LOVE their lemon chicken salad. Really have never had bad food there and always run into locals. Service upstairs is really great. One of our favorite local spots!

We gave the BSG a try for the first time and we'll definitely be making a second trip. The waitress was super friendly and the service was great. We chose from the Groupon prix fixe menu that, despite being prix fixe, had a number of awesome sounding options. Grounded wings (tenders, not spicy) for the appetizer were delicious, spare ribs/baked haddock for the two entrees, and a giant cookie thing for dessert. We're still talking about the loaded potato pancake that we chose as a side! Really the only thing that made it just shy of perfect was that they're definitely a bit pricey in the absence of a Groupon.

Wasn't crowed which was nice. We got our seats right away. We ordered the seafood caps; its a joke of an appetizer! They were good but you only get 6 & they are baby portabella mushrooms!! I had the lobster Alfredo it was good, but just tasted like Alfredo sauce with a few chunks of lobster over fettuccine pasta. I paid nearly $20 for the dish. I would have liked to have seen more lobster and more flavor! My water sat empty for a while, which was disappointing. I rate it 3 bc I wouldn't go back if it's up to me. Over priced for what you're getting.

Ok, this has always been one of my favorite places in Sanford for one reason, buffalo chicken roll up! It's just one of the best! I may be jaded because that's all I get! But every time I take my wife or a friend, they love their meal too! Keep it up!

Bullet point review: -Good spinach dip, served warmed in a bowel bread, which was also good: Worth the $8. -Chicken tenders good but pretty standard only five with varying sizes - can't recommend for $8. -Very clean tables -Went when it was dead; got good service -Family sauté is cheese, ravioli, sausage, red peppers, green peppers, onion, mushrooms was too cheesy for me; Was full only having eaten half. -Garlic bread was nice and crunchy. - Bathroom weirdedly tinted light and beat up toilet was not a good presentation

Good lord! 2 adults and 2 kids menu = $80 before tip. Way too much for the location and food. Boring specials for a Saturday night. Would eat there again for about $25 less.

We just happened to be in the area and my GPS came up with Backstreet so we went! It was well worth it. It's a very cozy place, good service and yummy food. I got the Chicken Burrito Wrap. So good!! My husband got the Reuben and he liked it too. He always gets the Reuben if the place has one. Our three year old got the Kids Club sandwich w/ ham. The presentation on all was very nice too. So glad we stopped!! We will definitely go there again!

For Sanford, its a pretty decent restaurant. Great wine list, burgers are tasty, fries are really good, prime rib isnt the greatest, but for the most part I cant complain. Attracts locals so sometimes guests are questionaable but thats just a chance you'll have to take. If I'm in Sanford this is my preferred restaurant!

I ate there with my family this past week and found the food good. We went on a Tuesday so it was a slow night but they did have business. The waitress was very pleasant and nice. I had lasagna and it was very hot and tasted very good. My husband had the Blackened Pastrami wrap and found it very tasty, My son had the Family Saute and he found it a bit too cheesy for his taste but otherwise he thought it was very good. We had chicken fingers for an appetizer which was good but small amount for $6,99. Our bill was $58 and some change. I would go back again. I want to bring some of my girlfriends there for lunch some time.

I take surveys online that offer rewards through restaurant.com . This was one of the choices. We visited on a Saturday around 3:30 pm because we had our 1 year-old daughter and wanted to be somewhere that wasn't packed. We ordered a chicken quesadilla for her which wasn't so great. The chicken had some fat and tendons on it. Otherwise, it was ok. The kids menu was diverse, but for her age and the amount she eats, we usually just get her something to share with us and we don't get her fries and stuff like that although they DID say they could substitute a veggie if we wanted. My husband ordered the steak tips medium and they came out cooked to perfection. They were delicious and I know b/c I made him let me try some. We both ordered carrots--mine as substitute for fries or chips and he as a choice alongside his fries. His fries were perfectly crisp and not too oily. I ordered a BLT wrap and it was well prepared and simple. I liked it very much. The vegetable of the day were carrots and they were cooked perfectly (not frozen and thawed) and a bit sweet with tarragon. Then, we ordered dessert and chose tiramisu. I doubt they prepare these in house. If I had never had tiramisu, I wouldn't have liked it based on this example. Too much custard (and not the traditional from scratch stuff) and the layers were way too thick. I always visit and evaluate the bathroom b/c I am picky about them. It was clean and I liked that you could grab a towel and throw it away without touching the doorknob, however the room was VERY poorly lit and the ceiling fixture looked like an old cracked and burned piece of garbage from a dumpster. Doing a little in there would make a HUGE difference. We were greeted and the girl who originally seated us told us to have a good day and said goodbye when she walked out the door. That was nice and above and beyond. Even the girl sweeping the floor talked to us about our daughter. Everyone was very attentive and genuine. I will return. And, the price was VERY reasonable. Our check for an appetizer, beer, soda, two coffees, steak tips and a wrap was only 50 dollars before the voucher.

Purchased a groupon coupon for the backstreet and stopped in. Would not even think of Sanford as a stop but glad we found it. We ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon for an appetizer and they were cooked perfectly with some sort of balsamic drizzle. Our meals were really tasty. My wife got the surf and turf, cooked perfectly. I ordered the meat trio of ribs, chicken and steak tips also cooked perfectly. Topped it off with a tiramisu. I would highly recommend this nice restaurant The service was super.
