I have always had a deep love for captain jays growing up and is without a doubt one of the best places ever to get wings from. So while I was in Detroit, I had to make a stop at captain jays (after about a few years of not having it). First of all, this one in particular is in the old A&W. Secondly, the only reason why this place didn't get five stars is because of the drive thru. I did my order that way and with only three cars ahead of me, it took more than 30 minutes to get served, but hey the wings are worth it. The wings are basic, nothing special, just are freakin great. However it's the lemon pepper seasoning that takes it to legendary heights ( I highly advice to get a whole lot of lemon pepper on the wings and whatever fried food items you get from here). Also had the fried okra, which is one notch under church's chicken version which still equal greatness. Overall there is something here for everyone ( as it is a seafood and chicken place) and Is really a Detroit staple and a great place, just go in or call it in if possible.
