I generally don't have high expectations of airport food but I was not impressed here at all. To start, the waitress was slow to take my order and was not knowledgeable about the beer selection. I ordered pretzel sticks as an appetizer which were good, but they took longer to come out than the entrees of the table next to me who ordered after I did. For the entree I ordered the sizzling chicken fajita which was not sizzling when it was served, and the chicken was flavorless did not taste like it was freshly cooked. I'd say wait a few minutes for a seat at another restaurant if you have the time!

While the hostess, Hillarie, was pretty cute with her stretched ears and large neck rose tattoo, her overly bitter attitude towards working at such a fine airport burgery was what caught my attention most. It might have been the exasperated response to our asking for a table, or the whimsical way she just tapped her finger on the empty table as she ignored us and walked onward, but we came in feeling unwelcome. At least our server was nice and speedy. As far as the food is concerned, they advertise "hand squished" patties. They apparently do this so that you can't tell that the patties are frozen. Not only was mine not "squished" , but was wildly under cooked and just sorta meh.

Had lunch here today during a layover. The chips and guacamole were stale, the guacamole was so bland. I had the Ragin Cajun burger, asked for well done and it was really pink. The servers were standing at the front complaining about somebody while we all listened. I know it's just airport food, but come on, have a little pride in what you serve and how you serve it.

After eating here I thought I should had just gone to Wendy's. Everything was overall bland. Ordered the garbage burger, and even with all its ingredients, it was rather flavorless. The fries here sucked too.

  • Maestro L.

Horrible flavorless burger, asked for medium rare got overcooked beef, no flavor on this thing. Very dry just like the bun which fell apart while eating. Don't eat here $14 for nothing

Decent burgers and great service during a layover in Detroit. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable meal during a layover.

On the long walk to my gate, I decided to stop for some breakfast. Oh well, the meal was sufficient to sustain human life, it was not exactly edible. Well, I ate it, but there were better choices in the airport. I ordered a western omelet of sorts and the hardened cheese from the microwave or toaster oven made eating it a challenge. The butter knife they supplied really wasn't up to the task, but I managed to slash my way through the prefabricated simulated omelet. The potatoes also were rewarmed and they had once been fried. The coffee wasn't bad... As I said, there were better choices at the airport.

These guys are awful. Worst customer service. We sat down and ordered on a Friday night at 8:30... They took our order and 30 minutes later came back and asked what we ordered. Since we were tight on time, I asked for they check. They charged me for a drink and I asked to speak to the manager. He wouldn't cover the drink after complaining about the awful service and forgetting our order. The staff and manager looked sloppy, the tables were dirty, and they staff could care less. Avoid this place.

It was the only place in by my gate with a bar stool open so I thought I'd check it out. I feel positive towards 99 and O'Charley's so I thought I'd feel the same way about another restaurant in their chain. I just wasn't feeling it. I was absolutely exhausted and that could have had a little to do with it, but just on a very topical level I didn't care for it. Staff was nice enough at the bar but the servers kept walking out of the kitchen with their mouths full of food, chomping away. I got the nachos which came out and the cheese wasn't very well melted, sent back for a reheat, came back the same. However, everything on the nachos was very fresh and the chili was a good temp. I like my chili sweeter, but this tasted like every other chili that chains have. It was a pretty big sporting event night and the TV's are disproportional to the size of the restaurant/bar and poor quality so it was hard to see. Overall I probably would look for a different restaurant next time through Detroit, but I would never say an adamant no to going there again.

Kinda rude but maybe just a bad server? we had dinner here on a layover in detroit. we were first sat by our server who was rude form the get go. he was prompt to take our order but took forever to bring out our water. keep in mind we were waiting on a plane. when our food finally cam we had ordered fish and chips. the fries were staled but hot? the fish was still cold in the middle and it took over 10 minutes to just find him and get his attention. when we finally caught a glimps of him we saw him playing on his cell phone. needless to say we finally asked him to get our bill but that took him over 10 minutes we had to wave down 2 different servers so that we can get our check to catch our plan... not coming back here bad food poor service..

  • Tamara K.

