Fran O’brien’s Maryland Crabhouse

Fran O'Brien's is a Great place for a seafood meal. The big booths in the back can fit 6 adults comfortably or a combination of adults and children. For larger groups they can put tables together in a couple of places. We've taken as many as 10 and been comfortable. The Bartender and wait staff has been working there for years and get to know what you like and don't like and treat you like family friends. Dan, the Owner, is also generally there mixing with the crowd, busing tables and helping the staff. During the Stone Crab season, Fran's make them just like Joe's in Miami Beach. And during the Summer they have lobsters flow in from the East Coast regularly. And from the daily fresh catch, my Wife and her Mom love the Blackened White Fish. Generally meals come with either a salad or chowder. We sometimes get both and when we get the chowder we get the mixed which is a little spicier. And the bread is great and goes very well with their wonderful mussels.

DELICIOUS! The yogurt was amazing and they have all sorts of flavors to choose from. There are so many I want to try, I have to go back...for sure! I was very impressed with the friendly people and atmosphere. A friend of mine told me about this place, and I drove from Hartland to try it....well worth the drive and very reasonably priced!!
It was a chilly below zero degree kind of night, but the Californian girl in me really wanted froyo...a quick yelp search and I found this hole in the wall in a strip mall! Their froyo was one of the best I've had. I had the cake batter and strawberry cheesecake flavors and they were amazing!!!! I tried the coffee as well, it was great, if I had been in a coffee mood def would have gotten it. They have mini tasting cups by the froyo machine and you can try as many flavors as you want. Great selection of toppings as well. Overall, great experience!!
Love this place and they always have buy one get one coupons. Fresh ingredients and good yogurt flavors

Owner is super, super nice. Pretty much the whole family works here it seems. They have a punch card for every time you grab coffee (and maybe food as well?). after about 6 punches you get a free coffee or snack. The food is also great (I have tried the chili and sandwhiches) and I get the sense that this owner is all about quality over just making money. Every desert I have had so far is delicious! They also have a sign out front that changes daily, offering a free coffee to whomever's name is listed that day. Stop here for some coffee and then head to the den to study, or grab a haircut at the edge
Stopped in for the first time last week! Such a gem! They roast the Great Lakes coffee company. They made it as a pour over and it was delicious! I grabbed a couple of their specialty cupcakes. I took down a star because I felt like the little cafe menu was priced slightly high for what's offered, and I wish they had more of a treat variety, they only had 2 types of cupcakes when I was there. They do have ice cream, and other treats, I just wish it was more of a defined variety. I will becoming a regular there to try different goodies they bring out!
Had chicken salad sandwich and a scoop of cherry amaretto fudge ice cream and it was all amazing!

The food is excellent, best omelette in town. Great variety and prices are reasonable. The owner and staff are helpful and friendly. If your staying in the area it's a great place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Brad M. is a hater. OMG there were kids at the diner!!! Get over yourself, Bradley. This place is great. The staff is friendly, the service is quick and the food tastes great. The menu is substantial, and there is tons of variety. Definitely give this place a shot if you're staying at one of the hotels nearby. It's well worth the walk. I'll give it 5 stars, just to counter Brad's crabby ass review.
A great diner. The waitresses try their best to be friendly and quick, the menu has some great choices on it, and the food comes to your table hot and tasty. Most of the time when I'm on trips we eat at more formal restaurants, however this was a crossed from my hotel and I thought I would give it a try, I wasn't disappointed. This is a great diner for a casual dining experience and great food.

Fine looking deli in Downtown Auburn hills plenty of seating, and a lot of choices on the menu, all subs are 6.70 they have triple Decker sandwiches, calzones, pizza, burgers, salads and dinner items on there menu. Well was it worth the wait(15 min a take out) calzone w pep, ham, green p, 10$ : it was great very happy ate the hole thing, but?? not fully satisfied,, 10$ it needed a little more or 1$ off. Can't go 4 would go 3 1/2 but can't. Go again y.
If you are unsure Go with the calzone. You can watch them make the dough. Pizza was ok, not terrible but, not our favorite either. Read some reviews we thought the staff was friendly and helpful. We were told the place is Under new management. We had a good experience overall.

Never have I eaten inside, instead I always do carry out. Always friendly on the phone and I when I come in to pick up food. I usually get the Philadelphia Roll and Sunday Morning roll and if I am feeling it, the Miso Soup. Very good! Not crazy pricey and very good. I used to go to Tokyo Sushi across from OU and wow Makimoto is SO much better! The sushi tastes much fresher than Tokyo Sushi. Miso soup is pretty good as well but the sushi is what keeps me going back.
I've been to several sushi places in the northwest suburbs and this is still by far the best. I get carry out every week or two, as it's just off I-75 on my way home from work. A few weeks back I ordered my usual spicy rolls and added a random AAC for my wife...which they charged but forgot to include. She was bummed but they were happy to add it onto my next order for free. I've been here dozens of times and that was the first and only time that has happened, and they handled it well. I typically order a spicy white tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and then either spicy cali roll or spicy shrimp roll. The rolls are put together well and always taste fresh. What really sets them apart is that even their fairly basic rolls have some veggies mixed in. So many other places I've tried have two options: big deluxe rolls that fall apart, or small basic rolls that have little or no vegetables. I really like that most Makimoto rolls are somewhere in between...a happy medium that fits into one bite.
Excellent service and excellent food. Maybe this restaurant should show other resturants how it's done, because they got it right!

