dressing, not too much, not too little. The croutons had that perfect crunch, but not overly hard. The twisty bread was so good, it didn't even need butter. Everything else was good. The included dessert consisted of connolis and brownies. I'm not sure, but they tasted homemade and were really fresh. They do have a full bar should you desire cocktails. The servers were pleasant and for the mostly attentive. We chose to add a couple entrees to have a variety for our guests, which you can do so for a nominal fee. They do charge a service fee of 18% which we were told is for the room, china, and linens. We were kind of confused when we got the bill and there was an additional section to fill out for gratuity. Apparently this is on top of the 18%. No biggie, just wish it had been clarified ahead of time. Salute is conveniently located in the little downtown area, but can be easily missed. There are some trees blocking the view of the sign, difficult to see if you're not familiar with the area.
Visited the ROC last night with my bride! Maiden voyage for her, enjoyed the pizza again and the Sherrard trio provided the musical entertainment! Perfect again, a real jewel to visit!

I was looking for a place to get a decent meal for our family and friends to take back to the visitation night at a funeral home. I didn't have time to order a deli tray, so someone suggested the KFC down the road. From the second I walked thru the door and saw the statue of the colonel sitting on a bench in the dining room, I knew I loved this place. How can you not love KFC? Of course I couldn't eat it every day, but it's a finger lickin' good treat! I just so happened to catch a sale - two free sides with purchase. Yeah buddy!! The manager took my order and was so patient with me as I wasn't sure how much to order for the entire family. She offered suggestions, asked questions all while wearing a friendly grin. Everything was hot and fresh. We were even given plates, forks, and napkins. My only complaint is about the butter and honey. This is not at all the individual restaurants fault, but the corporation. The honey isn't even honey - it's labeled 'honey sauce' and the main ingredient is high fructose corn syrup. The butter is like a margarine paste. I'm no health nut by any means, I just like real butter and honey for my biscuit!! lol!!

This is my usual go-to Subway since it's closest to where I live. I've been here dozens of times and have never had a single problem. Everything is always fresh, well portioned, and good. They never seem to be busy, so service is always fast and accurate. The workers there know what they are doing and actually do it.

In my opinion, the best chinese food downriver. If you go, please try the almond chicken or hunan chicken, it's amazing. The staff is always friendly and I've never been disappointed.
1) Food was not that great 2) They are VERY pricey compared to other places 3) They didn't include all of our order items Will NOT go here again.
My go to Chinese place since I moved Downriver. I always order without MSG and it's always great tasting.

Lil Dixie Cafe

This is a fantastic little diner for breakfast or lunch. Sort of a mini version of the Dixie cafe in Rockwood, it is only open from 7am to 4 pm and closed on sundays, but it is spotless, all the food is fresh and cooked to order, not to mention cheap and delicious a hard to find combination now. The wait staff is great I have met every member of the staff while eating there and have never had any complaint they are friendly and engaging, if you are looking to make a friend or two its a great place. If you just want to be left alone to hunch over your plate and devour whatever is put infront of your face this may not be the place for you. For me this has become a stop i make a few days a week. As a matter of fact i'm on my way there now for breakfast :) (I recommend the pancakes. Oh and the German tomato soup available on mondays! Yum)
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Cozy lil diner w/ a 50's cafe feel to it!
is this place ever open?
