The food here is definitely serviceable, but at 3am after the bars, casino, or clubs, how could you care? This is a great place to meet people and be an annoying drunk. The service staff is phenomenal. Amanda was our waitress and put up with all manner of nonsense from my table like a consummate professional. I would've kicked me out. Best chicken Schwarma anywhere.

It's a nice place for cheap food and coffee if you're leaving a club or casino in greektown in the late hours, but I would never eat there otherwise. The food is cheap-tasting and boring. The falafel is sad.

Went to Plaka's after a night out on the town, and even though it was 4 in the morning we still got outstanding, friendly service. We ordered, ate, then ordered again and then ate again and our waitress never got tired of us, even making a cute little joke every time she came to our table. The food is great, too. It's the same coney island food you're used too: coney dogs, fried wing dings, gyros, so if anything, come for the service not just the food.

I see no reason to frequent Plaka's unless you're leaving the club at 2am. It's funny and sad at the same time. If they aren't running to the Coney Islands, Plaka is the next best destination when you have the munchies. The typical crowd is still buzzing from the club and are more than likely loud. I commend Plaka's staff greatly for still having awesome service. The food is pretty good. Typically breakfast food, like their french toast, is my favorite. However, they are also known for the gyros and pitas. Definitely check Plaka's out (at night)...the experience is not the same when people are sober.

Small little Greek diner in small little Greek Town in downtown Detroit. This restaurant has been here 25 years and still plugs away. The owner is Greek, but the waitresses, at least duing lunch, were Caucasian and African-American. They were friendly and efficient. I just stopped for a quick to-go order on my way to the RenCen, about 4 blocks away. I order their special "The Big Deal". Which, by the way, was a really "Big" deal.! This is a Gyros sandwich, with huge amounts of spiced and sliced meat from the vertical broiler, fresh yellow onion slices, and large chunks of fresh tomatoes, all stuffed but bursting out of a thick, round, flat bread pita piece. It was served with a mountain of fries and a creamy dill dressing. That and a large soda was "The Big Deal"! . Only $7.95 and it had enough food for two meals or two people. This little restaurant offers shuttle service to the pro teams that play nearby, including the beloved Red Wings, the surprising Tigers, and the hapless Lions. It has been in business for 25 years. Stop here first and you will save money at the stadiums!

Nothing special nor bad about this place. Good food at food prices with quick service. Ordered a gyro and it was very good. Have been here many times in the past and this experience was right in line with the others. If near greektown and need a quick bite this place will more than satisfy.

Excellent restaurant for late-night food after a night out on the town. The restaurant is clean quick and provides great tasting food

This place is pretty unassuming as you walk through Greektown but it's one of the only places open at 1030 if you're looking for something to eat. We walked in to grab some breakfast, were immediately greeted and sat. There was only one other table at the time but more patrons slowly trickled in while we were eating. The wait staff was friendly and on the ball with refills and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was your standard diner fare erring on the Greek side and I noticed that their menu was also pretty standard...we opted for the breakfast special at $3.99, 2 eggs, choice of meat and toast and hash browns. It was just the right amount of food to prep for game day shenanigans. The food was decent albeit the bacon was way overcooked but I'm not complaining....this is a great option to get a solid base. FYI they serve beer and they have Bloody Mary and Jungle Juice machines primed for the morning crowd so come get your shine on.

Not any more ... was thinking about a 1 star but service was good. I would skip next time. The price for the food doesn't match. I think slightly over priced. My advice is skip this one and try the many other places in greektown.

