We have been frequent customers of Lucky's as of late. It has never disapointed. The Prime Rib and Steakhouse Salad are my favorites. Awesome bread and a great variety of sides make this a solid win at a reasonable price.

The steaks here are pretty good, but a bit overcooked. If you want it medium, order medium rare. Go for the mushrooms with your steak, you'll be glad you did. My kids like the pasta dishes and the bread. The beer cheese soup is pretty good too. The beer selection could definitely be improved. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, plan on waiting for a table. They used to offer outdoor seating, but turned it into a banquet room.

I checked back and the prices are still the same...pretty good being a year later! And a couple more specials added.

For a small town steak house its as good as it gets. the wait can be long at times and the service is slow but when its the only place in town what would you expect. Steaks are good for the price your paying. Overall I would come again until something better comes along.

I came here with pretty high expectations, and they did not disappoint. Friends recommended this place, and I never had the opportunity to try until recently. Now I wished I have tried sooner. Food was well prepared, service was great despite how busy they were, and the prices are beyond reasonable. I'd come here often if I lived closer.

I went to Luckys again this past weekend. If you don't mind waiting for a table you will not be disappointed. I have always received good service. The bread is free and very tasty. When you get your meal there is a good chance you will be taking some home. Prices are reasonable.

We just moved out this way. Today was our third visit. Excellent food, ex large delicious cocktails, friendly & kind waiters, reasonable prices & Huge portions! Proud to take our friends & family here. They have full bottles of wine on every table. I wonder if anyone ever just pops a top? We'll definitely be back.

All I have to say is Maryland Chicken! Pace yourself on the bread because it's too good to put down (order some extra to bring home with your left overs!!) . Crazy large portion size for a reasonable price. Atmosphere: home like, casual, cabin feel, and bustling. We recently moved out of Fenton but we still go back to Lucky's!

Took my family to Lucky's for our oldest daughters 14th birthday dinner. We all got steaks and they were all excellent. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was nothing to write home about. My kids and wife all had absolutely excellent fillets and I had the gorgonzola ribeye, which was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The bread before dinner was downright delicious. I reccommend Lucky's.

This place was great. I went with four friends. Appetizer Calamari was great. I eat calamari everywhere and this was one of the tops. Two of us got the 9 oz filet. and 2 got the King Crab legs and the last got Lamb. All of the food was amazing. They make alot of their own dressings..I dont even like Ranch but I heard it was good and it was to die for. I almost had to be rolled out of there. service was great and I will definately be back.

Lucky's Steakhouse is a popular spot in south Genesee county. It is located in the Silver Parkway shopping area off US 23. We had dinner for 7 last week. The portions are huge, plan on a takeout box. The seasoning on yams and potatoes are heavy. We sat next to the fireplace, and 3 of the diners in our party got flea bites on their legs during dinner. Beware of this! The food is mediocre and overrated. We had the steak tips, surf and turf, monterey chicken, porterhouse and filet. Everything was adequately prepared. Atmosphere is dark, and there are usually long lines.

Best food in town! My favorite! If your a carnivore, like me, that is. The steaks are generous, and tasty, the ribs are delectable, and the salmon is oh-so-good!

I usually eat lunch at Lucky's with my favorite teacher from high school. We usually get the French dip, and it's really, really good. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant, but it is expensive for what you get. I ate there for dinner one night and for my graduation dinner, and I wasn't really all that impressed in the dinner menu. I love the bread. And the free Diet Coke refills. And the French dip. I'd say it's better for lunch than anything else. I think Lucky's might be the kind of place you go to eat with someone you need to catch up with because the food certainly doesn't distract from conversation, and when you need to catch up with an old friend, that's important.

We have never been disappointed in any meal we've had here - the food is excellent, and so is the service. My husband generally gets the 28 oz. Porterhouse steak, the thought of which sets him to drooling - it's always rare, as requested. I'm a fan of the pecan-encrusted grouper, and I always have enough to take home for lunch the next day due to the good portion size. Their baked potato soup with cheese, bacon and homemade croutons is a must-try! We'd give five stars, but are hesitant because of the recent change to the menu. You used to get two sides with your meal, but now only receive one, and the sides are about three bucks per if you'd like to add extras, so the value has decreased a bit. But the prices seem to have remained the same, and the quality of the food and service is still fantastic, so we will continue to return and encourage others to give them a try!

