The Sebago restaurant setup is great, the interior looks huge! The booths are quiet, secluded, and intimate. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with service. The Bavarian Mandarina was described as fruity and refreshing... I wouldn't describe this beer as so; to me, it was hoppy, strong, and bitter. Wish I would have gotten the Boathouse Brown Ale. I also ordered the Bacon Mac and Cheese with Lobster. How could anyone go wrong with that dish?! Yum. My family enjoyed their burgers. This place would be great for a date with the intimate setting and great food.

Great spot to get food and/or drinks anytime. Huge space, nice interior, great deals, especially ok Wednesday's where all drafts are 3 dollars! We had a great server, she gave us all the time in the world answering questions about the menu. Unfortunately, I got a burger that was super overcooked (not her fault) and she offered me something else. I opted for the Reuben which was great. We also got the calamari which was in a spicy broth, very tasty. Would certainly come back!

Wow! This was my first time visiting Maine in general and I wasn't disappointed! There was pretty much nothing on the menu that I wouldn't eat, which made choosing something that much more difficult. First off: Do yourself a favor and get the fried pickles. Get two orders if you can- these things are godly. Second: I don't know if this is a year-round menu item or not, but they were having the Patriot burger as their special - pretty much a regular burger with red onions and blue cheese sauce. Get the sauce. ALWAYS GET THE SAUCE I'll be stalking my friend to make sure she brings me back up to her family house, because I need to go back here ASAP

This used to be my favorite restaurant until they changed the menu to pub style. Now I have no reason to eat here, but the lounge is fun.

Second time in maine is starting as refreshing as the first. Great spot to eat and drink. Love the homemade ale. The sangria is very tasty. I recommend this place.

As busy as this place is you would think their food and service were top notch. Waited almost an hour for food and when we asked about it 30 minutes in we were given a canned response by our inattentive and apathetic waitress, "it's on its way." She didn't care to apologize or console us on the unnecessary wait. Food comes and the fingerling potatoes are clearly burnt and she basically claims that they are just dark purple. Brought it up with another and they claimed the same. Sorry honey, but I know burnt when I taste it. Check the pic and decide for yourself. Next, cut into the chicken and it was wayyyyy overcooked and as tough as a piece of jerky. Service and food are completely in the tank and will not be back, especially considering the number of options available that offer superior service and food in the vicinity.

my daughter and I ate here for lunch last week. I got the Boathouse Ale. It was very good. We ordered the fried pickle app. The worst fried pickles I've ever had. Pretty sure they come frozen in a bag. The pickle was sliced soo thin that the batter on one side of it was thicker than the pickle. Not sure how that is physically possible! We both got burgers. I thought they were average burgers. My daughters bottom bun was cut wrong. It was very thin. The burger just kinda dissolved it. It ruined it for her. I wouldn't go back.

The interior is very clean and gives you a sense of spaciousness. The bartender was very quick to take our drink order and hand us menus, all around good service and solid beer flavors! We started off with the pork dumplings, you NEED to try those. They are little soft, fried pillows of deliciousness from heaven with a delicious sweet/ sour dipping sauce. We've Had them twice and they were amazing both times. I then had the black n blue burger which looked basic but was extremely flavorful with a nice char, juicy inside and well seasoned, the bun held up throughout the whole meal and the fries were just the right level of salty/ crispy. My GF had the tuna ponzou with rice and veg which she described as delicious. It looked delicious to me. The rice was cooked perfectly. We've yet to have a bad experience here and will keep on returning!

This place is easily accessible, clean, and spacious. The employees here are generally friendly. The beers are excellent and fairly priced. They are accommodating when it comes to filling growlers. I have not tried the food, but next time I will.

It's safe to say that I'm a big fan of Sebago Brewing. The food is great and it's always consistent- I'm a creature of habit and I've been known to get the same meal over and over again. The food is ALWAYS good. Everything is always just as good as I remembered, which is a huge plus for me. There's nothing worse than not getting what you expected. My favorite thing about Sebago is the hours. The kitchen is open until midnight, and this is where I always find myself when I want a drink and some good food later on in the evening. The bar area is really relaxed, and the booths are great. The service is always pretty quick, and I don't think I've ever had to wait for a table. The dining room can get pretty loud, but so can any other restaurant. Everything I've had in the menu is good, but my favorites are the pulled pork, the bourbon steak wrap, and the hummus and tzatiki platter. Also, the tiramisu is out of this world. The only real negative about this place is the chain-like feel. Despite it being a local place, it feels like a larger chain like Applebee's. I'm not too turned off by this, but some people may be. Either way it's not enough for me to give this place any less than a five-star rating.

This place is just meh. I've only been here for happy hour drinks. I give it three stars and not less because Sebago is a bit of a beer institution in southern Maine - props for that. I remember when it was essentially this place, Gritty's, and the Great Lost Bear as your only 'good' beer options in Portland back in the earIy 2000s. That said, I can't say that I've ever really cared for any of their beers, although I can choke down a Slick Nick every once in a while if I'm trapped in a panic room or something. An added discouragement is that through proximity to the mall-area and through choice of interior/exterior design, this brew pub (next to chain hotels, this brew pub feels like a prefabricated Olive Garden/Applebee's/Bugaboo Creek-type restaurant. That's never a good thing, especially as a local brewer. The free pretzel rods to gnaw on at the bar while you drink are a nice touch.

Came here for a late graduation brunch in May. P.S. weather was great. Shoutout to our server Tyler( same name as my husband, yay) he was informed, attentive and responsive. We only ordered light meals-chicken fingers, bowls and tacos but most of all I highly recommend the sweet potato fries with sweet fries! OMG so good,I mean great-actually scratch all that our was Ammmaaazzziiinnnggg! Get it, get it, get it! Overall nice place, clean interior, great selection-kudos!

