This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to in my life with the most hood rat employees in the city of Detroit. Horrible!! They always get the order wrong, and get mad at you if you say something. This must be where bad customer service is taught.

To sum it all up: Slow Turtle service. Doesn't matter what time of the day it is (well, they turn into molasses during lunch time). Honestly, I try to avoid this place, and try to find somewhere healthier and has a understanding/preparation of what a "lunch rush" is. Always check your items. I can guarantee you that you have a 50/50 chance of receiving the correct order.

On West Grand Blvd and the Lodge Freeway service drive - this is a convenient location for those in the midtown area. unfortunantly they're not even aware of how poor their service is usually. the drive through is the best bet for this location. but check your order before you drive off and count your change. they make mistakes on the simplist things like ask for your fish with No Tarter Sauce - and you'll get tarter sauce. The employees here are more concerned with their friends who are always at the counter, than the people who are trying to get their "FastFood". Even the management seems to be overwhelmed always. I keep it very simple when going here - like a soda and a salad or a pie. nothing they have to make or it's bound to involve more than you came for.

07/14/13 It's not easy keeping the title of Worst McDonald's Anywhere, so I'm updating my review. They need to film this place and put it on TV. Forget Jersey Shore. This place is the perfect allegory for everything that's wrong with Detroit. You don't even have to go inside. There's a sign outside that tells it all. It's a fluorescent sign posted on the driveway on the way out. It used to say Mickey D's, that's what black people call it so they got hip and hopped on board with the people who are giving them all their money, but the TRTL graf guy tagged it so they changed it to a red and yellow THANK YOU. What's special about this sign is that the post rusted out and it fell to the ground. Maybe a car hit and helped things along, I don't know, but it landed in the landscaping. Hey, things happen, only this thing happened a year ago, maybe two years, I'm not running the clock on it, and it's still laying there on the wood chips. Someone is keeping the weeds out, they're doing that much, so how can they just leave the busted up sign there right on the street for years? Oh, right, it's Detroit. I forget sometimes. Sometimes i walk down there before my afternoon shift if the cafeteria sucks (that place needs some reviews of it's own: barbecue sauce on any imaginable leftover does not make an entree). You've got the typical Sunday church crowd, only they can't get it together and get the food out. People demand their money back and leave in droves. The kitchen can't get the food out, the front people are mad and they start getting snippy with each other, not that the front people have it much more together. You better have at least forty minutes to receive a simple order, and another five to wolf it down. I asked if there's a manager. Yeah, she was back there chatting up the kitchen crew. Like they need distractions. There's this one guy who is always in there. I think his name is Robert. He's got something wrong with him, like a developmental delay. He greets everybody, asks them what church they go to, but he gets real huggy and feely. Please, dude don't touch me. I know he's just being friendly, but someone is going to bust him one. It's Detroit. And he starts talking at you and won't shut up. Please, F'er, I waited forever for this lousy McDouble and I can't deal with you. Shut up already. He was funny one day. he got on his cell and was talking about how it was his birthday and he wanted a T-shirt. I learned everything about him. His age. Where he lives. He kept whoever it was on the phone forever, talking about his birthday t-shirt. Can you deliver it? The last thing he shared was that he didn't have any money. Yeah, waste someone's time and finish with "I don't have any money". Robert is Detroit. So I went there today, but later. Sunday evening. There was nothing going on but the drive-thru. I wondered if they were open, but the door was unlocked. One dude, customer?, whatever was hanging by the counter. I walked up. Nobody greeted me. The drive-thru people saw me, but nothing. I finally asked if anybody was working the counter. They found a girl who was back behind the drive-thru area. She came out and leaned on the register and looked at me. i looked back. I was waiting for her to ask me what I wanted. I waited a long time, then finally asked her if she could talk. She shook her head "no". Cripes, now I felt bad. I was treating her like a retard and she was a deaf-mute. I asked if she read lips and she nodded "yes". I gave her my coupon, got the order across, waited forever for my order and waited forevermore because once my burger was ready they had to get fries out of the stockroom and drop them. Really. All while they told other people they were out of everything: no ice cream, no shakes, no apple pies...they're always out of all that stuff. So while this was going on, there was this man who had begged 12 cents off me for a coffee. I thought that $0.12 would make him flush, who just asks for 12 cents?, but then he hit up another guy for a nickel. Nickel guy said we'll see after he ordered, but they couldn't sell him a shake so he gave up the $0.05 and left. So coffee guy laid all his pennies out and deaf-mute girl was trying to tell him he was 6 cents short. She didn't get through with all her pantomime, and she finally said "six cents! you need another six cents!". She could talk. She talked just fine. She was just gaming everybody. Here I was thinking good for McDonalds for hiring a deaf-mute, putting her up front, but she was just screwing with everybody. or at least screwing with me. What kind of business tolerates this? Oh, yeah, I forgot. A Detroit business. I had to delete my previous review to make room for this update. Apparently there's a 500 character limit. There's not enough space to describe this place. Maybe I need to start a blog about it.

I used to get carry out orders from this location, but as everyone else has already stated, the service is horrible and I got tired of being hit up by beggars every time I walked in the door. I decided it wasn't worth it anymore. It's too bad, because it's a prime location with a lot of businesses around it and a need for good service. I'm not sure what's going on there now, but it looks like the place is closed. I haven't seen any life around for almost a week and the driveways are blocked with their parking lot trash cans. The only thing in the parking lot is a portable storage unit and a port-a-potty.

I saw other 2 star reviews and wondered how any McDonald's location could be different than others. Well, this location earned its low rating. Among other issues, including the location being out of English muffins, my bagel breakfast sandwich was bad. There was, what looked like green mayo all over it. Additionally, the bottom have was either very stale or just slightly not frozen as it was hard as a rock. I didn't attempt a bite and it went to the trash. Like McDonald's or not, one thing they strive for is consistency between locations. This location failed.

This place is ridiculous. It is a brand new facility, with absolutely the worst service and management I have ever come across. Litterally, the last 5 times I have stopped here around 6 am, the only thing they could tell me was that the system was down and they were not serving anything. Before that it was they couldn't find the eggs. Another time, I ordered 2 hash browns, and it took 20 minutes. The girl at the window had walked away for a while, came back and said, you still here? Whoever is running the show should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Kevin J.

Dirty, slow and swamped with beggars. Yup, that about sums it up. The last time I was here some guy with big, white crumbs all over his lips asked me for money while I was in line. I only go here for breakfast, after I've been up all night and need some food in my belly to crash. Don't know why that craving for a Sausage McMuffin with egg and hashbrowns draws me to this pit; I really shouldn't be eating at McDonald's. Even if it's a nice one, which this McDonald's is certainly not.
