I wish I could give this place 3 and a half stars, but since I can't, I'll throw them the full 4. The food here is great! I've really never had a bad meal, but the chicken caeser salad is absolutely my favorite. And, really, all their salads are amazingly good. Burgers, corned beef sandwiches, etc. Haven' tried anything I'd really disliked. Also, the employees are all usually very friendly and really try to get to know their regulars. So on to the negatives. Service can be on the slower side during lunch time so I recommend calling ahead if you're going to do take out. (Though sometimes calling ahead doesn't seem to matter.) Sometimes they have trouble with the credit card machine and will only take cash, forcing you to make an impromptu run to an ATM if you're unprepared. And lastly, they tend to make some careless mistakes during busy times like giving you the wrong salad dressing, etc. Just make sure you check your order before you leave. All in all, the food is good and the people are friendly. The odd bad day does get annoying, but for the most part, I love getting lunch here.

I left after waiting for a menu about 15 minutes even though the waitress made eye contact with me but continued to speak with some long lost friends. I got up and left but not before letting someone at the carry out window know what happened and which employee it was.....I'm straight on nonis

My food was delicious. It was quite a long wait...but it was Saturday morning so that may explain it. We came for breakfast and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Were it not for the long wait (after we ordered), I would have given the restaurant 4/5 stars!

Took my Sis, who is VERY critical on restaurant food quality & service, for brunch last Sunday before church let out. We both had omelettes with a pecan pancake (had to!), & everything was exceptional!! Our server was attentive & we weren't hurried when patrons quickly swelled to capacity with the after church crowd. We talked for another 1/2hr over tea about everything...Had a great time!

I had the Noni combo corned beef and coleslaw sandwich... Absolutely awful cheap lunch meat from grocery store. Waitress was weak and forgetful.

Service can be strange. Maybe we're a family of fast eaters, but it takes quite a bit of time for them to bring the cheque. Sometimes I've had to ask, because people keep "checking on us" well after our plates have been taken away. But that is seriously the only issue. This isn't a plain old corner coney, they have food! Their breakfast is the main draw for us. I'm not sure what they're doing differently with their pancakes, but they put IHOP to shame. TO SHAME! They can do an omelet right (why are they *greasy* at some other restaurants?!,) I love their french toast, they have delicious curly fries... I could go on and on! Another favorite is the hot turkey sandwich, which is like a mini-thanksgiving, especially with the generous portion sizes. Give this place a try!

I have visited after the remodel. I passed here often, but didn't pay it any attention because it was just another coney island. However after going with a friend for lunch, I like it. The decor is warm and welcoming. I ordered a Michigan Salad that came with fresh fruit and diced up, moist chicken breasts. I enjoyed the raspberry vinaigrette dressing the most. It was creamy and added flavor to the salad. A full entree salad and 2 sides (or a pop) will run you about $12 with tax. It wasn't a bad price for a meal. On another occasion I've had the Philly Cheese steak Pita and that is the best thing so far. It was loaded to the brim with tender steak and diced peppers. The cheese melted on top completed the sandwich and it was enough meat to feed two people. I was full and happy after that sandwich. I also tried the lemon chicken rice which was not a repeat for me. It was lemony, full of perfectly cooked rice and had bits of chicken in it. I just personally learned that I don't care for chicken lemon rice soup. Overall I would go back to Noni's Sherwood Grill. If you go for carry out check out the wall of the history and giving to the community. It was a pretty interesting read.

Stopped in for breakfast and lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was nice and, courteous. Although the place was busy on both occasions, the service was prompt, outstanding and the food was delicious and inexpensive.

I have been going here for about 3 years, and I like it. I do notice a difference between the renovated restaurant and the Sherwood Coney Island that it used to be called. It looks better, and some of the dishes are better, and some have declined. The prices are higher than when it was just Sherwood Coney, but it is because the facilities are better and plus some of the dishes are, too, so that is what you are paying for. There are some new dishes, too. Over all, I think it is a decent place to eat. The service is ok to me.

I ordered the strip steak dinner and the spinach pie dinner. The "medium" steak was dry, overcooked, tougher than leather. They forgot the rice that came with the spinach pie. When I went back to complain, they gave some rice with spaghetti sauce on it, not the red sauce that the Greek restaurants top the rice with. The salad and dressing was not good, with cheap no-brand ranch. Once I ordered a loose burger and it had a bad taste, like way too much cumin and anise. I wouldn't go back unless I was desperate for a Coney in the middle of the night. Too bad, another Detroit restaurant with inferior food quality in comparison to the suburbs.

I have now been to this place on 4 different occasions. I have only ordered breakfast, so that is what this review is. I was there at varying times ranging from 10am to 1pm. My issue is not with the food, cuz when it's right, it's very good. You can tell the eggs are real, the sausage is cooked to perfection, and the waffle has a good flavor. My issue is with the service. I have experienced 3 different servers, and with the exception of one (light skin, short hair) the service is no good. It took too long to take our order, then after the order was taken, it took so long to get our food, it was room temp at best. The waffle was done to perfection, but wasn't able to melt the butter so i sent it back. It took a while to get that one, and when i did, it was a bit overdone and still not hot. Once you get your food, pray you don't need anythings else, cuz you won't see the server again until time to give you your bill.