Every time we order food to-go from either this location or the one in Portland, they mess it up. Every.single.time. If it weren't for the convenience of the locations and the fact that I have practically memorized the menus from eating here so often, we would probably stop going. Somehow every time we order they make three extra salads or charge us for something we didn't order. Also not uncommon is the food not being close to done when we get there. It's a salad and a reuben people, come on. One time I asked if they could add shrimp to a salad, the hostess got confused and asked a manager to speak with me. I repeated my question, to which of course she said they could definitely add shrimp. When I picked up our meals they charged me a whopping $6 extra for shrimp, totaling my salad to nearly $17 after taxes. Had I known it was going to be that much I would not have added shrimp, I understand seafood is costlier than chicken, but $6 is a lot, especially for a place like Sebago Brewing Co. The fact that they didn't disclose the charge to me over the phone made me believe it was going to be reasonable. Joke's on me I guess. Basically at this point we only ever eat/order from here if it's a last minute attempt to grab dinner somewhere and we're too tired to flex our food brains and try a new place.

Sebago brewing is pretty great! They have great appetizers- try the pork dumplings, or for a ravenous belly the potato wedge nachos. Reasonably priced as well. The beer is delicious, although when I've been throughout the year it seems that darks outnumber lighter beers. I like the Frye's Leap (hoppy IPA) and summer draft (fruity hops!). I love this place later on in the evening- it's a good spot for the introverts/relaxed groups. Good music selection, but not so loud that you can't hear each other (which is good because I'm losing my hearing at the ripe age of 21). Also the kitchen is open until midnight so you're late night feeding fantasies can be fulfilled. Finally, the bar top itself is really...wide (from those sitting to the bartender) and I love it.

Next to the Homewood Suites in Portland, ME, this was a convenient place to stop for a late meal. Did it twice, and enjoyed both times. Being able to taste the local beers was fun, and the food was more than adequate. Not fantastic, but pretty good. Telling them you were staying at the hotel next door got you 10% off the bill - another nice perk.

My wife and I live in the area and have been to sebago many times. Food is basic American pub food-burgers, sandwiches and salads mostly with a few others like Mac and cheese. Each time I've had a burger it's been above average. I'm a major craft beer person and by far the Lake trout Stout (year around offering) and Bump Black (a seasonal) and Simmer Down (seasonal) are their best beers. Most of the time the service had been good. My only gripe is the restaurant feels a bit generic for me- almost as if you could be at any chain like an Applebee's. Recommended over Sea Dog.

We went here on Fathers Day because we were running some errands. The food took over an hour to come out and when it did it was inedibly salty, dry and cold. The manager and server provided great guest recovery but I just think this is chain style food and probably so so most of the time.

Sebago is delicious and more importantly, consistent!! When you are in the mall area, there are NOT a lot of great restaurants. There are a few chains, the food court...you get the picture. The bright spot in the landscape is THIS Sebago Brewing Company. The service is always good. The servers know the menu well. It isn't that they have just memorized it, they can answer real questions about the food. They check on you, but they don't hover and I have NEVER felt rushed even though this is a favorite after work spot and we do tend to linger. The food is always solidly good. While not an innovative menu (think burgers, sandwiches, salads and a few entrees), it is executed well. My personal favorite is the potato nachos or the black and blue burger. The tiramisu is also amazing, although I may not always have room to eat it!! Portions are good sized and I almost always have a box to take home. Solid food, good service, and close to work? Yes please!

Stopped in late Friday night. Server was friendly and attentive. Tried one of their house craft beers and it was cold and tasty. Ordered the honey sirachi wings and they were delicious but fair warning they are HUGE. Filled me up. Ate the peanut butter pie and it too was good. Nice atmosphere. Hope to go back and try the entrees.

Great service. Wonderful draft Sebago beer selections. The food was hot. We had the sirloin sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich.

Good food. Good service. Try a pixie stick martini. One issue with our food having the paper still between the cheese was quickly addressed and handled by the waitstaff.

Great food and environment. We came in on Father's Day, it was very busy but service was still great. I had the haddock and my boyfriend had steak. I was impressed with the margarita, most just do tequila and bar mix but this was fresh and really good. Only complaint was that we asked about jalapeños in the nachos being fresh and they come out jarred ones.

  • Ryan S.

Place had rats and the server acted like it was my fault. I would never go there again. Don't waste your money! You have been warned. Plus they don't like Latinos.

Always great to find a gem across the street from my hotel. Food, beer, and service were great.

  • Joe H.

I like the food and the servers...feels like a sports bar on the "lounge" side. A little music, television usually tuned to a ball game or something... The cajun dusted haddock bites are quickly becoming my personal favorite. Patrons are mostly relaxed, talking and knocking back a couple of brews...all in all, Sebago Brewery is a nice, casual spot with decent food and respectable service. Two thumbs up in my book.

Beer, stout was awesome, the food was awful, no flavor, boring, dull crap. Go for the beer, I would.

