I have been here multiple times and never had an issue until last night. The waitress was a little rude and just kind of came off as though we were bothering her. She then proceeded to tell the next table she went to "sorry they took forever" motioning to our table. We attempted to share our concerns with the manager (written down on the back of our receipt from one of my party). She seemed to care until the waitress walked over asking what was wrong. The manager immediately became condescending and somewhat rude about the whole issue. As we left the other waitresses were at the counter reading every was written and laughed. It was horrible service and uncomfortable for us as customers on multiple levels. We will not be back that's for sure.

This place was really neat. In MI they call them Coney, in New England, we call them diners. This place was packed. My BF said this was an all the time thing. So I think people like it. :) We had the chicken tenders and an Oreo milkshake. It was great! Service was great.. I don't recall our servers names but she was real nice and was on top of it all!

After being a customer for most of my life, I will not be going back. Star Light has gotten very dirty inside. There was literally feces on the bathroom floors (both men's and women's). After eating I had explosive diahrea.

This place gives dives a bad name. Just say no. Greasy food, slow service, being leered at by weirdos and the drunks after the bars close. Yikes. They don't call it "Starlight, start a fight for nothing." Just ask the cops. Oh, and I saw two people having sex in a car in the parking lot...

Love the blueberry pancakes!!! The coney dogs are as close to the original Flint Coneys that you will find. Being open 24 hours a day, it's no surprise to find this place busy at all times of day and night. Service is pretty good...always full when I leave.

This is the definition of good diner food and atmosphere. The coffee, coneys, milkshakes and all fried things here are great. My grandparents used to love coming here, and they even have a drive thru! All of waitstaff is awesome. Those sassy ladies really give the environment a comfortable, family feeling. The prices are awesome - speaking as someone who came here countless times while in high school and in college with friends, we always ate very well on our meager budgets! It's a 24 hour diner too, and I hear it can get VERY busy after the bars close on weekends! ;)

I think Starlite is the best Coney in Flint, but keep in mind I'm not a Flint native and have never been a fan of the local cuisine, Coney dogs. I don't care how a Coney dog is made (Flint or Detroit) I think they're kinda gross. What I like about Starlite is the breakfast skillets, shakes, and sandwiches. They are the best place to go after the bars close, when you don't care at all about the nutritional value of what you are about to consume. When I am back to visit this will be one of the first places I go out to eat at.

This is the best place for late night grub. The starlight burger or big Sicilian are cheap greasy and amazing. Everything here is just as good sober or drunk depending on the time of day.

Supposedly, the best coneys in Flint. My first ever visit. I was very excited. As usual, ordered a cup of joe, 2 with everything, and a side of fries. Coneys were made with Koegel's dogs, traditional Flint-style coney sauce, on a steamed bun with mustard and diced onions. It was excellent. The place was crazy busy and the coffee was god-awful. It was everything I expected. That's check #2 on my coney quest...what an adventure!

We eat here as opposed to Mcdonalds or any other crappy fast food place. Great burgers, Great staff. If you like truck stop type restaurants, This place is top notch.

"My" Flint Coney Island. Food: Starlite is a full-menu diner but, for most residents of Southeast to Mid-Michigan, that means it is a Coney Island. As such, Starlite features excellent Flint-style Coneys and a *very* good burger. The diner shines above others in town, though, because of its malt and the hand-battered onion rings. For some odd reason, Starlite offers two kinds of onion rings - frozen and hand-battered - so be sure to specify that you want the good stuff. Service/Atmosphere: Again, standard Coney service but much more pleasant. The restaurant was remodeled within the past few years, but constant griddling and a throng of patrons have already given it a well-worn patina. Like most others of its kind, Starlite is open 24 hours and also features a drive-through.

What can I say? Starlite continues to rock! They have been an institution in Flint since 1966. I was the star 2nd baseman for their first little league baseball team that same year so I AM a bit biased lol. You will see all sorts of people eating here. My wife and I had a wonderful value priced breakfast this past week and also enjoyed some pleasant conversation with others sitting at the counter. We will return!

Have not been back here in a few years. Grew up in the Flint area and we used to come here all the time. Things have not changed much. Old 50s style diner with the BEST Coney Dogs on the planet! Had my fill until next time and love this place.

Fast friendly service. They offer killer specials for breakfast and lunch. Kids get awesome choices and special price if you are 12 and under

Nice 24 hour place to grab a bite. Breakfast is great. Building is aged and decor is a little beat up/old, but it's still a good place to grab some food anytime of the day.

Certainly the last of the great coneys in Flint. Burger Street is the only one that comes close. Breakfast is a greasy comfort feast. Lunch and dinner are good entrees and very reasonably priced. One of my faves is their "Working Man's Special" -- stop in and give one a try!

I recently had the "Famous Starlite Burger" and it was AWESOME! When I travel I like to find restaurants that have been visited by TV shows like "Man Vs. Food", "Diners, Drive Inns and Dives", etc. One time I was in Austin, TX and stopped in at Anne's Burgers where Adam Richmond from Man Vs. Food had once visited for one of his shows. That burger was off the charts. The "Famous Starlite Burger" is right up there with that burger from Anne's. Wow!! Mouth watering!!

