Healthy Meal suggestions for Logan?s Roadhouse

Wen to Logans kind of worried because of the reviews...but I had a buy one get one free card so I gave it a try. It reminds me of the old Ground Round type of place..very casual and draws a little of the trailer trash crowd. That being said the food was pretty good for the price. The rolls were hot and fresh. My wife and I both ordered the small sirloin and it was good. To get fresh rolls, salad, a loaded baked spud and a 6 ounce sirloin for 11.00 dollars. It exceded my expectations and our server was very nice and really hustled. Fine dining it is not..but I have spent more at BigBoys. For a mid-week meal I will return.

Oh good grief Charley Brown! The food here is just pitifull. The shrimp scampi was dry and overcooked. The steak had too much gristle and not enough steak. The baked potato had been around for awhile. The peanut shell dust waffting in the air was mildly suffocating. And the staff standing around shooting the breeze and eating the peanuts was just annoying.Yes there was a manager on the floor that should have cleared out this unprofessional nonsense. But that didn't happen. Never again!

See if the 3rd steak they bring me will be right?

Well service is crap, food is the only worthwhile attracting factor here. We waited 15 minutes for our sodas, our waiter disappeared while our food waited to come to the table and our drinks sat empty.

Food was hot! Rib sauce was outstanding and quantity was remarkable. Peanut shells on the floor be damned , my Cosmo rivaled a martini bar (thanks Mike). Service was phenomenal. First time here but not the last!

This is a follow up review. (WHERE ARE MY PRIOR REVIEWS?) What has happened to this place? The food is barely acceptable anymore. I ordered chicken wings. They were barely cooked enough. A couple were dangerously close to under done. I ordered them with the regular buffalo sauce. I know they didn't forget because there was a single spoonful of sauce on the paper but absolutely none on the wings themselves. I'm not saying there wasn't enough. I'm saying I believe they intentionally didn't put sauce on them. My wife had the filet and asparagus. From a prior review I may have mentioned that we made a recommendation as to how serve asparagus so there is no fibrous part which they did not change. But worse, they were so overly seasoned that they were inedible. Additionally, they were 3 times too over cooked. The drinks were okay. Not sure why they don't garnish their drinks. It's off putting to order a $9 cocktail and have no garnish. The bar service was slooooooowwwwww. Which was interesting because there were only 5 people sitting at the bar. But there were 4 servers standing at a server station holding a pow wow. Need less servers and more bartenders. The very bright spot in this evening was the server who was terrific and came back with an adjusted bill. Thank you for that. I had previously praised this location and used it as an example for how to improve their Auburn Hills location. Sad to see what has happened. I may never go back to Logans. It used to be on the list of our regular places to eat out. MORE: Got an email from them asking for me to go to a separate site and complete a cumbersome and rather lengthy form. It was not very mobile friendly and after having completed the steps and checked all the right boxes and typed my complaint which I said read my Yelp review, I hit send and it wiped it out. Based on how the company seems to be performing, it seems clear that the root of the problem exists at the corporate level. Did it a second time and it went through.

It seems if you are seated in the middle section behind the hostess stand, you get the absolute worst service. It took almost 15 minutes before we were even greeted by the waiter, another 15 for him to bring us an iced tea and a lemonade. We ordered our food at the same time we ordered drinks since we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted before we even saw the waiter. About 10 minutes after our drinks arrived, he returned to inform me that they were out of the item I ordered (the buttermilk chicken, which is pictured in the menu). 10 minutes later, we finally received the bread that he had been saying he'd "be right back with" for 25 minutes. The food was pretty good when we finally got it. We sat around for quite a while with empty drinks. When we finished eating, he took the plates away and disappeared for 10 minutes before asking if we wanted dessert and giving us the check. All in all, it would've been a good experience had it not been for all the excessive waiting. It took nearly an hour and a half for 2 people to have a meal. Get your service straightened out!

I won a gift card at work and I could choose my own, so I selected Logans, and took my family there for dinner. To be cost effective with the card, my husband & I just got burgers, and my kids got chicken strips- the chicken strips were fine, they ate them. Our Burgers, however, hmmm..... they were super small- and I do mean small- they had no flavor at all, I was so disappointed I could've gotten better Burgers at Five Guys ( which I do like, lol). Won't be going back there again.

I'll make it very short and sweet. Sat down at 9:30 pm, order kept getting lost (our waiter stopped by every 15 minutes saying our food would be coming out shortly) until he sat down across from us at 10:25, apologized profusely and said it finally stopped getting lost and was just now put in. We got up and left.