First of all I need to give myself a one star for even choosing this item on their menu. The curious side got The best out of me and I decided to order their Vietnamese noodle a.k.a. Pho here - bad idea! Imagine someone who grew up in isolation and had no idea of what pho is and only read about this amazing dish - arguably the best soup in the world! The broth tasted like really poor quality canned chicken broth and noodles were way overcooked. There was a hint of licorice in there which is weird. They also included what seemed to taste like left over pulled chicken. A complete disaster of an item on their menu and disgrace to such a dish so complex and world reknown! My bad for keeping an open mind and ordering this at what is typically an American bar/restaurant. The service was great and no complaints there. The two star is really only for this dish. Lesson learned. For those seeking authentic pho I would try Phoever Maine in Westbrook or Thanh Thanh in Portland

I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. It was pretty busy, but I was able to get immediate seating in the lounge. I tried the seasonal stout, being most recently from the Portland, OR area, I was excited to see how the stout was here. I was not impressed. I also had the shepherd's pier hat was the Friday special. It was ok, but kind of bland and dry. The salad was good, minus the wilted parts from being on the same plate as the croc the shepherd's pie came in. The redeeming portion of the meal was the dessert. I had the blueberry pie and it was delicious! The food was ok, the service was a little slow. Parking was tough, but manageable.

Delicious and satisfying appetizers. Fried pickles are the best around and always served at the perfect temperature Fresh and tasty pub food that fills you up without breaking the bank. Beer brewed on site and served cold

  • Jan L.

The fish and chips were fantastic. Marissa as a server did a great job on a crowded Friday evening. The garden house salad had a marvelous set of tastes with field greens, cucumber, carrot slices, croutons, spinach...marvelous combination. With the fish and chips came a good cole slaw, and the soup-seafood chowder-had a lovely taste...creamy, seafoody, and comforting. The final dish we had were the fried pickles-Yummy! As for the beers...this being a micro brewery...I'd drink one of their brews any day!!! I'd return again next time I was in Portland, ME.

Sebago Brewing Company is always a reliable standby. They have great burgers, great sandwiches, great fries, great fried pickles, and a friendly atmosphere. As some have mentioned it does feel more commercial than I'd like, but they do have lots of local options for both food and drink. You never have to wait for a table (at least I never have). Good times!

Stopped by for lunch after we checked into our hotel around the corner. Drinks were great, food was great, service was so-so but nothing to complain about..it was a beautiful day out and we were enjoying the great weather anyways. They have a pretty decent selection of different items on the menu, and we definitely enjoyed our choices. We actually also returned much later that night just before they closed & enjoyed some more drinks before calling it a night. A little better service this time, so definitely a great visit overall.

Had lunch here before heading to the airport. Really enjoyed this place. The food was excellent. I had the Vermont Panini and would certainly get this again. They had several items that looked interesting on the menu. The others I was with all seemed to enjoy their meals as well.

We came for drinks and food after a long drive on a Thursday night. The bartender was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The craft beer selection was excellent for a small place and we were able to try many different beers. I would recommend this place as an easy and affordable mid-week spot to enjoy good food and beer without all the hustle and bustle of other more crowded restaurants /bars.

It was ok. Burger and gluten free bun were dry. Hubby enjoyed the potato nachos and French onion soup. The atmosphere and serve were really great!!!

The service at this Sebago is way better than the one in Kennebunk. The waitress allowed me to have 2 5oz samples so I could drink responsibly. I tried the runabout and the trout stout. The runabout was a better beer for me. The trout stout had a bit more of a bitter taste.

My fiance and I went to Sebago last night and we had a great time. It's location is great with the hotel we stayed at-walking distance :-) We sat at the bar from 6-10:30 and our final bill was not that bad.Over the course of the evening, we had three appetizers, two entrees, ten beverages and got a t-shirt for 137. We got the artichoke dip and pita bread, pot stickers and the sweet potatoe fries (awesome). All the appetizers were tasty. Eventually we got entrees. I got the petite stirloin special with quinoa, baby brussel sprouts, and a gorgonzala cream sauce over the stirloin. I opted to not get the bacon with the cream sauce and I think it tasted great. I did order a sample with the bacon to try. (my fiance of course thought I was crazy for not.ordering Bacon with it ) He got the seafood ravioli special and he loved it. It was lobster, crab, scallops in the ravioli with a tomato cream sauce with spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Needless to say, he was in heaven. We wish did the sample of beers, but we were happy with our choices. The bar tenders and staff were also very friendly.

Spacious, clean place. Definitely smacks of commercialism rather than an actual brewpub. Still, that's not a knock. Had take out: Hop Daddy Chicken sandwich was tasty though unremarkable. Fries were really good. Wife had Bourbon Steak wrap. She says it was A-OK. Again, not stellar but not bad either. Also ordered the Sriracha wings. These... could have been better. Wings were slightly mushy but this may be a personal foilble as I tend to like crunchier wings. The sauce was tasty but lacked substance. not really hot and could barely taste the Sriracha. Again, the whole experience was that it was not bad. This is a great example of inoffensive, institutionalized fare. The beer, however, is better. The Runabout Red is not a standout but I had the dry-hopped Amarillo IPA ON CASK. Very nice. Also, the Frye's Leap IPA is drinking pretty well. Citrusy and cat-pissy (in a good way); highly drinkable. The standout was the bartender. The stout was not available as a six-pack carry out and, when I told her my wife (who was waiting in the car with our bastard of a dog), doesn't like hoppy, she recommended the Red stating that it was MORE MALTY. She also helped another patron choose a beer by asking what he normally LIKED (full? crisp? rather than light beer vs. dark COLORED beer). In short, she seemed pretty knowledgeable, which was refreshing. This place is not a beer "must-do" nor is it a #craftbeer mecca. But, if you're stuck in the hotel by the mall, you might as well come here.

Their beer line has vastly improved over the past year and those Irish Nachos rock! I'm always happy with the food (seafood or burger). Good stuff. I typically go to the Gorham location which is a little dated, my only complaint.

  • Amanda R.

I've been to the Scarborough location twice and I love this restaurant! Their burgers are really delicious and are gigantic. I go for their potato nachos only because it has potatoes, jalapenos, salsa, sour cream, monterey jack cheese, scallions, and tomatoes. What's not to love in that combination?! The peach bellinis are always so yummy if you're up for a fruity drink with prosecco. Try one of their beers that they brew in house, it's really good!

