Excellent pies. We stopped for dinner once and it was good but we went back to get pie two more times. Toll house cookie pie is great but make sure you warm it up. The blueberry is not too sweet and the coconut cream is right on.

Good for groups. Good seafood. Best onion rings. I only eat them when I'm here. Buddy is a peach. We have been a fan since his days at Weathervane in Belfast. Good fried scallops! We came in and Erin was wonderful. She was super great with the children and beyond speedy. Super service. This is a must stop in Searsport. Update: Buddy does not disappoint. His customer service is outstanding. The food is great. We will always dine here. They take reservations for large groups. They are very child friendly.

Haddock stew was tasteless and overcooked. Haddock sandwich was very greasy --the only plus was generous portion

We always vacation in Belfast and always look forward to dinner out at the Angler. This year we were so disappointed! Clams were tough and tasteless. The boneless buffalo wings were so hot you couldn't even eat them.Even the waitress who had them for dinner said she thought they were way too hot! So expensive! For crappie food! Don't waste your money!

This has always been my go to spot for good local haddock. Portions are huge so bring your appetite. Have been coming to the area for several years and have always made it a point to save a night for Anglers. Great wait staff and pleasant atmosphere. The desert choices are amazing and delicious. Another great meal. Thanks.

I don't really understand the crowd at this restaurant. We went with a group of 8 people and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, so it must be doing a pretty good business. However, the food is not cheap (my entree was $21.99) and it wast not very good. I had the broiled scallops that were overcooked. The presentation of the meal was sorely lacking. Just some plain scallops in a dish. The mashed potatoes were in a separate dish and the green beans in another. When the server had to be reminded about the green beans (twice), she remarked "Oh, they are still in the microwave". Not very appetizing as I can microwave food at home. My daughter had a crab roll that was a slice of sandwich bread, crab meat and a slice of pre-packaged cheese. I've eaten here before and had a different meal and there just seems to be a lot of deep fried seafood but it does not stand out as anything exceptional to me. Maybe there is a lack of restaurants in the area, but I would not return as this was not a good value.

Meh- that's the best word to describe Anglers. If you're looking for fried seafood, you'll find it here, but that's about all this restaurant does right. Anything broiled instead of fried, sides, etc. all seem to be extremely bland. Stick to somewhere else if you're looking for something that's not fresh out of the fryer. On the bright side, the service is always excellent!

We like Angler's. They make some of the best fried seafood in Maine. Yesterday when we went there they were out of fried oysters. This has happened to us before. So we settled for broiled scallops, which were good. The squash & beets were good as well. The dinner rolls are blah, but I always seem to eat them. My wife got string beans that looked fresh, not frozen or canned. No rhubarb on the gedunk menu either. No oysters; no rhubarb = 3 stars. One week later we returned. They had fried oysters and strawberry rhubarb pie available. We weren't in the mood for fried, so we both ordered the pot roast special which was excellent. We also got the strawberry rhubarb pie which was excellent as well. Upgrade from 3 to 4 stars.

Tried this place twice. Tried different dinners both times - broiled scallops one night, salmon the next. If you're looking for TASTELESS food, this is a place for you. For other people who want their food to have some sort of taste, I recommend going elsewhere. Blech.

My parents took my new husband and I here for lunch. I ordered the fish and chips and he ordered the open faced crab sandwich. Both were delicious! The fish could be the traditional batter, or you could also get it broiled. I had the traditional batter and it was light and crispy and not oily. The size of the serving was enormous! The "chips" were actual potatoes - NOT fries. The vegetable was a yummy butternut squash. My husbands sandwich came with regular fries. I am looking forward to my next visit to this restaurant.

This dump deserves 0 stars. I literally felt sick after eating here. I ordered the baked lobster meal, which was drowned in butter. The lobster meat was slimy and fishy tasting. The pickled beets were straight out of a can and the mashed potatoes were apt to kill a vampire. My boyfriend ordered broiled haddock, no seasoning whatsoever-only lots and lots of butter. The fish was as tough as beef and tasted a week old. We also ordered a lobster roll to share. The lobster roll wasn't bad, but was served on a weird Texas toast style bread that made it difficult to eat. I can honestly say I will NEVER stop here again, and I severely caution anyone considering it. The prices are moderate to expensive, and the quality is horrible. One of the worst meals of my life, and you can see from my yelp career that I eat out often.

let me start of by saying who ever gives this place one star should either have their taste buds checked , or give this place one more try.. my wife and i come here every time we're visiting family. my wife's grandfather "BUD" should have his own personalized seat there. the crab rolls are delicious as are the lobster rolls, the fish and chips are excellent, and my fav is the fried haddock. i've had the broiled haddock which was good, but i'll stick with the fried. just writing this review makes me want to go back there again. service is always with a smile. always that local family owned feel when you come in.. even on busy night, which is most of the time... can't wait to come back, and yes "BUD" will accompany us as he usually does..see you soon.