This is a decent, cheap, no-frills kind of diner open all night in Greektown. I've came here a few times after a night of partying nearby and have usually gotten either breakfast food, a gyro meal, or the fried smelts w/tartar sauce (a rather tasty and hard to find treat actually!). I've never left disappointed - but I usually do leave with some 'temporary sticky ribs syndrome' from all the grease. This diner is NOTHING fancy at all and not a sit-down restaurant feel like its neighbors Pegasus & New Parthenon. Like I said - if you want one of the cheapest late night Greektown options and don't mind a louder, rowdier clientele late into the night - it's a good choice. It may make for a quieter experience in the daytime - but truly this isn't a place I eat at when I'm perfectly in my senses. Haha. Food is good, service is slow but steady, and the dent in your wallet is very light. Try it out next time you're a hungry cheapskate in Greektown and on the prowl for some Greek/breakfast diner eats late night. I'd definitely recommend another nicer neighboring restaurant earlier in the evening before going out, though.

Welp, kind of disappointed. Wait, really disappointed. Maybe I need to be drunk to think this place is great. Came here before a Wings game and tried out their gyro. I was unimpressed. They do however have great service and a helpful staff. The only reason it gets three stars is because I was disappointed with the gyro. You are in downtown GREEKTOWN!!! Come on meow!!

  • Dan P.

Came here looking for some cheap eats. Got the Chicken Kabab skewer plate, and a spinach pie. The chicken was FAR overcooked and dry, not to mention one small skewer for a $15 plate. The rice was over seasoned with something funky and wet. It was a mess of a plate. Plus the girl that was "serving" us was really sloppy, rude, and had a mouth on her.... totally unprofessional. I would stick to some other joints down the street that looked a lot better.

  • Dea A.

2am Greek omelette and a cup of cheap coffee is the perfect pick me up brain food on a night of last minute cramming. This kind of food isn't good when there isn't desperation involved. As in, one of the few places open at night with a menu beyond coney dog.

  • Jared P.

I'm a big fan of this Greek version of a fast food greasy spoon. I don't say that to dissuade you, just to set your expectations. Open 24/7, you always know you can get some good food at this place and with great service, it's definitely a good decision. They have all sorts of Greek food and some interesting combinations like the Gyro Meat Omelette (my favorite). I've also had the Gyros and a couple of other Greek specialties, which were great. I've found this place to be a default for late night food cravings and even a place to visit when you're sober. ;-) We had friends in from L.A. on a Sunday night when everything was closed and we took them here for some quick food, which everyone liked. If you're looking for good Greek food that's fast, cheap, and always available, this is the place to go.

  • Dennis B.

One member of staff absolutely floored us with her rude uncalled for comments. We walked out. I feel bad for our waitress, she was not the problem and would have gotten a fat tip from our party of 10+. To many places to go to without the attitude.

    (1)
  • Athena K.

This is a nice little Greek place, open all night, with good service, decent food and clean bathrooms. There's a lot of food in your order, so be prepared to take some home.

    (3)
  • Ala M.

Food was served fast but cold the only thing hot was the eggs i would rather wait for fresh hot food then get food thats already sitting there not even warmed up!!

  • Amy W.

Plaka's reminds me of any other coney joint you'll find in the metro Detroit area. The food is cheap and I've always been content with the quality. The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. This is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat before a Red Wings game (just hop on the People Mover in the casino). The only complaint that comes to mind is the guy who appears to be the owner or manager of some sort. He's usually running the register. Although he's never been nasty to me personally, I've seen him be quite rude to MANY other folks who've come in. I realize that you're going to get customers who are jerks (I've worked in the fast food industry, I KNOW it gets frustrating), but this guy is just plain rude to tons of people for no apparent reason. I can't tell you how many times I've walked out of that place with my friends and we've all looked at each other and said, "Geez, what's HIS problem?"

  • Aaron S.

Horrible food. The chicken was dry and the Greek salad was made with iceberg lettuce. My waitress was rushing us to order. She gave me a good bit of advice that would've been useful before hand. She said she doesn't even eat there! They brought gyro dressing for the Greek salad then asked did I want Greek dressing or something. Last but not least she asked us if this is going on 1 bill. I was with my wife and two kids. I'm done. I gave it 1 star because I had to.