I like this place though it's a little pricey good staff and good food great beers this one is a little better then the o e in kennebunk

We had a sampler of their darker beers which were all very good. The barleywine and Imperial Stout were especially solid and because they bottle the barleywine we were able to take it home with us. We only had a couple of the appetizers but even they went well with the beers.

My husband, son and I ate at the Scarborough restaurant a few months ago and were very disappointed with everything. From entering to leaving it was horrible. When we walked in there was no one at the desk and not one waiter or bartender acknowledged us. When the host came out of the kitchen, he did not apologize or greet us with a smile. Our waitress was okay, but the food was horrible. I asked for one of the specials on the board, but it was out, but they never erased it. It was still there when we left! The pulled pork tasted and looked like dog food, my sons burger was VERY greasy and my husband got the baked fish which was bland. Took forever to get our check and get out of there. This being said, we usually go to the restaurant in Kennebunk and NEVER have a bad time. Scarborough should take some pointers! We will NOT be going back to this restaurant!

  • Shane L.

Wife and I came here for lunch today and it was pretty good. I started my meal off with a seafood chowder that was creamy and tasty but when it said it had scallops and shrimp in the chowder, it was more of some sort of minced seafood combo in the cream based dish. It was tasty though I was just expecting more. But then again, I did come to Sebago expecting seafood? Silly man. My wife ordered the baked haddock sandwich and she really liked it with a side of sweet potato fries that were huge and not too greasy. I got the basic bacon cheese burger cooked medium and it was extremely red in the middle but I had a side of cole slaw to replace the fries and it was very good! The service was ok. We got a glass of water and diet soda and had no refills throughout the entire lunch date. The only other thing I didn't care for is the heft of the roll that was on my burger. Other than that, it was a pretty good lunchtime meal and would come here again.

Best fried pickles around. These are kind of hidden on the app menu but are the best around. Can't figure out what they do with them but always amazing. Their in house brews are also good. Happy hour deals really cannot be beat. And if your hungry order the potato nachos, you'll be thanking me later.

The back and blue steak was good. I ordered the red quinoa with fire roasted corn. It came plain. I asked for the correct version and it came out thrown together, not as described, and awful. I told the waiter that I did not want it. I was still charged $4 for it and it was supposed to be a side with my lobster roll. I asked for water and celery salt twice before I got any, and my whole dining experience was rushed.

This restaurant is right by our hotel so we ate here our first night. Being Maine, I ordered bacon mac'n'cheese with lobster. Husband had a Ruben. All the food was good, and husband seemed to enjoy the local brews. But the real highlight was the great service we got from our waitress. Really friendly. This wasn't the most memorable meal for our trip but I would love if this was my neighborhood hang out!

Ate here last week with my Husband for lunch. We've been wanting to try this place for a very long time! We both do not drink so I cannot comment on any of the beers, sorry! We went in for the food! I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband had a French Quarter Hamburger. My taco was very yummy as was my husbands burger. The restaurant was extremely clean and our waitress was efficient and super sweet! We'll definitely be back! Prices were a bit expensive and we spent about $40.00 for two on lunch. Definitely expensive considering neither one of us drinks alcohol!

Sat at the bar. Service was good. Beer was fresh and food was good. We had New England haddock that was very good and lobster Mac & cheese that was just okay. The price was reasonable and the portions were good sized.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was great and the service was even better! Since we were visiting Maine for the first time, my husband got the lobster roll and loved it. I got the bacon Mac n cheese with chicken, also a delicious choice :)

  • Aaron P.

Their house beers are delicious, and the food is a step above pub food, though I've had pub food I've enjoyed more. I had a chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese, and it was tasty but nothing to scream about. Besides this rather general review, there were two things that stuck out to me about my experience there. One good and one bad. Good: They show calories on the menu for certain items. I've been counting calories for a while now, so I really appreciated this. Bad: It was COLD in there. Maybe we were just below a vent or something, but my wife and I were both freezing the entire meal. All in all I'd go back if I were in the area and needed a meal, but I wouldn't make a trip out there specifically for it.

We stopped here one day while we were on vacation. The best thing about this place is the beer they brew. It was really good. The food, however, was just average. I got the fish and chips and it wasn't anything special. The place also didn't have any atmosphere. It may be because we were there for lunch, but it just didn't wow me. I'm not typically someone who looks for that, but it was noticeably absent here.

Have never had a bad experience here. Needless to say, the beer has always been best in show and the food has come a long way. Kai and his gang know how to run a large operation yet keep it feeling local-yocal. Awesome staff.

I stopped in here this past Saturday night for a quick meal with my wife. We decided that we were in the mood to split some items to maximize what we could try. We began our meal with the the beer sampler (5- 5oz samples for $6). This was a good way to try what the brewery really had to offer. I don't remember being particulary enamered with any of the beers, other than the Frye's Leap IPA, which had a very clean finish and a crisp impartment of centennial hops (delicious - reminded me of the New Bold IPA from Philadelphia Brewing Company). In addition to the beer, we also tried the Pub Pretzel appetizer (3 for $5.79). The pretzels were great (fried for extra crispiness) and served with whole grain mustard and a thin honey mustard. I didn't like that honey mustard in that it was too watery. I did ask for a side of dijon, but it never came. For the entrees, my wife and I split the Lobster & Bacon "Mac & Cheese" (large portion $19.99). This dish was pretty good and relatively large in size. I was impressed with the amount of lobster that we received with the order. My two complaints were that the dish wasn't very hot (luke warm pasta and scolding hot plate means it sat for a while under the heat lamp) and that the lobster didn't taste very fresh. The lobster lacked the "snap" that one would expect from a restuarant on the Maine coast. The Brewhouse Classic ($9.99) burger was very good and came with a respectable amount of fries (Brewcity fries me thinks). The burger had a smokey open-flame taste and was served with a thick slice of cheddar and bacon (menu says crisp...wasn't very crisp). The only detraction to the burger was the bun, which was a kaiser roll and it didn't hold up well with repeated action. Will I be back? Probably....their restaurant was clean and in close proximity to several hotels, which will make things easier when family comes to visit from out of down. Additionally, it is very close to the South Portland Mall, Walmart, Target and Cabelas....I just wish it didn't feel so much like a chain restaurant.

