Last night I had the bacon & bleu cheese filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly & the service is always very friendly. There are only two negatives to my dining experience last night: the food took an hour to arrive, and the dining room was EXTREMELY cold. My wife dined with her coat on, and had to lay mine across her lap. But the food & service was excellent.

This place isn't going to dazzle you nor will it disappoint. GLG seems to always get it right no matter how busy they are. You're going to get decent food with decent service at decent prices. What the place lack in decor, it makes up in the aforementioned three areas. They are kind to locals and vacationers alike. I had the fish and chips and it was cooked just right, as were the fries. Every restaurant up north should know how to prepare fish and GLG goes through a lot of it. It is not uncommon for them to sell out. I washed it down with a few Oberons that were on special. Go there on Sunday sometime and get the "chicken after church." 4 pieces of fried chicken with all the trimmings including my favorite: lumpy mashed potatoes. My wife order a ribeye special they had for only $9.99. Not my first place to order a steak but it was made to order and tasted great. Well done GLG. It is the Four Seasons. Hell, it isn't fancy at all. Food is better than most and priced just right. Make this a stop the next time you're in Cheboygan.

Mediocre at best. We ate with a group. My aunt had been here before and really liked it, but the majority of our party wasn't impressed. The service was terribly slow. We were in the restaurant for about three hours - we saw tables who came in after us being served their meals before we even got our salads. I get the up-north-chill vibe, but waiting an hour between salad and meal is way too long. The restaurant's menu was long and overwhelming, but they didn't even have a wine or beer list. The menus they did have were falling apart. I ordered pan-fried perch to share with my mom, and we got a salad too. All of our meals, apparently, came with 'house made bread,' which we were all excited for. The rest of our group got different kinds of fish (walleye, whitefish) and some steaks. We promptly got our drinks, which were fine. After about a half hour, we got our salads. They were decently sized, and the homemade ranch was pretty good. The homemade croutons were interesting. Some were really good, but some were just too greasy to consume. The homemade bread, however, was stale, dry, and seemed store-bought. We were given packets of butter. After another hour (while multiple tables seated after us were already paying their bills) we finally got our meals. My mom and I realized then we should've gotten our own meals. The perch portion was very small. We got three pieces each (each piece 3x1 inch) and our baked potato was skinny. There was also a rotten black stem on the potato. The seasoning of the perch was very bland. I've had much better perch elsewhere. My other family members weren't too fond of their prime ribs - too greasy and fatty, low quality meat. However, my aunts really liked their Parmesan crusted whitefish. I did try some of theirs, and it was pretty good. After eating, we waited nearly another hour just to get our bill. We missed the sunset we wanted to watch back on the Lake Michigan side of Mackinaw City. The bathrooms in the restaurant were cramped and out of toilet paper. The waitresses were nice but not very attentive, and didn't know much about their menu or drink selection. The only pro I can really give this place is their homemade ranch dressing.

This has always been a stop when in town, never fails to be a great meal!! Last week had the 2Bone 1 lb. pork chop and they were out this world. I always take others with me show off this place, owner and wait staff are Lin good mood and make sure we are taken care of.

Super friendly. Amazing food. Huge portions. Outdated decor, but don't judge a book by its cover. I took one star for slower service.

Poor service, fast food quality ...no I take that back it's worse than that because of the high prices they charge you for this poor quality cuisine. I wanted to like it, it's near our home but last nites dinner was just awful. The ten walleye bites that ranged in sizes of a dime and a nickle, were scattered cold on a wilted piece of lettuce with a plastic container half filled with store bought tartar sauce. We shared myhusbands small $20 ribs because my clam strips were mushy and cold. We quickly paid the bill walked over to publix and picked up a roaster chicken and headed home. If I could give this place 0 stars I would but that's not an option. Do yourself a favor and don't waste a trip, your money, or a bad experience. This review is meant for Great Lakes Grill in Jupiter Florida!!!!!!!!!! Can't change address!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is...fine. Looking for Friday night dinner after the 5 hour drive from Detroit to "up north" we wanted something..."up north". Great Lakes Grill has pretty standard american fare, but the feature is clearly the seafood. Or is it lake food? Everybody ordered the fish - mine was white fish, blackened. The fish was fresh, flaky, and well cooked but a little over seasoned. I rarely leave a seafood dish on my plate, but here...I just wasn't quite feeling it. Maybe it was the long drive? Everyone else agreed this was exactly what we were looking for. Things that were good - the atmosphere, "You know, I think this might be a double wide trailer." The fried dishes - the fish & chips were reported to be a big winner (we weren't allowed to have any, so that must tell you something). And, the homemade bread that came with the entrees was nice. One member of our party ordered a vodka tonic that was good, and apparently cheap. So, I dunno, solid I suppose. It certainly won't kill you, and has that "up north" kind of charm we were looking for.

Working in Cheboygan MI, locals suggested this as one of their favs. At first we passed it because it doesnt really stand out..inside sports a 70's theme including 70's music like Manilow, Glen Campbell. Even though this was not just a theme, They put together a nice 1/2 slab of ribs ,1/ dozen shrimp and choice of potatoe. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to please, even teasing me about drinking my beer with a nipple, anyways..if you find your way this far North, and your hungry, stop on in and grab a bite, its worth it.t

Locals rave about this place, but for our money, we will pass. The service was less than friendly, the food was bland/cold, and the bill was high. McDonald's experience with Ritz prices.

Very good. Service was excellent. White fish... blackened... excellent. Wait staff checked with us often. A dessert that looked worth a try next time... somekind of hugh creampuff.

Great food. We tried the all you can eat cod dinner. Cod was excellent and I'm not really a fish eater. Fries and coleslaw were good. Dinner bread was fresh and homemade. Like other reviews, great food but terrible service. Very slow. Also cold inside but I was good with a sweatshirt.