Supposed to specialize in steak. Could of fooled me. My wife and I ordered two steaks medium well. Came out rare. Very chewy and grisly. Very bad. No intention of coming back. By the way service was bad too. I'm sorry the plaid shirts that the staff can't seem to maintain have to go. Buy them an iron and provide cleaning for them. Just my two cents.

Unique atmosphere, lots of good All-American flavor, and great steak! My first time here was one to remember, and they also have peanuts on the floor!

I almost never have a problem with service at restaurants but this one takes the cake. Our waiter wasn't the problem, the host and the management were the ones who upset us. My mother had used the bathroom for the second time and both times there wasn't any paper towel to dry her hands, she went to tell the host so they could fill it and the hosts response was "Maybe you should put a note on it.". Are you kidding? Unbelievably rude for no reason! Then once we told our waiter he brought over the manager. First off, he didn't introduce himself, he stood there and asked who wanted to talk to him. So once we told him what happened he said, "what?! Let me go talk to her and figure this all out." He never came back to our table or apologized, didn't offer us anything to compensate. I was astonished by how ridiculous this whole situation was. Texas Road House is practically the same thing but with better service so we'll DEFINITELY be going there for now on.

Was here for lunch on a Saturday with my mom. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived (noon). We were seated immediately and waters were brought for the both of us. I ordered the fried cheese and bacon burger along with a cup of loaded baked potato soup. My mom got the grilled chicken salad. Service was prompt and very friendly. The server brought me a fresh ice water without me asking for it (bonus points in my book). The soup was quite good, big chunks of potato and lots of bacon and cheese. The burger was also nicely done, although I wasn't a huge fan of their "Amazin' sauce on the burger. It was bit bit too sweet for me but the burger was big and tasty otherwise. My mom like her salad and appreciated that they put the dressing on the side. All in all it was a nice visit.

Love the food, hate the hosts. We came in with our three year old and we told max 20 minutes. I ran to guitar center and back, still not sat. After literally everyone who came in after us had been sat the host asked my name. Shame on you, especially from someone in the industry.

It's always about the same, pretty good consistent food for the money. they have specials during the week sometimes! The service can be pretty efficient mist of the time. Every now and again we get a server who bites her nails as she's checking you out at the end... Or one that continuously gives you a soda with "floaters" ..LOL.. All in you get a good meal for the money and usually when they say it's going to be a 30 minute wait for a table ; it's just normally 15 minutes or so .. Not too bad! The management seems to care if you're happy or not and they'll fix it if it's not right! Soooo I say "go for it" and try the "Logan's grilled chicken" as it has this white Parmesan peppercorn sauce and it comes on a bed of rice and you add two other "sides"!! I always get their homemade Potato chips and a loaded baked sweet potato!! My hubby loves the "roadies" or the"porkies"!!Those are three little burgers or pulled pork sandwiches!! Mmmm yummy

HORRIBLE SLOW SERVICE I sat for fifteen minutes before someone asked if I wanted a menu...and after my first time eating there, I got food poisoning. I was on my lunchbreak and became so sick I have missed the rest of my shift and the following day. When I called to speak to a manager, they didn't inquire as to what I ate, what they could do to correct the problem. Instead I get an unsympathetic "Uhhh..I guess feel better" If it were MY establishment I would identify what that person ate, immediately pull that from being served to prevent others from possibly getting sick and I also would want to compensate any customer who had a bad experience. Especially since I have lost a whole days pay due to their imcompendence. Stay away from this spot. Not worth it.

Well, we had a short wait to be seated. We ordered and it took FOREVER. After the long wait, my fried shrimp arrives to my table cold. The server did a good job for a very slow, expensive dinner. Disappointed.

I've been to Logan's Roadhouse quite a few times with mixed results. I'm not overly fond of their "Pondarosa Style" steaks, but I did come to like the specials they had for two for under 20 dollars. I would get the Salmon and my wife would get another item from the special menu and be generally happy with it. We went on a Saturday, with no specials and found everything kind of pricey for what you get and settled for some Happy Hour 50 cent wings and "Enormous" Nachos. The wings looked like they came from half grown chickens and the enormous nachos were pitiful. We might come back for the twofer special if it still exists, but we certainly won't freelance another item of the menu again. I'm down to 2 stars fro Logan's and not in any hurry to return.

