I love sliders so I've been anxious to try this place for a while. I stopped in a little past lunch time so I was literally the only person there. Thus, I received great service while sitting at the bar. I ordered 2 doubles and a chili fry. Both were great and to me these are a great version of the traditional slider. They do the traditional griddled hamburger with onions and then serve it wrapped in paper with hand-cut pickles on top. I loved their pickles because they were fresh, thick and crunchy - so I asked for more. The chili fries were great too and used crinkle cut fries, which I like, with chili sauce that was straight coney style. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and would stop in again.

Ok... 5 stars for a burger joint with an EXTREMELY limited menu? Yup, and I'll tell you why. I have driven past this place multiple times and have always meant to drop in, but never did. Today, my daughter and I were out doing errands and wanted to try someplace new for lunch... We chose this joint. The menu is limited, burgers (single, double , with or without cheese), a patty melt, grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Beverages are fountain pop or shakes/malts. The food is simple and good, and relatively quick to arrive... The service and friendliness of all those at work was where the stars really shine... They actually seem happy to have you there and earnestly concerned that your food is to your liking... I will be there again soon!

LOVE this place. I was beyond excited when I seen it being built. I live very close so I always catch myself stopping in for a couple burgers. I have a friend who works there, which is always nice to see her. I would 100% recommend going here. Management and the staff are amazing.

Basically it is a greasy slider cooked when ordered, which is nice. The prices are reasonable and it's relatively quick for what it is. The chili is phenomenal - I suggest getting plain and scrapping onions off your slider. A few issues I have with it is that the onions and pickles are piled on and overpower the meat patty, which could be why people say the meat has no flavor - look at what it competes with. The one time I ordered fries I was disappointed - frozen crinkle cut. It would probably help their business if they moved to fresh potatoes. And I wouldn't even mind paying a little more for that. I have to say it does hit the spot. So if a solid slider place is what you're craving stop here.

Ok; since moving over to this side of town I've passed this place numerous times wondering would they stand up to other dinner style old school grease slider establishments i.e. (Greene's - Farmington Hills, Telway - Detroit). Well......I wonder no more, Vinnies has a ton of potential......from the soft bun, to the thin cut sweet onions caramelized into the meat patty, to the salty brine pickle slices. These sliders are flavorful and filling. Would have liked a little seasoning on the meat, but that's a personal preference. The old-school crinkle cut fries was hot and lightly dusted with salt. With a friendly wait staff......my experience was a 8 out of 10. After a few more trips, to check for consistency of product and service....I could easily give this place 10 out of 10.

Had high hopes, it's just "ok". Food was hot, service good but not a lot of taste in the burgers. Not bad, just not great!

A very solid sandwich for the money, although as a first timmer, I found the menu boards ordering system a tad confusing. Tge production was freaky fast too, I ordered and before I knew it my Italian was in my hand. My only complaint is sub shops often use shredded iceberg lettuce as filler instead of flavorful toppings. Of course I get the reason but as the end user I would like more meat. For this area, this is your best bet. So if you go to Mann's to order some doors like I did, grab a tasty sub from Vinnies

First time ever eating here and the hamburger was soggy. I asked for a double cheeseburger and it looked old and microwaved. Fries were still cold! Overall nasty!

I really wanted to like this place, because LOOK AT IT. How stinking adorable! My uber healthy lunch consisted of a fresh strawberry milkshake (look Mom! - dairy & vitamin C...), a grilled cheese and french fries with ketchup. I'm a kid at heart, what can I say. My sweetie ordered a cheese slider and chili slider. The regular slider was pretty alright although there was absolutely zero seasoning on the meat, which made it a little bland. He really liked the chili, however the to-go burger was packed in a box and was literally swimming in the chili. Like, covered up to 75% in chili and had to be scooped with a fork - there was no picking up and eating this. Slider Island, not the most appealing destination. The grilled cheese was.. meh. Cheap white bread which compacts the minute it is touched into a heavy hockey puck with processed American cheese griddled. The fries were the frozen from a bag kind and slightly undercooked (as in soggy). We liked the shake, though!

