Still love the crumb fried clams and well done fries. Great place to go when the sun is behind the clouds. We're the only people here.

We discovered this spot one night two years ago as we were going to the fisherman's cove side of Pine Point to walk our dog; less crowded and just a small beach. We continue to return because this is how seafood should be. A small shack that doesn't try to be fancy. You want Clams? Batter or crumbs? They have chicken fingers and a grilled sausage sandwich so they have something for everyone. I would say the cole slaw is forgettable. As a bonus for true Mainers, they have Moxie, that's not for me but the hubs loves it. They also have two ice cream bars by local ice cream awesomeness, Martel's. They have a few picnic tables that overlook the ocean front of the marsh and the sunsets can be glorious. They have a sneak log building that has signs promising a tavern in May 2016 which will be a great addition. So skip the Clamshack tourist trap and hit this true seafood shack just right around the corner. They even have their own parking lot!

My favorite OOB food is the clam cake but they can get crazy expensive but I still always get one. Glad I did. Awesome price and good taste. If you've never had one it is a batter with clams made into a patty a bit smaller than a burger and deep fried. Not the healthiest of choices but a once a year treat for me. Some can take em or leave em but I really love em. I had two out of my four girls take a bite and then another and then poof it was gone. Ok time to go back. They had pictures of their dinner plates on the wall so you could get a feel for the amount of food for the price. Looks decent...again will need to go back. Picnic tables are out back with awesome tranquil views that pull you out of the hustle and bustle of down town old orchard. Take a bike ride over to grab a bite and lock up at the bike rack. Great way to work off the deep fried treats.

Delicious food and a nice place to sit at picnic tables outside. Prices a little on the high side but worth it. There isn't any indoor seating or rest rooms.

Delicious fried seafood and generous portions. Check the weather because there is only outdoor seating. Wonderful views of salt marshes and surprising few bugs. The temperature can be cooler than you expect with so much ocean around you so bring something warm to wear just in case it's cooler than you expect.

I had their clam dinner on 6/20/14. It was the most disappointing meal that I have had in years. The clams were tasteless and soggy. The fries were limp. Nothing was crispy or had any flavor. I wondered if the clams had been previously frozen. The coleslaw had no flavor at all, very very bland. I paid nearly $20.00 for this and will not go back to this business again. There are other places in the area that are far superior to the Salty Bay.

I go for just one thing at Salty Bay and that one thing is fried clams. Sometimes I get a bit of cole slaw or fries because someone else in my party desires that. Every one of the half dozen times I've been here is just excellent. Particularly great is the lack of line compared to the tourist joints. Have yourself a Moxie with them. Relax and enjoy yourself. My most recent experience, I brought my own beverages, but I wish I had also brought BUG REPELLENT for the horseflies biting at my ankles.

Delicious fried clams and a great view of the salt marsh. It's a seasonal snack bar type of place with outdoor seating only.

We go to Pine Point every year and Salty Bay is always a highlight. I was surprised to see some of the negative feedback. It is a little pricey but the friend clams are great, the chowder is amazing and the scene is outstanding. Would defiantly recommend visiting.

I never really trust the reviews of some of these places. The people who go out of their way to write regular reviews of every place they eat...? They are usually tourists from upper snoberbia who could only be pleased with what we call 'Fairy Food'...something so small and obscure, surrounded by a drizzle of this and a sprig of that as garnish; when in fact the garnish is more filling than the entree'! I've eaten at Salty Bay since 1984 and IMHO they have the best chowder hands down...and if it's your thang, fried seafood. I've also been going to The Clambake since 1967 and love them, but the food gets lost inside the mass amount of batter, and the last time I ate there I had to leave my youngest child as payment! I can get four pound of fried fish here in NY for what they're selling it for at The Clambake. The Salty Bay is cheaper and much better tasting. But, you're eating in a tourist draw so expect high prices everywhere.

Mediocre lobster and clam cakes-Bailey's lobster pound just down the street is 10 times better. It does have later hours then Bailey and a nice view.

My favorite place to get friend Maine shrimp, fried clams, etc. Salty Bay is take out food, but they have seating tables outside during the summer. Open only seasonally. I love to go there every other weekend during the summer. Anytime we get visit from out of state I take them to Salty Bay for some good fried seafood.

Tried Salty Bay on Mother's Day because all the other seafood places were mobbed. Now I understand why this place wasn't. We tried the clams last year and were not impressed at all. We gave it a try again on Mother's day and were still unimpressed. We ordered clamcakes and french fries.Calling Harmons clamcakes, clamcakes , is a misnomer, as there is hardly any chunks of clam in it.When I want a real clamcake I will go to Arundel Seafood Center or to Bayleys on Pine Pt road.

Good seafood and fair prices. Love the natural cut fries with the skin left on. Salty Bay employees are friendly and the location is perfect. A couple of blocks off the beach or right on the marsh...this is excellent spot for a meal on Pine Point. I would definitely recommend the fried bay scallops. Note: please don't feed the seagulls!