  • Mark K.

What can I say, this is one of the best steak houses I have been to. And I have been to many of them. What makes this even better is the prices. You have the fancy steak house quality and taste, with out the fancy prices. Steak or seafood it's great!

Best steak of my life was had at this Lucky's location. I've had other awesome ones at Lucky's in various locations since, but this one was so great. I got the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The au gratin potatoes alone are worth the price of admission. We make a special trip to Lucky's for various occasions. Love it.

If you like good meat and big portions, you will like it here! I loved my steak with sautéed peppers and onions on top. The coconut shrimp are great, and the chicken tender platter is BIG and delicious. Did I mention the big baked sweet potatoes? It can get busy. Service is not bad but not stellar. Bread is baked fresh and is served in a bag piping hot. Come hungry.

  • Jessica B.

The bread they give you at the beginning is amazing. I have been here three times, and even though I love the food, it has been very inconsistent on how well the food is cooked. I asked for medium steak, and I received well done (That happened once and it was with the new york strip, and it was terrible) It is expensive but I feel that since you at least get the bread, and two sides, its worth it. The ribeye is by far the best I've had at a steakhouse.

Pleasantly surprised by this place....never been here-and we really enjoyed our meal. What a nice little find.

This is a gem in the Fenton area, and to those lucky enough to stop by on their US-23 journeys. A wait is typical on a weekend night, but once you're seated, the food and service are almost always top notch. In almost all cases, the steaks are cooked to the level you wish, and always have great seasoning. Prices are not cheap, nor overly expensive, instead a fair balance for the type of food you are getting. I highly recommend trying Lucky's!

Good size portions, bland sides, tough prime rib. I expect much more from a specialty steak house, sorry ! Won't be here again.

That bread. That bread!! I don't know how they do it.

We live in Charleston, SC but recently visited family in MI and stopped in Lucky's for dinner after having not been there in 4 years. Firstly, we were seated in a booth by the bar and couldn't read the menu because it was so poorly lit (at 5pm in July nonetheless). So we changed for a window booth. I ordered a tall wheat beer and was delivered a short rye ale. The server noticed the size difference but couldn't tell it was the wrong drink anyways. The steak was below medicore. I had the 14oz NY strip which was (surprisingly) cooked as ordered but tasted like it was soaked in soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce for hours. My father had the filet mignon, medium, and received it rare (as did the table behind me) He also ordered a Cabernet and specifically asked for it to come with the steak. Instead, he got it 30+ minutes early with his salad instead. The server was scarce. We couldn't tell her the steak was rare because she didn't show up until the rest of us were done eating what we could even stomach. My wife ordered the New Orleans Salmon which was drowned in so much sauce (literally the BOWL was full of sauce, not just "topped" as the menu stated) that it could've been labeled as a soup instead. The manager on duty asked why we did not send the food back, but I've already covered the server's abilities. I grill NY strips regularly and it is probably my favorite cut of beef, but I've given my dog better scraps at home than what Lucky's passed off as a steak. For some reason they find it necessary to cover the flavor of the meat with needless sauces and marinades, or maybe we're just spoiled down south with the 8 extra months of good grilling weather to refine our abilities. Either way, I would never visit again despite how few and far between my visits are.

One of our favorite places. Service is always great. Food is awesome: Hot bags of garlic bread, love the calamari app, steaks, prime rib, seafood, salads, soup are all delish. The mac and cheese, baked potato and au gratin sides are favorites. Drink specials too. No birthday specials.

  • Anne L.

Good, solid, classic steakhouse. We've been several times and never a bad meal. Good place to take the parents/grandparents for family dinners. Service has always been good and they accurately represent wait times. We'll be back!

  • C R.

They make no effort to cater to those with food allergies (gluten free) and are very rude when asked to make substitutions/ or adjustments to the food in order to make them GF. We have two GF people in our family so we will not be going there for family dinners...it's too bad.

Steak was perfect!! Crab legs were fantastic. This place is far from home but worth the trip. If you want a great steak go to Lucky's!