Nice atmosphere and location. I sat at the bar and the service was good with a good selection of beer. I has the pot stickers for an app and they were good. For dinner I had the Steak and Cake. The sirloin was dry and bland even though it was cooked medium rare. Crab cake was decent but the green beans were once again dry and bland.

We've been coming to Sebago since it opened, but in the last year or so it has steadily lost its edge. The staff seems to turn over more frequently (and is undertrained), the front desk people don't seem to care about their guests, and the things that make a restaurant stand out above the competition are lacking. The kitchen is not putting out the same quality as when the restaurant was fresh & fun -- the menu is generally the same yet the quality & presentation are noticeably diminished. The beer is really good! Scarborough has so few decent restaurants that Sebago should seize the opportunity to shine before it fails completely.

Service is always friendly here! Food is okay pub good...the old menu was better though. Great to grab happy hour and with large groups of friends. Ambience is a lot more friendly and clean than most sports bars in Portland. We came on Cinqo de Mayo. Margaritas were subpar and tasted like they were very generic and out of a 7-11 machine but it's $5 bucks so u get what u pay for. "Don't rush into Cinqo...start with dos my friends!"

I stopped by just for one beer on a weekday night. It wasn't too crowded and I easily found a table and the staff was nice. I had the stout which was much better than I expected. It had nice body and a crisp dry finish. The staff offered me a taste f the beer befoe I ordered, which was a nice touch.

The beer gives this restaurant four stars. The red and IPA were simply outstanding. I had a salmon on quinoa salad that was simple outstanding. They have a gluten free selection. If they continue to improve the quality of the food this will be a five star establishment. The service was very good three different meals.

The Vermont Panini is one of my favorite sandwiches. Apples, turkey, bacon... You can't go wrong. It is a great place if your looking for a casual yet well prepared meal. The waitstaff is always kind courteous and the food is great. The only down side is the wait for food is a bit ridiculous sometimes.

We have been coming to SBC for years now; the staff there are almost always smiling and good attitudes! Everyone is polite, which I LOVE! They have two locations and this one is our favorite! If your up for trying a new beer, and are hesitant about ordering, they will let you try a few and give you a little tasting. That way, you don't have to suffer through a it if it doesn't "dance" on your taste buds. They also have those long, salted pretzel rods out on the bar for free snacking! Their food is really good too- huge portions! Just a heads up though, their salads entrees are easily enough for 2 people to share. We recommend their Potato Nachos and Clam Chowdah!

This is a great place to grab a quick lunch or a casual dinner. They always have space, and they also rock a full bar. Staff is always friendly, and the menu is pretty consistent.. There is also another one in Downtown Portland that rocks an outdoor patio that is great in the summertime .. (This one has one too, but it faces a rather busy street) Gotta try the potato nachos !! Any of the bourbon steak dishes are amazing ... Plus, eating a salad here is a great experience for those not really into salads (Myself being one of them)

The food was good but the service SUCKED. Waited too long before anyone came to get our order. 4 different waitress walked by & ignored us. The waitress didn't tell us about the $10 pitcher of beer.

Food tasted like it came out of a microwave. It was across from our hotel so we gave it a try. I feel like we wasted a meal in maine, Try the Chinese food place across the street, much better!

For the life of me I can't figure out why a place would model itself after a flavorless, bland, cookie cutter reheatery(tm). (Reheatery re.he.ter.y noun: A 'restaurant' that serves predominately previously prepared foods. Meaning the soup comes from a can and the chicken was flash frozen a few months back. Think chilis, applebees and the olive garden) I mean really if you are into piles of thawed food go to any big box discount food store---(no as clever a name) and buy some frozen fries and hamburger patties microwave and pan fry there you go. At least the service will be better.

Stopped in for a quick lunch off the highway. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but the customer service was a little lacking. We waited 10 min for a table when the restaurant had tons of open tables (3 pm) and our waitress wasn't friendly at all. Black bean burger was good, my boyfriend said the regular burger was dry. Good sweet potato fries though. Not my first choice to go back to, but ok for the price.

Great beers and I agree with the reviewer that said 'step above bar food.' If I could give it 3.5 I would. Its a great place to meet up for dinner and a drink, but I would rate SeaDog as better. It won't stop me from going here in the future, their paninis and burgers are good.

The actual restaurant and atmosphere is nice but I would say the prices are not worth the meal and service you receive. The service was very slow and the restaurant was not even super packed. As a tourist I ordered the Maine Lobster Roll to try both Maine Lobster, and lobster rolls. The dish was not what I expected (perhaps my fault) but the lobster in the roll was all claw meat. I would have expected better meat given the sandwich was over $17. The rest of my family's meals looked alright, but again too expensive for what they received.