Love, love, love this place! Great food, great fun, and awesome atmosphere! If you are a true Detroiter and live Bates or White Castle then I'm sure you'll think the sliders are to die for, too! They also have wonderful milk shakes that are rich and creamy. If you love grinders/subs go check out Vinnies just down the road...they are same owners there, too :)

This place makes delicious burgers. Greasy, cheesy, onion-y goodness. They've been open for a year or two, after what seemed like years of construction. The staff was incredibly friendly and took time to explain the history of the building (kitchen area is new; dining area is an old diner that they brought from New Jersey). We went for a late lunch (1:30) on a weekday, and surprisingly, there was only one other person inside. There were lots of drive thru orders, though. Everything seems to be made-to-order, which is nice - even the drive-thru orders, so be patient.

Vinnie's is a little diner style place just off the road and across from some new stores in Canton and very easy to overlook. I was doing the turn around and decided to give it a try. It's very much a slider type burger with fries and a few other sides, but it is cooked fresh and is pretty tasty. I'm a fan already, 4 stars and I'll be back...

I like this place. A little hole-in-the-wall. The burgers( sliders ) are good, but they need to be bigger for the price that you pay for them. The fries, a good size for the money. Will I come back ? Yes, but I will order doubles. Still need a price adjustment.............

I like this place more than I thought I would. They serve a solid, real old time slider with good flavor and all the right amounts of onions, pickles, and other condiments. I've also had their chili cheese fries which were awesome! The staff are always uber-friendly, and the food is served up quick, hot, and with a smile! The front of the smallish dining area is actually a rescued diner front moved from the east coast, and the owner built the place around it. I'm glad I don't work much closer to Vinnie's than I do because It would be hard to keep me away from it during lunch hours!

Nasty greasy burgers with no seasoning. I rather go to Checkers or Rally's. The fries are not seasoned at all.

This joint has been teasing me for a year. It looked done but never opened. The bold sign announcing HAMBURGERS made me both curious and hungry. I ate here over the weekend and felt the tease was still just that. The place serves sliders, of course I am a fan of those. They also have my fave fries to ever come out of a freezer bag, crinkle cuts. Add the availability of chili and yum yum right? Wrong. The potato buns they were so careful to brag on overwhelm a single style slider. Get a double or you will be taken aback by the sheer presence of this solid type bun. The onions are plentiful but the pickle and mustard/ketchup mixed sauce is sparce. Dry, very dry, whch is what happens when a bun is so dominant. I preferred the version that was skipping cheese as well. With that bun PLUS cheese the burger is just a footnote when it should be the star of the show. Right? The fries were really under cooked, leaving them soggy and sad. The chili though was horrific. Some odd flavor really put me off. Topping it with an american single and huge thick whole circle slices of of onion was a poor choice as well. A fine dice of onion and some shreddy cheese could not have saved it but it would have made it less wretched maybe. Cute counters to eat in or quick to go. Staff was speedy and so very friendly. I was disappointed with all the food I ate though and will not return. Great idea, poor execution.

Omg their sauteed onion / onion goop! This is why I may come back. The bun: Same as a Mc Double. Didn't seem steamed, or toasted. Meat: Little chew, but hot-n-juicy. Pickles: Cold, crisp, and of the perfect portion. Onions: More please Would try again, but would go to Brays first.

  • John M.

The sliders here are perfect. Just beef, sauted onion, cheese, a little sauce, and pickles on the side... How could it be so good? I don't know, but it is. The double has a nice ratio of meat to everything else. The singles may be thin on meat for some tastes. Service is fast and friendly. Fries are crinkle cut, and not too soft or soggy. They don't offer much else, but there is one other thing to mention: they serves the best strawberry milkshake I've ever had. It's not always available, though - they only make the strawberry shake when they can get good strawberries. They hours are somewhat limited, and they are closed on Sunday.

Food is generally better than you get at one of the drive-by burger chain stores nearby. Tastey as far as greasy spoon diners go. I do not recommend families order or eat inside. Its cramped and some sleazy diner types like to hang out and talk inside. There is a drive up window. Check your order before leaving. The drive by staff seem as challenged --but friendlier--as the chain burger window staff when it comes to getting orders correct. We like the burgers, prices, and the staff but there is an illegal policy that causes us to stay away. Vinnies forces customers to buy bottled water, saying that is all they have --bottled water you must pay for. Four Years ago, I reported a Subway Franchise owner down the road in Wayne for doing that and for charging for fat-free salad dressing. Subway came down on that quick. Only Walmart Subways are allowed to violate Subway Franchise rules but then...what retailer or factory says "no" to giant Walmart? I am surprised the city hasn't come down on Vinnie's demanding people buy bottled water. That's been illegal for many, many years. A customer should wonder when an eatery breaks such a basic law, what other violations are they committing that we do not see?

