You can't go wrong with Mike's way! (The works -lettuce, onion, tomato, salt, pepper, mayo, red vinegar, oil and spices). They offer a free regular sub and 22 ounce soft drink on your birthday. You just have to sign up for their email prior to. Oh, and you also have to show them your ID and this offer is only valid ON your actual birthday. And even if it's not my birthday and I have to pay for the sub, I WOULD TOTAL DO IT because these sandwiches are phenomenal. The workers cut up your deli meat and build your sub in front of you! The service is fast, but-- if you have a short lunch break, I recommend calling ahead. The line gets pretty long during their lunch hour and the staff works diligently to ensure you get your meal as fast as possible. Five stars.

Having been back since my first pretty abysmal experience, I wanted to point out that I've returned and had a better experience, but that's mainly due to the General Manager who was genuinely unhappy that I'd had an experience like I did. He went way out of his way to make me feel welcomed back, and yes: he gave me a free meal when I did. The meal I had was certainly better than the previous one, but nothing about it was really game-changing in any way. They're the Hot New Blonde on the street apparently, and it's exciting to see a new face, yes...but I still don't quite get the allure of the food at all. It's fair at best. Still: it's fair to say that the GM cares about your experience, and if you bring things to their attention, they will do their level best to make things as good as they can. In the end, I don't expect any more of people and places than that. It's just that I want to eat food that I consider to be better quality, and as much as I want to believe that they can provide it, I just can't get there with JMS. Certainly a viable contender for the Subway crowd. No one can convince me that they're not trying to be a good alternative.

Honestly people!?!? It's called JERSEY Mike's. So the standard by which to judge it is a New Jersey sub shop. Now from y'all's comments, I am going to bet most of you never been to Jersey. You don't order a chicken parm hoagie. You don't go in looking for soup. You don't expect to have it grilled. And you absolutely do not complain about processed meats! Any of those moves would get you tossed out and banned from most sub shops in Jersey. So those with negative reviews, trust me, you don't belong there in the first place. The Original Italian is the way to go. Very good version of an east coast hoagie. Only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the bread, which is not authentically italian, like it would be in Jersey. Work on sourcing real italian bread from an italian bakery on the east side.

My first thought was, "Great. Just what we need. Another sub shop." But after trying Jersey Mike's, these subs do standout. The sliced to order meats and cheeses, the fresh bread, fresh shredded lettuce, and the oil/vinegar/seasonings, really do make these subs stand out from the sub shops on every other corner. I've been to the Woodward locations twice, and my only complaint has been with the attitude of the young lady taking our order and slicing the meats. She seems to have a nasty attitude and makes you feel like she doesn't want to be there, and doesn't necessarily want you there either... and she appeared to be training someone yesterday. Everyone else has always been pleasant. gives off a nasty vibe

Pretty decent sub shop. This restaurant is clean and the staff are quick and friendly. I like that you can see them slicing the meat for your sandwich right when you order -- it at least gives the impression that it's fresher than other places that have pre-sliced deli meat. The bread is nice, but I wish it had more of a bite on the crust. I like the Italian-type subs here better than those at Jimmy John's. This place seems a bit pricey. My 7" Jersey Shore favorite sub, one of the cheapest ones, was $5.45. 7" subs could run as much as $7.45 if I remember correctly. You're paying for a better product than the other super cheap places, though. The parking situation isn't that bad, honestly -- just park behind the building and enter through the back.

Glad this place opened up because our area was in desperate need of a good sub shop. A place with fresh ingredients and solid sized sandwiches. I've been here several times already and each time I've gotten great service and tasty food. The italian sub, Mike's way, with banana peppers is my go-to. I also love their pop selection: Pepsi + Dr. Pepper. FTW! I even came here about 15 minutes before close one night after a late evening working and they were happy to take care of me. Most places will give you grief about coming in that late and I even asked if it was cool... "Of course it is!" was the response I received. The only obnoxious aspect of Jersey Mike's is their location: there is minimal parking. Especially on the weekends when Original Pancake House has their usual mob of people. Other than that, if you are looking for a hearty sub with fresh meat, cheese, and veggies this is your spot. And don't forget a Dr. Pepper too!

I took my girl here for her first visit to Jersey Mike's and she loved it. She's really not a fan of sketchy deli meat like Scrubway uses, so the fact that she enjoyed her turkey sub so much is a nod to their standard of freshness and quality. Aaron was our sandwich maker and the GM for this location. He was really friendly and asked us all about our weekend plans. I'm beginning to think that the friendly questions are part of their business model since I got the exact same questions at the John R location. Either way it's a good model. The food is totally legit, the store is clean and bright and even a little beachy feeling with all the boardwalk décor. I feel like this is a far better option than Subway and I'm even a little more partial to Mike's than I am Jimmy Johns. I had the Philly this go-around and it was uber cheesy, the meat was thin and nicely grilled with the onions and peppers. And if I'm not mistaken the peppers were pickled. I'm a fan so I'm glad these are popping up everywhere.