Good enough! Nice to find this close to the hotel I was in for the night. I tried three different beers, the session pale ale was great, two IPAs were okay, not brilliant but serviceable. Food was a solid B+

Was hoping the beer would be a winner here, while the price was the beer left much to be desired. my meal was fantastic - i got the lobster mac and cheese. the most lobster i have ever encountered in a lobster mac and cheese dish - i couldn't stop eating it! Dish had some bits of bacon and fresh parsley, huge portion, even though i left with no leftovers. menu seemed to have a good selection and they do advertise great specials throughout the week. if you are in the area it would definitely beat out a chain restaurant for sure.

Had the pork tacos. Three good sized tacos and slaw. Filled me up and then some, but the slaw was a bit too creamy for my taste. Tacos were seasoned will and had whole sprigs of cilantro in them. Cilantro was nice, but would have been better if they had de-stemed the leaves first. Overall it was decent.

I didn't like much of their beers on the sampler and usually I like all beers on samplers. I got a mushroom and Swiss burger which was okay, a little too charred and my bun was stale so I didn't eat that. It was just an okay meal for me. Probably not going back.

WINGS!!! I'm a big fan of your wings except for a couple of things. Cut off the wing tips, there is no meat on the tips anyway. Toss them out!!! Cut the remainder in half like everyone else does. You ever tried to eat something that looks like a boomerang????? I always ask you to cut the wings which you do but half the time get the tips.

Despite this being a local brewery, there is something very chain-like and clinical about the environs. The food is acceptable...not great, not bad. And for what it was, the prices were reasonable. The real reason I gave them 3 stars is that the service was inexcusably slow.

We came here for dinner when we couldn't think of any other restaurants to go to. Scarborough, ME is a hopping town! Daughter ordered the pork dumplings, I ordered the falafel burger and hubs ordered the one item that he thought would look different, the calamari fra diavolo. Daughter liked the potstickers. Hubs says the lone source of "fra diavolo" is from 1 chopped up cherry pepper. Needless to say, it's missing "the heat" but it was ok. My falafel burger was so-so. It tasted bland and I wasn't impressed. Hot sauce didn't help and the tzatziki was missing else. I asked for raw onion and it was scraggly looking. Place looks nice and they try to do better than Applebees. Service was friendly and nice.

OK, this place is pretty darn good. Came here for lunch after a long drive from Rhode Island on our way to camping. My partner had a beer which he enjoyed very much, and I had a fruit smoothie which was not very flavorful, smooth, or anything. Thankfully, that was the low-light of the meal. We had an appetizer of the potato nachos, which are waffle fries loaded with nacho fixin's - cheese, jalepenos, sour cream, etc. Really very good, and a huge portion. The lunches were also sizable - I had the Imperial Burger, where everything was locally grown and there was a fried egg on top. Cooked to a nice medium rare, everything was juicy and altogether very good. The onion rings were also properly breaded without being heavy. Impressive! My partner had the BBQ brisket sandwich special, which was juicy, saucy, and very good. Service was prompt and attentive, even for the end of the lunch rush. Reasonable prices, so overall, pretty darn good! Four stars.

I am really excited about the new menu additions! The falafel burger is amazing! The menu has always been full of great salads, wraps and burgers... and did I mention some really great sweet potato fries?!? The atmosphere is fine - kind of typical brew pub. The service has always left a little to be desired - I waited for almost 20 minutes for a refill on my iced tea and despite several attempts to flag down our server, we had apparently been put on "ignore". This new location by the mall is easily accessible. Their beer has always been very good as well - especially the IPAs. The dining room is spacious and is great for a group of people; their lounge area is really big and has always been a go-to spot for a casual after work beer with a colleague or friend.

I made many trips here while doing work in Maine over the course of several weeks. If your looking for a good beer and good pub style fair, this is a great place to check out. Being from Mass. the beer specials were foreign to me (friggin blue laws) but more than welcome. $3 22oz? Yes I'll have several please. They have a nice selection of beer at Sebago, my favorite is their Hefeweizen which is a seasonal beer, the others are good too. The standard IPA has a pretty good hoppy kick in the pants, so if that's what your in to, check it out. I didn't understand why I saw some people ordering Coorse and Corona while at an establishment that makes their own beer but to each own. The food menu has lots of sandwiches, burgers and salads, all are good enough and come in decent portions. If there was one of these closer to my home, I would definitely frequent it. Go for the beer, stay for the food.

On the road and staying at the Courtyard across the parking lot. Good meal indeed. Had the baked Haddock, with potato and green beans. Excellent bread served with meal. Enjoyed the Fryes leap ale. I wasn't impressed at first by the ale; tasted "thin" and was very pale. As the glass emptied it became quite enjoyable. Recommended place to dine and I will visit again when in the area.

I was frankly unimpressed by the food, location, and patrons of this place. This place is about as middle of the road as I have seen. I've seen quite a lot, but I wouldn't put it past me to be wrong on this place. I would definitely go back to find out. There was something about this place that made it seem like a good place. Unfortunately, That wasn't the case on the night I was there. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back and give it another chance just because I'm so neutral on it.

I am not a very big fan of dining in Maine. I don't know why, but there are not that many places that create food that has flavor. I hate going to chains all the time, so when I discovered Sebago Brewing Company I was THRILLED. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is wonderful and I have NEVER had anything bad there. My favorite is the Vermont Panini (minus the bacon). They have such yummy food, and if you are lucky enough to get Dan as your waiter...you WONT be upset. He is the best server around!