In all reality I would mainly go here to EAT, not for atmosphere. I am in agreement with a lot of other reviewers in that Lucky's is a bit noisy. Okay, A LOT noisy. The place was packed on an early Sunday night (we got there a little before 6pm). The brief pre-sleep cranky crying from my 5 month old in his carrier did not seem to be overly distracting in the least to other diners. I saw a couple of other small children in high chairs near us looking lively too so I did not feel too bad about mine acting up a little. The bread (a small loaf that comes in a paper holder like in the store), like others have indicated, is also awesome. No one at our booth ordered appetizers. Everyone got 16 oz. - 22 oz. Lucky beer out of the tap. I ordered the salmon salad with a cup of the potato soup and both were very good. Although, while the salmon was nicely cooked and well seasoned, the slight drippings underneath the salmon tasted a little fishy. My boyfriend had the sirloin with steak fries and a Caeser salad and his friend a steak as well topped with gorgonzola and, I believe, a mixture of mushrooms and onion. Both enjoyed their meals. However, my BF takes his steak rare and it was a little bit more done than that. Other reviewers did mention their steaks being somewhat more done than ordered, so if you like your steak rare you may want to order it seared or 'blue'. No one ordered dessert. All food and drinks were served promptly. The entree portions are generally large and, unless you arrive uber hungry, you are likely going to take a to-go box home. I did for my salad. Lucky's is definitely a place that will warrant another visit from our little family. It's nice to know you can bring a potentially noisy kid and it not be a HUGE embarassing issue. I am also interested in trying some of the other dishes I saw on their menu (which can be found online on their website). Oh, I saw about 4-6 TV's in the dining room. Nascar was on the one TV I was facing. No volume though. Lucky's would definitely be considered casual dining. Our server was pretty attentive. There seemed to be a little bit of an issue with a new POS system the restaurant was using and she had to split the bill in 2 separate receipts as she could only get the system to run cards $50 at a time. One would think kinks like this would be worked out way in advance of a busy night in the dining room.

My parents have always raved about this place, but I guess I never saw what all the fuss was about. I've never actually eaten a steak here (I don't eat red meat), but I have had some decent fish entrees. Nothing to write home about, though....except the bread. The bread is delicious, but this place is expensive for the quality of the service and food.

Good steakhouse. Food is reliably very good. Their bread is really good. The wait can be long, as others have mentioned, and the atmosphere can be a bit loud. Difficult to have nice dinner conversation, if that's what you're looking for. Prices are fair, and portions are generous. I can recommend this place with no hesitation!

I ate there alone dodging the spotlight as I was led to my table around 5 on a wednesday, moderately busy...lets say 1/2-2/3 full.. I had the stuffed mushroom app, a house salad with bleu/cheeze, some bread, and a small filet with sauted spinach. and a coffee. carried out part of the app and the bread. total came to 27 something with tax .....no desert or wine. I was greeted fast, seated faster, drink order taken fast, and the server was attentive and concerned at the pace of my eating as to when to bring out the filet because of the medium rare order not to bring it out too early so it would get cold. No problems on refilling the coffee . The bread is yummy enough. the coffee is decent. the stuffed shrooms were pretty good. the house salad fresh enough, maybe too much grated cheese and It could stand a beet or two. the spinach was interesting maybe... a bit too buttered up but had bits of garlic so that was good enough for me. the meat was cooked right, a bit too much sodium in what ever they ladle on top...but it was tender enough. The waitstaff even the ones that weren't attending me seemed to be attending the rest of the guests properly and in a timely manner. I'd probably go there again....

Lucky's has been around for a couple of years, but it's really become kind of hit and miss in the last year. It has a great casual-nice atmosphere that makes it equally nice for a first date or a family night out. But the food has become a little blase. My best choice here: potato soup and loaves and loaves of the wonderfully flavorful, soft, moist, warm, buttery herbed bread. The steak is okay.

I ordered the Ribeye and it was so tasty. Great side salad and wonderful homemade bread. Yummo!