Pricier than normal but it's in the airport and the quality of the food is pretty good. Grey burgers. Huge salads. Decent service but not too fast so if you have limited time before a flight I wouldn't choose this place.

    (3)
  • Steve L.

Needed something fast to go at the airport. Liked - Southwest Chicken Salad - fast service - menu choices - chips So so - Guacamole was runny and did not have a true avocado taste

  • Nick R.

Always a reliable place to eat. I really like the chicken sandwich. Staff is friendly and they are fairly quick which is important for an airport location.

    (5)
  • Linda F.

Great burger and waffle fries. Tastes like fresh grilled at home. We were in a hurry and they provided great fast service to go so we could make our flight and have a descent lunch. Also, I like the burger buns they use. Very good experience!

I was surprised with the great service I got here! I guess my usual assumption is that an airport restaurant doesn't really have to worry much about repeat business - waiting at the airport makes the patrons a pretty captive audience. I had almost an hour before my flight at a nearby gate and decided to treat myself to a meal without a child stealing my fries (because I'm a parent who was traveling alone, not because I'm a frequent victim of random street urchins). Anyway, Max & Erma's seemed like a good bet, and had a bar which was another plus. The hostess/waitress promised I'd have my burger as fast as possible, and if it wasn't fast enough she could always box it and I could take it on my flight. And my drink (a double for just $3 more) was out almost immediately. My burger was exactly what I wanted, and out with plenty of time for me to to enjoy it (and another drink) with time to spare before my flight. What really impressed me was listening to how the hostess/waitress was just as friendly and helpful to everyone, whether or not they were eating at her restaurant. A couple people walking through the airport asked her for directions to other restaurants and she was kind and informative to them as well. Next time I'm waiting for a flight, I know the wait will be more pleasant at Max & Erma's with a grown-up meal and drink.

One of my go-tos in DTW service is always good and I love the apple pecan salad with chicken

  • Kristin D.

Don't bother with breakfast here, unless you want to be cranky the rest of the day! Worst bloody Mary ever, only tasted like seasoned salt, and the charge was $10.99! Wait staff was crabby and rude. Much more expensive for breakfast than other airport options; we paid $8 for 3 pancakes with no meat, and you can get all-you-can-eat pancakes just a bit further down the concourse for $3.99. Breakfast for 4 people ran us $51 and change, not including tip.

  • Alex B.

Real metal cutlery. At the airport. Win. The food's only ok, but there's nothing great to eat at the airport anyway.

    (3)
  • Frank M.

Rip off. 50.00 ,for bad cheese burgerrs and lite beer. And wont honor their own coupons. Stay away if your smart,!!

    (1)
  • Craig J.

Ok burger. I got the taco burger which didn't actually have any sort of taco taste to it. It did come with a small dipping container of taco soup, at least.

    (2)
  • Clint C.

Chicken BLTA, probably the best airport sandwich I've ever had.

    (4)
  • Tara W.

The Aunt Patty burger was so juicy and just a tiny bit sweet with the caramelized onions and 1000 Island! Fast service and free wifi.

I was seated and promptly had some of the fastest, most attentive service. The young black woman next to me was not even acknowledged until well after. I had received my first drink and was asked for my order. She had been sitting before I arrived. She had to hail a waiter, who seemed co fused why she hadn't been served yet. After he left, I turned to her and wondered aloud why in gods name they had been so attentive to me, and not yet addressed her. She agreed that something weird was going on, and left. A few minutes later two business travelers were seated a few tables away, one white, one black. After getting drinks, they patiently waited for further service. It would not arrive, even after another business traveler, a couple, and a mother-daughter pair all sat, ordered, and received their food. Eventually the business pair left in quiet dismay. I feel a bit of a naive backwater hick, but this is the first time I have ever witnessed such appauling racism. I'm sad to have been an unwitting patron of this behavior.

    (1)
  • Shane F.

Frozen burger patty that was served like warm at best and horrible service after I was seated. The shining moment was that the hostess did sit me near an electrical outlet so that I could plug in my laptop.

  • Aileen B.

