One of my favorite bars that I discovered during my visit to Detroit. The Mexican music was charming and reminded me of the music of my Polish heritage. Polka sounds similar although I prefer the earnest Mexican vocals. There were some beautiful Mexican women in the bar. A man sat at the bar in a cowboy hat. The service was excellent and the beer was cheap.

Gio's is my n'hood bar, and it is a delight. The waitresses are sweet and provide some of the most accommodating service in Detroit. I've held a number of events here (bday parties, post ultimate frisbee social events, neighborhood meetings, book club discussions, fifa viewing), and Ago Benavides, the owner, is always happy to work to welcome our group. Wait for a cool, sunny summer evening; bring in food from the el rodeo taco truck, Sicily's across the street, or anywhere else; park out on the patio; and order a very affordable modelo w/ lime and salt. Mmm.

Giovanna's is a total record scratch place. My friends and I have been asked a few times how we found our newest dive bar. It's helpful that we all work in the neighborhood. It all started on a Friday night. One of the other places we like to go was charging a cover which didn't make sense for that establishment. We wanted to sit outside because it was so nice. We decided to try Giovanna's. I'm glad we did. The out door patio is one of the best things about Giovanna's. It's huge and mostly covered. I think it'll be our go to place in the summer because the outside is one of the best things about it. The prices are also reasonable. $2 for domestic and 2.25 for imports during happy hour which is 5ish to 7. One of the strangest things was when we went back for a second time. We arrived at 5 pm on a Friday and the door was locked. I guess they don't really open until later. That didn't stop us from having a fun time on the back patio. I'm looking forward to going back again. They only take cash but do have a ATM at the bar.

Quiet, small, good beers, TVs, balloons. This is a pretty great bar if you like them down-tempo, quiet, sporting two or three tvs, having a decent bottle and can selection, and with a+ service. No food, but they do have bags of Better Made chips. A great place if you're looking to sip some brewskis alone or with a date/friend. They also had helium-filled Mother's Day balloons hanging around. so cute!

We stumbled upon this place after an afternoon SW Detroit excursion. Didn't even know if it was open. The Fiance walked up to the door and, voila, it opened. So, yes, we're in business. The place was empty except for the owner (?) and a few patrons who seemed to know her pretty well. Friendly service. Good tequila on hand. 75 cent pool games on their one pool table. Overall, we had a good time. Yes, we would go back next time we're on that side of town, too.

Great Place...Great atmosphere....No Cover charge...DJ on Fridays and maybe Saturdays DJ Ynot? Y's UP ENT This Kid is GOOD. He plays all types of music from tex mex to bachata, Hip-Hop, House, Salsa, Merengue and Motowns best. You name it He plays it. Its all in the name YNOT?.....They have food mostly during the day, chips..Great staff...Pool Table...Jukebox and also Dj Nano on Weekends with Dj Ynot A.K.A Dj Hookah....They ALSO HAVE HOOKAHS! My Favorite. Really recommend this Lounge....Great Patio in back where you can step out and get some air stare at stars while you dance the night away....The Only Lounge in Southwest with a Patio...I have also never seen a problem here...
