I stopped by Bartz Bakery when a sweet tooth ached after lunch with my husband. Walking in, your nose is met with a rich cinnamon scent. I drove up thinking I'd get a cupcake or a brownie... my number one priority became finding whatever that amazing cinnamon smell came from! I walked around the bakery and checked out their various offerings. They had loaves of bread, various decorated cookies, cupcakes, rolls, donuts, bagels and cakes. I found the delicious-smelling cinnamon rolls and ordered a couple of those first. They were only $.60! That's cheaper than the packaged ones at the gas station. I also picked out a couple cupcakes, a small pineapple upside down cake and a chocolate eclair. I got six goodies and my total was $6.60. Extremely fair, especially considering two cupcakes at Just Baked runs $7+. Everything I bought was tasty. The red velvet cupcake wasn't in the top five I've eaten, though. It tasted like vanilla with a mild cream cheese frosting, instead of the rich chocolatey flavor with a sweet cream cheese frosting that they normally have. Overall, I was still happy with my purchase and the prices paid. If you're in the area, stop by Bartz Bakery to check out their large selection of baked goods!

First time impressions- love the quick in n out service, and the family atmosphere. Found the pastry bread to be a little blan, but the lemon bar was amazing (and I hate lemon bars!) and the cannoli was pretty decent. The prices are awesome- one cannoli, one lemon bar, one tulip cookie and 2 cinnamon rolls= less than $5 (Woot-woot). We will defensively be making this a regular stop.

Bartz Bakery is the go- to bakery for my family and I, all of their creations are fantastic and fresh, and the staff are always friendly and happy to answer questions. If they've been in business this long, you know theyre great!

Kolachy! Yum, yum, yum. I came here looking for bumpy cake for my dad as a special treat and wound up walking off with some of the best kolachy I have had in a long time. Wow. The bumpy cake worked too. Dad was very pleased, heck we all were but this was for him specifically. Moist, rich and delish. The perfect foil to a fish, fruit and veg BBQ. Bam - calorie bomb. This only works when the guilt is worth it and oh boy it was! Service was friendly and speedy, I saw plenty that I wanted to try. Prices were bakery reasonable. If you are used to Kroger/Meijer pricing then you will find it spendier but if you are a specialty bakery person you will find it reasonable and cheap for a lot of items. It is all in your perspective. The taste is way better than grocery and equal to that I have found in spendier shops. Overall I was very pleased with the price point to taste ratio. I will be back! I am marking this as my paczki place for this coming Fat Tuesday given the other reviews. Fingers crossed.

Being a new resident of Michigan, I had no clue what "Fat Tuesday" was and how it was celebrated. My friend told me all those other paczki were fake and I had to try the real one. I did not have the chance to go to Hamtramck but she did happen to score me some from another bakery and they were so good! Of course, I had to get more so I planned to go to all the local bakeries that served paczki, Bartz was first on my list and last! I was satisfied with Bartz paczki. I only bought 2 and finished them in the car in their parking ... no shame ... traveling this far I only had to get more (3 more) and decided to get the bf a cinnamon roll. No verdict on the cinnamon roll yet but I'm so happy with my paczki! mmMmmmmm!

I ordered some cupcakes for my grandfathers funeral and picked them up the morning of the viewing and they were stale and gross. 3 dozen cupcakes. The people at the funeral were taking a bite, asking me where they came from and then throwing them out. I called the bakery a few days later after everything was done and asked to speak to one of the owners. She got on the phone and I told her what happened and she started screaming at me in a language that I didn't understand, all I could understand was "they fresh they fresh". Then she handed the phone to someone else that spoke English and that person proceeded to tell me "well you aren't getting your money back". I told her I didn't want my money back, I just wanted them to know how bad the cupcakes were. I will never go back to this bakery. Awful cupcakes and awful customer service.

As soon as you enter the store, stop. Breathe in the most wonderful smelling air that exists! Their small pastries are out of this world. Fresh, moist, and delicious. They have a large variety of coffee cakes including chocolate, banana, cherry, etc. The people who work there are most pleasant. The prices are very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and check out Bartz.

