I'll start with the good. This place has been around since FOREVER. Donut. Muffins. Coffee. Simple as that. Large variety. Decent service. Fairly cheap for a mom and pop shop. They don't change anything. They don't add anything. They keep things simple and they've done a great job at doing so. The only negative thing about this place and the only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars vs 5 stars is I feel like it's a hit or miss with selection of donuts. I go in at the same time everyday and sometime, they literally have no donuts left but the ones nobody buys. I usually buy a blueberry cake or cherry cake. Maybe they sell quick I don't know but the shelves are empty! And I don't want the non fresh stuff that's been sitting on the bottom rack dude!! Still, I go here at least once a week. Give them a shot.

I don't know if I caught the bakers on a down day, but we were passing by and got a dozen, and.... I found the donuts to be dry. I would give em another try just to give them a second chance because I love my peanut donuts. My only recommendation to them would be to use salted peanuts.

  • Jason N.

Great donuts, 24 hours and friendly staff, I will come again and again,,, only. Tricky part is that sometimes they have only a few selections, but I guess that's what happens when you run 24/7.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had to have donutville donuts as often as possible. My favorite is the old fashioned cake donuts. Wow to die for. My husband is adventurous so he would always bring home their latest donuts, the best seasonal donuts I tasted were pumpkin and blueberry. Red velvet was good, but I feel like red velvet is just better as a cake. Def recommend, you won't regret it...it's just not a family friendly place, there always seems to be an unsavory character drinking coffee in there, so I just have my husband run down and pick up the donuts and Oooh their amazing coffee!

This donut place it so amazing... I always drove by it on my way to work and did not realize that it housed some of the best donuts I have ever had! The boston creme donut's filling is INCREDIBLE. The custard donut is wonderful too. Basically any donut with the amazing custard filling is amazing. The prices here are extremely affordable, $8 for an entire dozen donuts, which is incredible! Even for half a dozen, it is only $4.50. And these are FULL SIZED donuts, not small ones. I think that everything about this place is just great. Although the donuts are very rich and definitely a treat, I would come here again to get donuts for any occasion I can think of! I recommend this place 100%.

I went in here for the first time on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. I picked up 6 donuts, some donut holes, and a coffee. All donuts were super fresh and were very tasty, especially the donut holes. The coffee was also very good. The service from the gentleman behind the counter was 5 star, he was very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to head back here for more treats!

Great donuts! Love visiting this place when I'm in the metro Detroit area! Can't go wrong with any of the varieties.

  • Alyce M.

If I could give zero stars I would. We were there at 8 am on a week day and there was one kind of donuts left. Six of one kind...so much for hot donuts all day.

The best Donuts!!!! Their buttercream is like velvet oreo cream stuffed in an angelic light fluffy and sweet doughnut.

  • Alan W.

Awesome donuts! Good selection! Will definitely be back!

  • J R.

So marvelously retro. Was great to sit at the counter and be served. Didn't have to cram it in my mouth behind the wheel of my car and drink out of styrofoam. A few regulars came in and out, chatted with the counter gal, sat down and drank coffee. Such a nice small-town vibe that is rare to find in a big metro area. Mid-century modern gem.

this has been my number one doughnut spot for 14 years! I don't recall having a bad experience and they have great service too. highly recommended. once I came in and wanted some honey dip with a chocolate glaze, but the shelf was out. the server said, no problem, went to the back, and made some from a fresh batch she just made. just impressive service.

  • Katia B.

I have been to this donut shop a few time. It does have a cool retro feel to it. Service was good and the donuts are just typical donuts that taste good.

Donutville is the best donut shop and not only for the fact that this location is actually opened 24/hrs but because everything is delicious and nothing sucks. Another plus is whenever I'm in the mood for their yummy sweets at the late hours of a night, they are always stocked with the donut I desire. There is never an empty slot and that wins big kudos to me. The prices are super reasonable as well; a half dozen is $4.50 and a dozen is $8. That's a steal considering how tasty their baked goods are. For donut recommendations: Chocolate, Dutch Crumb (my absolute favorite), Bavarian Creme and Sour Cream are the only ones I've tried so far and all of them will not disappoint. Whether you are headed to work at 8am and need a quick snack or you're with friends around 2am and need somewhere to satisfy your munchies, Donutville is the place to go!

  • Melissa M.

This place is awesome. Seriously. The people that work here are really nice, too.

    (4)
  • Consumeration L.

Seriously, you're an idiot if you drive past this place to go to Tim Horton's. Donut's are meant to be made by little old Polish lady's in the back, NOT by robots. The coffee is ON POINT! No frappes or crappes. There's 2 flavors, black coffee w/cream and sugar or go home. You get bare bones here with a few holiday specialties. Want oreo's on your donut? Get a life! Want a cronut? Kill yourself. Come here if you want real donuts.

  • Izzy A.

Donuts sold here will surely ruin the diet you've been working so hard to maintain. Yes, it's that good! If you ask me, this place is better, in terms of freshness and price, than the local "chain" coffee shops in the area. It truly gives that experience of the corner store that seems to be rare these days.

Coffee and a donut, what more can you ask for. Reasonable prices and a good place to hang out and socialize

  • Abdul S.