I live downtown and I'm so happy that Plaka is open for me whenever I need a 3am loose burger, a gyro for lunch or breakfast at 7pm! So convenient and I love the late night waitstaff. The owner is such a sweetheart and very welcoming! Their food is well priced and comes in filling portions. The only thing I can complain about is sometimes there's a wait on the weekends bc they are completely packed but I always wait if I have to, it happens everywhere downtown lol A few of my favorites here : Philly cheese steak, fried mushrooms, loose burger, super nacho appetizer, potato bacon soups on Mondays and fish and chips! Definitely a tradition for my friends and I after bar hopping or the next morning hangover breakfast oh and btw they serve jungle juice, bloody mary's and beer!

    (4)
  • Cassandra Y.

No real butter and food was bland... If your looking for something quick this is the place, however if your looking for flavor it's not!!

    (2)
  • Mousa K.

I feel extremely bad for the friendly employees for always being yelled at by there manager/owner. Very rude person, swears at employees in Greek. Also the food here has poor quality. The greek salad doesn't even look like a greek salad! It was chopped up iceberg lettuce, feta cheese, black olives and dressings. No olives, peppers, tomatoes and no olive oil!! The shrimp basket dinner was alright. Service was excellent but food really wasn't. Last time i will dine in here, I'm not going to a restaurant for yelling and swearing. Try Pegasus across the street from it. Really good food!

  • Nick M.

When I used to work in Detroit this was a great place close to my office. There would never be too many people in line at lunch time and the food was served quickly. My preferred lunch was a couple Coney dogs and fries, which were inexpensive and really hit the spot. I can definitely imagine this place getting busy on Friday and Saturday nights, just like every Coney Island in the metropolitan area. The food is good, cheap and fills you up. What's not to like?!

    (4)
  • Meghan E.

I was in Detroit for a conference staying in the Greektown area. I did not put much effort into finding a quick and tasty meal since many reviews of restaurants were average. I walked by Plaka's and it seemed to be low key and the menu had many options. I ordered the Greek salad and gyro. My meal was ready immediately and the server was very accommodating and friendly. Everything from service to food was excellent and I would come back here.

    (5)
  • Tom O.

An authentic, divey Greek diner. Probably a 3* around dinner time, but 4* if you are there at 3 a.m. after some drinks. Gyros was stuffed with delicious gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and sauce on the side. Spinach pie was just ok....not very light or flaky. I wasn't a fan of the Mythos beer. Tasted like a bad, cheap domestic. Service was fast and friendly.

    (3)
  • Amy G.

We came to Plaka's before a Red Wings game. We were more in the mood for a cheap, fast joint than the fancier restaurants, which had long waiting lines anyways. I got the gyro platter. I received a large amount of beef and lamb on pita with onion and tomato. One gets the choice of rice or fries, and I got rice which is seasoned and came out with a tomato sauce drizzled messily on top. One also gets the choice of salad or cole slaw, and I got the salad, which was a simple mixture of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes. It is amusing that every 10 min or so someone would order a dish that is lit on fire, and everyone shouted "Opa!" The staff is laid back and nice. One pays at the cash register before leaving, if that's any indicator of the casualness here. The food here is totally mediocre--nothing fantastic, but enough to keep one satiated.

Oreo pie ummmmmmmmmhhhhh amazing Plaka is the place where you can walking any time of the day and you can easily enjoy amazing food I started my course with an amazing actually the best chicken lemon rice soup I ate from an long time and the texture of the soup is nice and smooth just melting in the mouth My entree is an lamb gyro it's a mix of lamb ands beef on a flat bread with onions and tomatoes with the frozen fries , they said it's the best one in the place I felt the lamb and meat was super fresh even at 2 :30 in the morning but bit disappointed with the bread. Ending my late night birthday meal with an outstanding amazing wonderful mouthwatering absolutely perfect Oreo pie Ahhhhhaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh I am just in an food orgasm that the one which I can say by far the best way I have tasted with the Oreo. Will I come back : Yes Value for money : 80% Staff : polite

Can't testify to the food, we stopped for drinks. Owner was friendly, service was attentive... but then the waitress tried to steal $20 from our group (money we'd given her to pay our check with, which she charged to another party member's credit card). When we called her on it, she laughed it off a couple times, and when we didn't back down, she reluctantly gave it back. We're waiting to see if the credit card charge was voided, because she never gave us a receipt or change.... REALLY unhappy!!!! Blatantly dishonest!!!

