Don't waste your money! This is the worst Mexican food IV ever had. My husband and I are from Alpena and have been living in AZ. We missed our Mexican food and decided to give this place a try. Food was horrible, manager didn't care. We DID NOT eat the food but even after complaining we were still given a bill. Which I DID NOT pay. DO NOT GO HERE.

Great authentic Mexican food. Enchiladas Mole and Shrimp Mojo De Ajo our favorites. Chile Relleno also great. We have been here several times. Now that they are established, they have better waiters.

I thought the food was very good. I got the deep fried chicken chimichanga and it was on the smaller side but all the flavors were good. Service was just OK. Waitress said they didn't have apple juice on their menu when we first sat down but when we looked it was on there. Didn't refill our salsa without asking but refilled our drinks quickly. I would definitely go to this restaurant again if I'm ever in the area.

I can only comment on the nachos and the cold dos Equis but this place is worth a stop. We had the chicken fajita nachos and they took the time grill the jalapeños with the onions and peppers. Best nachos I've had in quite a while. And the beer was nice and cold. Viva summer...

I was bummed when Los Cuatro Amigos closed their location in Alpena, but happy to see a new Mexican place take over. I read the reviews and apprehensive about trying it. But, on my last visit to Alpena, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted promptly when I walked in. Seated right away and drink order taken. Chips and salsa came right away. Chips were warm and crispy, the salsa was similar to the type I have had in Mexican Village. I ordered the Hot and Spicy Burrito. It had, ground beef, chicken, rice and beans inside. There was no lettuce or onions which was fine by me. It was spicy as the name would suggest, but not overpoweringly spicy. They brought me more chips and salsa, and kept my iced tea refilled. It was a good experience.

Was served completely the wrong order by a waiter not versed in English. The manager knew no better, and was dumbfounded on dealing with customers. I will never return.

Wasn't expecting much in Michigan, and we were right. I might have given them 3 stars but my friend's carne asada el rancho was dry, overcooked, and not well seasoned. The "salsa" is not much better than ketchup with some onion and cilantro. At the restaurant we met some other Texans who were also not the least impressed. Oh well, I should've known better than look for good Mexican this far from Mexico.

After living here for a short amount of time and missing mexican food i brought my dad here that lives in California to try it out. We weren't very pleased with how bland the food tastes. Their guacamole doesn't taste anything like what it's suppose to taste like.. I got a chicken burrito and my husband and dad got a burrito and enchilada combo plate.. I would rather go to taco bell. Too bad.

My husband and I thought we'd try the new Mexican restaurant for lunch. Our waitress didn't seem to be too pleased to be there, not very friendly. Our lunch specials and two sodas were $24. Our meals were as tasteless as we've ever had and since the waitress never returned, we never received refills on the $2.35 per glass of soda. Loco Burrito has been put on our No go list.

I'm giving this two stars only because the place hasn't been open long, and hopefully after reading the reviews here the management of the restaurant will shape up things double-quick--otherwise, this business is surely destined for the same fate as the building's previous tenant. Everything that everyone else has cited applies to my experience as well: bland salsa, what have to be the very WORST-trained waitstaff I've ever encountered, rice even blander than the salsa... I suspected I might be in for disappointment when my dining experience began with the server checking in on the table ahead of mine, collecting their dirty dishes, and then setting them down on my table while she took my order. Off to an appetizing start! Ordered the steak fajitas--same thing I ordered at the last place--and while they weren't as bland as their predecessor's, they really didn't have much in the way of seasoning; any 'bite' in the food came from the dried chili pepper in with the onions, bell peppers and steak. No hint of cilantro, cumin, etc. Once my meal arrived--credit where it's due, it did not take an inordinately long time--I must have shapeshifted into a vapor, because that was the last contact I had with anyone until I finished my food and flagged the server down for the check. A young fellow in business dress continuously "worked" the room, stopping at tables to inquire if the customers there wanted drink refills--but despite the countless trips he made around the the place, not once did I win the lottery and get asked if I'd like a refill. Perhaps he didn't want to disturb me, as I was reading while eating my meal, but I thought he might venture it after he'd asked the booth ahead of me for the third time. Lesson learned: regardless of what beverage you prefer, I'll be requesting a glass of water along with my iced tea just so I'll have SOMETHING to drink should I become invisible again on my next visit there. Add to all of this the shabbiness of the surroundings and servingware--my plate had a large piece chipped off the corner [bigger than my thumbnail] that left the unglazed area free to absorb all sorts of food debris, the floor register along the wall behind my booth had been lifted out of the opening in the ductwork, and left leaning against the wall; the vinyl seat of the booth I was in clearly hadn't been wiped down recently, as there was food still stuck to it. All in all, it wasn't an experience that left me wanting to return soon, though I will likely give them a second chance after they've been open a bit longer in hopes that they'll have gotten their act together. If that visit is no different [or worse!], it will be the last meal there for me.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
