My burger was quite good but the aoli that was described was not given. My wife ordered a turkey club. It had no pesto and very little (0.5 tsp.) aoli so it was very dry. The fries were good and my kids said the pizza was good. My parents got steaks and this looked like a mistake to me... the steaks looked like they were just OK. I liked ALL the beer though! My tip would be to order burgers and beer if you like ketchup rather than aoli or ask for aoli on the side so you can be sure they give it to you. They have NO coloring or other activities for kids! I agree with the other review out here that the music is a bit too loud.

Very awful, it had a fancy appearance and the food sucked. The beer selection sucked and the pizza sucked.. Biggest waste of money

My wife and I arrived there at 6pm on a Thursday night and they had a group of eight men drinking and being OVER SERVED WITH THE HARD LIQUOR. We were moved to another room but the sound of the drunks was unreal. This is not family dining! This is a watering hole!. We ordered a app that has pizza chips and cheese, it was horrible! The bread was as hard as a rock and the cheese tasted like cheese wiz. The pizza arrived and it was burnt on the bottom but the top wasn't burnt?. This is a one and done place. If you want to be over served on liquor this is the place,if you want fine dining go somewhere else. Very disappointing!

Limited beer selection but what they offer is their own and tasty. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was huge and delicious. It was even served on a homemade roll. My wife had the mac and cheese, she loved it and said it wasn't too heavy. Great choice as long as you don't mind listening to popular dance type music while you eat.

The music was too loud. The salad was your basic iceberg lettuce with croutons and a few vegetables. The sandwiches were decent. This restaurant was once and done for me.

I liked this place. We stayed nearby for vacation, and went for dinner one night. The service was great, the beers were tasty, and the food was good. For the Wells area, this was a good choice. MUCH better than the chowder house down the street.

I was very confused walking into Fire n Brew. I thought it was a brewery (Hidden Cove), but when we walked in there was a sign that said "Captain Dick's Tasting Room"... We got a flight of beers which were in fact Hidden Cove Beers and they were good. The bar served complimentary popcorn but when I asked for a food menu (since it looked like a restaurant to me..) I was told the only food they served was pizza and we were told there would not be any pizza that day because the pizza cook was "MIA" - this was also confusing because other yelpers had posted pictures of food and said how great some of their meals were. Anyways - all in all, it was an interesting experience. It wasn't what I expected from a "brewery"

Beer was excellent and truly designed for each and every taste. The owner helps design each and every beer, and you find different flavors than you would expect! Made for beer people. Pizza was equally as good!

We had low expectations based on the reviews we saw and the availability of seating on a Saturday night. Everything was excellent. We had the mussels as a starter- amount the best we have ever had. We ordered the fish and chips as well as burgers. Everything was fantastic the tartar sauce, fries, roasted potatoes, cole slaw, fish and burgers. The beers were also very good and an interesting mix. The one demerit is the decor which is very generic and dominated by TV screens on just about every wall. However it is advertised as more of a bar / restaurant, so maybe this is to be expected. Definitely recommend this place.

There was a little bit of a wait but that went by quick. They had a private room in the back that opened up before the dining room so we took it. That music was loud but when asked to turn it down they promptly did so. The waitress was attentive. Even the manager checked in to see how we were doing. The food was decent. Not a huge menu. Mostly gourmet bar food like pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. I got the brisket and it was pretty good. The frites were awesome. My brother got the octopus app and loved it. Huge selection of beers. Seemed like it got busier with the bar crowd. Definitely would go back.

Stopped here on the Maine Brew Bus, wish we could stay all day! Great variety of beer, thin crust pizza was delicious, finished with a brownie pop... You can't go wrong!!!

My husband, child and I ate here a few nights ago. Loved the fact that there was no wait time...that is about all I liked about the place. We were sat at the table at the entrance of the dining room so everyone had to go past us. The music is WAY to loud. Could not hear my family or the waiter. The waiter did not seem to be on his game. We rarely saw him in the dining room when he did not need to be. The other wait staff was very attentive to their tables. We ordered the wings for appetizer and then our food. Everything came at once! My husband's mussels were lukewarm, my son had the Portobello Mushroom sandwich which was overcooked and my pizza was okay. The beer was fantastic! I am a local and we love eating at Varano's and I think that is where we will spend our money. For $80 I would have had a FANTASTIC meal and an atmosphere that is more inviting.