A nice, pleasant and friendly alternative to the fast food joints. I stopped in for a bite after working on the yard. $2.72 for a double cheeseburger and $2 for fries is all I wanted. Tasty and filling, a basic, simple lunch counter without the frills. Do not expect much as this price point.. Its a hamburger stand. If you want to be a burger snob and be entertained go to Red Robin or 5 guys, but you know your going to pay around 20 dollars for a burger and fries at those places..

This diner is a blast from the past. Burger fries and a malt. Can't beat it. Open for lunch and dinner, closed Sundays.

My coworker and I decided to check this place out in January 2012, as it was intriguing to me. Well, the menu is simple, Burgers, Fries, Grilled cheese, Chili, Tomato soup, soda and Shakes. The burgers are sliders. By definition, sliders are small, even bite sized, and with that definition in mind, these actually run a little larger than a traditional slider. (well, in my experience) Order the double. The burger is grilled with grilled onions and cheese and placed atop a steamed bun. YUM! If you are in the mood for a messy cheeseburger, this place does it right! This is what you want if you crave a slider. Brought my husband to this place in February, and we just had a burger there last night. The fries are crinkle cut, generous and crispy. The large soda is enormous (enormous!) and the shakes are good. They won't take a credit card payment less than 8 dollars. Since I have always eaten with another and bring cash, the credit card rule does not really affect me, however given the age of small businesses failing everywhere and the interchange fee per transaction, I can see where they wouldn't want to pay a fee for a small transaction. Many small businesses have minimums, and in order to support the 3/50 initiative, we should try to do what we can. There is a credit union right next to the burger shop with an atm. Their hours are until 7pm currently, and we got there pretty close to close, and they were glad to have us. It was bustling and with the music playing it was a good vibe. Totally worth it and will likely be a regular place for us. I would mention that the entire restaurant has 'stool' seating (like a traditional hamburger stop) with counters. some may not find this suitable for them.

It wasn't too bad...service was excellent...strawberry shake excellent. The burgers though? I personally think they put entirely too many grilled onions on it. I've been spoiled with Bates burgers so I have to say I'd really only go back for that fantastic strawberry shake!

Tasty sliders and friendly service. I really can't complain about the food. The sliders were fresh, beefy and hot, with lots of grilled onions and pickles. They do use a mustard-ketchup mix here standard and I would prefer just mustard, so next time I'll know to make a special request. The crinkle cut fries were yummy and hot and my soda's size was generous. They seemed to be very busy on the early afternoon that I visited. My only complaint really was that I thought it was too pricey for what it is. I mean I'm glad their making money and all that but a cheeseburger slider cost like $1.70 I think, so my order of 2 cheeseburgers fries and a coke ended up close $9 after tip, and I wanted to eat 2 more sliders easy. Maybe I'm just cheap but that would end up being a pricey lunch. though If I end up commuting to E.M.U. I'll probably become a regular, I can't past up a slider joint when I'm hungry.

I finally was able to stop by with my girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon. We had the usual burgers and fries. The food was excellent and was exactly what I was looking for. We will definitely go back here over other places in the area (McDonald's).

I went in and grabbed what I thought was a menu from the counter, but it turned out to be a printed copy of some ridiculous anti-Obama conspiracy-theory chain email. They had copies at every seat. Now, I don't care about your politics, but please don't shove them at me when all I want is a hamburger. This was a huge turn-off for me. The food was not good. Dry burgers, soggy buns, bland chili. Cheap prices, so I was willing to forgive the cheap food, but the service was also bad. I watched them make all of our burgers completely, cooked, topped, wrapped and bagged, and then they STARTED cooking our fries in the fryer. So we sat there for another 10 min waiting for our fries while our burgers got cold. They won't give you water...you can only buy bottled water, and they make you spend over $8 if you want to pay with plastic, which is a pain if you are only getting food for one person. Cheap food for cheap prices, which might have been enough to get me to go back if it weren't for the political preaching. I won't go back. I'd recommend Ray's burgers on Canton Center just north of Ford Rd. instead. The burgers tasted way better there.

double cheeseburger: there were so many grilled onions on this thing it was disgusting. they were plastered on EACH side of the bun and shoved between the burger patties. it was a big oily ball of mess. i could have used around 96% less of them. the beef was overcooked and chewy. fries: crinkle cut, tasty. one order feeds two. atmosphere: the place is cute, i heard it was moved here from new jersey. price: right

I really like their double cheeseburger with grilled onions. The fries are ok, crinkle style. The shakes and malts are really good. Since everything is grilled to order service is slow at peak times but worth the wait. Very friendly wait staff. I would go there over Mickey D's and Wendy's any day.