I had the wings... Here are my five thoughts on said wings (in no particular order): 1. Size - They were the BIGGEST wings I have ever seen by about 300%. They were so BIG I think they walked over to my table... The waitress simply brought over the ranch and celery sticks. 2. Sauce - Good stuff. I had six Buffalo and six Bourbon BBQ. Both solid favors. No sauce complaints. But remember to ask for a few hundred napkins and moist towelettes as your fingers, hands, and face will get stickier than a honey bear at a bumble bee's birthday. 3. Portion - Closely associated with number 1. But 12 wings could easily feed a mid-sized college football team for a week. 4. Appearance/Presentation - A bit disappointing in terms of the overall "look" of the plate once served. In fact, it looked more like a plate of pterodactyl parts than chicken wings. 5. Value - If you want to get a full farm of chickens for $18.99 this is your spot. Great bang for your buck. I am using my leftovers to feed a community in New Hampshire tomorrow morning. Fred Flintstone.

Me like! Casual place and seems quite popular with the business crowd. We had a nice waitress who expertly replaced my iced tea with a fresh glass just as I was finishing my first - perfect timing as if she heard my subtle slurp from accross the room. I had the greek falafel salad - a falafel patty over mixed greens with feta cheese crumbles. A perfect light lunch. I appreciated that the lighter menu items had the calorie count next to them and it is why I opted for that salad. I did think the croutons were a little bit of overkill and picked them out. No biggie. Great company. Great food. Tummy happy!

Nothing really to write home about. Its your typical sit down place with bar food and a few of their own beers on tap. My cod sandwhich was ok and did the job. I wouldnt run back.

Ate here the other night. The beer battered fish and chips were incredible. The service was a little slow, but it was a Friday night so it was to be expected. Loved that this restaurant was located next to our hotel....this was the main reason we tried this place.

  • Susan H.

From out of town and this was right next to the hotel. Picked it based on Yelp reviews. Had a nice meal and the teens with me both enjoyed their meals- they didn't seem to have a kids menu but it wasn't a problem. Don't think it would be good for little kids though. Nice food, waiter was good but mostly chosen due to convenience.

Sebago is a nice mid range sit down establishment. The have a wide range of sandwiches, salads and entrees - with quite a few seafood options. They also have their own line of beers (hence the name) but I did not get a chance to sample. The food was pretty good. Nothing exceptional, but portions were large and satisfying. The service was also good. This would be a great spot for lunch or a casual dinner.

Came here for dinner one night while visiting in South Portland. Service was great, prices were reasonable. Food was very good -- only downside were the potato nachos. We ordered them upon the advice of our server and they just didn't live up to our expectations. They weren't terrible, just not great. I had the Vermont Panini which was excellent and they were very accomodating with special requests. If I found myself in Portland again, I'd definitely pay Sebago a visit.

A solid local chain - yes, Sebago Brewing Co is a chain, with all that entails. Still, solid food choices -the Potato Nachos are a big favorite, pasta dishes are usually good and the Gorham location does a pasta/wine night. Burgers are good sized and cooked to order. The beer is really what I keep going back for - the Brewery in "brewing company" is, I think, the best in the state. Full Throttle IPA is my favorite beer and I've been drinking it for years - it stands up well to other brands like Dogfish Head and is best on tap. Basically: DON'T expect anything fancy from the kitchen, but DO expect to enjoy your meal, and don't forget to try one of the brews!

Stopped by here on our way back from skiing. Not much to say. The beer was good and my lobster roll was the bomb. Also their naked calamari were very tasty as was my girlfriend's steak tips risotto. The service was prompt and the prices reasonable.

Salad with chicken and fries. A little better than last time. The greens were fresh. The chicken was grilled fine, although not much extra flavor. The fries, which I shouldn't have ordered :), were hot and crispy. Burger, Chicken Fingers, Calamari and a few other things at the table were ok.

I left this place seething. Granted this review is from awhile ago the experience has stayed with me and I will never, ever return to any of these Sebago Brewing Company establishments. Though the food was fine, it was the service that left me downright insulted and questioned their sanitation and training practices for their servers. First off, our waitress took our orders, but after that she was never heard from again until the bill came. That was weird, though she had time to parade in front of us carrying nothing in her hands for the 1 hour we were at this establishment, she had to have OTHER people deliver our food? Fine, whatever. When we were ready to have our leftovers packed she appeared with dirty plates from the table next to us. She proceeded to take my mothers plate that needed to be doggy bagged and placed it on top of the DIRTY PLATE FROM THE TABLE NEXT TO OURS. Yes, this is true this took place before our very own eyes that she put OUR plate that needed to be repackaged to be brought home ON TOP OF A DIRTY PLATE FROM THE TABLE NEXT DOOR. She was nonchalant like it was common practice. After that shocker, we got the bill, we had a gift certificate. She applied the wrong dollar amount to our bill (she shorted us about $15), she didn't even notice, nor care. When we brought it to her attention she shrugged it off, said she did not even LOOK AT THEM ALL (we had a few) did not apologize nothing. If she is so nonchalant about 2 customers putting down almost $100.00 worth of food and drinks then there is something wrong with her. We were so upset after this happened we spoke to the manager. All the manager did was apologize and said he'll speak to the server. Nothing else. Heed my warnings, avoid this place.

    (5)
  • Tony W.

Place had rats and the server acted like it was my fault. I would never go there again. Don't waste your money! You have been warned. Plus they don't like Latinos.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was great and the service was even better! Since we were visiting Maine for the first time, my husband got the lobster roll and loved it. I got the bacon Mac n cheese with chicken, also a delicious choice :)

  • Marie S.

  • Hannah G.

The Lobster and Bacon Mac n'Cheese is amazing-- no take-home leftovers at this table. Sarah was our awesome waitress with impeccable timing to meet all of our needs!

Ate here the other night. The beer battered fish and chips were incredible. The service was a little slow, but it was a Friday night so it was to be expected. Loved that this restaurant was located next to our hotel....this was the main reason we tried this place.

