Where does one begin with a coney island in the heart of Birmingham? The waitress seemed disinterested at best. Serving size was paltry for a Coney Island. Please avoid this business.

Came here to quell some post-movie hunger. Leo's seems like a pretty normal American diner with Greek food influences, but they do have something awesome - flaming cheese in saganaki. When it comes to your table, the waiter will dump a small cup of alcohol onto the cheese and proceed to light it on fire in front of you, accompanied by an "Opa!" Ours was done very unenthusiastically by a waitress with a very bored facial expression and a flat opa. We forgive her though, since by then it was 11pm and we were probably the hundredth saganaki that she had to deliver that day. The cheese came with some cold pita chips, and was pretty greasy. Also ordered the stacked fries, which were a big disappointment. Definitely something I would have enjoyed immensely if I had imbibed some more, but unfortunately I was too sober to see them as anything more than cold cheese and lukewarm chilli on top of clammy fries. Definitely a good late night stop!

What a pleasant surprise and even at 230AM. Waking into the Leos there was a huge board of specials that I have not seen featured at any of the other locations. Waffle Fries - which you have the option of loading up with chili and cheese Chocolate Lava Cake Fried Pickle Spears - which is what i went with and really enjoy! I even think i liked them better when they were a bit cold. Clam Fingers My friend got a grilled cheese pita - which she ate quickly and exclaimed it was so good she'd have 5 more The lemonade is my favorite at Leos Noting on my previous post - the place was spotless and under control.

Bleck. We ended up here after an amazing visit to the Cranbrook Art Museum. I wish we had just kept driving. The server was nice and the salad was okay. That's the only props I can give this place. My chicken kebobs were dry and flavourless. The tzatziki was instant gut raunch. My bro ordered a taco salad that arrived without a key component -the beef. Either way, this meal had him racing for the toilet a mere twenty minutes later. Clearly this food was a little suspect.

Since I work in Birmingham and this place is walking distance...., I have experienced this place a bit too much, it seems it is where everyone around my office wants to get carry out for lunch. A safe menu item would be the gyro.... the regular one, not the chicken. The chicken they serve has been long cooked on their grill waiting for an order to the point that the outside layer is more satisfying to the tastes of a chicken jerky affectionado. You may be at a higher risk of chocking on your chicken if you choose to order it from Leo's! The second warning I have is in regards to the perpetual short hair in my omelette... this is just nasty, it is not ON the omelette to be confused with any possibility it is from my own person. No, the hair is always partially cooked into the omelette. I have simply had enough.

I have no idea why anybody goes here. The food is bland, over cooked and generally just not good. Salad dressing is tasty though. The lemon rice soup one day is water with a squirt of lemon..The next day it's thick as concrete. Save time, energy ..Go to Greek Islands instead.

Great late night eats...fast prompt service with a smile...plus the entertaining shenanigans of the high school crowd.

Service is hit or miss but always fast. Food is pretty typical of a coney island. Bonus star for being open 24/7, this is where I have come every night I sneak out of the house at 2 a.m. with my friends. And it's never crowded to the point where there are no tables let, so we can sit in our booth for literally four hours and never get kicked out. Just don't come here at 2 a.m. the night before Thanksgiving. Biggest bar night of the year, we couldn't even get in the place and all of the waitresses were freaking out

Ordered a carry out here, and was pleasantly surprised given some of the negative reviews. As a native Detroiter, and just recently moving back to MI, I had to order a coney-was delish! I should have ordered another. The restaurant was very clean and the service was very friendly. On my way out, I saw something be served flaming, table side--I had to ask what it was. An employee informed me that is was "Saganaki" (flaming goat cheese). Goat cheese + flaming = I must come back for this! So happy this place is 24/7 too! Win all around :-)

This was my 1st time getting food from Leo's. I ordered breakfast for my family during the week from Leo Coney Island. We ordered 2 breakfast specials w/ eggs over medium n 1 w/ no ham w/ rye toast; the other w/ wheat. I ordered a vegetable omelette w/ chicken n spinach added; along w/ the hash browns cooked inside w/ American cheese inside n on top of my omelette n wheat toast. Leo's is about 6 min from me, but it is conveniently located right next to Beaumont Hospital n right off of Woodward n 13 mile. When I got there the place was packed it was around lunchtime. The pickup counter is n an awkward location n the back of the restaurant. But it's easy enough to navigate. My order was ready for me to pickup n 15min. It was correct n hot when I got it home. For 3 orders I spent a little over $20, which wasn't bad. Only thing I would suggest is that they put a menu on a website for people who don't have menus or are 1st time customers. Also the cashier was nice n courteous. This is definitely a great place to take the family or order takeout. There numerous selections outside of breakfast. However I wouldn't recommend this place for a meeting it's a little noisy. But everything else is great.