Before a long night of partying and dancing to Wolf Parade at the Crofoot, the group decided to give Cottage Inn a try. Two larges deep dish with 1x topping $15 bucks!! And it was delicious that night and in the morning.
I had to work Saturday and I ordered a Steak sub and an antipasto salad. Delivery guy was friendly and on-time. Sandwich was well wrapped and still warm. Salad had a good size and was fresh! I definitively recommend this place for deliveries, and I might try going to have lunch there over the week.
The best pizza and staff around...fast device with delivery and you could eat in or take out. Busy during Palace events, but well staffed.

Toasted Bun

excellent breakfast. very generous portions. best bang for your buck! highly recommend this place to anyone! fast service!
What a cute little place! It was Labor Day and I was craving brunch. Most places were closed, but Toasted Bun was open till 2pm. The restaurant is in downtown Auburn Hills and parking in the front and back. Two tables were outside and inside had a wall of booths then tables more so in the front. It was seat yourself (I didn't see a sign indicating this) but a waitress let us know shortly after we walked in. The decor inside is random and it was a bit dirty. But it was a holiday, so maybe that's why? The bathrooms are single stalls and there was a changing table in the women's bathroom. Bathroom as well was a bit dirty? Okay...getting to the good part! The food! Lots of breakfast options and lunch. Coffee was good. I got the banana waffle pancakes, bacon, and side of two eggs. My husband got one of the combo meals with bacon, eggs, French toast, hash browns, and toast. Pancakes were huge and thick! I got the half order (2 pancakes) and don't know how I could eat a full order (3 pancakes). Eggs were cooked perfectly and the pancakes/French toast was great, only bummer was the bacon. Bacon was soggy and room temperature at best. Our waitress was friendly and another waitress was going around filling up our coffees. So I appreciate the refills! Check you pay at the counter and was very reasonably priced. Quick and friendly service. I would definitely come back to try the lunch menu!
Good breakfasts are a bikers best friend. Toasted Bun is located in the quaint, expanding downtown Main Street section of Auburn Hills, a stone's throw away from the Clinton River Trail. And they have very good breakfast. My husband and I shared the banana nut pancakes and the chicken-spinach-artichoke omelettes. Both entrees were well prepared and flavorful. Our side of bacon was crispy and tater tots with the omelettes was just right. We were quickly seated on a Saturday morning. Our server was friendly and efficient. She was very busy with many tables and did a great job. Overall a very good breakfast with character.

I usually don't care too much about Fried Fish, but I gotta say the Walleye there is unbelievably good. I've had it 3 times, twice All you can eat ,once regular All were Great. Breakfast is very good, but what makes it great Is the hash browns and Thee Rye Toast ,,,Wow. Love the Cabbage Soup also.
This place is pretty solid for dinner coney island type food. They have a specials board behind the counter that always has a bunch of stuff to choose from. I really like their creamy pink Greek dressing and I often get the Greek salad with the gyro meat added, whatever they call that one. It's huge and very satisfying. They also have good hash browns here, so go ahead and order breakfast. My wife got a waffle and it was just okay, would have been better if the strawberries were hot. Update: We came in for dinner and tried the all you can eat fried Walleye dinner tonight. It seemed really popular, all the tables around us were having it too. It was a good deal at $10 with soup, salad or slaw, choice of potato and even a little dessert. I might just be picky but I didn't really care for it. Nothing was off but I found it flavorless and a little overcooked. I couldn't eat more than the first serving.
Our family went here the other day and enjoyed it. Prices are good considering portion sizes. We all ordered meals that came with a soup or salad as well as a dessert. When the salads came out, we knew that the meals would be large as the salads were almost a full meal on their own. The food was delicious and all of us came home with leftovers. One bummer was that the meals come only with a scoop of ice cream, rice pudding or one other dessert that I don't remember, but not the pies or cheesecake that was advertised at the door. Not a big deal, but a let down for several of us. However, a solid restaurant. We will be going back.

Callahan’s Music Hall

2105 South Blvd
Auburn Hills, 48326
Reviews:
Got to see Coco Montoya (one of my favorite blues musicians) perform at Callahan's last night. That fact that he would perform at a smaller venues speaks volumes of the location and their staff. Like others have mentioned, its a small venue. I recommend getting there as early as possible. While there isn't necessarily a "bad seat in the house", the seating is set up so you may have to contort your body in a certain position to get a good view.... They have an ok drink selection and a minimal food selection, but like others have mentioned, it's a music hall! Come for some great music and have a great time. I will be sure to come back, again!
The music is great. There is no other venue like this in Detroit where you can see national blues acts. However, if they don't get a "Bar Rescue" and get someone in there that knows how to run a bar business, I fear that they will be out of business soon as they are losing ~2/3 of potential revenue each night. Please get it together and consult with someone that knows the bar business.
Saw two shows here recently. Come for the small venue and blues niche. Usually not a drunk crowd getting blitzed. Everyone is there for the music.