For what this places professes to be (a typical Greek diner layout / format), it hits the spot. Looking for a quick bite after the game we chose this spot due to its welcoming atmosphere and short lines. I ordered a gyro sandwich platter with fries. When the platter arrived it was stacked with gyro meat on a grilled pita and topped with the requisite onions and tomato...tzatziki sauce on the side. Flavor was just average (not really great but not bad either), meat was slightly dry. Tzatziki sauce was good, but I prefer a stronger dill flavor. Fries were standard-issue...no extra flavor, shape, seasoning. If you are looking for a quick, reasonably priced meal in the Greektown Casino area this place will do the trick.

After a long day of traveling I found myself grounded in Detroit for the night. Hungry, cold, and getting late I took a cab to Greektown and wondered into this 24hour Greek restaurant. The owner was extremely welcoming and kind, just what I needed after a long ordeal. The food is very good here. I ordered the cheese dish that they set on fire, amazing presentation, and the falafel with housemade hummus. Washed it all down with a traditional Greek beer. Food is fresh and clean here. Quite possibly the best thing to happen to downtown Detroit in a long time.

  • Cory G.

Perfectly serviceable diner. Fast service, warm food, attentive servers, and breakfast served 24 hours a day. Haven't tried the Greek food as there are many fancier places in Greektown to choose from, but for breakfast (any time of day) I recommend this greasy spoon. It's a bonus that Plaka is next door to Astoria bakery.

    (4)
  • Carole H.

Eating off of the breakfast menu is a much better choice than the dinner items I was choosing before. Solid omelet. But what really tips the scales for Plaka (besides being 24 hours and an equally awesome late night as well as breakfast spot)? They serve bloody marys, and JUNGLE JUICE!!!! First off, a 24 hr Greek diner serving booze is just rad. But Jungle Juice?! Yes the red, fruity, sugary, boozy, dump-3-packs-of-kool-aid-some-juice-and-whatever-leftover-booze-we-have concoction that was a staple of my college years is available. And I love it. So, so much. The only thing that makes it even cooler is they serve it in the morning too - so when you need breakfast and another drink to take the edge off the hangover from the night before? Plaka is your one stop shopping. :)

  • Angel B.

Occasionally we eat here for the gyros, and they have the BEST cappuccino around. Honestly, I still can't find a cappuccino at a cafe that's better than what Plaka's serves. It's easy to find, simple, everyone is kind, and it's clean. Food is always fantastic and served in a timely matter. Prices are perfect. Definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a quick, delicious, filling meal without killing their pockets. And heck, it's in Greektown! The atmosphere is fun and warm; I like to think of this place as a pit-stop for anyone in town for a night of partying.

    (5)
  • Nikki C.

Plaka definitely served it's purpose the night we needed it. Open 24 hrs and PACKED! There is a boucer-type "host" at the door who stands guard, keeping those waiting for a table outside and allowing them in as a table clears. I guess that keeps things organized since there isn't much room for standing around on the inside. Once seated, the service is friendly and efficient. As crowded as it is in there, you really have little to no lag time once you're seated. The waitress took our order, then Boom! Our food was served. With the crowd they had, the kitchen must have been crankin. I had pancakes & turkey sausage. Simple. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Mr.Tom Karadimas outdid himself when he redid this place. Food is great for late night after party, drinks are great, staff is hardworking and always get my order right. Love this place!

  • Jennifer B.

I eat here regularly before heading to Comerica Park to catch a ball game. Service is super fast and friendly and the food is good! They even have a free shuttle that will drop you off at the park (but the walk isn't too bad either). I've seen the owner every time I've been there there he's very friendly and welcoming. A great place to stop when you're in or near Greektown!