6/21/10 2.5 stars. Surprisingly, the French toast was good! We really liked the texture-- great bite, not too fluffy. The bacon slices were sorry-looking, however. The toast slices you see on the photo were Mom's share (mine were on another plate), but those were the original two slices of bacon, and the dish, after taxes, cost a little over $11, not including the cup of coffee Mom ordered! A bit steep, even for the airport, but we all is forgiven, and Max & Erma's has its pancake batter-dipped French toast to thank! Music accompaniment: Dionne Warwick: The Definitive Collection.

If you've been away from American-style food for 2 weeks, that may be an acceptable reason to eat hear. It's a decent re-acclimation.

    (3)
  • Dave R.

I would call this average airport food. The burger was relatively large, but didn't have any salt or spices to enhance the flavor. There was one slice of a small tomato on a large burger. The fries were hot and fresh. Service was fast.

  • Tim S.

I had a half hour to eat between flights and I stopped here which was a mistake. The food was good, but the service was slow. It took a few minutes before I was seated and by the time my food was brought out I had 5 minutes to eat. I asked the waitress for my check and she said, "Oh, you have a flight?" She hadn't asked and she assumed that I had forever to eat and relax afterwards. I tried to submit a complaint online but I couldn't because it's impossible to read the Captcha that they use to keep robots from submitting complaints and I called the Max and Erma's corporate office 3 hours ago and I haven't heard anything back. Poor service across the board.

    (2)
  • Scott H.

I should have gone to a fast food joint instead, because it would have been same quality and customer service. They have a bar, I should have stopped for drinks instead of breakfast that morning...

Like most, I was in Detroit on a layover and looking for somewhere to grab a quick dinner. I had some time, so I figured that I'd upgrade from the usually quick options of McD, Subway, etc. When I first walked up to Max and Erma's, there was a sign that said "Please wait to be seated". So I stood and waited...and waited...and waited. The bartender, who had seen me the whole time, finally asked if I wanted to sit in the bar. I had my luggage, and I wanted to actually sit and relax a moment, so I said that I didn't. Her smile disappeared after that response, and she told me I could sit wherever I wanted. Ok...so what was the point of the sign? I grabbed a seat in a booth and waited a few more minutes before the waitress came to talk to me. She was a nice gal, friendly and personable. I wish she would have written my order down, though. Kudos to those that can memorize entire orders, but it's not 'that' impressive. And the risk/reward isn't worth it. I acknowledge that I'm a picky eater, so I always like to know that the order is good to go. In fact, it wasn't. The easy one was the drink order; I got a small beer instead of the large that I ordered. I ordered a burger to go with it, asking that it come with jalapenos but not with any sauces or onions. When it came, there was no sauce, but the onion was still there. I also wasn't too happy with the peppers, as they were just thrown on in a pile. Despite having to clean up the burger, it was actually pretty good. The lettuce, tomato, etc was fresh and the meat was nicely done. My last bone to pick, however, is that you get one dinky paper napkin. For a burger joint that actually aims to give you a nice, juicy burger, you'd think they'd give you a napkin worthy of the meal. Nope. But then again, with this place, that seems just about right.

Had breakfast here this morning. The menu was limited, but had the basics for a very fulfilling breakfast. I had the "original breakfast" with sausage, fruit cup, eggs over easy, wheat toast, and potatoes "hash browns", which was very delicious. The eggs were cooked just right and the hash brown potatoes had a nice season and fresh crunchiness. Improvement - the service needs some overhaul. Our waitress was not as customer savvy as expected even though the restaurant was running slow with customers. In my mind that equals a small tip.

    (3)
  • Nate M.

Would have been a 5 star review if it weren't for the bartender Stephanie constantly complaining about how she hates her job today and telling other employees to stay away from the bar or she will get yelled at...and making sny comments about not being able to leave the bar....not a great environment for a pick me up type moment after a flight... If she wouldn't make these comments, she would be excellent...customers don't pay to come hear the drama of their jobs.