Stopped in because the building draws you in. The hamburgers were awesome, a Boston cooler ( mixed Vernors and ice cream) topped off the meal. Stop in or drive through this one is going to be on my normal stop when in the area

As far as I'm concerned, if you want a REALLY good slider go to Vinnie's. Like others, I'd passed this place several times but this time I did a "uee" and went back. So glad I did. I love their burgers and fries. And like others say, if you want something else, go somewhere else. They're pretty basic here. I also disagree with the person who said it rivals Brays. I used to love Brays but since I've found Vinnie's, I'll go there over Bray's any day. To me, this is the PERFECT slider. BTW, they have a drive-through. Also forgot to mention. They are SO VERY friendly.

This place is finally open!! Seems like they have been in the building stage for about 3 years!! Just like a 50's diner inside. Kindda small with about 10 seats at the counter and a few along the windows. Pretty much just do burgers, fries, and chilli.... Drinks include shakes, malts, and pop. Drive thru is not quite open, but sure it will be very soon... Was $24.00 to feed our family of 3. Not too bad, but not cheap. Got 2 shakes, but the soft serve machine stopped working before we could get our root beer float. Overall a pretty good experiece for a new place..... I will return soon!!

Decided to try this place out after driving by one day. My kids and I tried their hamburgers, fries, and a chocolate malt. The burgers are tasty, but on the small side. Fries were good too. The malt, to me, doesn't have the same flavor I was looking for. I haven't had one for years. I think using soft serve ice cream just can't replicate the right taste. A good place to go to to get your slider fix. Friendly service.

Went here in the evening after remembering that this place had opened and looked about as inconspicuous as one could get. For me, sliders are a real comfort food; all you have to do is look at my review for Crabill's Hamburgers in Urbana, OH for that. Crabill's is the top of the slider game for me, and unless someone opens one just like it up here, I have a hard time believing anyone will ever match it, let alone top it. So what did I find with this place? I found a slider joint that does it RIGHT. They're about as close to a Crabill's burger as I can get without actually GOING to Crabill's. I got two doubles with cheese and easy on the onion - and they were seriously stellar. A dash of ketchup, salt, pepper, and a couple of those pickles they give you and there's some serious slider magic going on. The chili-cheese fries were good - the chili is obviously coney-style chili, which is more or less what I expected to see up here. A basket would be too much for me, so the roommate and I split it. My finisher was a Boston Cooler - which, unless you've lived around here for awhile, is a regional specialty: Vernors ginger soda plus vanilla ice cream, blended into a shake. Vinnie's does it with soft-serve, which is okay if a little inauthentic; despite this, the cooler turned out really good. They also do regular shakes and malts, too. Price-wise was a shade high for a true slider joint but I think their location contributes more to that than anything else. 2 double-cheese sliders, an order of fries, a soda, and a cooler came out to about $10-12 per person, which is about $3/person more than I would expect, but then again, I could mitigate that simply by not ordering the cooler ($3.39). They're a good place to go for sliders - just get there before 8 PM.

Stopped in for lunch to due to the great reviews. The place looks like something out of a time machine, which is okay for nostalgia I guess. Service is always friendly. Prices are reasonable but fries frozen crinkle cuts- don't blame me for becoming a fry snob blame five guys. burgers were okay; I prefer Brayz.

Always pass by this place when going down Michigan ave, so i decide to finally take a try. First of all, all the burgers in here are sliders. Secondly all then have is sliders, fries, chili, and shakes. Also and finally, this is a small place and probably has about 20 seats max. Now i had a double cheeseburger slider which was pretty good, and some chili cheese fries (not bad, but if you really want chili cheese fries then go down the street to L. George's). Now sliders to me are comparable to Roy's squeeze sliders. However i think Roy's (quality of meat and the toasted bread) is better than Vinnie's (who do offer different variations of the sliders and they cook their onions better). With all of that said, i would eat here again.
