Visited there today with my wife and youngest daughter. The menu was quite extensive and I choose a Chinese dish with med hot flavor with fried tofu and vegetables. It was perfect, and as a vegetarian I was quite happy. They would not substitute the egg drop soup which I would not eat ($1.75) for the spring roll ($1.25) which I had to order as an extra. The spring roll was very good and came with sweet and sour sauce. I also ordered a ice tea. Delivery was very fast and I was surprised and pleased. When my spring roll was delivered and as my tea was low, the waitress offered to fill it and then forgot me and never returned so I ate my meal without any tea. When the bill was delivered my wife remained her of the tea and we did get a refill but would have been happier for it as a "to go". Overall, I would recommend them to anyone, but would make sure that they did not forget me again.

Thanks for the food poisoning. Don't think I will ever be coming back. Cute place but I don't enjoy being up until 3 am puking my brains out.

I haven't been here since I was a kid. Since I wanted to take my daughter out for something that wasn't fast food or the typical American burger and fries meal, this place popped up in my head. I remembered how delicious the egg drop soup was, that always stuck out for me. We arrived and I was pleased to see they were opened at the awkward time of 1pm. Anyone with kids can attest to the fact that all the timing and planning you do never really works out. I had planned to get there at noon, but my daughter is usually in her own fantasy land and gets distracted while getting ready for her day. She's 15 trapped in the body of a five-year-old. So, I got the hot tea, she got a lemonade, we had a wonton appetizer, and I ordered the same meal for both of us, which was crispy shrimp with Chinese vegetables. Both came with their egg drop soup, and was happy to find that it still tastes as good as I remembered. The shrimp meal was really good, as well. Overall, it was a great meal and it's quality is right up there with all the other Chinese places I've been to in MI and Cali.

I was surprised to find such a great Chinese restaurant in a small city like Cheboygan! The place was neat and clean. The server was very attentive and so it was the owner who stop at our table to say hi. I had the chop sway and have to say it was delicious! I also has to try their spring rolls and had a sample of what others at my table were eating. It was all good! Their menu includes Thai and Chinese items. Thanks Mom for recommending such a great place! :-)

While temporarily in the area (recovering from backpacking the Pictured Rocks in the U.P.), my girlfriend and I stumbled across this place. I love Asian cuisine, and we were craving it hardcore - naturally, we were excited about the brilliant twist of fate in our favor. Or so we thought. We ordered takeout, specifying very carefully that I was vegan and her vegetarian, that we didn't want any meat whatsoever, that we wanted tofu. Good and well, deed done and we waited for the food to finish. We took it and drove to where we were staying (about 20 min away). We open our food to find that they have given her chicken. Lovely, aye? So we call up there and explain what happened. Our appetite for it spoiled, I ask if they will refund our money if we bring back the food, to which they agree. We get there and they tell us that they won't refund our money, but they'll remake it. Reluctantly, and a bit upset that they lied to me over the phone, we agree and wait. They produce it promptly, insisting that there is no meat this time. We drive back; the dishes were made EXACTLY the same way. We drove back up there and demanded our money back, which the manager agreed to only because the dining room was filling up with other customers. The workers were nice enough, but after a blatant mess-up like that more than once, we were not biting. I ended up making portabella burgers for dinner instead, which was a good decision. Long story short, I wouldn't recommend the place.

Really? 5 stars, people? Have you ever eaten Chinese food before? The only reason I give this place even two stars is because we didn't get food poisoning. I ordered the Mongolian Beef. It was swimming in a sauce that tasted like Lipton's onion soup mix. My partner ordered Pad Se Ew and was equally disappointed. Our first hint should have been the disclaimer printed on the menu that says any dish ordered will be paid for--no exceptions. Skip this spot if you enjoy Asian food.

I was back in my home town visiting family and friends in Northern Michigan. What would a visit be without a trip to this Chinese/Thai restaurant. The food is fantastic! Great selection of vegetarian choices, any of their dishes can be made with tofu, which is great for us vegetarians out there. I asked for my dish to be made extra spicy and that is exactly how they made it...delish! The owner and all the wait staff are very friendly. Definitly one of my top restaurants to go to on my visits home to Northern Michigan.

I was excited to see a Chinese place up here, but the food wasn't good and the prices did NOT meet my expectations. For a $20 meal they served a decent portion, but their rice was burnt badly and they're entrees were tasteless. Much more to be expected.

We spend most of our summers in Cheboygan, and the Indo China is one of our regular haunts when looking for something different. The food is excellent--it easily ranks with the best of Asian restaurants we have dined in over the years. The place is small, but it just adds to the atmosphere, along with the good wait staff, and again, the outstanding food. The availability of Thai foods and vegetarian fare is a plus, and the prices are reasonable.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