Good news is they are trying when it comes to beer by adding two local beers. Of course, one of them was out. Had the the fish tacos and they were awful. Tortillas were rubbery and contents were bland - overlooked fish with globs of unknown sauce and semi -melted cheese. I know it's an airport, but come on.

    (2)
  • Jon V.

Pretty good for an Airport restaurant. You get some big portions for the price you pay. I got the triple play sampler as a meal and I couldn't finish it. The Reuben was fairly large and it was tasty. If you have time to kill and want a decent meal, Max and Ermas is good.

    (3)
  • Jim R.

Had very speedy service during a layover in Detroit and really enjoyed the chicken sandwich with basil pesto.

  • Sunny D.

I'm a big time breakfast fan and pride myself on making great breakfasts for my family. So not wanting to go to some fast food place, we choose Max and Ermas for breakfast during our layover. The waitress was friendly and quick. The french toast was dry and boring. Not much flavor to the egg dip, even the syrup couldn't help make this better. At least the bacon was crispy and not overly greasy. The coffee was okay, nothing special. For the price I'd go to McDonald's next time.

    (3)
  • Nica T.

the service is what stayed fresh in my mind. Good server, great attitude, and didn't mess up the order. Great service, the beer was cold (sam adams), and the food was ok. I would eat here again EDIT: went there again after july 4th, great service again. avoid the black bean tacos, they kind of sucked.

    (4)
  • Louis M.

Good burger and shake. It's a good option at the airport if you want a good fast food meal, but the service was disappointing and did not make it a quick meal.

    (3)
  • Sarah M.

The service was quick during my lay over. The Tortilla soup was great, but I had a chicken sandwich that was quite bland and dry. I'd stick with a burger next time.

    (3)
  • Glenn H.

After a long flight, it was good to find Max and Ermas at the Detroit airport. It certainly sounded better than "Slap-shot Bar and Grill" and turned out to be a nice break from a standard fast food airport joint. Their Reuben was near-perfect and generously filled with corned beef with a large pile of seasoned natural skinned fries. My waitress, Grace, nailed that 5th star with her charm an honest chit chat about loving San Francisco and all so of course I had to give her kudos for having good taste.

    (5)
  • D C.

Good airport food. Had the tortilla soup and a Reuben sandwich. Not the best, but far from the worst! This is my second visit, and I recommend it to anyone already at the "A" Concourse, but probably not worth the trip from "B.". ;)

    (3)
  • Jason M.

The food here wasn't bad but the service was BAD!!! You'd think they would be pushing things along for 1) To turn the tables over because it's a busy airport 2) people in airports don't have a million years to wait around. We were pretty much ignored most of the time. The manager was kind of incompetent, bespectacled, putz.

    (2)
  • Victor T.

    Gotta have garbage burger

    (4)
  • A. T.

Better than any of the other fine dining options at Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport, I'll give them that. The fried chicken is dry. But at least you can't go wrong with a burger here.

    (3)
  • Joe C.

Was hungry and there weren't many other wide variety restaurant options in this terminal so we choose this max and ermas. I got the classic chicken parmesan. It came out with over cooked noodles, a hard crusty deep fried chicken breast and watery marinara sauce. My girlfriend ordered a black bean burger which was completely freezer burnt and nearly inedible. All this with two beers cost nearly $50. Definitely wouldn't recommend. McDonald's is probably a better option.

    (1)
  • Greg D.

There was no service the staff sat me at a table and I waited for 30 minutes before I had to ask for some service. Then waited another 15 for a glass of water. I didn't get to eat because my flight was boarding.

    (1)
  • Travis S.

The prices are higher than your average. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for 17.00. One might ask why is the price so high.....well the waitress never gave me my change. The worst was yet to come my food was brick cold with average taste. I had no eating utensils. Next time I rather go to McDonald's.....

    (2)
  • R M.

Poor Management. Food was good, tortilla soup was excellent. Staff was friendly an attentive. Here is the poor management part, which is no fault of the staff.....1.EVERY employees shirt was warned, stained and dirty. 2. There was no receptionist and wait staff was having to seat guests. 3. No bussers, the wait staff was having to clear and clean tables. 4. Employees were heard arguing in the kitchen/back bar area. Plain and simple the management is non existent This Resturant needs a leader.