Went with my wife last night. Place was dead, that should have been my first hint. We then checked the menu, most of the dishes were very overpriced. I went with a pizza and my wife got the fish & chip. The waitress was firm with the orders too, no substitutions. The pizza had flavor, thin crust, however the middle of the crust was mushy. Fish & chip also had flavor, nice batter, but only two small pieces. To some it up, we went in hungry and left starving with a much lighter cash in my wallet.

Food - not so much. Craft Beer- worst I have had on East Coast. Can't say I would recommend this place for the beer. Customer service was good.

Really enjoyed this place, highly recommend it. Comfortable, friendly vibe. Had some of the house brews, rye IPA & pale ale, which were delicious. While enjoying those, I noticed the stacked piles of Italian pizza flour just outside the kitchen and knew we had to try the food. So glad we did. Excellent thin-crust Neapolitan-style wood fired pizza. Perfect amount of toppings and just enough of the style's characteristic char. Octopus app was just right in texture and flavor. Bright and citrusy, with creamy potato salad as contrast. Great service, too! Contemplating another visit again tonight.

My hubby and I tried this place on an early Saturday afternoon. It was the best place we could have chosen! We were greeted by a great hostess, who had an awesome personality. She told us all about the menu, and educated us on the brewery. My husband decided on the turkey club, and he said the bread was so fresh and everything was delicious! I had a burger and I must say it was so fresh and cooked perfectly for me! The hostess told us that they grind their own hamburg to order right there on their property . The atmosphere is so nice, and super clean. Everyone is very polite and friendly. We will definitely bring friends back there soon.

I expected just a wood burning oven pizza place, but their menu is more extensive than that. It's a wide range of upscale pub food. My husband and I both thought the food was very good. He had the pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun with house cut French fries, and I had the veggie pizza. My husband liked the beer. The atmosphere is OK. Service was great.

Arrived at 6pm - no wait. We chose a table in the bar to relax and have dinner. Music is TOO loud! Could not chat with dinner guest. While I get that they are trying to be a hip joint, if you can't chat with the people you are with you just might have to go elsewhere. The wings are delicious - smokey buffalo and nicely crisp . The beer was excellent - Their own! We then had a pizza - spicey salami - above average - awesome dough - very good quality indgredients, however, the nice thin crust should be crisper - the pizza, although it had great taste was too soft. I really hope they are working out a few kinks with the wood fired pizza oven because this place could be great. All in all we enjoyed our meal and will be back! I think I speak for others when I say the pizza should be crispy!

Just finished the best dinner of our entire trip here tonight. Completely unexpected. It was close to our hotel, it was pouring rain, and we didn't want to go too far. Based on previous reviews, our expectations weren't too high, but we were completely blown away. My family owns several different restaurants in Massachusetts, so I know exactly what it takes to run a restaurant and especially when it comes to the food. Our restaurants rely heavily on yelp reviews and we take yelp very serious. And after speaking to the manager of the restaurant, I learned they are doing the same. I was so impressed with this place that it has prompted my very first yelp review. I am thrilled to give them this because they totally deserve it. In the past year, I have been to many restaurants that I would never go back to based on the lack luster customer service, but I was loving all the attention to detail that the servers, hostess, and manager gave to us. They were all smiles, willing and able to make recommendations and explain the menu selections, they were all so proud of the food they were serving and it showed. The food was equally as good. We had the best chicken wings ever as an appetizer. Totally recommend getting these. Smoky, not dry, crispy deliciousness! The pizza I had was amazing! The crust rivaled my favorite crust from Frank Pepe's in Connecticut. They have a pastry chef in house that makes all their dough and breads and desserts from scratch. We also had little neck clams that were perfect and the homemade bread sticks that came with it was sooooo good. My daughter had the pulled pork on homemade brioche with fries. She said they were the best fries she has ever had. The pulled pork was very tasty. My husband had the brisket, perfect amount of smokiness, not dry at all, and no sauce needed, with not your average coleslaw, amazing potato salad, and the jalapeño cornbread was just ridiculous! Needless to say, we absolutely loved everything! The in house pastry chef makes all the difference though, because that cornbread and pizza has now spoiled me and nothing will compare. It's okay though, because we will be back next year for a week and we will be looking forward to enjoying this place each day we are there. The menu is innovative and has lots of different choices, I'd like to try their burgers, they sounded so good too. Overall, we had the best meal of our trip here, not only for the food but for the service and atmosphere as well. We even played a couple of table games while we waited for our food. Give this place a try, you won't leave disappointed!

The pizza is excellent and the Mac and Cheese should NOT be passed on. I was glad the kids got full so that I could finish it for them.