Originally posted under the wrong Logan's location. Sorry for the confusion... Halloween night. I knew it was a bad idea, I blame myself. We had a coupon for buy one get one free for up to 15 bucks so we went anyway. The atmosphere is typical family dining. If you are at all allergic to peanut products do not enter as they have peanut shells everywhere on the floor. There is neon on the walls, TVs and a generic menu. I figure James can watch the Michigan game and hey I will just stick with the obvious specialty, steak. We both get steaks, he gets a ribeye and fried shrimp and I ordered a porterhouse because I have never eaten one and they say it is like a strip with a filet. I order onion petals and a salad with peppercorn on the side, he gets mac and cheese and a loaded sweet potato. We wait a longggg time. Eating lots of peanuts and overly soft rolls (aka underdone) with whipped sweet butter. Finally my salad arrives. Lots of bacon, cheese and iceberg, the dressing is super gloppy but has decent flavor. I end up passing it to tthe less picky about salads and absolutely starving James. He likes it well enough. Then we wait some more. Kids are wandering and while I can find them charming I am cranky as hell as my blood sugar is going haywire, I cannot keep eating peanuts forever people. Waiting. Waiting. Steaks, Hallelujah. Wait. James' ordered medium is actually a well done and my medium rare order is medium well on one half and well on the other. Egads. We swipe our sides off the plate and send the steaks back. The sides are fine. I like James' overly buttery and sweet version of sweet potato but the mac and cheese is boring and orange-y. My onion petals are nicely done and come with a nice zippy sauce I like. James shares his shrimp with me which are boring and overbreaded with jarred cocktail sauce dip but I am starving. We wait. And wait And wait. Seriously it is like 20 minutes for a refire??? They bring out the steaks, James is a medium rare-ish medium but he is all good with that. Better a bit under than over done. Mine is medium well on one side and medium on the other. Grrrrrr. At this point I have had it. Had it. They send the manager and he tells me he is sorry but its hard to get a porterhouse done consistently on both sides and he will refire me yet another one but it's been a bad night for this sort of thing so no guarantees. Generally warning me I will probably get yet another steak that is overdone despite the fact it's supposedly the biggest and thickest they offer and hinting this may be as good as it gets on a 22 dollar steak. Are you kidding me??? Yep I did let him have it in the most polite manner I could summon. Then asked him to box up James' steak because we needed to go elsewhere to get me a meal, he shrugged it off like 'ok then'. Did they comp our entire meal? Nope. They ended up getting us out for 11 bucks, I think half pricing James' meal and full pricing our drinks. At that point I just wanted to pay and skedaddle. We ended up grabbing burgers at Culver's around the corner and honesly that burger was ten times the value of anything offered at Logan's. I will not be back.

We came on a Friday night, was told a 15-20 minute wait so we went to the bar. First thing: the draft beer system was not working. Probably unacceptable for a Friday night. The wait was brief. We order appetizers and they came out quickly. They were clearly pre-frozen, fried and not appealing. We both ordered the sirloin/lobster tail. The lobster tail tasted like a dirty grill. The steak although cooked very well did not taste good. It is January in Canton MI but a fly was hovering around our table. Please tell me where a fly would come from. I shudder to think. The rolls although fresh and hot were underdone and doughy. Not a good experience and we will not come back. The waitress was very pleasant and deserves a better place to work. Seems like management is the issue and definitely kitchen cleanliness needs attention. Thank you.

The Sweet potato fries were amazing... Thats about all i can say good about this place. The service was slow as molasses and the food was awful. I had a logans steak sandwich and I could not even finnish eating it because it was so tough to chew.

The food here is consistently good. Logan's is just a generic resteraunt that always cranks it out in a timely fashion. There was one time that I got a bad steak, but they replaced it and the entire meal actually and gave me a steak and potato meal for me to take home for lunch the next day! They have customer service down pat!

After my first post the manager of both Logan's Roadhouse locations, gave me a call. He was very polite and listened to my concerns. We always loved this Logan's in Canton and have never been to the Logan's location in Livonia, but since both are run by the same people I do believe they are compatible. He asked if we would give it another try before giving up and sent us a coupon for part of our dinners. As I stated before, we go to Logan's for steak, I have never had chicken, ribs, or a sandwich there. We also only order the most expensive cuts no sirloin here. My daughter was with us and we ordered a filet mignon, prime rib, and a porterhouse dinner. They came to the table and everything was great! They did the brewski style correctly, were put on the proper cast iron plates, and were grilled to our liking. I am changing my earlier post and do not feel the fault was with the cooks or management, I truly feel it was the waiter. We laid our plans for our visit and made sure that if he was working we would ask for bar seating. He was not there so we sat elsewhere, we will continue to do so anytime we see him working. He seems to busy chit chatting and laughing to the point where it is just so fake and not paying attention to making sure orders are correctly done. But neither here nor there, we will avoid him in the future. We will continue to visit Logan's and feel that they have the best steaks around and if you wanted anything more you would have to dine at Lelli's or La Bistecca and pay twice as much and not wear blue jeans! We now have our favorite after movie dinner back! I would like to also say that if you go to other Logan's and do not care for them, give another a try. Franchises are purchased under different owners and can be different by location, thank you Logan's Canton you got us back!