Definitely the place to go on the weekends after the bar...although it can be a little rowdy and they have security walking the premises. 24 hours of fried yumminess, cheeseburgers, coneys and breakfast..it gets the job done and you leave full. The waitresses are just sweet as can be and get your food out fast. They do have a drive through for your convenience which has come quite handy after work cravings and don't want to leave my car..now this is why I give a 4 star though, when getting drive thru fries are always soggy but when eating them inside they're fine..I'm soo picky about my fries. The other thing is the dble cheeseburger comes out super greasy and soggy...so if I want their oh so freaking good dbl cheeseburger and fries Ill dine in. But other than that service is great and food is too. When in Flint visit Starlite its great! Oh yea they're breakfast is awesome!

I love Starlite. It's a normal haunt for after the bar, with a lively crew no matter what time of the day. Open 24 hours a day, you can find just about anything you would expect at a Coney Island. Coney's are the best in Flint (as a resident I can attest that I have tried this out and it s true!) If you are looking for a breakfast fix, the omelettes are great and this is the only place in the area where you can get breakfast skillets (trust me, you want one). It is also served 24 hours a day, and I am a 2 am breakfast eater. Always an entertaining visit, there really much downtime when they aren't busy. Well worth a visit.

I came to Starlite Coney Island on a Saturday afternoon after visiting Birch Run. The place is an oversized diner. It has very inexpensive prices and the food was very good. Given the price, (Mushroom 'n Swiss Burger for less than $5, maybe even less than $4, without fries), it's a very very good value. My bill for a burger (single patty), coney island chili fries and a drink was less than $10. Where can you get a meal like that for less?

Stopped in last night. Whats going on? Slow slow slow service, the owner stands behind the counter watching his staff zoom back and forth, never venturing out into the public. "Hey how about a refill over here?" The coffee tasted hours old. I hate to see on of my favorite spots slowly kill its self

I was on a business trip and got in real late in Michigan. My colleague and I was starving and asked our hotel where we can get some food. The only place that the front desk recommended was Starlite Coney Island. Once we got there the place was filled with munching college students. I think I got the Italian Deli sandwich. That was awesome, and dirt cheap. I can see why these college students came here for late night munchies. The lady that served me was also real nice. She gave me a little history of the restaurant.

Greasy spoon at its best! Its a little rough around the edges, but that's what you'll love about it. Is there a good chance you'll be call sweetheart and hon? Yes! Will you see some strange characters? Probably. Its a great place place to go after a night out. I love the fried mushrooms and the farmers omelet. Really though, there food is great and their prices are awesome too. Oh and ask if they have homemade onion rings, they aren't always available, but well worth it if they are. The VERY best in the world!!

Flint Town staple! Why 4 stars? Because based on Coney Islands in the area this is sittin' pretty. Based on all restaurants I've been to before it's piss weak but let's stick to what it is and not what it is not. It's late. Where ya gonna go. BAM! Starlight is open and the crazy neon stars on the sign are gonna lure your drunk swerving ass into the parking lot anyway so just go with it. Greasy? Hell yea it's greasy. Cheap? Roger that. So quit yer bitchin' and order up 2 already. If you're lucky you'll see some of Flint Town's finest drama. If you're not so lucky you will be the center of it.

Thank you Starlite for putting up with my drunken friends' strange food orders at 3 am!

It's late, your hungry and everything is closed. When Mickey D's Taco Bell and that King guy just won't do. Try Starlight, it's pretty good.

This place has great food. The Farmers breakfast is great and will fill you up all day. It's a great deal too for less than 7 bucks. Like another review said the pancakes are the best around so make sure to get some. With most meals you can sub the toast or some side for a pancake. Good way to go if you don't want a whole stack.

Stopped in here for lunch today, had a Groupon, notice the recurring theme? This is one of the Flint area's old school coney islands. The place was packed with a constant stream of customers. We ordered fish and chips, a Sicilian sandwich and a salad to share. The fish and chips were ok, served with a side of coleslaw and fries. My sandwich came highly recommended by our server. It consisted of shredded turkey and ham, salami, tomatoes and lettuce on a ciabatta bun with the secret sauce. It was pretty good and also came with fries. The marinated chicken salad in an edible bowl was ok, nothing to write home about. The service was excellent and quick with attention to detail. The food was fresh and well prepared. We would definitely return. They have a work man's special a cheeseburger, coney dog, fries and a coke for $5.99.

I wasn't very impressed with this place. It was loud, crowded, dirty, and the food was just meh. There were flies everywhere that kept landing on me as I tried to eat..this bummed me out. The food...ugh, I ordered the 2 piece cod with fries. I cut open the first piece and it was riddled with orange goo. It looked like cheddar cheese was melted inside it. I'm hoping it was just the batter that didn't get cooked all of the way (I didn't eat this piece). I cut open the second piece and it was fine and the fries were nothing special. I pretty much just at those and the coleslaw. My bf got the coney special and seemed to be satisfied with his meal. I guess you can't really go wrong with that tho. l won't be back here anytime soon.

I'm somewhat of a pancake connoisseur and these are THE best pancakes I've ever had. You wouldn't know it just looking at them, but you'll know it when you eat them.

I have to admit I was skeptical given it is a Coney Island, but wow.. Impressed! Was packed when we arrived, so three of us grabbed a stool at the bar. With great fast service we ordered a piping hot DELICIOUS breakfast! The bill was under $25 and everyone was happy, couldn't have asked for anything else. Will return for sure!