Every time I'm up in Maine for work this is the place I go. I must admit that part of that fact is because its one of the only restaurants near the Maine Mall that isn't a chain I can find anywhere. But besides that the coworkers and I always love this place. I've tried a lot of things on the menu from their appetizers ( I absolutely love their vegetable quesadilla with or without chicken) to salads to sandwiches. I haven't been disappointed once. I'd have to agree with the other review that there sweet potato fries are one of my absolute favorite items! The beer and service is always very prompt and the waitstaff is very friendly. Also as a little side note, if you are eating out with a group check out this place on Wednesday. They have $3 scooners and half priced apps in the bar!

So I am giving this two stars for food (as it's most of what we consumed on our venture this weekend), but 4 stars for staff and beer. I'll average to 3 stars, though food was really the most prominent thing on the table. Can't ding them for the fact that we wanted to eat more than we wanted to drink. It was a friend's birthday, and I called a few days in advance to make arrangements. The person on the phone was so incredibly helpful and accomodating, and she made sure we didn't have to wait when we arrived on a Saturday night. Since it was a birthday, i wanted to bring a cake, and the staff not only let me bring my own cake and candles (without a cake-cutting fee!), but they also let me drop it off early and stored it in the fridge for me. The service level was amazing to this point. The one snafu service-wise was the hostess stand the night I arrived, Saturday night. I tried to speak with the 3 girls manning the stand and explain that we'd had call ahead seating, there were people still en route, it was a birthday, etc, and these girls (who all look high-school age and like they were BFFLs) dismissed me with such a snotty, flippant attitude that I damn near walked out. It was as though they were having a conversation in the lunchroom cafeteria and I just waltzed in to interrupt their private talk. All responses were curt, cold, and very un-friendly, and it was enough to really send the night spiraling down...HOWEVER, the waitress appeared (i forget her name but she was short and had a ponytail), and her sunny disposition despite a busy saturday night rush really turned it around for me. She was great. Appetizers: Sweet Potato fries - i don't even like sweet potatoes but these were delicious. the dipping sauce/aioli could use some seasoning/flavor, though. Potato nachos - an interesting take on nachos, they were waffle fries with nacho toppings. Very tasty bar food boneless BBQ chicken wings - a tad heavy on the BBQ coating, and with all the batter, you couldn't really taste the chicken, but tey were tasty for a bite or two. Entrees: Chicken, broccoli, ziti - portion was small but it was OK pasta for a pub. steak salad - I did not sample this but the salad was mainly mixed greens with very little steak. I can't speak to the quality of the meat or the flavor, but it looked like a bad value to spend $12 for lettuce. Buffalo chicken salad - same criticism as the steak salad, perhaps just don't get a salad here. Chicken pesto panini - it was OK but the entire bottom of the panini was soggy and mushy. The top-bread was nice and crunchy, but perhaps the grease from the loads of cheese or the olive oil from the pesto sunk to the bottom to make it soggy? I think if you offer a panini on your menu, though, you should find a way to control for that. Made the bottom bread inedible and I had to pick the sandwich apart. Otherwise, though, the flavor was good (albeit a bit bland) and I would consider getting it again. Fries don't taste house-cut, and I think they're the flash-frozen bagged kind but after that many beers, it doesn't matter. We ordered some non-beer drinks (I did not partake in any of these, give me my locally-brewed beers and i'm a happy lady), and compared to boston prices, they weren't bad. $6.50 for a martini may not be a good deal to some, but when I'm used to paying $11-14 for a martini, this was a very enticing offer. The waitress brought out our cake with candles, and I was pleased to learn that the staff does NOT sing happy birthday. I always thought that was a bit awkward and I am glad Sebago doesn't make this a practice. Other stuff: The waitress was nice and helpful, though a bit absent on the service at times when we wanted to order more drinks, needed water refills, etc. I would think she'd want to pay attention to her large, beer-drinking tables for the bigger bill/tip aspect, but it may have been busy for her that night. Overall, she was still very nice and efficient. They have a fireplace in the main dining room, which, though we couldn't see with our high-walled-booth (bummer), looked very cozy indeed. I would go back, yes, but because the food underwhelmed me, i'd stick to apps and beers and chillin' by the fire.

This restaurant was in the same parking lot as our hotel so we actually ate their twice (dine-in and takeout) during our two-day stay. They were open until 1am which was fantastic since we would typically have a late lunch in Portland. The food was good though we stuck to sandwiches. The sweet potato fries are quite possibly the best I've ever had- definitely a must-have.

Yes please!

We went here on Fathers Day because we were running some errands. The food took over an hour to come out and when it did it was inedibly salty, dry and cold. The manager and server provided great guest recovery but I just think this is chain style food and probably so so most of the time.

  • Elizabeth D.

We had a sampler of their darker beers which were all very good. The barleywine and Imperial Stout were especially solid and because they bottle the barleywine we were able to take it home with us. We only had a couple of the appetizers but even they went well with the beers.

Bad bartender & manager! More concerned about closing bar then service at 8pm w/ full bar. Should have just gone to one of the million franchises.

The food sucked, period. Frozen haddock in Maine? Frozen potatoes in Maine? C'mon people. We have an abundance of fresh food.

We had dinner there last night with a group of 7 adults and 3 children (under 3) and set outside on the patio. We waiting 1h30minutes for our food and another half hour to just get our checks after we finished eating. Will not return. Visited July 2013

A little difficult to find near the courtyard marriott. Had dinner at the bar, lobster blt sand with cup chowder and a 22 oz beer for just 20 bucks!!! Great value and not a chain. Highly recommend

Nothing really to write home about. Its your typical sit down place with bar food and a few of their own beers on tap. My cod sandwhich was ok and did the job. I wouldnt run back.