I wasn't sure what to expect given all the bad reviews. I had been to Logans in other cities and had good experiences. I ended up getting an take out order of their Nashville Trio appetizer platter. We had several options to choose from for the platter, but ended up getting chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and potato skins. All were deep fried and delicious! The potato skins were a little thin, but were covered in a nice amount of cheese, bacon and scallions. I called ahead and had a brief wait. The person answering the phone was extremely nice and so were the host and the staff persont that brought me the food. They even tossed in a bag of dinner rolls. The place was beginning to get packed and there was a few people that had to wait. They offer a pager system, like a lot of other places. I briefly glanced at the menu (I just wanted appetizers), but they seemed to have burgers, steaks, chicken and seafood. Despite the bad reviews, I had great service and will come back again!

Great service our waitress Darcy was very attentive and very friendly. Ordered a ribeye medium rare, steak came out extremely rare & had to send it back. When I received the ribeye back began to eat it & was VERY disappointed at the amount of fat that the steak had. Bottom line, Logan's is not on our list of returns!

uhm.... no. My wife got a gift card for x-mas to this place. I don't think we would have checked out this place otherwise, and after this experience, understandably so. Note- this is based on a take out experience. The menu is pretty basic. A lot of your American comfort food options (meat loaf, chicken, steak, ribs, etc...). We thought about doing that 2 for $20 deal, but we weren't necessarily feeling the options they had to offer. My wife ended up getting the steak salad while I got the chicken tenders with a caesar salad and sweet potato fries. When we called the order in, we were quoted 10-15 minutes. So here's the rub. My wife went to go pick up the order, spotting them an extra 5 minutes just to ensure it would be ready by the time she got there. When my wife did get there, she told a host that she was there to pick up an order. Another server walked by and asked if she had been helped, again reiterating that she was there for a pickup order. 10 minutes later, a woman shows up and asks if she'd been helped. Yeah, evidently no one bothered to tell this woman (who happened to be in charge of take out orders only) that my wife was there for a pick up order. Another 10 minutes later, my wife finally gets her order. The food itself was.... what it was. The chicken tenders were surprisingly light, and the fries were ok. My wife's salad was good except for the steak. Kinda sad considering that's what they are supposed to be known for (steak, not salads). The meat was bland and overcooked. So the pick up experience and food were bad enough, but then they forgot my salad, and sauce for my wife's salad. Called the manager and told him about the whole thing. While he seemed intent on making up for the forgotten items, he completely missed the fact that my wife had to wait 20 minutes. He did say he'd comp. us free dessert or an appetizer on the next visit but I doubt there will be a follow up visit. OVERALL- yeah, not going back. Might take the manager up on his comp. offer, but past that, nada mas. Plenty of other options on Ford Road folks. CELEBRITY RATING- Bruce Jener

I'm amazed at all the reviews for good food but poor service. We had the exact opposite experience. Our waiter was pretty good, but the food was well below average. Now, the salads and bread were very good, but my steak (Logan's Steakhouse) was mediocre, my grilled shrimp was probably the worst I've ever had, and the rice was basically inedible. This was our second time here, and I will not come back without a gift card.

Previous visits were meh but last Friday we had a great date dinner with my wife. Friday night prime rib was really tasty, my wife had the cedar plank salmon which she loved. Normally not a chain restaurant person but we had a really enjoyable night out. Thanks to our waiter Michael for making it more fun.

My networking group meets here every Tuesday. They do a really nice job of accomodating our group every week. The waitress that serves us is always friendly, prompt, and respectful of the fact that we have business to take care of. I generally order food every week in order to support Logan's in light of their flexibility with us. The mesquite grilled chicken salad is really good and generally it is my go-to meal. Today, I opted for one of the sirloin steaks. I believe it was called the Logan's Cut or something like that. The steak was cooked to my liking and seasoned well. The baked potato was good as was the caesar salad. To get a 10oz steak with a baked potato and caesar salad for $14.99, I was impressed. Obviously this isn't a top-of-the-line steakhouse where you're going to drop $150 on two people, but for the price...the quality is very good.

I enjoy the food here but once again, waiting a very long time for my takeout. I've never had a bad experience dining in so I'm not sure why they take so long on carry out.