  • Gloria Z.

Came here at the recommendation from the concierge at the Atheneum. Was not disappointed at all. Very little ambience but the food was great and the service good. We ordered the gyros, the chicken kabobs, 2 orders of the hummus (went for round 2 after we devoured the first order), and a baklava. The food was still amazing the next morning, cold, I might add! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

    (4)
  • Brendan B.

We had breakfast here and it was so good! Their French toast was one of the very best if not the best I've ever had. Friendly service, cute diner atmosphere, great location. I loved how you could order breakfast any time of day.

    (5)
  • Brian S.

Open 24 hours with some of the best gyros around. Always crowded which tells you how good the food is. Good price and great food.

Native Detroiter in on a trip from LA, so when I'm home I need get those dishes LA won't deliver. This place nails it. Breakfast like I know breakfast, mountain of hash brown, option of gyro meat. Sold.

Went to Greektown last night for the first time in many years and I looked on Yelp to get some suggestions. We ended up at Plakas and what a great restaurant! Nothing fancy about this place but you get GREAT FOOD at a reasonable price. We really enjoyed the food and we had a great waitress by the name of Dannette. She was very attentive and super polite, just great service. We will come back here again, just a nice experience.

    (5)
  • Erin D.

Been here for both lunch and dinner and left both times stuffed. Great place in the heart of Greektown. I was here recently on Sunday after the marathon, service was great but felt that our waitress was rushing us to get out the door. It really wasn't that busy. Either way, I can definitely say this about Plaka's... Great place to cure a hangover and to get your feta on!

    (4)
  • Christopher C.

I can't believe I just got kicked out of this spot. I sat down with my menu attempting to make up my mind and have a bit of a conversation with some strangers. Because I hadn't made up my mind quick enough, it was assumed that I wouldn't order at all. Maybe, due to all my neon colors (and the fact that I'm black and in Detroit), the older greek fellow assumed I had no money. Sad to think like that on his account and mine. That's where I'm going on the account that he feels as if he went there first. You know what?! Imma leave a tip with the SERVER on straight GP. Dueces!

This was my first visit to the D and i'm glad we stopped here I mean gyros for breakfast!!!!! Service was fast and professional!! The best Greek Town has to Offer

Theirs a older woman that works here I think she's the owner wife or manager, but whoever she is this bitch attitude is jacked up and she has a smart ass mouth....stay away from this place !

  • George P.

I used to come to Greektown with a couple of friends in the early 80's just to get a Gyro and some Baklava. Plaka's is still great! a great diner vice a restaurant feel. great Saganaki! This is a great place for an inexpensive meal at any time of day as they are open 24-hours! Sláinte!

    (4)
  • Cheryl R.

Good food at a fair price. The restaurant is clean. I had the gyros and my son had chicken shish kebob. Good portions for the price. Service was attentive. I'll be back.

    (4)
  • Mark G.

This place has an all around solid menu ranging from breakfast, Greek favorites and your typical American burger fare. The staff is super nice, the food is cheap as well as being fairly good as well. This spot also stands out because its open 24hours and serves breakfast 24hours as well so you can't go wrong there. This place served us well during DEMF and a lot of party people that were there seem to agree as well. See you soon Plaka's!

    (4)
  • Sophia G.

Always busy. One of the only restaurants I know that is open late in Greektown. The food isn't that great but you definitely meet the most interesting people there. Parking is difficult since so many people are trying to get to the casino right across from the restaurant.