I've heard about this place for years and finally decided to see what it was all about. I think my expectations were WAY too high. To start, somehow we managed a 10 minute wait for four on a Friday night so we were pretty happy but as soon as I saw the main dining room I was a bit shocked. It reminded me of a cross between Big Boy and Outback(no offense)-but not as nice or clean. This place needs a major update and a lesson on dinner atmosphere. But ok we came for the food. Our waitress S* (don't want anyone to lose a job) was one of the worst I've ever had from the drink order on. Clearly didn't want to be working, and was terribly rude at every interaction. During the dinner at various points we had to grab other waitstaff to help us. We are never THOSE people. On to the food-the reason we came. Good and lots of it at decent prices. Twin filets with shrimp, lamb chops, side of mushrooms, steak fries, salad and bread. Coconut shrimp a bit well done but good. Drinks-stick with beer. They can't make a decent martini because we tried. Bottom line if you don't care about atmosphere, service, cleanliness or drinks and are strictly there to eat, go for it. We do so we won't be back.

Bar staff cannot pour drinks correctly. There are no specialty drinks for this restaurant. Seafood is frozen except for the salmon and grouper. I do not understand why they have to rely on frozen seafood. At least the bread is good. Onion soup is good has a nice flavor. The presentation was as expected. The server was a little slow and got our salads wrong, but was a fair server. I have had much worse. Atmosphere was crowded, noisy and dark. Needs to be modernized. I got the pecan grouper it was good. It was one the fresh fish they do have on the menu. The garlic mashed potatoes were terrible bland and tasted old. I told waitress and she said they make them every day seemed almost argumentative to me. But she said she would get me a baked potato as I requested. The waitress brought the wrong steak to one of the members of our table. The steaks were good but I've had much better. The baked potato was not cooked properly. It was hard and dry and inedible. This restaurant has missed the mark at be a good restaurant. At most I rate it mediocre to poor.

Salmon is cooked to perfection. I always order when out and this place is the BEST with the salmon, everything 2 looks great as well.

Excellent food, excellent customer service. The dining area gets kind of crowded when it fills up, that's understandable but can be an issue if you don't like tightly packed places. Price and atmosphere are great. Has definitely become my go to restaurant for a nice night out

The wait was looooong. We went on just a regular Sunday and waited an hour to be seated. The hostess sat us down and then asked us to get up, because they had made a mistake on their part. As for the food, I had the Rib-eye, and it was very good. It had good flavor and the au ju was salty like I like it. The bread was excellent and the sides were plentiful. I'll definitely visit this place again. Hope the service is straightened out by then.

Another fabulous meal at Lucky's! Had the twin filet with shrimp scampi, which was cooked to perfection. Server forgot to put in our appetizer order, but that was ok. Excellent food, ok service, dynamite atmosphere- love that place. Highly recommend. A++

I can fill up on the bread and salad. Loaves of hot bread brought to the table. It's the best. Pick from good fried cod , grouper or a steak.

This restaurant is amazing! We went in on a Thurs. night, there were 10 of us, in town for a funeral. Had 15-20 minute wait, the place was full. The service was impeccable , food was wonderful and the prices were so reasonable. We will definitely be back when in the area. We were all from different states or areas of Michigan and had not been to a Lucky's before. Don't change anything!

My bf and I were driving up north and stopped at this restaurant rather than bk or mcdonalds for dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised! The bread here is absolutely delicious! We shared the calamari, which was a bit more oily than either of us cared for, but was tasty nonetheless. I had the lobster pasta, which was great and filling. My bf had the ribeye, and he thought it was so-so, but that's actually saying a lot for him. If given the chance, would stop by again! This is a family restaurant, so expect the noise level to be fairly loud!

First time here. Great food, good portions priced right. The bread they bring to the table is good. The steaks are to die for, they are that good and tender.

First time, wont be the last ! Came in for dinner on a Friday night crowded, but sat right away. Waitress came and got drink orders, she was not the the friendliest ever, but none the less did her job. Drinks and bread were there in no time, the bread was awesome. We both had steak, me the rib eye, the other had filet. Both steaks were amazing, done perfectly. One of the best steaks I have had in quite some time. If your in the area do yourself a favor stop in.

Cannot say enough good things about Lucky's. Food is delicious- Filet is INCREDIBLE. All around good service, good selections, and don't forget the yummy bread!! Worth the drive from anywhere.