  • Helen Z.

When craving a burger between flights, I came across max and ermas. $11 to $14 a burger, this place isn't cheap but as their saying implied, the belly guides the mind. The waitress was very friendly and reassured me there was enough time to sit down and dine. I ordered the chipotle black bean burger with a side of baby greens. Within 10 minutes, I was brought a huge and delicious-looking burger topped with guacamole and salsa. The bun and the black bean burger were both great and definitely hit the spot. The side salad too was impressive and the vinaigrette dressing and sundried tomatoes added a nice touch. The only thing I was disappointed by was the guacamole - it lacked flavor on its own. All in all, a good dinner albeit a little pricey.

  • Greg F.

Max and Ermas has always had a special place in my heart due to the chicken tortilla soup and tasty burgers. I had some extra time to kill at the airport before my flight, was a little hungry, so I stopped in here as it was next to my terminal. I was promptly seated and had my order taken. The girls working here were very nice and my food arrived in a timely manner. The burger was huge, juicy and delicious. If you are near this terminal I highly recommend stopping in.

  • John M.

Food was pretty good. I am giving four stars because I had great service from Rachel. Its rare to have a server that really keeps an eye on all of her tables and has the energy to keep them all happy but she did it.

  • Marjorie K.

I think this place would be great any other place then a busy airport. I have been here twice now and the food and service have been average. I have been lucky enough to have a long enough layover to wait for a table and be served. BUT, at the same time I understand the reason for all the bad reviews. This place is in a BUSY section of the airport and it is the only place that resembles editable food within a mile walking distance. It doesn't matter if this place had negative stars, it is going to be booked all day, everyday where it is situated at. So what did I eat? The first visit I had a tortilla burger, it was identified as famous on the menu. I wouldn't describe it as famous or memorable. It was okay, a little greasy, it satisfied my dinner craving. My second visit I made the mistake of flying into Detroit without a coat and had a bowl of tortilla soup (also identified as famous). The soup was better then the burger. It's actually a recipe worthy of trying to replicate. If I flew into Detroit on a cold day again, I'de stop by for the soup. I've I was given any other decent choice of food in the airport I would choose it.

Avoid this restaurant at all costs! I stopped in here on a layover in Detroit. While we were being seated the gentleman at the table next to us was shouting because he had waited so long to get his food, and his check, and then couldn't find anybody to run his card. We shrugged it off as a crabby traveler. Our server came and took our order, I ordered the black bean burger, and my dinner partner ordered a hamburger. It took 25 minutes for them to bring our orders... And when they did the food was ice cold. I mentioned this to my server- and she actually got mad at me and had to bring the manager over so she could "prove" my sandwich was cold. Do not, I repeat, do not go here.

I have never before seen such inattentive bartenders at a nearly empty bar. After placing a drink and appetizer order and being ignored for the next 15 minutes while the waitresses and bartenders texted and chatted, I flagged a bartender down for my food order. I was rudely told neither of my choices were available. I told them to cancel my appetizer (chips & guac which should take 30 seconds not 15 minutes). The bartender said she would have to charge me for it, despite not even receiving it yet. I told them if they did I would just dispute the charge. The manager came over and talked some sense into the bartenders. This is not how anyone should run a bar and restaurant.

  • Dan M.

Lazy food, lazy service. More than half the plates going back full of food. Disgruntled patrons all around. This place should close down and let a restaurant fill this space. It looks charming for an airport place but don't do it. Waterworks is just down the hall.

    (1)
  • Brian J.

I always enjoy the food at M&E. The garbage burger has always been one of my favorite burgers of all time. The fries are always good and fresh. For a airport restaurant it is a good stop if you have time.

    (4)
  • John S.

Stopped here for breakfast. The places seats over 100. The chairs, tables and benches are comfortable. The service is good - good coverage with enthusiastic servers. I had the breakfast plate - came with a couple eggs, toast, hash browns, sausage. It was all I expected it to be. Tasty and not a bad price. The coffee, not great. Might get one outside next time. I highly recommend this place!!