When you walk into Bartz you get hit hard by the smell of baked, sugary goodness. You know what I'm talking about? That warm, sweet smell of baking cookies, icing, rising bread, and crumbs. So so fabulous! The place is overwhelming in a good way. Tons of cookies to choose from. From standard bakery fair--sugar cookies, chocolate chip, etc., to more specialty and ethnic fare like kolachky (holla!). A wide variety of pastries are also cheap and look delicious. Doughnuts and cinnamon rolls, cakes and pies. It's a sugar addict's dream come true! The sandwich eaters will also be happy here when they see the loaves of bread available--french, italian, etc. I didn't catch if they had rye bread but I'm sure they do. The prices are totally reasonable and even on the cheap side, which is great if you're on a budget. In the end I reined myself in and settled on a loaf of cinnamon bread and a raspberry pastry stick. The pastry was flaky and sweet. The raspberries tasted fresh. A delicious little treat for around a buck. And HUGE. I easily split it with my grandma that night and had plenty leftover. The cinnamon bread is soft and fluffy and had a great cinnamon swirled flavor, topped with sweet white icing. A great treat toasted up with some sliced apples and nutella or just alone or with a slathering of butter. Yowza!

They have the best cakes, cookies, bread and cupcakes in town at affordable prices. I've been coming here for about 15 yrs for all my office holiday parties and they are always a hit. It's family owned so they take pride in making each and every customers happy unlike the big grocery stores that just pops out sheets of cake and puts them in the freezer. Give them a try and the prices are extremely reasonable, whatever your request is they are sure to accommodate your every need.

Stay away!!! My wife made me stop there once and now My car WILL NOT allow me to pass by without forcing me to pull into parking lot. I always get a dozen of their terrible donuts/pastries, even though I hate them. Don't stop or u will be hooked.

Bartz is a place that you want to go to once in awhile. I say this because once you try one of their baked goods, you might become addicted and fat. Their desserts are ridiculous. The bumpy cupcake is one of the best things I have ever eaten. And it's huge for a cupcake. Prices are average (not cheap but not overly pricey either). I have yet to try their bread but have tried 3 different types of pastries and all were fresh baked and moist. There is nothing I hate more than a dry pastry/dessert. My main suggestion for Bartz is their cupcakes. Oh, how I drool over their cupcakes. Actually, all of the trendy cupcake shops that have been popping up really need to stop into Bartz first to see how a real cupcake is done. Yup, I said it.

I have a weird relationship with this place. It's not very close to where I live but when I'm near Telegraph I can't resist not going there. It has a cozy atmosphere with a handful of tables if you want to eat there but I always am on the go when I eat there. One thing I noticed is that the mini pizzas are always cold, small, and have way to little sauce. But my love will always be for there pepperoni rolls. Those things are amazing and not to expensive. This joint is pretty okay but good enough for me to come back.

I LOVE Bartz Bakery! I always get rolls here for family events & they are so inexpensive & super fluffy. I am a big fan of their frosted raisin bread, their bumpy cake, their bumpy cupcake & their paczki's. I used to live a couple blocks away so I'd pop in for regular bread & other items more often but now that I live in the Farmington area I don't go here as often but when I need bulk baked goods I still make the drive here to get them. Service is good, food is wonderful & the price is right!!

Been coming to Bartz for years, it was a tradition growing up to get our Birthday cakes there. The cakes are quite tasty, beautifully decorated, and priced well.

A great place to get Paczkis -- light and fluffy, fillings oozing out as you bite into them. Not too doughy or sweet. -- as long as we only have Fat Tuesday once a year, indulge!

I have had numerous bad purchases here and each time i tried something different. Their bread is fresh because they sell alot of it. however, their baked goods are most likely atleast 2 days old. The girl told me that she has to say everything was made this morning or she will lose her job. Muffins, cupcakes, donuts and danishes are not made daily. If the employee is honest enough, she will tell you that. Stay away from their cakes which i'd say is pushing one week old. It is reasonably priced though, probably cuz they are not discarding expired stuff.

I'm of Hungarian descent and there is no place that comes closer to homemade than Bartz. I pay $6.49/container for Kolachy cookies at Westborn because they are worth it...but if you can drive to the bakery yourself the prices are so much more reasonable, and there is nothing like fresh from the oven.
