I gave Cardoni's another shot for lunch and I have to say, the food was vastly improved. The burger was done correctly this time, the iced tea was good, and although it's a tiny detail, the tomato on the burger was fresh and flavorful. Service was good as always, and for $8 plus tip I feel like I got a great lunch.

Cardoni's is a fine neighborhood bar and grill. Daily lunch specials along with a full variety of adult beverages. The staff is hands on with the owner Bob often seen behind the grill during the lunch hour and the daytime bartendar Christina is most personable and serves a great drink.

I like this place. i've been going for several years and think the food's always been great. their prices jumped up a little bit, but are still not bad. the only thing i can knock them on is they dont have my favorite beer. the bar is in an old 1800s farmhouse parlour basically, so it's very home-like. it's also great that they are immediately nextdoor to Ozzy's, another great neighborhood bar, so hopping between the two is fun. i miss the old "Booze on the Rouge" bar in Delray (where else can you roll up a fattie on the bar & blaze with the bartender & everybody?), but they tore it down. Cardoni's is almost as friendly & welcoming as that place was. they also have good specials sometimes that are written up on the board. i remember they had steak dinners once for $8...holy shit, way better than what you would expect for that price.

We stumbled in here yesterday for lunch since the place we had planned to eat at was closed. There were several people sitting at the bar and one other table was occupied. Surprisingly, the place did not smell of smoke and my clothes did not smell of smoke when we left. More of a bar than a restaurant, but they do have food. Burgers, patty melt, steak, steak and shrimp and appetizers comprises the entire menu. One of my companions went with the burger (excellent) and deep fried mushrooms (ok). I wasn't in the mood for a burger which is what they are known for so I went with chicken fingers and fries. Not anything to write home about, but solid. And what do you expect with chicken fingers and fries? Hot chicken fingers and seasoned fries. Worked for me. FYI - no lingerie fashion show (as mentioned by other Yelper in his review) that we saw (and it was a Tuesday). For the best, as our female colleague probably wouldn't have appreciated. She was probably the only woman in the joint though. Current special = $1 burger with drink purchase. Bartender was attentive and nice. Kudos to her. So 3* for restaurant for lunch, but my guess is if you are looking for a neighborhood bar to hang out in, it would rate higher.

Cardoni's is the classic All-American neighborhood bar. Think "Cheers" - except that the laugh track comes from your fellow patrons instead of a pre-recorded sound track. The booze is plentiful. Their prices are reasonable. The bartender is friendly. And they serve some of the best burgers around. UPDATE - May 24, 2009 I forgot to mention this earlier, but Cardoni's also has a variety of special events. There's a lingerie fashion show during lunch on Tuesday as well as pool and dart leagues. Please check their web site for the latest details. Oh, and they currently offer free Wi-Fi access so you can Yelp while drinking. (Yes, my life is good.)