    (4)
  • Heather D.

The service is good but the food is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. My chicken breast on the salad was like a dried up hockey puck. The lettuce tomato and onion were old and wilted and blue cheese crumbles looked questionable. I sent it back and will head down to PF Changs.

    (2)
  • Samantha L.

Had the TMC - Tomato Mozzarella Chicken sandwich, which comes with grilled chicken breast, layered with mozzarella, fresh basil & oven roasted tomatoes on a toasted ciabatta bread with tomato basil spread. It comes with baby green salad.... Sounds delicious right? Thats what I thought too. The dish overall was good/okay. I would tell whoever made my sandwich to hold off on so much spread. It made my sandwich a little soggy and messy to eat. The service was poor, I felt the server rushed my order instead taking the time to talk to me. I know eating at the airport, I won't get outstanding service, but that is not a reason for the lack of customer service either.

    (4)
  • Keith H.

I would imagine one shouldn't expect too much from an airport burger place but even with that being said, I was completely disappointed. I had the soft pretzel sticks with queso. Should be easy enough but when they arrived, they were still frozen on the inside. I followed with the garbage burger and was aptly named. It arrived cold and the meat had no flavor. The avocado on top also lacked flavor. The seasoned French fries had a light dusting of salt and pepper that begged to have more added. Service was very slow for this type of restaurant. Don't come here in a hurry. To sum it up, move on the the next place.

    (2)
  • Alyssa M.

Is had french toast. Nothing glamorous. The fruit cup was hilarious. It was a cup the size of a ketchup cup... and consisted of three slices of mandarin oranges. Kind of an insulting joke. Prices were reasonable. Service was good.

    (3)
  • James B.

I don't have high expectations for an airport joint, but this was sad. I sat at the bar for 15 minutes before getting up to leave, then the bartender asks. "Did you want something?". After getting my beer I proceeded to listen to a group of servers stand in front of me and gripe about how much they hate everyone they work with. Ordered a sandwich, it was ok, but the server was rearranging my fries as she carried it to me. Not the most sanitary. And finally, if you are a bartender, know the difference between a lager and an ale.

    (2)
  • Adrian B.

Not really QUALITY at all. Fresh burgers? Totally tasted frozen. Hand formed? Looked like it was peeled off of a block. Asked for medium. No way this would ever come out pink... Which it wasn't. The Aunt Patty was supposed to have caramelized onions. Last time I checked they weren't red still when caramelized. At least the bartender was nice.

    (2)
  • Jeanne G.

Quick service and I didn't feel like the prices were airport gouging. My order came as I liked it. Just like any non-airport Max & Erma's!

    (3)
  • Seek L.

Terrible service, rude staff and gross food. Their chicken is like microwaved precooked chicken and it takes forever to get your food. We complained to a manager and he said well that's how it goes sometimes and walked off. If you can't handle the influx of travelers at a restaurant location then you shouldn't serve food there in my opinion.

    (1)
  • Katarina M.

I'm sure the vast majority of the food is terrible, but what I ordered (with the help of my fellow yelpers) was completely edible and I'd even say somewhat enjoyable. Got the chicken tortilla soup and a black bean burger. Don't eat the guacamole that comes with the burger....tasted like chemicals. Was definitely not fresh - must have come out of a bag and should have never been put on my plate. But the soup and black bean burger were just fine! Service was fine too.

    (3)
  • Melissa M.

Agree on the typical airport fare comments... The burgers do seem as though they are hand smashed or whatever they call them, but mine was overcooked. I don't know who my waitress was - there were 3 different servers at my table. Condiments were forgotten and some food came out before the app. Not the worst ever but didn't even seem like they were trying. Thumbs down.

    (2)
  • Trevor T.

I traveling and I have some time to relax and eat lunch for once in my airport journeys. I decided to eat at Max anD Erma's because they are known for their burgers and they had a turkey burger on the menu. The atmosphere is the typical open bar setting at the airport. The TVs are strategically placed in the restaurant without being intrusive. The serve was good and efficient. The the Turkey Burger was really good. I was extremely surprised at the taste and freshness of the burger. It is not what I expected. On my next layover in Detroit, I will definitely eat here again.