After a night (or weekend) of partying on my 27th birthday, this little vegetarian wants some carbs! Planka's does not fail in that department! My comrades and I rolled out of bed at the GreekTown Casino Hotel and shivered as we walked to this greasy spoon. Get this. They serve Bloody Mary's in the morning. My liver would have jumped out of my digestive system and bitch slapped me if I ordered that after the abuse I put her through the last couple of nights so, I stuck with the french toast. As I was waiting, I saw a dude next to me order pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. I felt like the geek that just found out the iPhone 4s came out the day after his return policy for his regular iPhone 4 ran out. In other words, I was jealous and amazed for these pancakes looked amazing! When our food came, I found the french toast to be delicious with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The hash browns sort of tasted like mashed potatoes and I have no clue what was up with that. The service was quick and the waitress was friendly and offered coffee refills promptly. Go to this place if you have the late night munches and for goodness sake have some strawberry pancakes! If not for you, then for me!

I decided to try this place for breakfast after looking at other reviews on Yelp. The place was nothing fancy as previously described. My Omelette came quickly and was very good. The service was very good and personable. I also thought the price I paid was a good value.

I second DeAndre M. There's an ugly woman here. Plain and simple racist!!! That's why this city is broke and I'm to even from Detroit. Your food tastes like shit anyways.

    (1)
  • Lori K.

Nothing special here. Plus if you get appetizers and beer you are walking out the door with at $50+ meal...I would suggest elsewhere. We were with a group and noone was "wowed". That is a shame. We had gyro's, flaming pizza (hell no this was terrible), jalepeno poppers, fries. No No No..

  • Kevin J.

Best late night grub and after-bar people watching in Detroit. I like it even better since the old man who used to viciously harangue the waitresses retired. (Though his creepy visage still haunts the mural splashed across all their walls.) The jumbo breakfast and greek omelette are top-notch and they make a mean bacon cheeseburger, too. I like the rice pudding if I have any room for dessert. The food comes out amazingly quick for how slammed they sometimes are, too. Getting sat on the weekends, that's another story. They sometimes have a line winding out onto the sidewalk with a big black dude dressed all in black clothes that have "security" written in big white letters on the front and back manning the front door. It's like the place is a damn club or something. When things are that hairy I hightail it outta there. I love Plaka, but I'm not going to wait in line to be sat there. Service is usually pretty spot-on. Now and then there's a waitress that's bunk, but they don't seem to last too long - even without the mean old man around to tear into them. The Saganaki is pretty good, and fun, but avoid the flaming pizza. It sucks. Hail, Plaka! I've probably eaten there hundreds of times.

  • Christopher P.

I took a good friend here a couple weeks ago one evening before the Tigers game. Their service was extremely friendly, with 2 separate managers coming by to check on us. My date ordered the stuffed grape leaves; I had the the moussaka. Both were very tasty, and I brought home enough food for another meal the next day. The saganaki isn't quite as good as Pegasus'. However, everything else was on par, for a few dollars less I'd say. I will be going back in the future.

  • Quinten C.

You can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner 24 hrs 7 days a week. Food ain't bad either. I like the coney dogs. This place is great late night and everyting is closed especially after partying.

  • Sandra B.

I love coming to this place after bar nights - especially in my days at Wayne State. It is located in the heart of Greektown - this place is good for early morning/late night meals. I like the spinach pie. If you find yourself partying in downtown Detroit or gambling late at night, this is a good place to grab a bite.

  • Jeffrey P.

Reasons to love the Plaka Cafe (it's not "Plaka Coney Island", despite the title): 1) Open 24 hours 2) The very best saganaki available in Greektown (I've had them all) 3) Friendly, quick service 4) Wonderful omelettes and hash browns 5) French vanilla cappuccino like what comes out of those motorized machines in gas stations with the electronic button (you know, the really creamy rich tasty kind) 6) Wonderful location I love coming here and make it a point to stop in at least once every single time I'm back in Detroit. I used to live a block away and I still miss it regularly.

Wow. The quintessential late night dive diner in Greek Town. This place is the best after closing down Old Shillelagh. Ive never had a bad meal here - granted every meal I ever had came after 2am - still - its delicious diner food.

  • Parisa K.