I've been passing by this 24-hour doughnut shop for years, but I never ventured in. One fateful Saturday night with friends dragged me down to Dearborn at 2am for a dozen + extras. I wasn't expecting anything special, but the doughnuts were surprisingly delicious. The woman told us that they make a fresh batch every morning, yet our "day old" doughnuts tasted super fresh. They were soft, fluffy, and full of flavor. We tried mostly all of them, from jelly filled to blueberry. Their most popular was the honey dip (basically glazed but sweeter) and rightfully so. It was a melt-in-your-mouth doughnut, and well worth the nighttime drive. We also tried an Apple Fritter, which was less fruit filled than I was anticipating. This place is really good, definitely worth a try if you like doughnuts and are in the metro-Detroit area.

Great sign, cool retro feel and what I love most 24 hours of fresh and yummy donuts! No donut shops please me more than those that are open 24 hours a day! The people were nice, alot of older gentlemen drinking coffee is always a good sign, they look like they have been sitting there the last 30 years! Since they bake around the clock there was a great selection but what caught my eye was the day olds a dozen for $3! Being stingy AND greedy, I chose 2 bags with different donuts and she told me anything before 12 pm gets packed and sold for cheap. Leaving with 24 donuts for $6 I was a happy camper off to my hotel room for a dinner of champions, cable tv, a bottle of milk and next to me in bed 2 dozen donuts. It was a yummy, crummy mess and I loved every bit. Unfortunatly they were still so soft and fresh (not really a bad thing) that they crushed against each other and were not pretty. I didn't really care since I was not sharing or showing anyone, they tasted fine, great variety and all were slighty above average. Not mindblowing, but not bad and at that price I cannot complain, better than frm any grocery store or Dunkin Donuts.

I'm in love with the fact that this place is open 24 hours. It's rare that you find that in MI. This place has some quality bites. You won't be bound to Tim Hortons the next time you're craving some delicious dough nuts. The Apple fritters here are the softest that I've ever had. The filling is so satisfying and gooey. I highly recommend it! As for the rest of their donuts: the softness can't be beat. The only comparable donut that you could get in MI that I can think of is a Krispy Kreme when it's RIGHT off of the line. But there's much more soul and satisfaction with a donut from Donutville, USA.

  • トモ T.

Feels like 1960's when you are in here. No, they didn't decorate this place in 60's theme, it just looks like they haven't renewed their fixtures since 60's. I used to pop in here around 6:00 am for a cup of coffee, the same old guys where hanging out talking to to the wait staff. They seemed to be in no rush, just kicking it back. I always wondered, 'why do get get up so early in the morning and hang out at a donut shop?' Well, their coffee was pretty decent. Not great, just decent. Donut was good.

  • Annette J.

Yum! I love a good doughnut and Donutville USA makes a mean deep fried treat, let me tell you! They've got a variety of your standard flavors--powdered sugar, peanut, buttermilk, etc etc. All fresh and ready for your consumption! They're $1 a pop which may be a little steep compared to other joints but they're fab. The space is untouched from the day it was built many moons ago. Big glass windows, counters for sitting with coffee and a doughnut, all in hues of orange and brown. The huge sign outside beckoning folks in from their commutes down Ford Road. Would you believe that I've never tried the coffee here? For shame. So I can't comment on that. But the doughnuts--they are great. Try to pop by when I can. So much better to support a spot like this that has been truckin' along since the 60s than another DD down the street.

  • Jen S.

Good fresh coffee, good clean counters and sugar containers, awesome donuts. I love this place. I wish there were more places like it.

    (5)
  • Jon S.

Donuts were really soft and delicious. Coffee was decent enough. We paid $5.05 for 2 (small) mugs of decaf, a custard-filled donut, and a bow tie donut. It's unclear whether or not refills are free: the menu says they're not, but I didn't get charged, so I left a buck for the woman behind the counter just in case. The atmosphere is unbelievably nostalgic if your parents took you to donut shops filled with old men reading papers for hours as a child. They also have a flat screen and wi-fi, so if nobody kills me for bringing a laptop, I'm going to start spending some time at this place soon. If you care: the women's bathroom is kept locked, and my wife, who was a little reluctant to use it at first, said it was really clean.

    (5)
  • LisaAnn R.

My husband refers to this place as the "cathedral of doughnut shops" and I wholeheartedly agree. Great doughnuts and coffee, but the real reason to visit this place is the atmosphere -- built in the 60s and relatively untouched since, it's a pleasant step back in time.

    (5)
  • KayLen R.

I absolutely love their coffee and donuts. The staff is really friendly and their glazed donuts are delicious. The only suggestion I would have is to make sure that they have a fresh batch of donuts made between 3-5. I have went in there with my son and they tell me they have not made any glazed with sprinkels. But, overall this is a great coffee shop.

Good coffee, nice people. Cool retro feel...like Don Draper is gonna be stumbling in for a smoke and coffee in a back booth.

  • Sparkely K.

Holy Wayback Machine!!!!! I thought this place had closed years ago! When I was a kid I went here regularly with my Dad for yummy out of this world donuts. What great memories I have. Of course, you realize, these memories go back about 40+ years, so I'm not sure what the donuts are like today. But who cares. Even the pictures I just saw on Google show that it hasn't changed at all. Wow.

  • John N.

I hope this place doesn't fall victim to the 1-2 punch of a deepening recession and the upcoming smoking ban (which I Iargely support) . There is no better people watching in Dearborn than Donutville U.S.A. at 3 a.m. Donuts are good. Coffee fair. They used to have free wi-fi (not sure anymore). The plasma TVs juxtaposed against the 1970s paneling really cracks me up.
