Excellent food and service at reasonable prices, particularly for lunch. The sweet and sour chicken is my personal favorite. They have a kids menu and a seating area for larger groups. If you want chopsticks you have to specifically ask for them. The food is always hot and the portions are generous.

The food is always good- vegetables super fresh and you get a lot of food for the price!

Worst service ever! They say 15 minutes and I always double the time and I still end up waiting. They ignore you when you walk also

While Leongs isn't my favorite Chinese restaurant in Macomb County (Ping On at 19 Mile and Garfield is) ... Leongs is my favorite in the Chesterfield area. There are two (different!) Leongs locations. One at 23 Mile and 21 Mile. I usually dine in at the 21 Mile location and get carry out at the 23 Mile location, because it's closer to my house. Don't get them confused! My go-to Chinese meal is Sesame Chicken. While many say this entree is hot or spicy, I've never been one to agree one that. Other favorites of mine include Sweet and Sour Chicken and Almond Boneless Chicken. The portions at Leongs are huge! I easily have a meal leftover for the next day -- a huge bonus for me. Great deal and I recommend dining for lunch for an even better steal! $5 combination plates! This particular location is a *tad* outdated but that's part of it's charm. The food always makes up for it. Employes are friendly and always greet you with a smile. They know me by name and there are always so many regulars there as well. The best Chinese restaurant in Chesterfield!

I debated between 3 and 4 stars, but went with 3 and I'll tell you why. First off, the food has always been good, and I never have an issue with its quality. I do, however, take issue with the very slow service. When I order a carry out, the timing is never correct. Don't tell me 20 minutes, and then take 40. Conversely, don't tell me 30 mins, and then when I come in 30 minutes tell me it's been waiting for me for 15 minutes. On top of that, the day manager (an older lady) seemed bothered to do anything, not only for me, but for the other guests and the server when the server needed help. Overall, the food is great, but they need to work on servicing the public better, and I think their business would be much more profitable.

Don't get why this one is disgusting! However, Leong's 21 is amazing? WHY? Filthy, stale, unable to eat it.. Been like this forever. Why? Why?

We keep on trying but we can't do it. When I called for carry-out they said 45 minutes. My husband arrived about 50 minutes later and he counted 14 people waiting for their carry out order. In the 20 minutes standing there, they called 4-5 orders. Ours was not one of them. They have really got to get their service together.

Like some other people I was debating a 3 or 4 star. I went with a 3 because of the last two times I had their food. Last time I ordered schezuan chicken. It was rather bland and I had to add a bunch of my own soy sauce and other things to make it taste good. Today kinda pissed me off. They told me 25 minutes until my order was ready. I show up 25 min later, the lady asked me if i ordered shrimp subgum fried rice or shrimp subgum chop suey. I said ordered shrimp subgum fried rice, so she goes back and tells them in the kitchen. I'm assuming that the person who took my order effed it up because I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. SUPER ANNOYING. Anyway, It was pretty bland and as I was eating I come across this 4 inch long wire looking thing in my food. I call up there and tell them about it and she says oh we will make you a new one. At that point I was turned off of the food and just wanted a refund. She gave me an attitude about that and said she just wanted to make me a new one. I again asked for a refund and that I would be in later to pick it up and return the uneaten food. When I got there to pick up my money I handed her the box and said the wire was inside. She must of thought I was talking about the staple because she tried to tell me the staple was supposed to be there....well duh I know what the hell a staple is. I told her the wire was inside, she said it was part of what they clean the pan out with....don't think i'll be going here anymore.

Reliable good Chinese food. I don't understand all the buzz about Leong's 21. 23 Mile is a much better place.

This leongs is really good i like 21 & gratiot better for dine in!! My friend worked there and the owner makes them say 15 mins even if its going to be 45 mins!

Mediocre would be a compliment. The place is a dump, it's depressing, dark, and there are no windows. Maybe the food'd make up for it? Nope. Below average Chinese food. I know of a lot of people that like this place, but it's likely only because it's one of few Chinese restaurants around. If you want some good Chinese food, go to China King at 21 and Gratiot, or even Great Wall on 23 Mile Road before hitting Jefferson (Next to Blockbuster).

Wow this is definitely not your typical Chinese food restaurant. The Mongolian beef is 98% onions. You have to search for the beef! The chicken lo mein is a joke! It's boiled thin spaghetti with some type of flavorless gravy. GROSS! And on top of that the lady taking the order over the phone was not very friendly. If you want real Chinese food THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE!

This place just isn't good at all. I've had the general Tso, sesame, and bourbon chicken and were all way under par. The chicken just has no taste whatsoever. The people were also slow and rude not to mention the American server that brings your food out is sweaty and unprofessional. I tried this place multiple times with the same result. If you want decant Chinese go to china buffet on 23 or china king on 21 n gratiot. (Both are better but nothing like the authentic Chinese I get in Detroit) I gave two stars because the egg rolls aren't half bad.

I had the Pepper steak and was underwhelemed....it was a lot of food and hot, but had little taste, the egg drop soup was boiling hot and even when it cooled down was also a bit tasteless. As for the Egg roll, it was obviously microwaved and the shell was hard. The restaurant itself was clean, and one of the owners daughters was sitting in a booth doing God knows what on the computer. Over all I won't go back.....you decide.

This particular location is absolutely busy....and it was a Sunday night. The ten tables were filled inside and the line for carryout never stopped. The service was okay, but it is the food that keeps people coming back for more. There are two other Leong's kind of in the surrounding area...but this is definitely the best one out of the three. The beef broccoli was awesome, and so was the chicken pea pod. The food comes out fast, hot, and plentiful. I can assure you the experience here will be among the best American Chinese food places....you will get what you want and what you were expecting, no surprises. Also their egg drop soup is awesome. Most places it taste to much like jello, this place had great texture and flavor. Stop in and eat it up!

Had the Schezuan beef, which was good, not spicy at all though. The lo mein tastes different than any lo mein I've ever had anywhere else and that's not really a good thing. The noodles are skinny, it's too saucy, and the taste is just off. We placed a takeout order here for about six meals and had one heck of a time communicating the combination lo mein order for some reason. It wasn't necessarily a language barrier either, as my husband said the woman's English was fine. I don't know how many times we had to say "COMBINATION lo mein with the chicken, beef, and shrimp..." "NO...not the COMBO..." if it's that confusing, change the name of the dish, good grief.

So I haven't been here in roughly 7 years... So recently I moved back to the area and had to go back. Yup, it tastes EXACTLY the same... Like Katie says above, the other Leongs are kinda crappy compared to this one... Still one of my favs

Excellent. Particularly like the shrimp fried rice, almond chicken, and egg rolls.

Compared to other chinese restaurant places I have eaten at. This one is not that great. The chicken was really dry as well as the shrimp. It did not stand up to the hype in my eyes.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