Had no idea it was open 24/7... Went here after a concert tonight. Leo's is usually my favorite of the coney island chains, the food was fast and fresh. Only weird thing was I ordered the grilled chicken without a bun and it came in chunks instead of a patty or whatnot, but still tasted good. Love their curly fries ("seasoned twister fries") here too.

My favorite of the metro Detroit coney island chains. I miss this place and wish I got to it more regularly. Perhaps the nostalgia leads to an extra star. It's clean and it's quick and has everything you want. Greek salad- yes. Coneys- yes. Michigan salad- yes. Breakfast - yes.

this place is a joke. If this was the only place in the world to receive any type of food, I might as well starve due to the wait staff never making it to the tables. The service at this one in Birmingham has always been extremely under par. I ate at this restaurant one night, seated myself and my friend. I had to go up to the kitchen (where everybody was standing) and ask for our drinks. I returned to the table, and saw the drinks sitting on the counter. Walked up again and picked up the drinks. Nobody came to the table to take our order.

There are a handful of things I miss since moving away from my hometown in Michigan, and Coney Island is one of them... I think Detroiters take it for granted that there are Coney Islands all over the place... Whenever I go home to Michigan, I make sure to have at least one meal at a Coney Island, and the last couple of trips home, I've gone to Leo's. There's something about the fresh Greek Salads and their special dressing that I love so much. This Birmingham location's ambiance is nothing special, nor is their service, but their crisp Greek Salad and warm pita bread is the perfect lunchtime meal. (Not to mention, a medium size is plenty and it's just $5.49) - such a deal! Leo's - if you're looking to expand, please open up shop in Scottsdale - I'll promise to be a loyal customer.

I was there for one and half hour on Monday (9/16/13) early hours drinking coffee as I like to do home work early hours. Waitress comes and tells me "I can not stay all night long and use internet and just drink coffee and I must order for every 1 hours, then changes it to every 30 min" I was only there for 1:30 min, not all night long. She is in her early 30s or late 20s speaks on phone in foreign language, rude person and never comes to ask for refill of the coffee. Rest of the staff her curteous, the young people who work there are very nice and manager is very nice. If this rude waitress is there, I will go to different place, will never get a coffee from her again.

Went there for dinner monday feb 25 after 9 pm. Food was ok, but service was crab. The server had an attitude and refilled our coffee only once, and never brought or offered water. She brought the check before we were done ordering. Don't bother going there unless you are in a pinch.

The reason why I'll give this place 4 stars is because for some reason, every time I go there, there is a parking spot open RIGHT in front of the door. I am a huge fan of that. Their pitas and chicken fingers salad are my favorites, and the fact taht they're open 24 hours Thursday - Sunday is another perk. Sometimes the crowd is a bit much, but it usually isn't as drunk or rowdy as the crowd in Royal Oak.

I've been here a few times this past month. The service is always quick. I'm a french fry junkie and their fries are always hot and crispy. I love their gyros. Greek salads always include kalamata olives. Even "Greek Island" down the street skips those. I've read others complaints about it being dirty. I didn't experience that at all. Waitress always comes by to refill drinks. They even let us park our folding bikes next to our table. This is our goto place when we want a quick, no frills meal. Perfect grub for after a full day of working on the house.

    (4)

Place is a staple and has solid food at a great price. Love the Greek salad of course, but everything is very good. Not sure why Greek Islands get so many better reviews. They're basically the same.

Ok I refuse to eat inside of this joint because it makes me ill! BUT they have amazing chili- I moved to Florida and we dont have coney islands down there- the other night I rolled into town I didn't even stop at home first it was like 1:30 am and ran in got a cup of chili and it was heaven! But like we all know being from the D national and lafyette is the best! In a pinch leo's will do!!

i'm from out of town and people know it when i come here. i guess i look/dress/talk different from the citizens of birmingham. even though i'm not even 15 minutes from birmingham it is a very different place, indeed. anyways. i can't go there without being stared out. and people don't stare, they STARE. not sure what it's about. from my profile picture i wouldn't say i'm THAT ugly? the servers are somewhat nice. i watched them kick out a bunch of kids because they were being loud. they'd probably have a more disgruntled reivew than i would. oh and then i got sick off their food. all four of us did. i deem that as not a coincidence. and i know the people of this leo's can't help it but i don't know what everyone's staring problem is. i'm not sure what is supposed to be done about that but it makes me uncomfortable as hell. the local coney i go to every week doesn't do that. maybe i just fit in better there/ they know me. i don't like being stared at while i'm eating. maybe it's just me.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