I went to the Birmingham location to check it our. Awesome! All the staff were super friendly, helpful and NO attitude. The sandwiches were very fresh. I added all the fixin's and a regular sized sandwich was more than enough for a meal. I'm sold.

Damn good sub place. Reminds me of Jersey Giant in Lansing, which has no equal. Major difference is this place also has hot subs. Give it a shot if you like Jimmy Johns and don't like Quiznos, Tubbys, etc. It's a tad expensive, which is why it didn't get five.

This place really blew me away. I decided to try it out randomly after running a few errands and was immediately impressed by the friendly and courteous staff. As I'd never been there before, 3-4 of them walked me through how the ordering process works, what comes on which sandwich, etc and their recommendations. I ended up going with the #13 Italian made "Mike's Way" which was fantastic- truly one of the best Italian subs I've had in a long time. Overall, this place rules and I will for sure be making a return trip soon.

First try and I was underwhelmed. Very few choices. No soup options. Meat was freshly sliced but skimpy. No need to return. Portobello bests them hands down.

My husband and I saw the business on Fox2 Detroit today and had to try it. It was worth the drive. I love the freshness and the fact they slice the meat and cheeses when ordered. Reminds me of home back in East Syracuse,NY. We went to the one in Waterford, MI on M59.

This sub shop looked pretty clean and the service was nice the sub itself was ok reminded me of jimmy johns, my problem was about an hour after eating here I became super sick, doubtful I will ever try them again.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Tables are usually dirty and the quality varies pretty greatly. By far and away the worst value of all the sandwich shops . $14.00 for a large sub is crazy. I got the regular sized Reuben and happened to see them place the pastrami on the grill with an equal amount of kraut. I asked how much meat they use because it looked like only a few slices. 4 oz. of meat on an $8.00 sub. Too much wet kraut and they don't grill the bun which leaves you with a soggy sour kraut sandwich. I really recommend you skip this place . Many other options near by that offer a considerably better value for the money.

We (or rather, the Chef-Husband) have been waiting patiently for this location to open. Granted, we're spoiled with multiple sandwich shops up and down Woodward, but he'd been hearing about this one for a while. Choosing to skip over the "grand opening," we instead hopped in on a cold windy Sunday night. Fair warning, parking is extremely tight, and if they're busy, you're screwed. We were lucky and got a spot right out front. Walking indoors you're greeted with a friendly "HEY HOW YOU DOIN'?!?" sort of like Jimmy Johns. There appeared to be plenty of seating, and we were lucky enough to skip right up to the ordering point in line. Our first quibble...oh it's LOUD!!! So loud to the point that I couldn't hear half of what the (very nice) gentleman behind the corner was asking my husband, and even my hubs had to ask him to repeat a question or two. I'd imagine that working there might result in tinnitus fairly quick. The ordering process is most similar to Potbelly's, where you pick out your basic sandwich, which is built and then the condiments are applied at your request. I ordered a #6 (Roast Beef, but no Provolone please) and my husband ordered a Jersey Shore's Favorite. Thank God they cheerfully obliged when my husband asked that they slap my declined cheese onto his sandwich since mine cost $2 more than his off the bat. The bread was very tasty (but no option for toasted), as was the plentiful meat, but our overall impression was just...ehh. By no means would I pass this store over in a pinch but, with my go-to Potbelly's down the street, I won't make this my first-stop-shop either. Price: For a #2 and a #6 = $13.67 out the door. Ambiance: Very clean and tidy, also a very convenient location, except for... Parking: Oh HELL NO. Have fun with that if they're busy. Taste: Yep yep, very tasty just...unremarkable. Service: Very friendly and quick, no complaints there.

Visited the new location in Troy. Probably the freshest sub I've ever had. The turkey and salomi was delicious. Their bread was "bakery" fresh. Literally. As if it just came out of the oven ~ delicious. I'll be going back to try their different subs. And as a bonus the people were very friendly!

This place rocks!!! If you're looking for one of the best Philly cheese steak subs this is the place. Oh, yes they have other subs as well. It's a well run store and management goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Little-known fact, the guy who started the chain was only 17 and legally couldn't even operate the meat slicer.

The chicken on our chicken parm sandwich was extremely freezer burnt and rubbery--not edible.

Terrible terrible terrible!!!! Got a chicken parm sub and it tasted like it ha MSG written all over it! My boyfriend got the veggie wrap soaking wet, not to mention it tasted like it was wrapped in plastic for the past week! The service may have been even worse!!! Everyone was so rude and place alone made you feel uncomfortable. I will never be back! I much rather go to a jimmy johns or pot bellys right down the street and save a couple bucks.
