As a kid, the tv show Cheers formed my mental image of what adult life would be like. So, now I have spent my life looking for the Cheers bar without ever quite finding it. So far this has been the closest. Older crowd, yes, but always a friendly atmosphere. And, some yummy drinks on the menu. Another benefit is that I sometimes like to go to a bar with a notebook to find writing inspiration and this is the best place to do it. This not to say that others' comments about it being full of cougars, viagra-poppers, and people who leave with those they did not come in with aren't true. Actually, what I'm saying is that those things are true.

This place is closed, no? Has incredible potential to be an upscale bar/lounge.

A group of friends headed to Edison's for a Saturday night out... But found out they're closed when we arrived. Hostess and wait staff at 220's didn't really have a lot of answers as to why it was closed, but nonetheless, check if it's open before heading here.

I'm still not sure what to make of this place but it was entertaining to say the least. We were at 220 and heard the music in the basement and decided to grab a night cap here...I'd never been, while I had been warned what I was in store for. The staff here is wonderful, the clientele not so much. I felt like the older gents here had very little manners and they were kind of rude pushing their way through people standing at the side tables...lest I forget the onslaught of GAP like dad jeans and black leather jackets. Let's just say it was an interesting venue. It's a borderline hook-up bar but with really strong and really really pricey drinks. The cover band that was there wasn't helping make the experience any better but at least once the drinks kicked in they were a little easier to listen to. That said, I feel like this place is a cross between Boogie Fever, a cocktail lounge and some kind of dive bar...I've gotta bring some people here to check it out so I'll likely be back. I can say that it looked like everyone who had been there awhile was having a blast so I'll just have to come earlier next time.

Came here for NY's Eve and had a great time. They had a live band that had a great guitar player and a really good singer, a dance floor and no cover charge. Drinks are expensive here - but hey - live music & no cover. Before midnight they handed out top hats for the guys & tiara's for the ladies. Danced the night away, the band counted down at midnight - a good time was had by all.

Upscale cocktail bar that serves an older clientele pricey drinks and good music. The band that performed the night I was there expertly played a bunch of jazz and soul standards that were mix of slow dance and more lively dance numbers. The area is very walkable, so once you are finished with drinks, a nice stroll around downtown B-Ham awaits.

Minus the expensive drinks ($6 miller lite) this place is always fun! They usually have bands on The weekends and they are typically pretty good. If u can score the round table facing the dance floor & there is a band & your with your friends it's almost guaranteed fun!

Nice little "dive" in the middle of Birmingham. The get pretty good bands there to pllay. The drinks are good but pricy! It can get packed in there and getting a table is not easy sometimes. I love the people watching there. Watching the cougars hunt their prey on the dancefloor is a great night out!

This is a great place to go to see some local live talent (bands, singers, etc) and grab a drink. It has a real old town feeling - it is in the basement (with a separate side entrance) of the 220 restaurant. The drinks are priced well and are comparable to other places in birmingham. It is just a fun place to people watch, dance a little and enjoy a cocktail. I would recommend this for an after work/dinner drink stop. You will be happy to stopped by.