Best place in Fenton to get a steak, hands down. My family has been going here for years, the service, food and atmosphere has not deteriorated at all, it's been very consistently good. With that being said, the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the bar area is excellent, but the main eating area needs to be renovated. The lighting and colors are good, but the lack of privacy and incredible amount of noise pollution is really distracting. More recently the steak is not as good as it once was about a year ago.

I came here for a work Christmas Party, thankfully we were ushered into a separate room because the bar/restaurant area was a mad house. First course, salad and bread. I could have an orgasm just eating a piece of their bread. A warm loaf of garlicky goodness..OMG! The salad was really good too. Even better, the Mahi Mahi. So, so, so good. They sprinkle a few tempura shrimp on top, with this dipping sauce on the side and some mixed vegetables. I was a member of the Clean Plate Club that night. My husband even said it was the best meal he has ever had (obviously I don't cook). I have been thinking about that meal ever since. I cannot wait to go back..I'm just dreading standing in line for a table in the restaurant area.

OMG!! This place is the best steak house ever! I cannot say that too many times because I don't want you to forget. No...really...I mean it! I had the most mouth watering NY strip steak and my hubby got a "melt in your mouth" prime rib! These meals came with really great tasting side dishes and many to choose from. We shared as a family so that we could taste a few different ones. There was "to die for" garlic mashed potatoes! I had several choices of french fries, steak fries, slender fries and they were so wonderful and made my mouth's tastebud's dance for joy! We went to Lucky's because it's in the city where my daughter lives. It's about an hours drive from our house. But one time we even went when she wasn't even home. We sat at the bar and visited with the "regulars". They were as nice as they could be! The bartender was as nice as she could be also! This was our second time there, or third, when we got the mouth melting and mouth watering steaks and prime ribs. The first time we just got Burgers, but those were soooo dang good too! They were full of taste and my husband had a great beer and we enjoyed talking to the "regulars" who say that they "love this place" and some of them come weeklly! I tell you...if we lived nearer to this restaurant, which is way ahead of the "Outback Steackhouses" (if you ask me...and you did)...we would certainly become "regulars" and eat there as often as possible! LOVE ...LOVE...LOVE it!!! Ok...the not so great news...you knew it was coming, right? Well, the service was good but not the best. The first time we went, it was awful...the second time we went we sat at the bar and she was great! The bartender gave us super service and with a smile and a great chat too! Then this last time we went, the service was just "OK" but everything else was perfect and it was not awful service...believe me, I've had much worse... Worth every penny to eat here !!

Great food with an upscale atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for consistently great food. The Babyback Ribs are so tender you can eat then with a fork. Some of the best BBQ ribs I've had.

Lucky's was a great find while staying at the Fairfield Inn nearby. It was a Tuesday night in July and and still a 25min wait but well worth it. I had the Filet and Lobster which also came with a soup or salad choice (I had the wedge) and a choice of side. I ordered the Filet med-rare but got it cooked more medium and that was my only fault. The lobster was great, salad was good and steak fries were also okay. A ton of food for the $23 - as I sit here now in the hotel I realize I are too much!

When my husband and I are in the mood for a great steak dinner, we head to Lucky's! We always order the Cajun Ribeye dinner and it is fantastic! A perfectly grilled huge ribeye smothered in onions and red pepper slices, seasoned to perfection! The bread is also amazing! We will be back for more!

Must have been an "off" night. Aug. 15, 2013. Must say, the ribs were delicious. Dining partner's tomato and mozzarella salad had unripe pink and white tomato slices, in the peak of Michigan tomato season! Coconut shrimp were over-fried to a hard, dark crisp, with about a teaspoon of orange sauce. Should never have left the kitchen. Caesar salad was full of brown lettuce and had no dressing, so a bit of the vinaigrette that came with the friend's mozzarella salad was used to give SOME flavor. Waitress disappeared, so we could not ask for caesar dressing or re-do of the shrimp. Bread was delicious! No wet naps for the ribs, so we had to use ice cubes and our cloth napkins to get rid of sticky hands. Not a good experience. Looks like they're cutting back on quality and attention to detail. There appeared to be no one to discuss our disappointment with, just a gaggle of teenage girls seeming to run the place. Won't be going back soon.