Instant diarrhea - just what you want before you fly. Oh, and pretty slow service too.

This is good for being in an airport. The food is good, to pricey as is all airport food.

I was hungry. The hubby was hungry. We stopped. We ate. I only ate it because I was starving. I had a Reuben Sammy and fries. Hubby had a burger and fries. My Reuben was bland. I know, you say how can a Reuben be bland? I mean it has sauerkraut, cheese, pastrami, etc? Well it was. It was the worst tasting Reuben sandwich I have ever eaten. The fries were soggy. My hubby put ketchup on his fries because they were that soggy. You know the fries are bad when hubby puts ketchup on them, because he doesn't normally eat ketchup on his fries. He had to cover them up. The restaurant itself appeared dirty. The floors were filthy, the menus were even dirty and sticky, the table was sticky. If you are in the Detroit airport and are hungry do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I should have gone to a fast food joint instead, because it would have been same quality and customer service. They have a bar, I should have stopped for drinks instead of breakfast that morning...

For the price I'd go to McDonald's next time.

the service is what stayed fresh in my mind. Good server, great attitude, and didn't mess up the order. Great service, the beer was cold (sam adams), and the food was ok. I would eat here again EDIT: went there again after july 4th, great service again. avoid the black bean tacos, they kind of sucked.

Good burger and shake. It's a good option at the airport if you want a good fast food meal, but the service was disappointing and did not make it a quick meal.

The service was quick during my lay over. The Tortilla soup was great, but I had a chicken sandwich that was quite bland and dry. I'd stick with a burger next time.

Good airport food. Had the tortilla soup and a Reuben sandwich. Not the best, but far from the worst! This is my second visit, and I recommend it to anyone already at the "A" Concourse, but probably not worth the trip from "B.". ;)

Better than any of the other fine dining options at Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport, I'll give them that. The fried chicken is dry. But at least you can't go wrong with a burger here.

The Aunt Patty burger was so juicy and just a tiny bit sweet with the caramelized onions and 1000 Island! Fast service and free wifi.

Pretty good for an Airport restaurant. You get some big portions for the price you pay. I got the triple play sampler as a meal and I couldn't finish it. The Reuben was fairly large and it was tasty. If you have time to kill and want a decent meal, Max and Ermas is good.

  • Kyle B.

Lazy food, lazy service. More than half the plates going back full of food. Disgruntled patrons all around. This place should close down and let a restaurant fill this space. It looks charming for an airport place but don't do it. Waterworks is just down the hall.

I always enjoy the food at M&E. The garbage burger has always been one of my favorite burgers of all time. The fries are always good and fresh. For a airport restaurant it is a good stop if you have time.

Quick service and I didn't feel like the prices were airport gouging. My order came as I liked it. Just like any non-airport Max & Erma's!

  • Greg D.

There was no service the staff sat me at a table and I waited for 30 minutes before I had to ask for some service. Then waited another 15 for a glass of water. I didn't get to eat because my flight was boarding.

  • Travis S.

The prices are higher than your average. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for 17.00. One might ask why is the price so high.....well the waitress never gave me my change. The worst was yet to come my food was brick cold with average taste. I had no eating utensils. Next time I rather go to McDonald's.....

Food was pretty good. I am giving four stars because I had great service from Rachel. Its rare to have a server that really keeps an eye on all of her tables and has the energy to keep them all happy but she did it.

    (1)
  • Crissy S.

Pricier than normal but it's in the airport and the quality of the food is pretty good. Grey burgers. Huge salads. Decent service but not too fast so if you have limited time before a flight I wouldn't choose this place.

Great burger and waffle fries. Tastes like fresh grilled at home. We were in a hurry and they provided great fast service to go so we could make our flight and have a descent lunch. Also, I like the burger buns they use. Very good experience!

  • Becki B.

I would call this average airport food. The burger was relatively large, but didn't have any salt or spices to enhance the flavor. There was one slice of a small tomato on a large burger. The fries were hot and fresh. Service was fast.