Plaka's is one of the cheaper places to eat in Greektown. The food is not the highest quality, but it's definitely still pretty good. Plaka's is a good option for when you want to go Greek but cheap, or if you are looking for some good, late-night eating. You get good service, the place is rarely empty, and you'll almost always leave happy (this year after DEMF one night we went there, and I wanted soup, but they had run out... and unfortunately soup was the only thing I was in the mood for).

    (3)
  • Misi P.

Post St. Andrews, where d'ya go? Plaka of course. Traditional afterhours offerings - pancakes, sandwiches, gyros, etc. It's almost always super crowded around 2:30 am though. Food is average - nothing to write home about, but it's 2:30 am and you've got on 3 inch-Timberland stilettos. Sit yer butt down and have a pita.

    (4)
  • Eric W.

I probably wouldn't go there if I didn't live down the street. They have messed my stomach up many times. But when it's 4am and I'm starving I gamble at plaka.

straight up: great service, great food, great prices, open 24 hours! highly recommended!!!

I end up at Plaka every year during the detroit electronic music festival just 'cause it's one of the few nearby places that's open 24 hours. The food was okay... omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches, etc. They did have vegetarian options.

We used to frequent Plaka's after late-night clubbing. It was one of the only places open, and thank God for that. I can only go to Lafayette Coney so much before I'm sick of it! But that's not the only reason I say so. I was always very pleased with the food here. They have an awesome breakfast, as well as a respectable Greek menu (this is Greektown, of course). I'd suggest getting the breakfast anytime, since I've never once had a problem with it taste wise or portion wise. I always left Plaka's full and happy! I can't say that about all Greektown restaurants... I think the late night staff liked to have fun with us, because they'd give us a hard time (jokingly) about what we were wearing or anything they could nit pick. It really made me feel comfortable there. Plaka's doesn't get nearly as crowded as Pizzapapalis or Hella's. I liked this the most, I think. The fact that I didn't have to wait in line or shout across the table at the people I was with also added to the comfort level mentioned above. Plaka's also won't break the bank. A cheap breakfast, lunch, or dinner is always the way to go!

strawberry cheese cake, salads, chili hamburgers, kabobs, and so much more!! feeding a group of 10+ youth and adults worked just right. The service was attentive, and friendly. the food was good and filling. Nothing completely fabulous, and nothing nauseous or unfulfilling...it is what it is..

This is a nice little Greek place, open all night, with good service, decent food and clean bathrooms. There's a lot of food in your order, so be prepared to take some home.

Food was served fast but cold the only thing hot was the eggs i would rather wait for fresh hot food then get food thats already sitting there not even warmed up!!

Nothing special nor bad about this place. Good food at food prices with quick service. Ordered a gyro and it was very good. Have been here many times in the past and this experience was right in line with the others. If near greektown and need a quick bite this place will more than satisfy.

Dueces!

I used to come to Greektown with a couple of friends in the early 80's just to get a Gyro and some Baklava. Plaka's is still great! a great diner vice a restaurant feel. great Saganaki! This is a great place for an inexpensive meal at any time of day as they are open 24-hours! Sláinte!

One member of staff absolutely floored us with her rude uncalled for comments. We walked out. I feel bad for our waitress, she was not the problem and would have gotten a fat tip from our party of 10+. To many places to go to without the attitude.

  • Cherice J.

I love coming to this place after bar nights - especially in my days at Wayne State. It is located in the heart of Greektown - this place is good for early morning/late night meals. I like the spinach pie. If you find yourself partying in downtown Detroit or gambling late at night, this is a good place to grab a bite.

Always busy. One of the only restaurants I know that is open late in Greektown. The food isn't that great but you definitely meet the most interesting people there. Parking is difficult since so many people are trying to get to the casino right across from the restaurant.

I end up at Plaka every year during the detroit electronic music festival just 'cause it's one of the few nearby places that's open 24 hours. The food was okay... omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches, etc. They did have vegetarian options.

Good food at a fair price. The restaurant is clean. I had the gyros and my son had chicken shish kebob. Good portions for the price. Service was attentive. I'll be back.

No No No..