Great fried seafood! No, it's not good for a diet. Yes, the fried seafood is tremendous! The clams, scallops and haddock are divine. The fresh fried Maine shrimp are sweet and succulent--but don't expect jumbo shrimp! And DO save room for dessert--the homemade pies and the gingerbread...YUM! I've chatted with a bunch of locals, and they swear that the Anglers Restaurant has the best fried clams in the area! I agree. The scallops are HUGE and tender. The prices are reasonable, and the service is good. What more could you ask for?

If you are looking for an authentic main fare , the kind where the locals go you've found the place. The fried food was light not heavy. I had the fried haddock and recommend it. Lots of flavor and the breaking enhanced it. It's casual place with the noise that comes from families. Nice place.

Family-style restaurant. Simple lobster rolls that are made just right. Light on the mayo and seasoning means more of the fresh lobster meat taste. Friendly staff and service makes this place a go. They have 3 locations so try to catch one.

For anything other than fried seafood, forget it. Lousy scallops and fish, limited or no healthy choices. Go somewhere else.

Local recommended it for lobster. It was a good meal. I had the sauteed crab claws. Not as fresh tasting as I had hoped. But, still good. Paper placemat, specials on a whiteboard, and formica table kind of spot. Very nice and friendly wait-staff. I would recommend it. But not if you are looking for a top shelf dining experience.

Baked stuff lobster's not as good as the previous comments. It's way too salty. Except that, it's worth the price. I got two huge sides for one dish.

I know I say all the time that I don't eat seafood, and I don't. How did I end up at the place that calls itself "Maine's Family Seafood Restaurant?" My entire family eats seafood. I am used to it though. I am used to searching out the one nonseafood thing on the menu whether it be fettuchini alfredo, chicken fingers, or a cheese burger. Not so at Anglers. They have a whole "Land Lovers" menu which includes Prime Rib, Vegetarian Scampi (WHICH IS AMAZING!), BBQ Ribs, Orange Chicken and the typical burger and chicken tenders. As far as the seafood. My family recommends everyone that goes to Maine hit up Anglers and get the Maine Shore Dinner which contains a whole lobster, clams, and mussels. It's started off with a cup of lobster stew and i believe it also had a pasta or baked potato with it. It's a group of restaurants, don't want to give it the negative connotation of a chain.

If you like fried food and large portions, you will be in heaven at Anglers. Had the small Fish n Chips AND a Fried Chicken sandwich for only 12.00 total. Still full today.

We have been here several times. For the first time today, the service was very poor. Food was slow to arrive. The wait staff did not come back until long after our food was served to see if we needed anything. Long delay in getting the check. Very disappointing.

Stopped here based on the parking lot crowd this past Sunday. Wife and I ordered lobster rolls with o-rings. I am a Mainer and am particular about both of these items. Lobster needs to be fresh with just the right amount of mayo. I don't want mayo on the side. They need to commit and build the lobster roll as it should be. And they do. No complaints on the lobster roll. Fresh with plenty of meat, on a toasted bun as well. I find that in Maine most seafood restaurants worth their salt make good O-Rings. Angler's is no exception. Their onion rings are first rate. Will definitely stop in again some time. Other meals going to other tables looked great.

We have been eating here a couple of times yearly for many years but this time they so outdid themselves that I would give 6 stars if allowed. Mostly we order either crab salad or fried clams. I depend on eating crab here even though the fried clams are delicious too. This year there was no crab roll offered on the menu, just a crab melt (sounds gross) and the server said there wasn't any crab in house. I was bummed, always on a diet so ordered a salad and cottage cheese. Another person delivered the food and I asked if there were new owners, how could there be no crab? She said some came in, would I like her to bring me some so I said yes. Out comes a HUGE amount of crab with just a touch or mayo, it was sooooo good. I hoped they wouldn't charge for the now uneaten cottage cheese. Well they not only comped the cottage cheese, they refused any payment at all for the crab salad. They have earned by undying loyalty, the crab is always so tasty and they are located right on the route we travel.

Nice seafood restaurant. Seems a little pricey for various fried seafood items and especially the clam chowder but that's the norm in Maine during the season. Enjoyed two meals here on two consecutive days and both were quite good. Friendly staff and quick service. Nice decor. Private lot for parking. Theres an adjoining motel called the Baits' Motel- really.

Was very relaxing lunch...reasonably priced and food was great...my only complaint was the server did not really check back much and was a little slow at refilling my water :-)

Onion rings are fabulous! The fried clams are pretty good too. Basic fare, but delicious. They had tripe on the board, which I didn't know existed outside of 1960s English boarding schools, but you don't have to eat that.

If you love fried food then this is the place for you, seems like everything is fried. Except for the lobster which as it is priced here is one heck of a deal considering the amount of food you get. A great place for a family to enjoy a night out.

Considering the beautiful setting overlooking the harbor, I was only expecting so-so food. Very pleasantly surprised, much better than most I'd tried (as a tourist wandering around Maine) Excellent food, very good service. All entrees (3) were extremely tasty. If you're from out of the area, try the lobster Mac & Cheese!

The waitress was super sweet and very helpful. They were very accommodating of my brother in a wheelchair. I had a fried clam roll which was basically a buttered roll with fried clams. The clams were delicious and I should have just ordered them on their own. I ordered the grapenut custard for dessert which was good but my sister has the toll house pie and I had serious food envy.
